RE: Get Monitor Size

Hi, there,
I want to get monitor size in my JFrame class, which method should I call? Can somebody help me out?
Thank you very much in advance,
Xin

Toolkit tk = getDefaultToolkit();
Dimension dim = tk.getScreenSize();
this.setSize(dim.getWidth(), dim.getHeight());
or
this.setSize(dim);
should work as well I think.

  • Getting Monitor Size of IMac

I need to get a report that will list the Monitor Size. How do i do that with ARD

You can get the monitors resolution through the System Overview Report. But if you mean the monitor's physical size - 17", 19", etc. - then you can't since that information isn't reported by the monitor to the computer (on any computer system, to the best of my knowledge). You could get the monitor's model number (so you could look up the size) by running the UNIX command
    system_profiler
on each system which would return the display's model number from which you could then look up the physical specs from the manufacturer's web site.

div box gets relocated depending on browser and monitor size. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

This is usually caused by malformed HTML, CSS and/or the use of absolute positioning in primary layouts.  Without a link, it's all guesswork on how to fix it though.

    Hello,

  • Can't Get Monitor to Work

Recently upgraded to 2012 from 8. Cannot get Monitor to work. I can browse to the 8200 port and get a blank webpage. The individual web pages for the POA, GWIA, MTA, Webaccess and DVA all work. This is on SLES 11.1. Maybe it is not supposed to work. If that is the case the Admin Documentation is not clear, since it says somethings only work with a Windows install and implies that other components will still work with SLES. [I did initially have a problem with the DVA monitor where the IP address did not get written to the config file, so something along the same lines may have gone wrong on install.] Thanks.

Here is a little more detail, although as mentioned, if I attempt to reinstall, I get a report that the rpm items are installed already:

  • The 'Monitor Size' setting could do with an update

This isn't the most important issue in the world, but I did notice that the 'Monitor Size' setting in Frame 11 (Edit > Preferences > Global > General > Monitor Size) hasn't changed for years.
It's used so that when you have your screen set to 100% zoom, it matches the real paper world in size.
But - it just has a drop-down for 'diagonal width" monitor size which assumes a 4:3 aspect ratio (as per old CRT monitors) and only goes up to 22".  I'm currently typing on a 23" 'widescreen' (16:9) monitor so I don't think that diagonal width drop-down is going to do much useful for me

I presume this setting wasn't fixed in FM12, and still assumes a quaint single-screen 4:3 aspect ratio.
Back when computers were slower, and I was doing a lot of work with relatively high res TIFFs, I figured out that if I set Monitor Size and zoom levels carefully, I could get specific zoom levels to render raster images at exact integer multiples or fractions of the video card's frame buffer raster dimensions. I found that this made a huge difference in display & refresh performance. At 1:1, doing so apparently eliminated resampling of the image data entirely. At integer 1:N or N:1, it apparently minimized the computation required, and minimized artifacts.
This sort of consideration is less important today, but it would be nice to get the parameter fixed, or at least publish a FAQ on how to game the 4:3 assumption for 16:9, 16:10 and 21:9 monitors, as well as arbitrary multi-monitor configurations.

  • Monitor size and websites

    Hi hows it going!
    My name is John
My question is how do i get my site to stretch and stay consistant to various monitor sizes?
I constantly have to crt+ to resize on different screens.

    John,
If you use a relative width (100% width instead of a fixed value in px), the site/pages will adapt to the currently available width.

  • Monitor size will be a problem?

    Dear all,
Am developing a application using mouse-events. I generate some click events on some particular controls automatically. So if i use that particular application in some other system with a different monitor size will there be any problem?
    Earlier response is much appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Solved!

    Hi mathan,
with the user32.dll function "GetWindowRect" you can read the position of the window, on which you want create an event. To this position you can add the position to where you want to move the mouse. The attached example shows hao to get the coordinate of the specified window.
Why do you use the x and y positions? You can send a key pressed to a specified button without moving the mouse to this position.

  • How can I get the size of a file with apple script

I try to get the size of a file within an apple script. But I did not find information how to do this.

There are two ways. I think Apple is moving toward using System Events, which is listed first.tell application "Finder"
set myFile to selection as alias
--this just gets a file for me to work with
--coercing it into an alias is required for the other functions
    end tell
    tell application "System Events"
    get size of myFile
    end tell
set myInfo to (info for myFile)
    get size of myInfo

  • Getting the size from a model

    Hello
How can I get the size of a model (from a *.w3d-file). The
model does not contain the properties width, height or length, so I
guess that I have to measure the distance between the models
    vertices.
But I can't seem to think of a good way to do it in. I guess
a loop of some kind? But it would seem rather unomptimized to
actually loop through each and every vertex point in the model I
    wan't measured.
    Any suggestions?

The closest thing to model's dimensional properties is the
model's boundingSphere property. It gives a radius of an imaginary
sphere that contains all the vertices of the model; the sphere's
diameter is the distance between the two farthest-apart vertices.
However it includes the model's children in the sphere. Set
yourModel.debug = TRUE to see it.
You could loop through each model, add a mesh deform
modifier, go through each mesh[ ].vertexlist, keep track of each
max and min x, y, and z value, the calculate w, l, h from that. It
would take a little time... you probably wouldn't want to do it
every frame. But you could do it on a keypress or something.

  • By mistake, I shrink the size of a particular page, which firefox then remembers. How do I get the size back to normal?

When moving around on websites, somehow I manage to shrink the size of what is shown on the screen. I have not figured out how to get the size back to 'normal'. However, Firefox remembers this so when I reenter this particular size, it will still be in the smaller format. Very frustrating and as this has happened for at least two of my most watched sites, I am more and more using competing formats, e.g. Explorer.
I have alsl asked more experienced users of Internet to try to solve this but they are as lost as I am.
Looking forward to getting your advice.

Found that all the SQL servers are getting monitored, expect few servers which are having SQL server 2012 role.
proxy is enabled for these servers, when I checked discovered inventory for SQL 2012 database unable to find these servers in that list.
and other servers having SQL Server 2012 monitoring properly issue is with only few servers.

    Hi,
thanks for the all the input, we are using service account as windows account instead of action account !!
will that also affect discovery of SQL role?
and also found that there are many alerts in SCOM console, with alert description :
SQL Server cannot authenticate using Kerberos because the Service Principal Name
(SPN) is missing, misplaced, or duplicated.
please let me know how we can resolve this issue, will it affect SQL discovery as well ?

    Hi,
The dswsbobje web application (war file) is mentioned in SAP IK XI 3.1 install guide to explain how to get the SAP authentication option available in Business Objects products such as Live Office, which use web services to log on to BusinessObjects Enterprise.
The source files for various Business Objects web applications are available in "businessobjects_root\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\java\applications\" folder. Refer to "Deploying the web applications using wdeploy" section in SAP IK XI 3.1 install guide to see how to repackage those web apps and deploy them using wdeploy tool.

  • How do I get the size of a file on a server with an Applet

    Hei,
I have a problem. I have some files that I need to read in with InputStream to get an Array of bytes. The Applet and the files are on the same server.
My Prob is, that when I use
    URL(daFile).getFile().getSize();
it only gives the inaccurate size from the dirlisting (i.e. 48 for 48k)
So I can not build an array with the correct Size.
Does anyone knows how I get the correct size of a file.
    Big thx
    LoCal

Appler can open connections to server it was downloaded from. You don't need such complicated API as RMI... Just simple java server listening for queries.
    Like this:
    Applet:
    1. take a file path
    2. connect to simple server (gives OutputStream and InputStream)
    3. create ObjectOutputStream and send fiel to server (File is serializable)
    4. Read String with size from input stream
    Server
    1. Wait for connection
    2. When client connected create ObjectInputStream and expect File instance
    3. Get file size
4 Replay with String with size
    Like this...
