Re-install database console

Hi,
I removed the database console (enterprise manager) from the 10g installation. How can I re-install the EM without the entire database installation. When I started Universal Installer, it asked me for a new Oracle home.

The easiest way (in my opinion) is to use emca:
Remove the dbconsole:
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos dropCreate the dbconsole:
emca -config dbcontrol db -repos createGood luck

I got the Database Configuration Assistant: Warning
Enterprise manager configuration failed due to the following error - Listener is not up or database service is not registered with it. Start the Listener and register database service and run EM Configuration Assistant again.
I have started the listener and register database service now. I have tried to run the command:
emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create
I got the error sysman already exists.
Does it mean that even though I got the Warning message, the Enterprise Manager repository has already been created?
What should I do to bring up the database console?

I did not see any EM DB Console service.
I believe SYSMAN is the default schema for the EM repository. So, I think I just need to configure EM not to create EM repository.

Oracle Database Console Service not starting on Windows 2008 R2

I am installing Oracle 11G
The database installs fine, however Database Console service will not start. The java process is launched and I get the login screen, however after logging in I see: Error: Internal Error has occurred. Check the log file for details.
I check emoms.trc and I found the following:

I do not know what is being passed for variables, however there is only one row in that table (Target_name=Management Services and Repository) and in another database instance I have 5.
I have tried uninstalling the entire database several times and I have also used emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop and emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create several times after updating my host file (even though I have a static IP). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Not able to keep two OEM ( 11g) Database Console open at the same time.

Hi Gurus,
I am running into issues when I try to keep two instances ( TEST and PROD) of Oracle 11g on the same server open in OEM Database Console.
The issue is when i try to loginto the 2nd OEM database control page on a new tab of internet Explorer ( when the Ist DB console is open in another tab), it close the first one and open the 2nd instance.
Also trying opening two seperate IE sessions ( without tabs) , still its logs out the Ist instance.
Any idea why this is happening and How could I have both the OEM DB consoles open at the same time. please advice

There are two types of Database Enterprise Managers, one is Database Control(free tool) and another is Grid Control(paid tool). The one that you are using is a free tool with the limitation that at one time, there can be only one database which can be managed by it. For each database managed by DBC, there is a different port number assigned and only when you use DBC at that specific port number, you can manage the said database. You can check the initially assigned port numbers for the databases in the file *$OH/install/portliist.ini*. You can have a read about about it over here,

The Grid control can manage all the databases under one window only but its a paid version of EM so it can't be used without a proper license.

How to install database firewall 5.0

I download Oracle Database Firewall 5.0.0 Media Pack v1 for Linux x86 from edelivery, and I readed the document "Installation Guide Release 5.0 E18693-03".
Then I installed oracle enterprise linux 5.4 x86, But I can't find the "Welcome to Enterprise Linux screen" when I login to linux.(page 18 on document)

The DB Firewall acts as a bridge when using in inline mode. You should not have to change anything on the Client nor on the DB Server. The Client, DB Firewall and DB Server are in the same IP Network but not "physically" connected. This mean's the DB Server is connected with the DB Firewall on one side and the Client with the DB Server on the other side.
I've configured a test environment with VMWare. To have to separated network I created a second host only network with the same IP range. DB Server and on Network Interface of the DBFW is in vmnet2 while Client, DBFirewall Console and second Network Interface is in vmnet1. When the DB Firewall or Bridge is switched off the client can not "see" the DB Server anymore. I saw a test configuration from Oracle based on Virtualbox. There they used the internal network for the DB Server / DBFW NIC1 and the host only network for the client, DBFW Console and DBFW NIC2.
1. Why I am not able to see all tabs in DBFW console?
=> no idea.
2. How to integrate Oracle Database with this Firewall setting?
=> no change on the DB nor on the Client. Setup an enforcement Point to integrate it in the DBFirewal.
3. Will user access DBFW or DBFW-MS or Database?
=> The do not have to access DBFW unless they want to see the console
4. What will be the change in the TNS entries on client side?
=> no change

This has been documented on various places.
Install the libXp package, that is the package which contains libXp.so.6, which is missing (see your error message)
Is this x86 or x86_64?
(in both cases you need to install the x86 version (.i386.rpm))

running sapstart.exe name=AS9 nr=00 SAPDIAHOST=astrum -wait
SAPSTART finished successfully on astrum_AS9_00, but Dispatcher is not connected to MessageServer.
sapparam(1c): No Profile used.
PLEASE HELP ME....

i believe that oracle 8i are no longer supported by SAP.
By default, SAP R/3 4.7 EE should come with Oracle 9i.
Check your installer again.

plateform: windows2003/oracle10g
product: SAP ERP 2005
Two node MSCS based cluster.
- Installed OS and patched it.
- Configured network adapters
- Configured Shared storage device.
- Installed Cluster server.(Tested by moving resources to other node successfully)
- installed oracle10g
- Patched db
- Installed Oracle failsafe.
- I have installed ASCS instance on first node using shared disk successfully.
- Clustered the first node successfully
- Created the oracle failsafe group
- While installing the Database instance. (nothing was displayed in Dbhost field, i have manually entered virtual database host) . set all other wizard parameters ... installation stopped on step 5 e.i. "Create and Load Database" with an error message as follows.

How to configure Database console on R12.1.3

I want to configure Database Console on my oracle R12.1.3, and my Database version is 11.2.0.2.
When i tried to run "*emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create*", it fails when giving the password for DBSNMP that invalid username/password error.
What will be the default password for DBSNMP user?? Or can i change the password for DBSNMP user.??
Plz help me in solving the issue

Install database development mode to production mode

Hai everybody,
now i am using oracle 11g 11.2.0.0 database with default options and default parameters.OS is RHEL linux 5.5 Machine is intel dual core 3.2 with 4 Gb Ram.memory_target is 1568M
sga_max_size is 1568M.Company plan to install Database in IBM server with Quard core processor , 32 GB Ram and RAID 5 storage.what things should i increase for the new installation(kernel parameters, db parameters, sga etc..) based on the server requirement. i am new to database please help me

My recommendation would be to remove the MEMORY_TARGET parameter and stick with the tried and tested SGA_TARGET and PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET parameters. If this is the only database running on the server and you have 32GB RAM, I would bump up the total of the SGA and PGA to around 28GB, leaving some for the OS. Depending on what kind of DB it is and what load you have, will depend on how you share the SGA and PGA memory.
If you are happy with performance and all your queries then leave the parameters as they are. Take a look at an AWR report for your database over a representative period of time when there is peak load and check out how it looks. If it's not good, you might want to tweak some of the DB parameters, but if it's OK apart from one or two queries then you would need to tune those individually.

i have only 6 months experience in oracle database so i have known only very little things, we have no experienced dba here.Ours is a small software firm, here doing online application development using java and its testing and testers some times recommend some times database performance too low, not always some times only, i don't know what's the reason. i just queried "select seq#, event, username, osuser, wait_time, seconds_in_wait, state, schemaname, process, blocking_session, status from v$session where type='USER'; " i didn't get nothing
my another question is some times they say db is slow can i figure out the problem using any sql query.company plan to test deply and testing our online application next week (application server tomcat and db oracle 11g 11.2.0.0).i read some posts if increase SGA set memory_target and memory_max_target parameters with around 40% of Physical RAM for one instance.please give new infomation

Error when Installing Eax-console as part of Audigy support pack 3.6

<div class="lia-component-body lia-message-body">Hey there, out of nowhere I have the following problem:
I have used several versions of this audigy support Pack up to now, both in Windows XP and Windows 7 RC and all worked fine for me. Most recently I used 3.5 and 3.6 in both OS for a short time.
now I had to format my harddisk an have installed a clean version of Win XP SP3. I installed an update pack (winboard.org), the latest direct X and drivers for nvidia motherboard and videocard. Then, when I tried to install this support pack, I get an error messagge I-00 when eax-console should have been installed, something about CTengine being unable to be installed.
I read through many of the solutions here in the forum, since this error seems to be not so rare. But up to now, nothing helped. This is, what my install.log tells me:

What the heck could I do?

HRe: Error when Installing Eax-console as part of Audigy support pack 3.6o What you have is a missing file, or perhaps your system is wanting to install direct X redistributable or something similar. Do a search on your system for install.log and when you find the newest one, or second to newest one, open it with notepad. It will tell you exactly what you are missing. I was trying to install some components for my Elite Pro and it said in the install.log that it could not find DXREDIST. So I copied a version I had to the installing program's folder and it worked!? So take a look at that log and see what is missing......write back with your results if you dont mind. In the original post I had seen the registration problems with components. You can manually run regsvr32 with the /? switch and see how to unregister that yourself and then try the installation again.

It is not easy, really , it has taken many hours and at the End I got the problems,.
so I have decided to pay 20 $ every month, and I can get an access IDES to SAP, ERP, ABAP.
without any problem. In ABAP, I have only Sflight ,SBOOK etc. but MARA, and others tables, dont exist, .
I know, some students have not enough money, so what can we do? every one get problem with installaion and others after installaion, with server, 3 days work, and NSP becomes RED. Yellow, etc.
