Re: nsapi problem with WL 4.5.2 no sp with iPlanet 4.0

          We are noticing the same problem with WL5.1, esp.
          I can replicate this by reducing the number of executeThreads
          within WebLogic to a very low number (say 5). It seems to
          me that there is a problem with the WebLogic proxy (NSAPI); it seems to be gettting into a state where it is not able to do handle connection startups/shutdowns in a graceful manner leaving IDLE connections.
          Any pointers would be appreciated.
          Thanks.

  • IPlanet  NSAPI -- problem with KeepAlive connections

    Hi
    I have problems with following scenario:
    When client establish KeepAlive connection with iPlanet server it sends one important custom header only on first request.
    My goal is to implement filter that will add this header to all subsequent requests on this connections.
    I can identify request by socket descriptor, but I don't know how to detect if this connection is still the same, or socket was closed and reused for other connection.
    Thanks, Andrew

    It seems like you have to make sure your web application uses sessions in order to trace an interaction with your web app clients.
    You should probably write either an NSAPI filter that would add your special header to all requests to a certain application(that should supports sessions) or a servlet filter that would do the same.

  • Replication problem with iPlanet directory server 5.1 SP2 HF1

    If I make a apply a change to either of consumer servers for an entry that belongs to the large database, that change does get applied to the consumer targated but it can not refer the change to teh master. Neither the master, nor the other consumers get updated consequently. I did not have this problem with directory server 5.1 SP1. I only see this problem after I apply directory server 5.1 SP2 HF1.
    From the error log file, I see the following message:
    NSMMReplicationPlugin - repl_set_mtn_referrals: could not set referrals for replica

    I have a suggestion - try another means for administering your directory - use the console only for maintenance and tuning purposes. There are several products out there that are much better for day to day operations ...
    Otherwise - I think with 5.1 the view is based on the rdn of the entries - and I am not sure it is customizable. Additionally I know 5.2 solved your second issue - maybe the latest SP of 5.1 has solved it as well - though I don't really know ...

  • Problem with iPlanet Web Server 6

    We are getting an intermittent problem with our web server, the users start to get problems connecting to the web site.
    I have found the following message in the error log -
    failure ( 2390): Error accepting connection -5928, oserr=130 (Connect aborted)
    can anybody help???

    Check out the below.
    Problem 4680491. CSS causes oserr=130 in iWS 6.0 logs.
    Workaround
    If you are using the Cisco Content Services Switch (CSS) with Sun ONE Web Server and have set the value of the sticky bit setting in CSS to on, the following error is logged periodically in the error logs:
    failure ( 2210): Error accepting connection -5928, oserr=130 (Connect aborted)
    This is caused not by a defect in Sun ONE Web Server but by the setting of the sticky bit in CSS. To avoid the error logging, set the value of the sticky bit in CSS to off.
    Which as been fixed in iWS 6.0 SP5.

  • Problem with Iplanet/JWS 6.1 connecting to Weblogic on Solaris

    We have an application which runs JSPs and Servlets on SJSWS/Iplanet 6.1 and uses
    EJBs on
    Weblogic 8.1 for database access.
    When the Weblogic server is running on a Windows box, there is no problem accessing
    the EJBs. But
    we have not been able to get connected when the Weblogic is running on a Solaris
    box.
    Also, we don't have a problem connecting to the Weblogic on Solaris from a Tomcat
    webserver, so
    the EJBs and URI are correct.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi all,
    We have upgraded (parallel) from Netscape Directory server v4.2 to iPlanet Directory Server v5.1
    Here are few issues that Im experiencing.
    1. In the directory view, all accounts are displayed by the user ID rather then the Common Name like it used to be with the Netscape Directory Server.
    I can not find any options to change the view.
    2. When searching for the user, once user is found, i can not do the right click to be able to delete the user. (was able to in the older version).
    Any feedback will be greatly appreciated,
    Thanks

    Are there diagnostic tools for my problem ?
    Any suggestions/recommendations are mostly welcome !!!

    Unfortunately, since your code is doing a "CONNECT" instead of a "GET" there is no way to see the actual url that the tool is requesting. The connect statement is basically telling the proxy that the client wants to start its own session to the remote server. The proxy doesn't participate in the http part of the CONNECT request.
    The only ways you can see the actual client requests are if you control either the client or server side. If you control the server side, then you can simply look in the webserver log file. If you only control the client side (and its a special tool) then you have to figure out a way to get the tool's writer to log his/her requests somewhere. (if you have control of the server side, and have a copy of the keys, then potentially you can decrypt the traffic in ethereal or ssldump)
    There are other man in the middle techniques also, but they involve setting up a type of reverse proxy that terminate and re-creates the ssl session. (i think one such tool is called grinder)
    This is strange, yes

  • Problem with WebLogic 10.3.3, Apache 2.2.3 and WebLogic Apache proxy plugin

    I have a problem with using Apache 2.2.3 as a WebLogic SSL proxy. I have Apache 2.2 running and successfully configured an SSL cert, config in ssl.conf is...
    <VirtualHost secure.daftdonkey.com>
    # Setup SSL for secure.daftdonkey.com
    ServerName secure.daftdonkey.com
    SSLEngine On
    SSLCertificateFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.crt
    SSLCertificateKeyFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.key
    SSLCertificateChainFile /oracle/secure/gd_bundle.crt
    </VirtualHost>
    This works fine
    Now I want Apache to proxy requests to my WebLogic Server and secure them over SSL as well
    e.g. a request to https://secure.daftdonkey.com/service goes to https://weblogic.internal.site/service
    I have downloaded and configured the weblogic module and tested it handling traffic for HTTP and that worked, then I switched the WebLogic module to use SSL.
    LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl.so
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    WebLogicHost weblogic.internal.site
    WebLogicPort 16101
    Debug ALL
    SecureProxy ON
    WLSSLWallet /oracle/secure/my-wallet
    WLLogFile /tmp/wl-proxy.log
    </IfModule>
    <Location /service>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    </Location>
    Starting Apache throws the error. I think this is my main problem, i've searched support.oracle.com and not found anything.

    I found the answer to this. The documentation is not clear enough, LD_LIBRARY_PATH MUST be set and MUST have a pointer to the directory where the SSL .so modules are. I wrote up a blog article explaining the configuration and detailed this issue.

  • Problem with SSL weblogic plug in and Apache

    We're using mod_wl_22.so with Apache, and after some problems with the mod failing on startup it is now working. We can access the weblogic SSL page fine directly on port 16101 with no warning, when we try via the proxy we get a failure of server Apache bride --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF. And in the wl_proxy.log there is a message that I think relates to the trustedcertfile in our http.conf file. We have a root certificate in pem format as the trustedcertfile.

    I see that it is six months ago that I first posted this. Nothing has changed. When I use affixa to create a message with an attachment from my gmail account in firefox, the message is created in drafts, but the gmail window is closed and I have to re-open it. Not critical, but annoying.
    Now there is a plug-in on the affixa site that is supposed to be designed for Firefox, and which affixa support claims should take care of this. And I've downloaded it twice. When you download it and open it, it says that it will be installed when Firefox restarts, and gives you a button to restart Firefox. But after you click that button and firefox disappears and re-appears, the affixa plug-in is NOT in the plugin list.
    Please, somebody, HELP.

  • Problem with ebj !!

    Hi all:
    We are trying to show the benefits of AppServ 7 with a client how has Weblogic 6.1.
    The I used ASMT 3 to migrate an ear app, which have a stateless bean... I have resolve most problems with this but I have two questions:
    1) the web.xml file (Web app) has <ebj-name>ejb/ConsultaMoroso</ejb-name> ... when I deployed the ear file... the verifier tell me that this isnot valid with this:
         FAILED TESTS :
         Test Name : tests.ejb.EjbNameNMTOKEN
         Test Assertion : EJB Name must conform to the lexical rules for an NMTOKEN test
         Test Description : For [ app_consultamoroso#consultamorosoJAR.jar#ejb/ConsultaMoroso ]
    Error: [ ejb/ConsultaMoroso ] does not conform to the lexical rules of NMTOKEN within bean [ ejb/ConsultaMoroso ]
    This have functional efects????? Should I tell the client that must rewrite their appp and change the / with a .?????
    2) is this detail (ejb-name) related to this error:

    As far, I go, if I turn off the verifier option when make deployment the ear file goes fine... but of course the app don't work.....
    Thanks for any input....

    Thanks for the response. I am not using any pages for this application yet... just calling the web service from SOAP UI or any Web Service testing tool causes the problem.
    All that has to be done to replicate it is to build a simple EJB 3.0 JPA bean using the entities from tables wizard and then add named query as follows:
    @NamedQuery(name = "BomHeader.findByDesc", query = "select o from BomHeader o where o.bomDesc like :p_bomDesc")
    then build a session bean with the wizard that includes the JPA persistence unit and the entity and subsequently use the wizard to wrap the session bean in a web service.
    The whole replication process should take 5 minutes if you have some database tables to work with. It breaks when the web service is called.
    Thanks in advance
