i applied the latest patch of developer and i still got the same
problem. any idea!!!

Make sure your laptop memory is min 16M bit but to good speed
increase to 48M or 64M.
ann make sure you HD size is good enough at least 2G
And I don't know what OS you are in and most this problem occurs
in W95 or W98.

I'm running Oracle9i Database R2.
I would like to know how do I get exact match when working with Oracle Text.

But I would like to utilize the Oracle Text index. Don't know your db version, but if you slightly redefine your index you can achieve this (at least on my 11g instance) :

How to getJ2ME to work with Oracle Lite

Has anyone tried using J2ME with Oracle Lite for PDA devices. We are trying to build a cross platform application. The handheld app will run on J2ME container (In PDA) . We want to use Oracle Lite , but cannot get J2ME to talk with Oracle Lite. Can someone help ?

Problems getting e-mac to work with AEBS.

I have been having some major problems getting connected to our network. We have most of our e-macs connected to the network via AEBS. The AEBS unit is connected by an ethernet connection. I have been trying to get connection to one of our computers for some time now, without any luck. Last night I finally had some connection, but was still unable to connect to the Internet. I was able to see some of the other base stations in the airport admin utility. I don't know what I did any different though to get the base station to recognize other base stations. I am really at a loss as to what to do to get connection.
I have noticed that under system preferences, when I try to use DHCP, I am given a self-assigned ip address. I can put the ip address in manually. I also put the router in manually.
I guess one of my questions would be how should I set up the base station and how should I set up the e-mac DHCP services? I currently have DHCP set up on the e-mac using Airport. I have the base station set up with the ethernet connection plugged into the LAN connector. This is the way that our other computers seem to be set up.
I have heard talk about setting up WDS on the base station, but none of the other computers are set up this way and still receive connection to the Internet. If I were to set up WDS, what would I need to do? I still would like to connect by using ethernet connection to the base station.

OK, that is different that what I understood from your previous posts.
I have the ethernet connection plugged into the LAN port on the back of the aebs.
That is OK if there is another router on your network providing IP addresses AND this AEBS is configured so that the option to distribute IP addresses is DISABLED.
Otherwise, it should be plugged into the WAN port.
...so should I have the e-mac set up using Airport to get connection to the aebs?
The eMac should be set to use AirPort and DHCP to get an IP address.

Just got Comcast Cable and everything works: phone, WiFi, and TV, BUT ethernet won;t work with my power mac tower running 10.5.8 . Hooked modem to laptop running Microsoft and no problem, but it won't work with my Mac. Any solutions out there?

For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

Problems working with Oracle Lite

I have read that there are some limitations working with olite. What can I do to solve them, when I work with Buissness componentes?

I am having a similar problem, where I couldn't connect to Oracle 8i database (817). I am getting a error message when I tried to use Packaging Wizard -> Snapshot -> Import -> Username/password and jdbc:oracle:oci8:@connect string or jdbc:oracle:thin:@host:1521:Sid
The error message is 'No Suitable Driver. Make Sure the Proper JDBC drive for "jdbc:oracle:oci8i:@<connect string>" is in the classpath"

Problem Connecting Developer Suite Form 9 with Oracle 9i Database

I have a problem to connect Developer Suite Release 2 forms 9 with Oracle 9i database release 1. I have done net8 easy configuration but no success. The error is ORA-12514 TNS: Listener could not resolve SERVICE_NAME given in connect descriptor. I am not using any application server. Can any one help me to solve this problem.

Configure the net configuration for both 9idb and 9ids in the same way. Make sure the TNSlisner is started.

Problem with Oracle Lite 4.0.3.0.0 (BPEL Process Manager)

during the installation of Oracle BPEL Process Manager, Oracle Lite (4.0.3.0.0) is installed by default, so i've decided to go with it.
however when i tried to create a database connection thru the wizard it says:
unable to find driver: oracle.lite.poljdbc.POLJDBCDriver
i need to be able to do this because i want to use the database adapter as a partner-link.
how do i fix this? what do i have to do so that it can locate this driver
there's no problem using the command-line 'msql'
please help!

Problem Installing IDES 4.7 SR1 with Oracle 9.2.0.1.0

I have problems installing SAP IDES 4.7 SR1 with Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 on my desktop pc..I got problems in the very begining when using Oracle Universal installer:
--When I tryied to install Oracle(using Oracle Installer) for the first time I received error - pop up box at 16% with some file 'oraocci9.lib'. I was able to find the file under directory C:\oracle\ora92\oci
lib\msvc but still I wasnt able to continue for some reason..
-- Now when I try to reinstall Oracle from scretch I have even more errors : When I chose 'select the a databse suited to your needs' and chose General Purpose
I got the message:

--Oracle universal Installer doesn't show that I got something to uninstall - but still I got this MTS running?Can someone tell me how to uninstall everything and start from scratch again..

Bfile functionality with oracle lite for Synchronization

In my project requirement, We need to design a standalone version of the applciation which will be used by the marketing people around the globe.
Plan is to use oracle Lite database with this application, as it synchronises with the main server on demand. During our testing we found that Oracle lite do the data transfer /synchronization perfectly but have problem with bfile type data. Precisely, the only problem we are facing is how to synchronize the file which are there on the server as bfile type. As per my info Bfile is not supported by the oracle Lite.
Any clue will be appreciated.

Well Yeah! you are right and thru packaging, we can have the files downloaded but for me its a work around. Let em explain my situation again.
I have user specific set of files for each of its client which again gets updated quarterly. If I keep this data in the package I'll have to keep 'n' number of files in the package as about 300 odd user will be on field maintaining number of user. Another problem would be to publish and package every quarter. Thired problem would be of downloading this application as size will be too high and relevant data for each of the user would be hardly 10% of the size of the application for each user.
I hope I have clarified the situation. Pl. let me know if you need any more info.

2. Restart the container to make sure that server.xml was updated correctly.
3. From the configtools.log file find the opmn port number, for example:

dimak.au.oracle.com - is the machine name and
6012 - port number
4. Launch a new command prompt
and set path and classpath, for example:
set PATH=$ORACLE_HOME\jdk\bin;%PATH%
set classpath=.
where in the classpath there is only one entry - the dot, which stands for the current directory.
5. change directory to the following:
$ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\home
and run the following command (written all on one line) to deploy the DbAdapter:
java -jar admin_client.jar deployer:oc4j:opmn://dimak.au.oracle.com:6012/test oc4jadmin
manager1 -deploy -file $ORACLE_HOME\integration\esb\lib\DBAdapter.rar -deploymentName
DbAdapter2 -parent default
where
* dimak.au.oracle.com should be substituted with your machine name
* 6012 should be substituted with your port which you found in step 3
* test is the name of the container you want to deploy the adapter to
* manager1 should be substituted with your oc4jadmin password
* $ORACLE_HOME\integration\esb\lib\DBAdapter.rar is the location of the DBAdapter.rar file
* deploymentName DbAdapter2 - should be different from DbAdapter, as that name is already used in the OC4J_SOA container.

Starting with Oracle Lite, help needed

Hi everybody,
I have a desktop application written in Java which connects to a Oracle 10g database and I want to use the same application on ultramobile devices under WinXP. These devices will use the application offline and then will synchronize with the DB.
As far as I know, I need Oracle Database Lite on mobile devices for getting database snapshots and track offline changes. I want to know if I need to install the Mobile Server for managing data synchronization between mobile devices and DB.
Do I need to develop a web-app for managing data synchronization or there is a easier way to sinchronize in this case using only the desktop application?

You want to look at Win32 applications. There are APIs in multiple programming languages that utilize the Oracle Lite Sync API to sync, or you can just use the mSync tool.

Bad Performance with Oracle Lite 4.0.1

I have a table in Oracle Lite with 17000 records and 110 fields. A SELECT on this table needs 1 minute to finish. The same table and query only needs 1 second on Oracle 8i Server. MSDE also needs 1 second. All the relevant fields are indexed. Are there any parameters in Oracle Lite that we can tweak? Is there something else I'm forgetting?

Jsf application with oracle lite webtogo

i have developed an application using jsf-adf bc technology in jdeveloper and then deployed it on mobile server.During development connected it to a oracle database .Before deployment changed the database connection to oracle lite using jdbc:polite:webtogo in application module configurations.But this application when opened in oracle lite client OC4J is not showing up.Please tell me how the connection has to be made to oracle lite database before deployment in jdeveloper so that the application works on the oracle lite OC4J client.

Olregister with oracle Lite 10.3.0.3.0

Hi,
Is anyone here using olregister.exe in command line on win32 client? This utility is to change the user registred on a client device.
I tried to use the syntax provided in the documentation but the GUI always pop-up.
Here is what they say in Oracle Lite Doc :
Alternatively, you can execute olregister.exe on the command-line. The syntax is as follows:
olregister.exe /deregister=yes
olregister.exe /register=yes /user=<username> /password=<pwd> /server=<URL>

I will raise a BUg in Oracle. We cannot use the GUI it must be an automatic process..
I will update this thread when I get an answer fro Oracle.
