Re Publishing doesn't update changes

I have only recently published my website using iweb 09. however when i made some changes (added text/shadoe and a couple of links) i clicked publish again, received the confirmation message, but when i visit the website on safari the changes just don't appear...
Please can anyone help?
thanks, Henry

the index.html has definately been moved and i think something has been deleted from the public ftp and public html folders. isn't there anyway of resetting it?
You will need to ask your host to do any resetting.
Otherwise, you should just need to upload the index.html file and the sitename folder produced by iweb to the public_html folder.
When things don't seem to update, a common cause is that you are not uploading your new files but have your ftp app erroneously pointed at the old ones. Try publishing to your desktop so you know exactly where your new files are.

  • Title page doesn't update/change

Ok, it seems like this happened before in CS4 but I didn't try to fix it. Now I'm on a killer new machine with CS5 and it's doing it again.
I create a title, I then later change the color or anything about it and it doesn't change after i exit out of the title page window where I change it, it will change in there but when I exit out of it the change isn't saved.
Man, if it's not one thing it sure as hell is another with premiere. I am soooo close to changing to a new NLE, it's always something wtih Adobe crap.

    thanks for the prompt reply!
    I have a Gygabyte Superclocked GTX 470
I have installed the drivers for it from the disk that came with it, but I'll look and see if there are more current drivers. Should I look at Gygabyte or NVIDIA?
I recall that I started having this problem on my old system with a GTS 8800 video card too, but i didn't try to fix it because I was about to upgrade to CS5, which required me to upgrade my whole system if i was going to take advantage of the mercury playback engine.

  • Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP doesn't update changes

    Hi,
I'm guessing this is a very noob issue so I appologise about that.
As I said, i'm very new to flex and started using it very recently.
This morning I woke up started to make changes in my application. saved them and run them in the browser BUT to my surprise no changes been made.
I tried taking it a little bit further and delete half of the apllication and still when i'm saving and running I get the version of yesterday's application.
I'm guessing that for some reason when I press the run button the browser load the application from cach somwhere.
Do you have an idea what it can be?
    Thanks,
    Ravid

    btw, i'm using Firefox.

  • Tomcat doesn't update my changes

    Hi,
I am using Tomcat 5.0.27 with struts. But when do any changes in any file of my project Tomcat doesn't update those immediately. For each modification I have to restart my Tomcat server, which is painful and time consuming while developing. Can anyone tell me how can I ask Tomcat to auto reload changes without restarting the server?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.
    Jahid

    Hi,
I have been using netbeans 5.5. It was working fine with struts 1.2. But when i tried to implement struts 2, it gave error and it also wasn't providing auto complete feature for struts 2. Here i want to mention that i have added jar(s) in my project acccording the right way. But still it gives errors. That's why I wanted to develop without IDE.
About, Objectweb Lomboz, does that support auto completion and is it easy install struts 2 in it? And does it come with bundled tomcat server, so that I don't have to install tomcat again? Sorry for asking too many questions.

  • Using MassReplaceIt to update changes after publishing in iweb

I've downloaded massreplaceit as suggested by users to update changes after publishing in iweb. i've been told this makes it easier. for example, i have a paypal button that i have to re-do everytime i publish that page on iweb. how do i use massreplaceit to make this easier? i have no idea.
    Thanks

i think you got a bit confused here
No offense Max, but I think you might be confused too
    2. there is no syncing needed for publishing iWeb
    sites or adding PayPal buttons.
Not necessarily true. It depends on how you access your iDisk.
    Method 1:
Turn on local copy of your iDisk in System Prefs, with or without automatic syncing.
If you publish your site via iWeb, now the updated pages exist online but the old pages are on your local iDisk. You need to sync (automatically or manually) to get the new pages on your local iDisk (on your computer).
Then you can open the updated files, make your html changes in Text Edit or whatever program, and SYNC AGAIN (automatically or manually) to update the online version of the site to match what you have just changed on your local iDisk
    Method 2:
Mount the iDisk when needed via the "Go" menu in Finder. This is the ONLINE VERSION of your iDisk, not a local copy. When you publish your site via iWeb, the changes INSTANTLY appear on the iDisk on your desktop. If you make html edits or other changes, they appear INSTANTLY online.
i hope you now are not confused about syncing!

    Hope everybody understands now

  • Application doesn't render the updated changes

    Hi Experts,
When ever I made changes in the abap code / javascript and run the application directly from IE instead of SE80 I can't see the updated changes in the screen, instead scrap dispaly on the screen. It is the behaviour untill I delete all the browser history, temporary files and cookies from the browser and have to close all the IE sessions.
But when I launch the application from the SE80 there won't be issues.
What could be reason for this behaviour.
In my application I didn't use any sessions rather everything works based on the request scope.
Would there be any problem if I don't use session in my application, the reason I didn't use is because I don't need user logoff at any time.
Any suggestion how to get rid of this probelm.
    Regards,
    Chinna.

Supposing you are comparing a debug application on the development machine with a standalone executable on the target machine, the behaviour of them can be different due to additional informations and precautions that are present in the debug application. The best option is to test the executable in the development machine and see if it behaves correctly: if it exposes the same wrong behaviour than on target machine you must check the differences between these two applications. See for example this tip from Wendi L.
If on the contrary the executable runs correctly in the development machine you must double check that execution environment is the same, including support files you are using in both machines. You can also try to remotely debug the program on the target machine, see this tutorial for an explanation of remote debugging facilities included with CVI.

  • Moving files doesn't update Flash Skins in DW CS 4?

    Hello,
on a page I've got a flash movie (.swf with skin (via
importing/converting a qt in adobe media encoder, then importing
video into flash, adding a skin, them exporting to site folder an
    opening in DW CS4).
it works fine in the browsers.
now when I want to change the position of the page in my site
folder (move it into different folder) DW asks me if to update
links, I click okay, but it doesn't update the code/links whatever
(to show me the skin for controlling the movie). What have I
forgotten to consider? Maybe alsready at exporting the file(s) from
    Flash?
    Thanks in advance,
    beatrice

(I will assume you're using the FLVPlayback component in
    Flash)
The .swf that holds the url of the flv (let's call that
    player.swf for
now) uses whatever link you give it. You can give it a root
    relative
location so it will work from anywhere on your site.
    /videos/flvs/film1.flv for example.
And, depending on the object/embed code generated, you should
    be able
to edit that in the code view in DW. Something like
    &streamname=/videos/flvs/film1
And you can then store player.swf in a different location.
    /media/swfs/player.swf for example.
I think DW will update links to player.swf if you move
    player.swf to a
different location, but I don't know if it will update
    object/embed
    code.
However, it seems that .swf files created with the
    FLVPlayback
component are hard-coded to look for the skin file in the
    current
location - that is, the location of the html file with the
    object/embed
    code.

    it seems
    > connected with the html code, but how and why?
Oops. I think I answered this above. I think it is the
    FLVPlayback
component that creates a hard-coded path to the current
    directory.
    > it would mean that once created video holding html pages

    > There must be sth I am missing here...
Again, you can store the player .swf files anywhere, and the
    .flv files
anywhere, but AFAIK, the skin .swf files must be in the same
    folders as
the .html files that reference them.
There's a chance that somebody in the Flash forums has
    created a work-
around, but I haven't been there in a while.
I haven't tested, but you /might/ be able to set a BASE href
    element to
get around it. Of course, all other links in that page would
    need to be
    root relative after doing so.
Another method (if supported by your host) might be using
    .htaccess
    with a rewrite directive.
If you're feeling adventurous, you can edit (a copy of) the
    FLVPlayback
component or one or more of its actionscript files found in
    the
    Flash configuration folder.

  • How to publish only pages with changes?

I am publishing to a folder rather than to MobileMe. Is there a way to publish only files that are new or have changed since last publish?

ThierryR is correct. Publishing to a folder without a previous version in that folder forces iWeb to publish the entire site. Subsequent publishes can be just changed pages. So just leave the site in the folder and keep publishing to it. You can always find which files have been changed by using the sort by date option in the Finder window for the site folder. But you realize that some files is the site's subfolders may be updated also, like css and js files.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • Publishing SCUP 2011 updates to WSUS/SCCM are failing

Hi, i'm using SCUP 2011 to publish some Dell driver updates to my ConfigMgr server. However, after creating a self signed certificate based on the installation instructions publishing updates keeps failing. I'm testing it all on 1 VM with all roles installed
locally: SCCM, WSUS and SCUP. Importing catalogs and assigning them is not an issue. Just when i want to publish a group of assigned updates i keep getting the error stating that publishing has failed. I tried creating a new self signed certificate, tried
to import it in Trusted Publishers and Trusted Root Certification Authorities. Tried using the WSUS self signed certificate to be used in SCUP. However no succes. Below is a snippet of the SCUP logfile. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Doesn't update iCloud ID

My iPhone 3gS, iOS 6.0.1, doesn't update iCloud ID, while it's done on the others Apple device.
Settings >>> iCloud: I have the previous Id, so iCloud on iPhone does't work.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

  • Code doesn't update when uploading new files to website.

code doesn't update when uploading new files to website.   I was using an old DW version for a long time then forced to upgrade when I bought my MacBook Pro. Now when I make changes to my pages and link to new files etc on my harddrive, when i upload the pages it won't image because the code still points to harddrive (this did not used to be a problem)... I manually changed the code on the web host site to point to the site and it loaded fine. But now my files on my harddrive also point to the web host files and now don't image on my computer. I never had to worry about this so far and wonder if the new version has a setting I'm supposed to be aware of so that I can design on my hardrive and upload and it knows that the files are being uploaded with it?  Ugh hpe this makes sense - I'm NOT a webs designer and the new DW is way more than I use in it's technology.

    Hi
This sounds like you have not defined your site in the site definition.
Follow the steps in these 2 tutorials to set-up your site locally and for the remote server -

  • ITunes 10.6 doesn't update illustrations

Hi everyone, since the last two itunes updates i can´t make any changes to my music in my iphone 4s.
I can´t change details in songs or iTunes doesn't update illustrations.
What i'm doing wrong? I'm not a new apple user so...
    any help? Thx

Yep. I assume I have the same problem and it's kind of ticking me off. I haven't tried deselecting the convert higher bit rate songs option because I have a lot of music... But ever since the latest iTunes update, I have found that trying to get artwork assigned to albums on my iPad or iPhone is nearly impossible.

  • TS3920 I have a problem after I lock my iphone or it is automatically locked , the time doesn't update. It just freezes at the last time of locking. Please help , it is iphone 5 running iOS7.1

I have a problem after I lock my iphone or it is automatically locked , the time doesn't update. It just freezes at the last time of locking. Please help , it is iphone 5 running iOS7.1
I check with my service provider as well as I synchronized with iTunes , changed time manually with the right time zone. Unfortunately the problem keeps showing

    Hi Courcoul
    Thanks for stepping by
To tell the truth I forgot to mention that I already did what you said, even more I tried all "reset" options including:
    Reset all settings
    Erase All content and settings
    Reset Network settings
    Etc
    Even
    Reset location and Privacy
    It keeps showing the problem

  • My iTunes doesn't keep track of my listening history anymore. It doesn't update play counts and default "Recently Played" playlist.

My iTunes doesn't keep track of my listening history anymore. It doesn't update play counts and default "Recently Played" playlist. But it still tracking plays from my iPhone and syncing them.
I've tried to repair it with setup file. Nothing's changed.
Can you help me with that?
NOTE: Now I tried disabling the crossfade feature and it worked, started to count again. But I like crossfade, I don't want to keep it off.

I think I got this figured out. The playcount does update, but not how the previous iPod models update their playcount. Instead of immediately updating the playcount right after you finish the song like the older iPod models, iPod Touch keeps the updates in memory. The next time you connect to iTunes it'll sync those playcounts in memory to the actual songs itself, effectively updating the playcount of the songs only after connecting to iTunes. I have set my syncing manually. That's why after connecting to iTunes, my playcounts are updated. BUT it doesn't solve the mystery of my Smart Playlist. Even though in iTunes, the correct songs are listed, in the iPod Touch, it shows the old playlist.
Don't you just hate that? It was working fine before on non-iPod touch models. Now we have to live with this new bug. I just hope when they release software 2.0 it fixes these bugs and that they *give it for free!* People shouldn't be charged on something they should have gotten as a support!
