Re: Satallite A200-1AH shuts down automatically - overheating

Hello =)
I have a Satallite A200-1AH. I used it without any problem for 5-6 weeks.
Later than i had to use the recover cd. After that it started to heat up somehow...
Even if dont use any complex program it just becames too hot. I can hear the fan is working, not sure if its working properly.
Now i can use my laptop only with my cooler pad. Else it keeps shuting down itself (i guess cuz of the heat).
I didn't try to use recover cd again.
I send it to garantie service, they said "fan settings done again" But it keeps heating up ^^
First of all i need a program for check if my fan works properly.
If its need to know how to fix it =)
And if my fan is working properly what else could couse this heat up?

>Later than I had to use the recover cd. After that it started to heat up somehow
This is very strange and to be honest I dont believe that the recovery CD could affect the notebooks cooling modules. Fact is that the SAME Toshiba image was preinstalled on you notebook. It makes no sense
Usually the notebooks overheat because the ventilators and cooling modules dont work as it should.
Your notebook is not very old so I dont think the dust and debris could prevent the cooling modules from notebook cooling.
In your case I would recommend you to contact the ASP again and to explain the whole situation.
The notebook should be checked again possibly the whole cooling system must be checked and possibly replaced
PS; there are no programs which could check if the fan is working properly or not.

  • Satellite A200 shuts down automatically

My Satellite A200 is less than 10 months old but it has started to just shut down all of a sudden without warning.
When I try to turn it back on it often doesn't reach the Vista screen before powering off again.
Interestingly, when I remove the charger cable it seems to be able to boot up and survive at least for a longer duration.
    Any ideas please?

    Hi
I think the notebook shuts down automatically due to a higher internal temperature.
The point is that such notebooks supports a overheating protection and if the temperature increases to a critical level, the notebook shuts down automatically to prevent the hardware from damage.
In most cases the air cannot circulate properly due to clogged cooling grilles and therefore the temperature increases to a higher level.
In my opinion the cooling ventilators should be cleaned up.
The compressed air spray is a professional tool which could helps you to get rid of dust and debris.

  • Satellite M100 shuts down automatically after about 10min

    Hey there guys :)
My Toshiba Laptop has been powering off abrubptly and on it's own lately.
When I turn my Laptop on, everything appears fine, battery if fully charged, AC adapter plugged in etc. However, after about 10 minutes of use it will just turn off and make a little 'zoip' noise or similar. Turning the laptop back on right after works, but I find that it will only stay on for about 4 minutes before doing the same. Turning it back on again reduces the time it stays on, sometimes not even going past the boot sequence.
However, if I leave it alone for a couple of hours and come back to it, it will stay on for about 10 minutes again, before going thru the same process.
I have a waranty, but I'm hesitant in taking my laptop in because I don't want to lose my files.
So I am hoping someone here has a fix for my problem :)
    Thank you,
    Osman

    Hi
Sorry to said it but in my opinion its a hardware problem. This strange notebook behavior seems to be a simply overheating!
The notebook supports an overheating protection to prevent the hardware from the damage.
If the temperature increases to the higher level the notebook shuts down automatically. This is a fact and nothing unusual in such case.
Mostly the fan cleaning helps but sometimes the notebook must be opened for professional cleaning. But note: I dont recommend opening or removing any cases! You would lose the warranty!!!
Maybe a simple vacuuming would make the job.
Anyway, you said you will not lose the data on your HDD. Well, I wonder why you dont create an data backup You can also remove the HDD and connect it via external USB controller to the second PC and could save the files on the other HDD.
After this procedure you should put the HDD again into the notebook and try to reinstall the OS.
If it does not help I would recommend taking the warranty.

  • Portege R500 shuts down automatically

Portege R500 shuts down automatically when connected to mains power for a certain period.
Happens on both Toshiba power cable and igo juice cable. Tends to happen when it gets hot, with and without battery connected.
Yellow power light flashes 2 long, 2 short, 1 long, 3 short. Only way to reset is to take out power cable and battery.
Used to happen after being connected for a while and will only operate on mains power after a long wait.
Now happening more often, even if connection to laptop is not hot.
This is the 3rd generation of this laptop I have had over the past 10 years and with mid-life memory upgrade they seem to be very robust and this is the only fundamental problem I have come across.
    Does anybody have any fixes?

    Hi
The blinking code means that a hardware problem has been detected on the motherboard.
Therefore I think that this could be an hardware related issue and not an overheating issue
    But nothing is impossible
You could try to clean the cooling modules/fans using an compressed air spray
This would help you to remove the dust from the notebook cooling grilles
This workaround is very useful if the notebooks temperature is too high and if the notebook shuts down automatically in order to prevent the hardware parts from damage
    Check and try this out

Adobe Reader is free. It always has been.
You have obviously downloaded and installed Acrobat (30 day trial version) and the trial period has expired.
You need to uninstall Acrobat (using the Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features [Vista/7])
Then run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
to completely remove the Acrobat installer files.
Then download Reader 9, install it, and go about reading PDFs for free.
EDIT: Please, please please.... do NOT post a phone number in the forums.
You're inviting trouble if you do.
Not everyone who reads these pages is here to help fellow Adobe product users.

Most likely you have another WebLogic instance already listening on 7001.

How long are you leaving it on the charger?
Are you connecting it directly to an electrical outlet or trying to charge via USB?  USB may not provide enough power to adequately charge the device if the battery is that low.
If none of that helps, then the only option would be a warranty replacement as either the battery or system board is bad.

  • MacBook shut down automatically when rebooting

I have The following problem after installing mac osx lion on my Mac book:   The computer shuts down automatically few seconds after i reboot The computer.   Please help. I checked The disk utility but there are nô errors on The disk.

    Hi
Have you solve your problem yet?  Mine was the same - it's Dockables "fault"
Were you able to boot into Safe Mode, by pressing and holding Shift key at Start up, I think you need to press and hold a while, till you see a progress bar below the Apple logo.
Then you can quickly go and delete all the Dockables.
If you found another way to boot up, also delete Dockables immediately.
    Cheers

  • Phone shut down automatically

my phone just shut down automatically and i've just bought in not more than a month !! OmG
And now i cant switch it on ... How?

First plug it into a charger and wait at least 15 to 20 minutes to give the battery some charge in case the battery has completely discharged.
Then press both the Home and Power On button together for some 15 seconds or so until the apple logo appears (ignore the power off red slider if it appears and keep on holding the buttons).  Let go when the apple logo appears and wait until the iPhone resets and restarts.
    Hope this helps.

  • QuickTime Player Shut Down Automatically!!!!!!?

Recently I purchased the new iMac 27 inch late 2012 with OS X 10.8.4.
Later on, I learned that there is something wrong with QuickTime Player.
Every time when I tried to play a MP4 video, QuickTime Player shut down automatically.
I also cannot create new video, audio, and screen recording.
When I ever tried it, it again shut down by itself.
I saved the error message in TextEdit, and shared it here.
Feel free to take a look, and see if anyone know how to fix it.
    Thank you~

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.
