Read from network problem?

Question

when I use class "URL" to read from Server via a cdma network ,I got a block from BufferedReader.read(char[] cbuf, int off, int len), but this method is not a block method described in jdk document,why ?
Then I use ready() method first ,followed by some or other read method , but I can't get the "-1" that indicating end-of-file,so I don't know when should I stop it ,how can I solve this problem ?

Hmm, try one more thime, sorry for the format but

Here is code I use to read an URL, you could try it and see
if it throws an exception or blocks:
