Read only set for few rows of a column in a table (not ALV)

Hi Gurus,
I have a table with multiple rows and columns. Under a particular column, I have to make few rows as read only, few rows as editable based on a coondition. How can I achieve this. I know how to make the whole column as editable or read only. But I'm not able to achieve few rows in a particular column as editable and few read only. Please give me more detail code.

That you can achieve by creating an attribute isReadOnly of type WDY_BOOLEAN in the context node that you bind to the TABLE. And set isReadOnly attribute based on your condition whether to set readonly or editable for all the context elements.
And in the layout view, for the column which has to be made readOnly or editable, bind the property readOnly to the context attribute isReadOnly.
When you run application, you will see the column as readOnly if the attribute was set to true and editable if it was set to false.

Don't worry. If something was up, OnyX would have given you proper warnings and recommendations. On your next render, can you set the render logging to Extra per Frame Info? Also, if you don't mind, untwirl the render info and see, which parts it is processing. Either the life info reveals long file read and write times or the render log may reveal odd variations in teh per-frame render times. A common problem for instance with multi-processing are the first few frames being rendered very fast, but then a longer gap occuring inbetween because the program chokes on writing too many files at once. Similar patterns sometimes appear with network setups or - ultimately relevant for you - with RAIDs that use large cache drives. In the latter case often reducing or turning off the harddrive's internal cahe using the vendor's configuration tool can improve things...

Is there a way to restrict a user to read-only priv. on the weblogic
console? Either by using acl's or other means.

8.1 has this feature depending on the role that the user is in.

I would recommend deleting the affected movie from your iPad, and redownloading the movie.

How to set the read only property for dynamic ALV column

Hi All,
I have built one dynamiv ALV and I have one name column inside that ALV for which I have to set read only property based on two column fields that exist in the same ALV,say IS_SP and IS_CORP of type boolean.
If any one of the flag is 'X',i have to make that name column as display only and
If both flag are not set,it should be displayed as ediatable column.
I have written one method as INIT_ALV which gets called when ALV is loaded.
Code is as follows:
lr_column_settings ?= wd_this->alv_all_roles.
lt_columns = lr_column_settings->get_columns( ).
LOOP AT lt_columns INTO ls_column.
CASE ls_column-id.
   WHEN <NAMECOLUMN>. "name column which should be editable/display
Create Input Field

     ls_column-r_column->set_cell_editor( lr_uie_input_field_ro ).
    After this,I have to set the read only property based on IS_SP and IS_CORP values,
          CALL METHOD lr_uie_input_field_ro->set_read_only_fieldname
          EXPORTING
            *value = 'IS_SP' or 'IS_CORP'
ENDLOOP.
I dont want to use cell variants also.
Help me to achieve this.

Read only access to few users & RW to others for Web Dynpro App in EP

I am creating few Iviews using custom development and able to display on the EP fine.. Now customers want to have red only to few users and read/write access to few users.. Can any one point me to the right documentation or the steps to be performed to acheinve this.

Please create role/group for WD applciation which you want to assign read/read & write to the users. Access the role/group in WD application and restrict the access to UI Element properties.

Setting read-only property for a RTL inputtext.

I am using JDeveloper version 11.1.2.2.0. In my fusion web application, in the af:inputtext field, if the language is, RTL or LTR the value is displaying according to that. Suppose, if it is English, the value is displaying left to right. If it is, Arabic, the value is displaying from left to right. But if I set the column value is read-only, everything is displaying as left to right. Here is the code of my input text field.

Fields in read-only mode for BP transaction in upgrade from 4.72 to ECC6.0

This is regarding the query for BP transaction in upgrade from 4.72 to ECC 6.0.
While creating BP / Changing BP system is disabling the fields in compnay code & sales area option. There is a SAP not provided 907860; and specified that the proplem is because of the delta customizing.
All the customization settings are as per the note. And the Synchronization Control is also activated. But still the fields are disabled only.
I have checked the field settings also in Cross-Application-Components & Logistic-Genral.
But these are not working for compnay code & sales area data.
please let me know if anyone has faced this type of problem / found any solution on this.

This setting allows you to activate synchronization of BP with R/3. Not maintaining the values may result in certain fields being read-only in BP.

Access read-only LDAP for username/password, Directory Server LDAP for rest

Hello! I keep trying to find documentation on the above, but thus far I have been unable to find something that explains this well (and my attempts at figuring out thus far have failed).
I have a read-only LDAP that is used University wide, and I am not allowed to change how it currently operates. It uses double-bind authentication in that you search for a user to get their DN, then bind to that DN with the users password to see if it was correct.
I'd like to use the above setup to verify a user's credential as well as return some basic information about them (name, email, etc). After this, I'd like to use another freshly installed Directory Server LDAP to manage the roles that seem to be needed for Portal Server (as I cannot write to the original LDAP).
Any help or advice on the above would be appreciated! Thank you.

The authentication you described is the default way LDAP authentication works.
AM Ldap auth-module allows you to 'pull' attributes from the LDAP server you're using for authentication and store it in it's 'amSDK' Directory Server - which is leveraged by Portal Server (if you're talking about Sun's Portal Server).
However this is only done if the profile is created (set 'dynamic profile generation' in auth - service).
As Portal Server does not support the new 'identity repsoistory API' of AM you have to stick to AM's legacy mode when using Portal Server.
To keep the the data in sync (if needed) you have to write a post-auth class.

My requirement is to make a custom form updatable through this responsibility but wth a condition that only the specific custom form should be updatable and rest all other form accessed through read only responsibility be read only. How can i achieve this using form personalization?

I tried override Query Only values through Forms Personalization but it did not work for me. With a bit of determination I might have been able to work around it but no luck on that front.
You can do it this way, although it's a bit cumbersome:
1. Clone every function and menu in the Responsibility
2. In all but your custom function set the Function parameter QUERY_ONLY=YES

How to create a read only access for database

I am developer but willing to lear some of the dba tasks. I would like to know the steps that i need to take to creat a read only access database that is going to be used for the report development.

Tabular Form - Read only condition for certain users

Is it possible to make a select list field in a tabular form read-only to certain users? Here's the situation:
The tabular form lists the users who need to select "Approve" or "Reject" in that field (they are approving or rejecting an engineering change)
I want all of them to see the approval/rejection of their team, but only have access to edit the select list associated with their record.

You could use either "authorisations" tab or "conditional display" for the relevant column attribute.
Report Attributes->Column Attributes->authorisationsIt would be better to have some more detail about what you are trying to get (maybe a quick mock up of the form, for example) but, I can envision something along the lines of the following:
For each approval/rejection field:
1. Create an authorisation appropriate for access to to each approval/rejection field e.g. authorisation scheme "FOO"
2. In the relevant fields column attributes, set the authorisation to "FOO"
3. now create a read only "public" copy of the above field, using the "display as text (based on LOV does not save state)" - set the authorisation for this field as "{NOT FOO}"
(if you don't want to use authorisations, you could build an equivalent using "conditional display" instead, which is basically the same thing, except column specific)
The downside is of course that you're duplicating fields in your query, which creates a bit of redundancy. There may be better ways to achieve this (maybe you could make use of the APEX_ITEM api, for example) but this is fairly easy to set up IMO.

Read-Only Permissions for Everyone?

We're running xServe / Tiger 10.4.11.
We're using ACLs and have all users in a group with Read / Write Permissions. Across the board, no matter who creates a new document or directory, anytime a new file is created it's permissions are Read-Only for everyone except the author.
I've checked the permissions in the ACL and everything is set to Read / Write. So why are the permissions defaulting to Read-Only?

You could have a look at the thread below. Lucas used ProcMon that shows an access denied with the user which he was using. Permission via group wasn't enough. Give your user full share/security access and everything works fine.
