Reader API for Android
Does Reader API (http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/digitalpublishingsuite/ReadingSDK-2.27/docs/index.html) work in Android? If yes, since which version.
Does it work in R25 already?
Especially we wanted to use the feature to access the entitlement status within a web view.
Thank you,
Richard
The Reading API is iOS only at this stage.

Hi, I'm an Android developer beginner. I need my App to view pdf files without calling an external viewer. I found several pdf vierver source code solutions, but none of them is "Adobe Official". Is there any official Android pdf viewing API? How about iOS? Thanks.

JavaScript in Adobe Reader app for Android
How long to get the Adobe Reader app for Android will support JavaScript code? In addition to the password, I need to put the expiration day on my PDFs to close the backdoor.
ThanksHi,
Many thanks for getting back to me. A reset all fields would certainly
save a great deal of time on forms that are used over and over!
Something else that I've noticed is the fact that when you flick through
the pages of .pdf documents, there are sometimes white blank pages. You
need to scroll back and forth to get them all to load and sometimes even
after they have loaded, when you scroll back and forth again other pages
are blank.
I am using the latest Samsung Note Pro tablet with 2 x quad core
processors so I can't blame outdated technology.
Do you have any ideas as to how to solve this problem?
Many thanks again for your help.

Acrobat Reader DC for Android &Javascripts in form cells
Acrobat Reader DC for Android is not taking in consideration most of the Javascripts in form cells ( scripts were all produced in Acrobat XI) Worked fine in Reader 11.7.2 pre-DC for Android... Do you have any suggestions? he issue seems to be fairly general, since only my most simple script for adding times together is working, none of the others, no matter what they do...
Sample already provided in one of my prev. posts, although the issue was different.
Regards: Robert BartokHi Mevish,
I had this issue earlier also with Acrobat Reader 11.7.2 on Lollipop 5.02
but after a system component update the issue "sorted itself out"... right
now I tried to run this on a Galaxy s6 Android 5.02, Acrobat DC fails, and
at the same time, on the same phone Acrobat 11.7.2 (pre DC) succeeds. This
is the case also with my other forms.
Thanks for getting back to me. I'll try to get my hands on a 5.1 v.
Android.

Is there an Adobe digital reader edition for Android?
Help
Does anyone know if there is an Adobe digital edition reader for Android? You're not the first person to mix up Adobe Reader and Adobe Digital Editions, and you won't be the last. I'd love to know why it happens though. Here is the Adobe Digital Editions forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/adobe_digital_editions

I have a Verizon-branded Samsung Galaxy S5, which means a lot of Verizon apps were added from the factory install.
Recently I upgraded Adobe Acrobat Reader to its most recent version.
When I clicked on the floating action button to open a PDF, it launched Verizon Cloud instead of showing my file directory.
Unless I disabled Verizon Cloud altogether, every time I did this, I would get the Verizon Cloud app instead of a file listing.
Reader DC is the only app that does such a thing. Is this a defect? Thanks for the information.
To remove the Verizon cloud storage from Adobe Acrobat DC application, you can 'Turn off' the Verizon cloud application from 'Settings'-->'Application Manager'-->'All applications'. After doing this, every time you tap on the Floating Action button, you will be presented the list of all your pdf files on your device.
If you would like to view both the Verizon cloud based files as well as files from your internal memory/SD card, I would request you to download some file manager application from the Google Play Store such as And Explorer, ES File Explorer etc. After doing this, whenever you will tap on the floating action button, you will be provided an option to open the files either from the Verizon cloud or the files on your device.
Hope this helps. Please let us know if you observe any more issues.
Thanks. -
Feature Requests - Adobe Reader for Android
Adobe Reader for Android is a good start, it renders well (and renders 2 pages at a time), and the UI is nice, but there are some missing features.
Please can we have the following features added in the next update;
# Bookmark support, including the ability to create and modify bookmarks.
# A method of jumping to a specific page in the document
# Ability to share the file by email
# Ability to copy text
# A method of searching text in the document
Thanks for the app, it looks promising, but needs the above features added to be a better app than Repligo Reader. My company is anxiously looking to find out if you will be supporti
ng XFDF, FDF features so we may display and submit forms on Android Tablets!
The marriage of Adobe Forms, the Web and Tablets blows the doors open to numerous new applications and markets and squarely puts Adobe as the focal point of such solutions.
Our software has been PC-based and the 75% of our solution is usable for the tablet market. The other 25% of our functionality relies on displaying and completing Adobe forms over the web. Our customers are BEGGING for it.
So can you PLEASE PROOVIDE INSIGHT AS TO IF/WHEN you would be including full form functionality in the READER product for Android?
Many of us ANXIOUSLY await your resonse! Thanks. -
Javascript won't work - JavaScript for Reader Mobile API Reference (Android)
I have created a Form with the new Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (trial version).
The Javascript code just won't work on a mobile phone.
Doc - JavaScript for Reader Mobile API Reference (Android this shows that what I want to do is supported.
But not even the simplest command will work on my phone. (I am using Adobe Acrobat DC - PDF reader for Android)
Any suggestions of what I could be doing wrong?
Best,
MennoA Doc.getField() should work.. Try small steps: Create a document with two fields (e.g. Text1 and Text2), then create a custom calculation script for Text2 that uses the following code:
event.value = this.getField("Text1").value;
Does this copy the data you enter in Text1 to Text2?
Then, add a third field ("Text3") and a button with the following MouseUp JavaScript action:
this.getField("Text3").value = this.getField("Text1").value;
Does this work? It actually works for me. To save you some work, here is a link to the test file I've used: http://khkonsulting.com/files/AUC/AndroidTest.pdf -

Hi guys,
Title covers largely what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to create an app in Android Studio that uses the Office365 for Android API (https://github.com/OfficeDev/O365-Android-Start).
In this app i want to bind calander events to Locations that i create in Exchange online. Is this possible? If so, how? Have not been succesful in finding in any information on the issue so far.
At the moment when the user wants to create an event, the user just types in the "location", but this is just a string and not bound to anything. I would prefer to get a dropdown of all the room resources I have on Exchange and that this will make
that the location. This to prevent 2 seperate meetings happening in the same room at the same time.
(Was sent here from the O365-forums, so sorry if this is a misplaced post)
Thanks for any and all help.
MathiasSo then I'm guessing you want to be able to retrieve the list of resources in the address book? If the Exchange admins have configured room lists, you could use those:

How do I move a file from "Recents" in Adobe Reader for Android to a folder in "Documents"?
How do I move a file from "Recents" in Adobe Reader for Android to a folder in "Documents"?
Files from Google Drive are appearing in "Recents" where I cannot organize them hierarchically.
I cannot find a user manual for Adobe Reader for Android with this level of detail.Hi John,
Files opened via Google Drive are not listed in ‘Documents' section of Adobe Reader, because they are read only files. If you really want to save these files to ’Documents' then please follow below steps -
Open the file from Google drive in Adobe Reader.
Tap on the Comment icon placed at top toolbar(Second icon from the beginning)
You would encounter a 'Read-Only document’ dialog, tap on Save button.
Once you performed above steps , your file will be saved in /Download/Adobe Reader/ folder.
Hope this will solve your problem.
Thanks,

Launch Adobe Reader for Android via Intent in Read-Only mode
One issue I've bumped into recently with respect to launching Adobe Reader for Android via an ACTION_VIEW intent is that fillable forms can apparently always be filled and saved, thus modifying the original file. That may be wonderful in many applications, but I have a situation where I would really not like users to be able to make any changes to the document (i.e. filling in fields and saving) at the current time.
I am assuming that there is currently no Intent option to open a PDF in Adobe Reader in true read-only mode (preferably such that fillable fields wouldn't even be fillable).
For now, I'll probably just have to point to a copy of the file, but it would be more convenient to have a handful of properly-documented options for launching read-only via an Intent.GoodReader ($4.99), ezPDF Reader ($2.99) and PDF Expert ($9.99) are well rated and support many more features.

How can I copy or print all text highlights in Adobe Reader for Android?
I read many tech books as pdfs. And highlight the parts I want to note.
Since I am now reading them on an Android Tablet using Adobe Reader for Android, I need to find a way to move my highlights to a separate doc when I am done reading. I don't see instructions for this anywhere.
How can I copy all text highlights at once from a document?
And / or
How can I print all text highlights from a document?

Kindle Reader will let me do that with Kindle books and docs that I buy from
Amazon, but not with personal docs (such as pdfs) that I import, unfortunately.
Is a VERY useful feature! -
Adobe Reader for Android - Arabic support issue
Dear Support,
I am trying to reach the developer for long time but the email provided is a mailing list which no one else has the right to post to it except their team.
There is a big problem with Arabic words searching in an Arabic PDF file with adobe Reader for android. To search for a word, I have to write the words backward, like instead of "Adobe" I have to write "ebodA" but in Arabic language. I know that your app developers are Indians, but please let an Arabic person show you how he can't search for a word in an Arabic PDF file. Please fix it urgently. it is very important for the Arabic language readers. Thanks for your action.

Using an existing PDF file to create an editable form that I can update on my tablet as I go, but when I open the file on my tablet (using Adobe Reader for Android), it only shows the blue editable fields that I've created, but not the actual form that's supposed to be behind it. However, it views properly on my PC. Am I not saving it out correctly?
Please share the sample file with me. I am sending you instruction via private message.
