I have a form that I have created in Livecycle that will sit on our company's intranet. I want to be able to audit particular fields on the form (at the end of each month) by collecting the user's responses and presenting the responses in a spreadsheet. Is there a good example / tutorial available that runs through the process of achieving this?

Data (XML) can be retrieved from PDF at server side using Form Data Integration Service -> Export Data opeartion.
Or the data can be exported using Adobe Reader / Acrobat (provided the form should have the proper Usage Rights)
Perhaps, if the users opens the form from Intranet, fills it and submits the data through email, any server program (Java/.Net) can manipulate the XML and collect the information from specific nodes as it requires.
If you can determine a way, I would able to clarify the solution a bit deeper.

What is best method to retrieve data from two databases

I'm writing a report that needs data from two sql databases. Not the same brand. Grouping and sorting fields come from both databases, so I can't just read one and retrieve data from the other. It seems to me I have to extract data from each data base using crystal reports, merge the two files using crystal reports and feed the merged file into crystal reports. I've not found a simpler or better method in the Crystal Reports documentation. Is there documentation about doing this process on the web site or with crystal reports documentation? My method seems cumbersome so I'm wondering if there is a better method.

A cheap and effective solution, for a periodic transfer would be using XML.
If you have the DDL for all of the objects in the database, you can just duplicate it on whatever RDBMS engine you want, and then, extract the data, table per table into XML files from the target server, and then load the files into the target server.
Otherwise, if you are going to do this in an ongoing basis, then, use SAP Replication Server. The best asynchronous, real time, heterogeous replication solution in the industry, exploited with a great deal of success by many critical mission financial applications with global topologies and sub second latency.

I'm trying to retrieve data from a read-only Excel file. I used the same code that I used to retrieve data from a normal Excel file, but it can't work.

How to Retrieve data from database into another form ?

Good Day!
Am currently new at JSP. I've been studying it for awhile and still getting the hang of it. We are working on a project.
Editing a given data. We have to retrieve the given data and post it to another form "Editing form".
Since we can retrieve data using JSP but how are we going to post it to another form? I mean how are we going to transfer data from one form to another?
Can anyone help me with codes please..

The client is a web browser.
The client submits a request (click a link, visit a form)
The server gets to respond to this
- look at request parameters from the client
- access database
- produce resulting html page
- send page back to client.
The standard pattern is to retrieve data from the database in java code, and then load that data into a bean.
You then make that bean available as an attribute
It is then available for use in your JSP - either <jsp:useBean> tag or using ${ELexpressions}
All you can pass from the client to the server is request parameters - which are always strings.
Draw a picture of where the information is, and the information flows. Very rarely does it go directly from one "form" to another.

Retrieve data from a dynamic page via loadURL

Hello.
I would like to ask you how it is possible to retrieve data
from a dynamic page (asp classic in my case) using the loadURL
method.
I would like to create an html authentication form (with
username and password fields). The loadURL method should call an
asp page and then pass to the usual function 'DoIfSucceded' the
results of the elaboration.
Of course I'm going to have a switch in the function in order
to make different actions depending from the results of the asp
page (authentication succeded or failed).
I had a look to the examples at this page:

loadURL() uses the the XMLHttpRequest Object so if the
content you return is XML, you have 2 choices for accessing your
data. You can either access it as a text string via the
XMLHttpRequest object's responseText property, or as a DOM document
via the XMLHttpRequest object's responseXML property:

How to retrieve data from a jsp page

I have created a page with some text boxes, file, submit button. In my Ist jsp, i am dynamically add Text boxes and File (for Uploading).
In the 2nd jsp, i am used Jakarata FileUpload API. I am able to retrieve all data and files except that value of dynamicall added text boxes. That is, I cannot retrieve data from dynamically added text boxes.
Using Jakarata FileUpload API, i can retrieve values of form data using
getString() method.
I want to know that there is any way or method for retrieving form data values into String Array.

Use parseRequest(request) to get the file information as you already are doing. However, I dont know how you can use request.getParameter("textField1") to get the other fields from the page. My work-around is as follows:
Change your submit button to an ordinary button and add an onClick event to it. Then in the javascript function that supports the onClick, add the textField1 as follows:

MS SQL database needs to run mdx query to analysis services to retrieve data from a BPC 10 Netweaver cube(view only)

We are in the process of migrating from BPC7 SP12 Microsoft sql server to BPC10 netweaver on a sql server with BW7.4 and need to integrate our home grown data warehouse which is on a Microsoft sql server. The data warehouse currently connects to BPC7 using integration services/analysis services and runs mdx queries to analysis services to retrieve data from the BPC7 cube (view only). Please provide documentation on how to create this same integration with our data warehouse using BPC10 netweaver on a sql server.

didn't understand at first glance.Yes I clicked on the options button, but the only thing there is dealing with file extensions. I left it set to the default.
I have since tried closing my connection after I insert a record, I then try executeQuery, but still no luck. Seems strange that I can write to the file but not read from it. If any thing I'd expect the opposite problem.
I have also tried using the class "JoltReport" from the sun tutorial instead of my own with the same result.

Retrieve data from 2 columns of 2 different tables and display in 1 column

Is it possible to retrieve data from 2 different columns of 2 different tables and display it in the same column of a datablock in a form.
For example:
Table A

The column from the datablock in the form should display the following:

You can create a view
select ... from table_a
union
select ... from table_b
and base the block on that.
However, if you want to allow DML on the block it gets more complicated.

Retrieving Data from database to combobox

Can anyone help in retrieving data from database to combobox..
All the names of employees and their designations are stored in database.so i want retrieve them in other page.
both designation and names of employees are comboboxes.
after loading tha page i need to get all the designations which are stored in database in first combobox and when i select a particular designation i need get all tha names of employees of that designation in other combobox.this has to be done using jsp and ajax.

Retrieve data from old broken harddrive

Hi, I want to ask.
Last friday, my harddrive has broken for unknown reason. I knew it has broken from information I got in PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI. The harddrive failed on Extensive Test and Long DST test (Error code : Q8FETV-77C7GA-MPFX0J-61DJ03). I plan to buy a new harddrive.
My question is, can I retrieve my data from the broken harddrive ? I didn't have backups for the data. If it is still possible, what are the steps ? Can I do it by myself or should I get some help from computer service shop to help me ?

Retrieving data from XML containing namespaces?

I am using Yahoo Local Search Service which returns the XML
response. I want to retrieve data from the XML that I received. I

Hi Pranay,
It looks like your problem is indeed to do with the XML
namespace being used.
Try adding this line after the import statements:
namespace yahoo = "urn:yahoo:lcl";
(This is the namespace URI defined in the returned XML)
The result handler should then look like this:

How to increase speed while retrieving data from tableand showing it in pop

Hi,
In one form ,I have used f9 key to retrieve data from table in oracle database . i.e. in any input field in my form, once I press f9 key, it execute JavaScript windows. Open command.
In that command, I called the servlet which retrieves nearly 7000 rows data from table and then it dispatch request to another jsp page which shows the related data in tabular form. The data may contain nearly 7000-8000 rows.
So when I press the f9 keys it takes around 10-12 second to open the page.
Is there any ways to open this pop up windows within 2-3 second once I hit the f9 keys.
Here with I am attaching hole code for servlet and jsp page.
Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

First of all you will have to apply paging to show data in tables. and retrieve only those sets of data which are required. You will defnitely need to do lot of code for that. but i am hopeful, you will get some thing on net.
Second thing you can do is use AJAX. It will show your popup and will keep on loading data simultaneously. You can use JQuery and many others for that.

Hello Nikil,
GP is mainly suitable for offline adobe forms.
As you know, its very simple to read the data from an Adobe interactive form too.
The outline of this process is as below.
1) You can create an interface in SFP with the necessary data types and data elements that you need for your scenario.
2) Use this interface and create an Adobe interactive form in SFP itself.
3) When creating the form, u'll be asked to enter the interface name for the form. give the name of the interface.
4) Once the Adobe livecycle designed opens, you;ll find all the data elements appearing on the dataview of the designer. just drag and drop all the components are per your need.
5) give a submit button with the URL to submit it back to the GP process using %..(.....postprocessorURL...).%
6) Save and activate. Now you can take the XML code from the XML tab and paste it in a note pad and save it as an XDP file.
6) Use this XDP file for creating the CO of type Interactive form and choose the template for XDP file.
7) Choose the option for offline mode and send mail option in the CO creation.
8) include it in the process as needed.
9) The data from the form can be read from parameters of the CO. You can see this in the Parameters tab for the process.
10) Do the mapping as needed and then you can pass the value to the next step.
