Reading configuration files
I have an application that I am testing in Webstart. There are about 9 configuration files that are part of the application that need to be loaded. Because of the way the application is currenlty setup, I cannot put the config files into the main jar file. I must leave them in the directory structure (com.xxxxx.yyyyy.client.config)
The problem is when Webstart tries to start the application, I get a bunch of Unknown Source Errors as if the app cannot see the config files. I have added them to the jnlp script with the arguement tag but I still get the error.
Is there any way to have the jnlp file create a directory in the Webstart Cache folder, copy in these config files and have Webstart see them so the app will run.
I think this is happening due to the FileInputStreamSource designation as opposed to the JarInputStreamSource designator but I may be wrong.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm using a relative path to my .pfx file for both the transportServerCredential and licenseServerCredential in the flashaccess-tenant.xml and my password has been scrambled using the Scrambler.bat.
Also, when I verify setup using http://<LicenseServer>:8080/flashaccessserver/flashaccess/license/v2 I get the message 'License server is setup correctly.'
Any ideas of why the Validator.bat can't read the configuration file?I agree with you that if I can successfully playback content the license serve is setup successfully. Here is what I've tried and how I've set things up:
I have my license server setup (its the Protected Streaming version).
I'm using Adobe Media Server as my content/packaging server. I successfully served Vanilla PHLS sample streams to the sample Adobe Access player on iOS devices.
I have configured the Adobe Media Server to point to the license server and certificates as per the documenation and this Adobe Dev article (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/adobe-media-server/articles/content-protection-using-phds-phls .html). Since I am using a trial version of Adobe Access my .der files are the same for transport and packaging.
I am using the local key mode to remove one more variable (I have setup a remote key server as well).
I have placed a copy of the 'vod-policy.pol' policy file from the reference license server resources directory in my Adobe Media Server 'creds' directory and used the relative path '..creds/vod-policy.pol' in the httpd.conf file.
When I attempt to load the sample stream http://<mymediaserver>/hls-vod/sample2_1000kbps.f4v.m3u8 using the Adobe Access sample player on my iOS device I receive the following errors in the player:
DRM error Major[3363] minor:[0] NSError:(null)]
From my knowledge of working with the Adobe Access Objective C library to create a PhoneGap plugin it appears that a decrypted playlist is not being returned by the Adobe Media Server. Additionally, I can find no information in the Adobe Media Server or Adobe Access logs that pertain to my setup.
I would love to have someone from Adobe speak to the problems I am having. I find the documentation to be hit and miss and most of my successful results during this proofing process have been from piecing together disparate pieces of information and trial and error. Information on using the Adobe Media Server with Adobe Access is limited to one Devnet article (above) and the help in Adobe Media Server that doesn't explain pathing to the license server or Java policy files in any detail.

Last week when the automated upgrade came I said yes and then stopped it midway as it was not a good time to reboot my laptop. Since then, when I try to open it says cannot read configuration file - even when I uninstall and reinstall - still cannot open it with the same error.
Do a clean (re-)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox. -
Cwm won't read configuration files
i built cwm from source and it won't seem to accept configuration. either from ~/.cwmrc or -c /path/file.
i've tried various different .cwmrc's, from full configs to just one bind, but it won't seem to take it.
any tips from cwm users on what i might be doing wrong? google hasn't yielded any answers.Did you build cwm or cwm-git? The plain cwm in the AUR won't read .cwmrc; you need to use cwm-git. If you did not buld from the AUR, where did you get the source?

Could not read Log4j configuration file when I run jar file

I'm using Log4J in my application..
I configure the log4j, as follows;
PropertyConfigurator.configure("properties/logging.properties");and then go on to use it.
The .properties is in the root when I jar my source. I use Ant to Jar the file. It all works good when I run the jar file from ant.
The problem is when I run the jar file by double clicking on it, I get an error
" Could not read configuration file [properties/logging.properties]."
I tried the following options;
PropertyConfigurator.configure("/logging.properties");
PropertyConfigurator.configure("./logging.properties");
PropertyConfigurator.configure("../logging.properties");But in all cases, I get corresponding errors on running the jar file through Ant:
log4j:ERROR Could not read configuration file [logging.properties].
log4j:ERROR Could not read configuration file [./logging.properties].
log4j:ERROR Could not read configuration file [../logging.properties].
I want to be able to run the Jar by double clicking on it or through Ant.. Would any one know how to fix this issue so that I can use both methods..Keep your properties file inside the root folder of your application.It is working fine

Reading Encrypted Password from Configuration File and Decrypt it at login

My application reads a configuration file to connect to the ORACLE database. The values defined for password are clear text as given below:
user: 'mh'
password='abcd1234'
Is there is any way I can give an encrypted password in the configuration file instead of a clear text file and at the time of login ORACLE decrypts it. I am using ORACLE 11g Database.
My company have a requirement that passwords are not stored in the clear in properties files. the reason being I suppose that if the password is stored in plaintext someone could hit the property file directly, get the password and then connect to the database with it.
For a regular user connecting through an Oracle client or SQL Developer they would need to have the plaintext password in order to connect.

� enforce the use of individual passwords
� allow users to select and change their own passwords if appropriate
� enforce a choice of quality passwords
� force regular changes of passwords
� maintain a record of previous user passwords to prevent re-use
� not display passwords when they are being entered
� store password files separately from application system data
� store passwords in encrypted form using a one way encryption algorithm
� alter default vendor passwords following installation of software
So if I can store the password encrypted using a one way algorithm then hacker/user couldn't decrypt it and then access the database.
I have feeling there is a way of configuring this in Oracle advanced Security, but just can't quite get it to work.

Encryption is needed in this case. The decryption must be written into your application. I've written my own in some cases, but finding a library for your development language is a smarter solution.
One alternative is using an Oracle wallet. It doesn't fit every circumstance and does have some maintenance headaches.
You can set up a basic secure password store to encrypt and store the password for a given user@instance combination, and then connect to the database without passing a password. SQL*Net adds in the appropriate password from the wallet for when you connect.

Advanced Security Option also allows you to set up a Public Key Infrastructure connections (SSL encryption and/or authentication). It also uses a wallet to store the SSL certificates and credentials. I don't have personal experience on this approach.

I have written a java program and want to log the messages in a log file , I'm using commons logging with JDK1.4logger as logging subsystem .
I am facing the problem in reading the JDK1.4Logger configuration file which is commons-logging .properties file from my java program as a result my log messages are appearing directly on the screen while I try to run program , during compilation no error is shown . Read and write Values from Configuration File in BizTalk
There is a requirement where Biz talk orchestration read the value dynamically from Config Store.After some process updating the value in config store.
I though to use SQL Server and create one table with single column.Biztalk will call the Storeproc to get the value and similary for update system will call another SP.
Instead of using SQL Server DB is there option to implement this requirement like app.config,BTSsvcxxexe.config ,SSO Config store etc.

Refrain from using BTSConfig file or any custom config file if you have a requirement to update the data. Modifying a
configuration file at runtime can cause some nasty, unexpected behavior inside your application if it's not managed properly.
I would suggest you to use Custom DB or SSO Database in this case.
Both have their Pros and Cons.
SSO Database:
You get out of the box encryption
It is a central store which will service all BizTalk servers within your group
SSO implements a caching mechanism internally for the data
Custom DB:
By storing the configuration in the database you don’t have to worry about consistency of data across servers like you would with a config file.
Cache needs to be implemented by program to avoid delays in reading from physical file.
In your case I recommend to go with SSO DB as in terms of storing custom configuration data in SSO for End Point/Application
specific information and credentials and potentially configuration information which you also need to write and update at runtime from your code or via an administrator.
You can use Richard Seroter's tool to store values as "Config Store" in SSO database and then write a .net helper
utility to retrieve it using SSOConfigStore class. It has method GetConfigInfo and you need to pass application name with other parameters. It returns ConfigurationPropertyBag from where you can read property name and values.

First you take one File Adapter-->Select Read Operation--->Give Incomming file Location ( In local system you can give like C:/temp/NewDir Or Unix Envornment like you can give /temp/NewDir)
After that you can give file Name like wich format it's incomming file name like CSV.txt or CSV.xml after you give Polling Intervels second or Mintued or Hour.You can select Native format or Define service Later once configure all those things the file adapter configration is done . I have a painful problem with Oracle 10g Webgate. I am using Oracle_Access_Manager10_1_4_3_0_linux64_APACHE22_WebGate to procted Apache resource. I have some problem in Custom Authentication plugin. which is not still resolve(https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2549716).
Now I have apply patch BP9 (Oracle_Access_Manager10_1_4_3_0_BP09_Patch_linux64_APACHE22_WebGate) for Webgate, Now I have a new issue, I am unable to get the logon page of OAM when I try to access my Apache resource.
The Error Message in the browser is:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, root@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

Thanks for your help, You are right I have change the permission of /opt/netpoint/webgate/access/oblix/lib/libxmlengine.so.
Now I am able to access the logon page of the access manager.
But the problem as I mention in (https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2549716) my ObSSOCookie value is still loggedcontinue.
My Authentication return (ExecutionStatus.SUCCESS) Successful from the Java Code , and I am unable to login in the application. The thing is I can't manipulate ObSSOCookie from Java code.
I have apply Patch 12363955 to resolve this issue. But this patch is now to resolve this issue.
Have you any idea how to resolve this issue.

Attaching USB Drive - Can't read AP configuration file, kills internet
Current network:
Airport Extreme (Sim Dual-Band)
Mac Pro (wired Ethernet)
MacBook Pro (wired or WiFi N)
MacBook (WiFi N)
2 x iPhones (WiFi G)
Airport Extreme in use for several months with no problems. All Macs can read/write it's configuration.
I hooked up a 1TB My Book USB HD to the Airport Extreme via USB. All three Macs (Mac Pro, MacBook Pro, MacBook) could see and read/write to the new drive. The Airport Extreme appeared in Airport Utility on all three Macs. Wired, WiFi N + G internet continued to work great... however none of the Macs could read the configuration file of the Airport Extreme. If I unplugged the USB drive all the Macs could read and write to the configuration file.
I plugged the USB drive back in and left it overnight. This morning, everything continued to work, with the exception that none of the computers could read the configuration of the AP.
Around 10am today the Macs/iPhones could no longer connect to the internet. I disconnected the USB drive and now the internet works again.Hey David,

I can not open Firefox. I keep getting the message "Failed to read the configuration file. Please contact your system administrator." I have tried uninstalling Firefox and then reinstalling it but without success. What should I do?
Which Fx version? When you uninstalled Fx, did you <b>reboot</b> computer before reinstall?
Also, check for / delete any leftover files in the Fx programs install folders, before reinstall?
Is your profile in the default location or custom location?
Have you tried creating a <u>new, <b>completely</b> clean profile</u> - to test (then make sure to select that profile to start Fx - from the Profile Manager)? (no addons or plugins installed).
Does the user acct (that Fx fails under) have access ("rights") to all locations - especially for Fx profiles location? -
Failed to read the configuration file. Fresh install on windows 7
I have just downloaded and installed firefox on my windows 7 computer. No errors on the install. When I try to launch Firefox I get this dialog box. Configuration Error - Failed to read the configuration file. Please contact your system
administrator.Check for the presence of a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to initialize some prefs.
This also involves the presence of a .js (JScript) file, probably in "defaults\pref" folder, that specifies to process this mozilla.cfg file.
If you have .js files apart from the channel-prefs.js file, that sets app.update.channel, in the defaults\pref folder then open this file in an editor like Notepad and please post its content.
Also please post the content of the mozilla.cfg file.
There shouldn't be a mozilla.fcg file present unless you've created it yourself to initialize some prefs.
If you have this mozilla.cfg file then best is to do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.

I am trying to develop a web application and in my source files I have a thread that loops every second and reads the contents of a configuration file which is in XML form using java.util.Properties.
As soon as I call props.loadFromXML(new FileInputStream(file)); I get several exceptions that I don't know what they mean nor I know how to resolve them.
I would apreciate any help you guys can provide.

Very Sorry Problem Remains... I checked Scanner on a Smaller file (to give u fast feedback) but I think the spaces in Small file were normal.. that is why it worked..
In fact I can feel some word on the blank line (hidden words).. its cursor who evidence their presence so Its not working..
Its a big program which is accessing a lexical resource so I think what I copied was Ok..
If u still have some solutions then please tell me otherwise I have to remove these blank lines manually for the time being but its not solution.
I m trying alsoI don't think anyone can give you an answer: people here don't know how your file looks like. Obviously those lines (when the Scanner instance stops reading) are not just empty lines.
