Reading info dictionary with PDDocGetMetadata() dropped?

Thank you very much for your great work on the Acrobat SDK.
I am trying to store my own custom attributes in a PDF document. I have read several posts in this forum, and understand XMP is the way to go to to do this.
However, I have some documents that already have such attributes in the info dictionary (aka DocInfo, I believe).
For a legacy reason, I would like to read attributes from both XMP and info dictionary.
PDMetadataProcs.h in Acrobat SDK 9.1 mentions a function called PDDocGetMetadata() can read it from both locations.

I have read that Cos functions can be used to read this information. Is such code (maybe sample code) available?

If you want to use BOTH locations - keep using the SetDocInfo/GetDocInfo API calls. The SDK will automatically mirror stuff into XMP.

Unable to read the dictionary of the application or extension...
I had previously installed the HP Color LaserJet 3600 driver from the install CD under Tiger. I recently did an archive and install of Leopard, then ran all the system updates. (Currently at 10.5.5)
When I insert the 3600 CD, though, I get a bunch of jibberish (parts of images, etc.) and a MAC OS X directory. The installer inside that directory attempts to be opened with Script Editor, though, and gives an error: "Unable to read the dictionary of the application or extension because it is not scriptable." followed by "The document 'HP Color LaserJet v5.6.1.069' could not be opened."
Previously this would launch the HP installation program that would install the driver. Now, it's like it's not a recognized program or something. I downloaded the driver from the HP website to try it that way (clj3600MacOSX.dmg) with the same result. The .dmg file opens a disk image with the "HP Color LaserJet v.5.6.1.069" file in it...same result. Cannot open.
I know this program ran fine under Tiger...and a co-worker got it to run after doing an upgrade to Leopard (instead of archive and install.)
When I downloaded the HP 4300 installer dmg, it launches a .mpkg file and Get Info says it's set to open with "Installer (default)". The 3600 file, though is set to open with "Script Editor (default)". I've looked to set it to Installer, but don't know where it is...it's not in Applications or Utilities folder.
I then right clicked on the installer file and selected "Show Package Contents". In the window that was displayed, there was a Contents folder. Inside that folder was a file called "HP Color LaserJet v5.6" with no file extension (Get Info doesn't show an extension either,) but it has a VISE logo. Opening that file launches the VISE installer and performs the setup.
So, by jumping through hoops and getting lucky, I was able to install the driver.
The bigger issue, though, is why the installation CD and/or .dmg file downloaded from HP's website cannot run the installer as usual...why are they set to open with Script Editor as the default application...and how can I fix it so that other disks won't have the same problem?

I have a mac osx 10.411 power pc and recently i downloaded excel for mac 2004 so that i could download some program that only would work if i have excel for mac but what happen was it went to script and said that unable to read the dictionary of the application of the extension because it is not scriptable and the second pop up said the document autorun,inf could not open script editor can not open files in script editor app can any one help me how do i get these program working thank you norro460

I have created a PDF form with multiple drop downs, all with the same drop down values. When I select a value from 1 of the drop down fields, it replicates in all of the others - which I do not want. Can I fix this?
I'm fairly new to this, but I think it has to do with the way you have the drop downs named. Did you copy one then keep pasting it in each field? If so, that is the problem. You should rename each one with a different number: Dropdown1, Dropdown2, etc. I think that might solve the issue.

You have old computers authorized that you are no longer using more than likely.

YannAn instant look-up dictionary would be a huge improvement for Digital Editions, especially since Digital Editions does not allow cut-and-paste which makes the conventional way of looking up words awkward.
An alternative solution would be for Digital Editions to allow the copying of single words of text. But providing instant dictionary look-up would be better. -

How to archive info cube with non-cumulatives values ??

It's regarding archiving, but right now archiving in Info Cube with cumulative values like Info cube movement.
Because it's rather different than other cube due it has marker ..
I've already read from article discussing about archiving, it said i must archive the data before the marker (it's if i'm not having incorrect understanding). But right now, i don't know where the marker is ??
My questions are:

Can Someone tell how can i configure my java dictionary with oracle...Currently if a create a table from my IDE and then deploy it it deploys to the Default SAP DB ...how do i directrly create tables in oracle by just specifying the Deploy option ...

If I have to utilize the services of Java Dictionary in my application i can only use The SAP DB database -- YES
You deploy a dictionary project to create a table in the DB.
When it is a DB created and used by Web AS ,it is possible to create tables in that DB with dictionary project using the standard connection parameters specified in visual admin.
Java Dictionary purpose is to create a DB abstraction by providing a standard interface to create tables whatever the DB used by WebAS maybe.

BUG: ADF BC read-only VO with no Key attrs + af:table
Hello all,
I've got a bug to report - quite easily reproducable with the HR demo schema. To see it:
1). Create a new application from the ADF BC + Faces template
2). Create a read-only VO, use "SELECT employee_id, first_name from employees" and order by "employee_id" - take the defaults for everything - do not set any key attributes.
3). Create an AM, add the VO to it's data model. Turn off AM pooling in the configuration.
4). Create a JSPX page. Drag-drop the VO from the data control palette as an ADF read-only table - with selection
5). Bind the actionlistener of the "submit" button to a backing bean method that just system.out.println's something.
Now, run the app. Try selecting an employee from the first page (records 1-10) and clicking submit - it works. Now, scroll to the second set of records, select one and click submit - no message appears - the action listener is never called. No errors are thrown.
Workaround: ensure the VO has employee_id selected as a key attribute.

Drag and Drop Interaction with 50+ Drop Targets
Hello,
I'm fairly new to Captivate 7 but very familiar with Flash. I'm tasked with a project that I would like to do with the drag and drop interaction widget from Captivate 7. Basically, we need our learners to identify the locations of our resorts on a map. Select the name of the resort, drag and drop it in the city/state or country where located. My question is can Captivate handle this task? To me, it seems as a large task for Captivate to handle, and so I was thinking of coding it in Flash.
Here is what I need:
1.- List of all the properties at bottom with the drop target being a map of the US or world and have the location for each property as the drop target.
2.- When the resort/property is selected, the name will change to the three letter code. Example: New York City, when clicked = NYC and the map itself to reflect the 3 letter code once dropped on the map if correct.
3. If incorrect, the listed item will revert to the long name and return to the list.
4. If this can be graded, it would be best.
I can break the project into different regions but if I wanted to keep all 300+ properties in one module, will it be an issue? At the very least, I would need to do a minimum of about 50 per module.

We are shopping for a new TV but want to make sure it is a device that is compatible with using Air Drop from our iPads/iPhones.
What feature should we look for in a new TV that would ensure it is a capable device with Air Drop?AirDrop isn't compatible with TVs. It is a Mac OS X Lion feature used for transferring files between Macs on the same local network.

Did you mean AirPlay - for sending video and audio to other devices? If so, any TV with a HDMI port is compatible with the AppleTV device which recieves the video and audio and displays it on the TV.
