Reading PDF using File adapter

Hi All,
I went through the blog
/people/sap.user72/blog/2005/07/31/xi-read-data-from-pdf-file-in-sender-adapter to read from PDF. Also I have got all the jar files reqd. I dont know how to proceed. Can you pls help me out. Where I have to deploy the jar files add where I need to use this code?

Hi Jai,
If your requirement is just to transfer a PDF document from one file system to another without any transformation,then probably u can follow these steps, else if you can explain your scenario,it would be helpful.
Do the folllowing:
1. Create a dummy Data Type.
2. Create a Message Type for the Data Type of step 1.
3. Create the outboundand and inbound message interaces using the Message Type of step 2.
4. No Message amd Inteface Mapping is required.
5. In Configuration , create a Receiver Determination, Interface Determination , Sender and Receiver Agreement as usual. But when it comes to Interface Determination, there dont specify any INTERFACE MAPPING.

It seems that there is some issue with the namespace, but even after trying out various combinations, I am not able to resolve this.

I am not sure if there is any easier way, but I tried out the following tool available on the net to check an xml against a xsd:

There were a few issues, that I corrected and finally had a xsd and xml that were matching and valid. I tried this out in my file reading BPEL process, but the error still remained the same!
Here is my updated/simplified xsd and xml:

I even tried the option that is available in JDeveloper to generate a sample xml from a xsd (when in the context of a Transformation activity). The xml generated by this also seems exactly like the one above.
So, I am not able to figure out why my BPEL process errors out with the message Invalid xml document.

Can anyone please let me know how to create a PDF file at the receiving end using a File Receiver Adapter. The source is an XML file. The scenario is as follows.
XML-File ---> XI --->PDF-File.

(1)Is it a .pdf file?
its a .pdx file.This file is generated from Agile PLM side.It consists of DTD information and the actual xml.If i rename it to .xml then its working fine.But i would be getting this file in .pdx format
(2)Its size?
It can be 73 MB
(3)Using a file adapter to pick the file?
Yes
(4)Picking from the local box or a remote one?
For the time being i am picking it up from the local box.But going fwd it shld be from remote
(5)Any firewall being used?
No
(6)Is the schema correct and confirming with right namespaces?
Yes
(7)BPEL version?
10.1.2

How to get the read input file name in bpel process using File Adapter.

I am reading a .txt file from configured directory using File Adapter.
I had configured file adapter to read file with naming pattern “SalesOrder.*\.txt”.
Now I had requirement to access the actual file name in bpel process eg: “SalesOrder123.txt”
How can I get the file name in bpel process.
Any help is appreciated.

1) create a variable of message type. Click on Browse Message type. Here you select Message Type-->Project WSDL Files -->fileAdapterInboundHeader-->Message Types-->Inboundheader_msg. Then click OK
2)Next dbl Click on teh receive Activity which is receing your File from teh File Adapter. Go to the Adapter Tab. Click on Browse variable and select the variable that you had just created above.
This would get the File name in the variable declared

I didn't look at anything else but if you want to write more than one line ever to your file you should change this

out = new FileOutputStream("Calculation.log",true);A quick look at the API reveals the follow constructor FileOutputStream(File file, boolean append) append means should I add on the end of the file or over-write what is there.
By default you over-write. So in our case we say true instead which says add on to what is there.
At the end of that little snippet you shoudl be closing that stream as well.
So where you have
p.close();You should have
p.close();
out.close();

How to get file name using File adapter Sync read

I am using SOA 10.1.3.3 and JDEV 10.1.3.3.
I have an async bpel process.
I have to read file name in this process... so i have used file adapter sync read operation.
How can we get the file name with out payload using sync read.
For normal read (Inbound Spec)we have UseHeaders="true" property.
Is there any property for sync read to read the file name.
Please help me

File Read and Write using File Adapter in Bpel

In Bpel Process i am using File Adapter ( Schema is Opaque) for read and write the file contents. i am able do successful deployment and read, write function in first time deployment, after that again i tired to run the application, its not going to write the content of file, its only writing the file with out data's or content in that file.

Writing XML files using file adapter

Hi All,
I am using Oracle file adapter to write xml files, I am poinitng it to an xsd while specifying schema.The XML files are getting generated with target namespace information and name space prefixes in the xml data elements. I have a specific requirement to create xml files without any namespace/name space prefix tags in it. Can we acheive it using file adapter?
otherwise is there anyother way of doing this in bpel.

What is the name you have entered in sender channel, if you have entered.pdf only it process PDF files. select option skip empty file option in sender channel and enter name ..
most probably this issue coming with empty files.
