Rebuild indexes of all schema in EBS r12.

HI,
Is it possible to rebuilt all schema indexes in EBS r12?
If yes , then please tell us how?
I want ro rebuilt indexes due to very bad EBS performance?
thx

Rebuilding indexes is technically possible, but it typically does not help in fixing EBS (or database) performance issues. Pl post details of your OS, database and EBS versions, along with details of your architecture and what performance issues you are experiencing. There are many threads that have discussed performance issues and ways to troubleshoot. See Re: Disk and memory utilization is 100% on Oracle E-business Suite Application. as an example.
Knowing more details about your environment and its issues will help provide better answers.

  • How to rebuild index from different schema

    Hi All,
I want to rebuild an Index of schema A from Schema B.
Is there any grant needs to be give to Schema B in order to rebuild index of Schema A?
    Thanks,
    Tarak

It is true what P. Forstmann said. However if you don't want to give the second user the ANY priviledge, then you can do a little workaround. Create a small procedure in Schema A that does the rebuild (maybe dynamically). Then grant execute rights on the procedure to Schema B.

  • Query hangs when getting apps schema objecs(Ebs R12) objects from BO Designer

    Hello Guys,
We are facing an issue on Production instance that the query given by BO support hangs when getting the objects from apps schema by login from BO designer.
We are able to get the objects from Ebs 11i instance with the same query. Below is the instances details for Ebs 11i and R12.

  • "Page cannot be displayed" error in EBS R12

    Hi All,
We implemented EBS R12 with 2 Application Node, 2 CM nodes and 2 DB Nodes(RAC). We have also setup load balancer at the application level. We have enabled HTTPS at the load balancer level. Our application works perfectly fine except some of the PIM module related screens and especially Workflow Manager, it gives us "Page Cannot be displayed" error sometime. What we have observed is, Our URL is https://ebs.abcltd.com but when we click on Workflow manager link under Oracle Application Manager, the URL gets redireced to http://ebs.abcltd.com:443/. We would like it know why this redirection is happening? as we have not mentioned this (http://ebs.abcltd.com:443) url in our context file.
    Thanks,
    Prasad

    Hi Prasad,
Can you find any errors in Apache/Workflow/Database log files when this error occur?
Did you verify the session persistence on the load balancer? -- See the documents referenced in this F5 Load Balancer with Oracle 11i.

  • Recommeded way to rebuild Indexes in EBS 11.5.10.2

What is the recommended way to rebuild all the possible indexes for better performance in EBS 11.5.10.2?
Is there any seeded script / concurrent program, that which could be made use of?

I have been using bde_rebuild.sql (available from Metalink) with pretty good success. It seems to work better doing it schema by schema rather than supplying % for schema name (gets hung up and never completes).
bde_rebuild.sql - Validates and rebuilds indexes occupying more space than needed

  • Deleting the all collected optimizer stats for EBS R12

    Hi DBAs,
How I can completely delete the optimizer statistics related to EBS R12 running on database 11.2.0.2. Purge old stats job seems only purging the old concurrent data, not the optimizer statistics.
    Thanks

Why don't you simply run "Gather Schema Statistics" concurrent program again?
How did you identify that the issue with statistics? Have you reviewed Performance Tuning docs? -- https://forums.oracle.com/forums/search.jspa?threadID=&q=Performance+AND+Tuning&objID=c3&dateRange=all&userID=&numResults=15&rankBy=10001

  • Hello all. Where can I find relevant documents on CRM built in EBS R12?

I have searched many websites but failed to find some guide line, white paper or documents on CRM built on EBS R12 edition?
Appreciated if anybody can give me some ideas.
    Thanks

Thanks. I know the document link to EBS application, but I could not find any CRM documents on this link.
I am not sure whether there are some links documents on CRM which built on EBS R12 edition. Please select your application release from the link referenced above and search for CRM -- You should find CRM manuals there ("Oracle Applications CRM System Administrator's Guide").
And Oracle has released the CRM on Demand Release 19. I also not sure it refer to R12 or it is a standalone product.Oracle CRM On Demand Documentation

  • Rebuilding indexes after importing...

My coworker and I are discussing whether it is necessary, or advised, to rebuild indexes after an import of the schema.
My thinking is that the index data is put into fresh blocks thereby creating a very flat index tree without any fragmentation.
But my coworker suspects that perhaps the blocks are built exactly as they existed in the source database.
I could understand, perhaps, if the refresh were done by using RMAN which copies block by block, but even then I'm not sure.
Can you help us understand this please?
    Thanks.
    Ed

    Hi,
Normally, the indexes are build and statistics upfated after the import automatically. You do not ned to generate the statistics after the import until unless you are running very old version of database.

  • EBS R12.1.3 with Apex 4.1.1 Calling a JSP

I am running Apex 4.1.1 using EBS 12.1.3. THe EBS instance is a two tier system (web/application server on a different machine to the database). A glassfish server has been installed on the same server as EBS web server(same linux owner for both) and the Apex listner is running inside glassfish.
I am wanting to call a JSP(located on the web) server from Apex, to get a list of files from a given directory(on the web server) and display the files in the browser using using apex. In other word, a user click on a button/tab... it runs a JSP that returns a list of the files in a given directory and displays them in a tabular format within Apex.
Can this be done, if so how ?
    Thanks

    Hi Pete,
I'm working on integrating EBS R12 and APEX 4.1.1, I had followed the Extending Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 using Oracle Application Express white paper. In the white paper its said that Create Authentication Scheme From scratch, but there is no option to create application scheme from the scratch, but the page showing like this
When you create a new authentication scheme, you have several options. Most let you reuse implementations that already exist in your application or in other applications within your workspace. There are even some pretested schemes you can copy to get you up and running immediately.
    Create Scheme:
Based on a pre-configured scheme from the gallery
As a copy of an existing authentication scheme
You may create a new authentication scheme by making a copy of one in this application or in another application in your workspace. Then you can edit the new scheme, changing the name to what you prefer and changing any of the settings to meet your requirements.
Alternately, you may create a new authentication scheme from scratch by stepping through the wizard and specifying all of the parameters.
How can we create Authentication Scheme using the wizard but there is no option to create via wizard.
Kindly help me because i had no idea and stuck up at this point, is any document you have kindly share with me it would be grateful...
    Thanks,
    Karthik

  • EBS R12.1.1 databse copy windows to windows??

    Hi All,
    I am a report developer. I have two servers(VMs)
    Server1: Win 2008, Oracle EBS R12.1.1.
Server2: Win XP SP3, about to install Oracle 11g R1
My goal is to copy the whole EBS R12.1.1 Vision Instance database (VIS) on Server1 to Server 2 Oracle Database....And please not that I need only data in those schemas - I use that to run ETL scripts, so, on Server2 I am not going to run any EBS Applications(Forms, or reports or others).
In order to do this I am thinking of using http://www.dba-oracle.com/oracle_tips_db_copy.htm, or RMAN method....
    Now my questions are:
    1. Can I used any of the above methods?
    2. If yes, For both the above methods, during the installation of Target Database (Server 2) do I need to select "Create Starter Database (Additional 1482MB)" option? I am in a great disk space crisis so, I prefer not to select that option, but can I follow above clone methods with out creating a starter database in the target system?
    Thanks and regards.

I am in a great disk space crisis so, I prefer not to select that option, but can I follow above clone methods with out creating a starter database in the target system?Even if you do not create a new database, you will end up having the same database size after you copy the files or use RMAN (backup/restore). Your target database size on the target database will be exactly the same database size on the source database.
I would prefer you use one of the following methods instead of RMAN:
    1) Rapid Clone (clone the database tier node only and this is the best option for you) -- Cloning Oracle Applications Release 12 with Rapid Clone [ID 406982.1]
    2) The method in the link referenced by you
    3) Export/Impot (which is time consuming):
    Export/import process for R12 using 11gR1 or 11gR2 [ID 741818.1]
    Export/Import Process for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 using 10gR2 [ID 454616.1]
    Thanks,

  • Oracle EBS R12 performance is very slow...

Our EBS R12 instance performance has become very slow.Users frequently complain of oracle forms taking a long time to open, concurrent taking more than normal time to complete etc.All standard requests like Gather Schema Statistics, Purge Concurrent/Manager Data etc are properly scheduled and complete successfully.Any pointers on how to resolve/diagnose/troubleshoot the slow performance of EBS is urgently needed and will be of much required help.
We have also observed that while starting the EBS database, using addbctl.sh script, the db gets mounted instantly but takes around 3-4 mins to open.We reviewed the alert log file, there are no reported errors as such.
    Server Specifications:
    Processor:3.0 GHz (Single Processor)
    Memory: 16 GB
    OS:RHEL 5.2(x86)
    Regards,

    Hi,
Can you find any errors at the OS level? Any space issue or core dump files generated?
What changes have been done recently?
You should find some guidelines about troubleshooting performance in these threads, please refer to the referenced documents.
