Dear Best Buy,
My name is Arthur.  I am a frequent, loyal/long-time customer, and Best Buy Elite Member.  I recently placed an online order for a Windows/PC game, “South Park Stick of Truth: Grand Wizard Edition (Collectors’ Edition).”  The game has been sold out since its release, early this month, but I excitedly managed to order a copy online from your website and had high expectations/anticipation to be receiving a new/flawless copy, since this is a collectors’ edition.
After waiting about 1 week for its arrival, after I ordered, I received an e-mail notification that my item was ‘ready for pickup.’  I rushed over to Best Buy in Glendora, CA to pickup my item, but to my disappointment, when the Best Buy customer service employee had pulled out my item from under the counter cabinet, I noticed my item had been placed under heavy items at the store location, which resulted in the collectors' edition box of my item being heavily damaged. I brought up the matter to the attention of the customer service person that was assisting me.  She offered to try to find a new item in stock to replace the box; unfortunately, she was unable to locate another new item.  She said she was sorry and that 'there was nothing else she could do to help me, being the item was essentially “out of stock” everywhere at Best Buy.'
I hate to sound like a complainer, but I paid nearly $90.00 for a collectors’ edition product.  For a 'collectors’ edition product', I would have loved to/expected to receive a ‘mint/brand new’ product (including the box) to keep for as long as I own it.  However, this item, sadly, is very damaged and I’m highly disappointed that I spent so much money on what looks like a “used box, damaged item.”  If I had known I was going to receive a damaged product by Best Buy, I would have purchased it on Ebay, Amazon, or somewhere else, with the assurance that I would be receiving a “new, mint condition” product.  
If there is any possible way you can assist me to remedy this situation, I would greatly appreciate it. At this point, I just feel very disappointed, and a bit cheated. I have photos of the damaged box if you need to see substantiation. Not sure I will be ordering such items online from Best Buy again, after today.

Dear Arthur,
I know the excitement and anticipation that builds leading up to picking up a new video game! I am sorry if this feeling had to switch to disappointment and frustration when you received your game damaged.
Normally stores only receive enough stock to fulfill the amount of collector’s edition preorders that customers placed for that store. This could explain the stores inability to replace it. The store associates should have been more careful with the products that were waiting for In-Store Pickup.

    I am curious of what the benefits are from buying from the apple store vs somewhere like Best Buy where you can get the same product for cheaper right now.

    I went to the Apple Store and they certainly know what they are talking about.  I decided which product I wanted and purchased it during their Friday sale.  Now I see that Best Buy has the exact same product for $50 less than the Apple Store sale price.  I'm hoping that maybe I will get better service if I have any issues since i purchased direct from the Apple Store.
    Anyone know if you can still get the same customer service at an Apple Store with a product purchased elsewhere?

  • Best Buy has Zero iPhone4s but the AT&T store NEXT DOOR has 80 (with more arriving!)

    Best Buy in Mount Laurel, NJ (1400 Nixon Drive) has ZERO iPhone 4s as of 6 PM on 6/28. Despite preordering on the 15th and I am still waiting with no word on when my phone will be in.
    So I call the AT&T store that is located NEXT DOOR @ 1420 Nixon Drive. I mean it is literally right next door in the strip mall. I'm told that they received 80 phones today and are expecting a shipment of 60 to 80 MORE phones tomorrow. The rep told me that they will have extra phone for walk-ins, but it's going to be first come-first served, etc.
    I mean, C'MON! It's like a bad joke.
    I've heard the arguement "it's not us, it's Apple" from Best Buy, but I guess I'm not clear on why Best Buy seems to have no leverage to get their pre-orders expedited.
    Heck, I don't understand why Best Buy can't, at minimum, get a straight answer from Apple about where/when Best Buy will be getting replenishment stock.
    As a customer, I don't care who's "fault" it is - in my opinion, it's Best Buy's fault. Obviously, there's no universal shortage of iPhone 4s when the AT&T store is getting extras and Best Buy can't fullfill it's preorders from the 15th.
    IMO, the problem is that Best Buy must have a pretty weak relationship with Apple to be treated this way. As a small business owner, if one of my suppliers was jerking me around like this, I'd sever the relationship. (Sure, I know this is more complex, but the principle is that Best Buy has a bunch of angry customers due to Apple's lack of support. That's a BAD business relationship, when your partners force you to lose crediblilty with customers).
    I'll never pre-order from Best Buy again. But you can blame Apple for that ...

    It simply amazes me that Best Buy continues to point fingers away from themselves.  I understand the RS situation.  They've never been what I'd consider an outlet for this type of situation.  While sad, RS's ineptitude doesn't surprise me.  Best Buy's does.
    That tells me there are more fundamental problems with Best Buy.  They either don't have a good relationship with their vendors (in this case, Apple).  Or, they really don't have a handle on inventory and shipping basics.  Maybe, as has been suggested, there's something amiss with employees taking the customer pre-orders and putting their family and friends in front of them.  Still, this has happened at seemingly every Best Buy store.  That tells me the problems with Best Buy are very widespread.
    As I posted before, I just walked into an AT&T store yesterday and bought a 32GB iPhone 4, no reservations.  Others have reported doing the same.  AT&T probably has fewer stores than Best Buy.  And, from what I can tell, have smaller iPhone stock than Best Buy.  Yet, they handled it much better.
    All pre-orders were filled first.  Then, walk-ups were allowed to buy.  No employees were allowed to buy them, under any circumstance, for anyone, until the customers were taken care of first.  Simple concept.  Apparently, too simple for Best Buy to understand.

    This is not uncommon.   Not all apps are available in all stores, just as not all OSx apps are available in IOS.    The reasons are many, commercial, legal, copyright, whatever but it won't change your position.   If it says not available, then that is the situation.

  • Best Buy Damaged Tv

    I recieved a Samsung 50 inch tv from my mother and father for christmas. The box was unopened and untouched until me and my husband moved into our new place in March. When we opened the box the tv screen was cracked under the styroform. No damage to the outside of the box, or inside but somehow it was cracked. When we took it to the bestbuy store in Simi Valley CA, they at first said no problem we will return it for you. Waited 20 minutes and then was told that no it had to be shipped to the manufacturer. Which was fine. Another 20 minutes later and they took 35$ from us for shipping and then we left the tv with them. 3 hours later they call up and say, oh no actually we can't ship the tv out its too big, and in fact you have to come pick it up TONIGHT BEFORE CLOSING. The actual nerve of them to say that is a complete joke. So we had to come back before closing and pick the tv up. The one that THEY delivered damage and now will do nothing about. The manufacturer wont do anything either because its cracked and it was delievered cracked. So now we are out 600$ and I feel terrible my parents spent that amount of money to be completely wasted. Someone please tell me how you can have damaged goods delievered and not be held responsible. The customer service at Bestbuy is appaling and my family and I will not be buying anything from there again.

    I can imagine little that would be more frustrating than receiving such a fabulous gift as a big, new TV only to find upon unpacking it that it was damaged. It is regrettable that your visit to the Simi Valley store did not result in the action you expected and, instead, added more aggravation to the situation. I apologize for your having to endure such an experience.
    Our friends jxs2 and autotech796 are largely correct in their conclusions: our Return & Exchange Promise allows for the return of a product, defective or otherwise, only within 15 days of the date of purchase (30 days for My Best Buy Elite members and 45 days for Elite Plus members). Outside of that time frame, Best Buy is unable to offer a return or exchange. With that said, I'd like to look into your particular situation in more depth, but will need more information to begin.   • ESO Collectors Edition on truck?

    Hey there, quick question.
    I preordered the Elder Scrolls Online Collector's Edition on Xbox One months upon months ago in my (then) local Best Buy and was wondering. Is there a manifest or log that'll state my game WILL be on the truck next Tuesday? I ask because I recently moved 2 hours away and I want to make sure it'll be there when I get there. Also, my only opportunity to go to the store would be in the morning. That's also why I ask.

  • Error while Editing Item - After importing pagegroup

    Hi All,
    We have Oracle Application server 10g (10.1.2) with Oracle Portal 10.1.2.0.0. as a test environment in win 2000 server.
    We installed a new Oracle Application server 10g (10.1.2) (production) with 10.1.2.0.2 in Suse Linux Enterprise server 9. every thing was fine.
    We have migrated one simple page group from source(win) to a new Portal in Linux ( by following the steps of Portal export / import Doc.). This is by exporting transport set, dmp file in source side and importing dmp file and transport set on the target. The import was successful. I checked the Navigator and found the imported page Group. Also all the sub pages and items have been found with proper regions.
    But when i'm trying to edit any item,region or adding region,item, it shows the following error. -----------------------
    ERROR :General invalidation message processing exception: User-Defined Exception (WWC-40018)
    General invalidation message processing exception: Error invalidating content, Non-200 status code returned by Web Cache. Status: 407 Proxy Authentication Required ( The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy service is denied. ) (WWC-40018)
    Note:Please kindly note that our repository and portal midtier on same machine. So there is no firewall between portal and repository. Also there is no proxy settings given in Portal. Moreover, I reinitialized the webcache invalidator password in both web cache admin and Portal. Nothing is working.
    Please kindly help me in this regard urgently. and provide me the solution along with the navigation details.

    Pls reply me.did your issue resolved regarding webcache wwc-400018 ,same is the problem for me,webachacheadmin and invalidator pages are not working and while editing items in portal does reflect instaed it gives the error

  • Warning messages "You are not a receiver of the work item"...

    Hi Experts,
    We are facing an issue in which couple of users are getting warning messages "You are not a receiver of the work item" in there Portal Inbox. But they are not getting any warning message while accessing the same from R/3 inbox. We tried replicating the issue but it is working fine for us. Is it related to workitems which are of any particular type??? Kindly suggest.....
    Just to add some more thing we have gone through the Forum : UWL workitem error: you are not a receiver of the work item and also the OSS notes: 1133821, but we do not get any appropriate solution.
    Please suggest.

    Yes users are using SSO.
    As suggested I have checked in transaction SU53 and there is no error message for the user i.e. we are getting success message as  "The last authorization check was successful".
    Please suggest what can I try.
    Also adding to this, Warning message which users are getting is not a show stopper i.e. they are able to process workitems successfully.

  • How do you control iCloud.  It uploads music and pictures that i  have deleted and it continues to feed them to my TV. Example, I took a picture of an item in a store that I was considering purchasing.. It is now in I cloud with our family photos

    How do I edit the content in iCloud?  It uploads everything.  If I take a photo of an item in a store that I am interested in, when I come home it will immediately show up on all of my devices.  When I delete it from all of my devices, it remains in icloud only to show up in family photo shows on our television when we have family visiting.  You should be able to delete pictures and music from icloud.  Does anyone know if it is possible and if so how?

    If you delete a photo from the photo stream album on your device, it should also be deleted from photo stream and all other devices connected to your photo stream.  If you're running windows 8, perhaps the problem relates to that as Apple has not indicated that it supports iCloud syncing for windows 8 yet.

    The most frequent RAM vendor recommendations are Crucial.com and MacSales.com (OWC).
    With respect the logic board, you could ask Apple about a "Fixed Price Repair" which will generally repair everything that is wrong with a Mac.

  • South Park Collectors Edition Problem????

    Is there some type of problem with this collectors edition? I got a email today when it doesnt come out until tomorrow that it is no available for pickup. I also called as the email said and the associate told me no other stores had it available for pickup tomorrow and they couldnt change it to have it sent to me via expedited shipping? This is my first time in a long time pre ordering with Bestbuy and this is not a good start. Any information would be appreciated.

  • Website says store clearance item available. Store has two but no one can find them. How's that?

    There's a home theater receiver on clearance at a local store according to the website.  I called the store since we can't purchase these items online anymore for pickup.  The first person I spoke with said they had two.  I asked him to check so I didn't make a 45 minute trip for nothing.  He comes back a few seconds later and says no but what an awesome deal it was.  Strange response.  Makes me think he didn't even check, probalby wanting the item for himself.  Anyways, I called back a few more times over the weekend because the item is still listed as being available.  Everyone says the computer shows two but they can't find them apparently.  I don't believe anyone even took the time look.  So why is the two items still listed on the website as being available?
    Anyways, I really want the item.  If would be nice if someone from Bestbuy would help me out with contacting the store to find the two items.  If their not available then they shouldn't be on the webiste.

  • Number of editable items: Is there limitations?

    I create a page with more then 100 editable fields. The page is diplayed correctly, but I am able to edit only first 99 items (or about 99). If I change display order of regions (or items) - another items become editable (only first 99). Is there a limitations in HTMLDB 2.0? If so, is there any workaround? or I am wrong?

    Hello,
    You have a limit of 99 editable items per page, as each item receiving an internal HTML name tag – starting with p_t01 and go on until p_t99.
    You can define and display more the 99 items on your page, but only the first 99 will be editable. You can read a bit more on that in the following thread: Exceeding 100 items

  • Sniper Elite 3 Collectors Edition pre-order issue

    Hi I'm in need of some help with this game and the subsequent issue surrounding a ghost order with the game. I preordered the game from Bestbuy.com for in-store pickup and after waiting for an email regarding the game I went to the local store to see if they had got it in after release. When going to check my order status I noticed that there was no order to be found. I double checked my debit account and am still seeing a charge for $60.89 which is the correct amount for the game with GCU discount applied. I was informed by bestbuy.com that I would be contacted by back office, but they haven't gotten back to me in the timeframe they layed out. I see the game is purchasable online for PS4 still, but the pre-order content is not available any longer and I'd like some help with that if possible before I make a new order.

    Pre-ordering games on BestBuy.com should be a quick and painless experience. Checking the status of your order should be even easier! However, logging into your account, only to find that your pre-order doesn’t exist in the system, would be understandably frustrating and I’m very sorry to hear this may have occurred with Sniper Elite 3 pre-order. I further apologize for any delay in response you’ve received in regards to your previous contact to us!
    Ghost orders, while very uncommon, can certainly be a cause for confusion, especially if you’re seeing the funds being held on your account. Please know that this is likely just an authorization, as we don’t actually charge your card until the item ships or is picked up in-store. These authorizations will fall off of your account within the timeframe set by your bank. With that said, I’d like to research this further and assist where I can!   • You are not a receiver of the work item in ESS Leave

    Hi,
    We are using standard ESS leave application in our portal, where employee can raise leave and his manager can approve/reject his leave. But I want in case manager rejects the leave, the rejected leave should not come into MSS UWL of employee, we will send a mail to employee and he can again login to ESS leave application and where he will see the rejected leave and he can re apply/change/delete  the rejected leave. We do not want rejected leave to come in UWL of employee as a work item.
    As of now when manager rejects the leave rejected leave of an employee , it is coming in UWL of the employee which we do not want, so what we did, we went to standard leave work flow template WS12300111, in that we double clicked on Task (TS12300116, Process Request by Employee) and in that  we clicked on agent assignment icon and than we clicked on attribute and we selected General forwarding not allowed radio button, by default general task radio button was selected.
    After selecting General forwarding not allowed radio button, even when manager rejects employee leave, rejected leave is not coming in UWL of employee which we want exactly, but another error is coming when employee goes to ESS leave application again and change or delete this rejected leave he is getting the error You are not a receiver of the work item .
    But if we select general task radio button in agent assignment in work flow , than eveything is working fine but employee is getting rejected leave in his UWL, that we do not want  at all, so why after selecting different radio button this error is coming ?
    Why employee is getting this error, why employee can not reapply/change his rejected leave. Is this portal error OR workflow error OR HR configuration error and  what is the solution for this..

    If you need this option then you need to change the WF Task.

    definitions. In that cases  the best think to do is
    create Different Tasks definition (TSxxxxxx) and let they start
    depending on Company Code (That can be driven via Conditions steps in
    the workjflow definition, for example). This will allow you to define
    Just the responsible Agents per each task, depending on the Companny
    Code. This definitively Resolve the Forwarding frelated Question.
