Receiver AS2 Advantco Adapter Content type change

Hi All,
I am working on SFTP to As2(Advantco) scenario. We are sending the txt files to target.
As of now file is sent with content type application/xml. But target system is asking to change it to "application/octet-stream"
In the AS2 adapter guide, there is section 3.4.4.8. MIME Settings which talks about content type change.
Unfortunately i am not seeing that in the receiver channel.
does anyone know how to change the content type for AS2 channel?
Will standard adapter module work on third party adapter? like messageTransformBean
Thanks.

This could be because of adapter metadata is not updated one?
>>> Yes. It's very much possible.
Will standard adapter module work on third party adapter? like messageTransformBean
>>> AFAIK - Advantco adapters does support MTB.

  • SOAP Adapter Content-Type

    Hi,
we move a Interface from BC to XI and now the problem come up that the content type isn't correct anymore.
With BC we Post a request with Content Type <b>application/x-sap.idoc</b> to a specific url.
With XI i use the SOAP Adapter for sending the Idoc structure but now in the header the Content-Type is <b>application/xml</b> is there any possibility to change this in the SOAP Adapter.
Or do i have to use another adapter? Somebody has experience with that?
    Regards,
    Robin

I don't know a standard way to modify the Content-Type.
You can write a custom adapter module that make this:
    From http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cd/5af7c0c994e24fb0d0088443513de2/content.htm
<i>"In the receiver adapter, if you want to add your own modules to process the request message, you add them before the module specified below; if you want to add your own modules to process the response message, you add them after the following module:
    sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.soapadapter/XISOAPAdapterBean"</i>
Or you may try to use the HTTP adapter, there you have the control on content-type

  • SOAP Adapter:  Content Type Issue in WebServices via HTTP

    Hi,
I have configured a Receiver SOAP adapter. When i had to test the message i had an HTTP 415 error.
i found that the sender SOAP adpater that received this message is not capable of handling Content-Type: Application/XML i.e. which is being transmitted by the Receiver SOAP Adapter.
Please let me know how to configure in the Receiver SOAP adapter so that the HTTP Content-Type would be TEXT/XML instead of Application/XML .

  • Updating Word templates in Content Types - changes not appearing automatically

    Hello
I have a SharePoint site where I have existing content types all with MS Word templates assigned to them.  I wish to change the Word template so it looks different.
I have saved my Word template as a .dot file and have edited my content type so it points to the updated template in the 'Advanced' area of the content type properties.  When I look at my template via the 'Edit Template' in the 'advanced' area of the
content type it is fine (as it is when I look at the template file via explorer view) but when I create a new document based on the content type it is referring to the old template.  Furthermore, I have renamed some of the content type names but they
    have not updated either.
Any ideas?  Is there a background process that runs to help with this?

Sorry, just re-visited this and i think i might have missed an obvious answer.
SharePoint tries to protect you from yourself.
That measn that it will not, in some cases, push changes down to lists. For example if you were to delete a column at the site level which is also in place on lists SharePoint won't delete it from the lists.
I'll bet that If you look at the content type at the library level it's showing the old details still.

  • Content type change

    Hi Experts,
I am trying the test the webservice scenario using Webservice Studio tool and getting the below error. I am using ABAP port(Used the default url while creating the wsdl file from ID).

Actually, the service works fine with the Javaport.

  • Changing Content type

    Hi all,
We are trying to post data from XI to a Webservice using SOAP adapter.
XI sends the payload in "application/xml" content type whereas the webservice expects the "text/xml" content type.
Though I have used the standard apdater module "localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean" in the SOAP receiver communication channel, the content type transformation is not happening properly.
Please let me know whether I'm missing out any of the steps.

I do not see anything wrong. Check for typos.
    The parameter should be: Transform.ContentType

  • Update Item when Content Type is changed in the browser

I feel like I might be missing something obvious here - I set up a number of managed content types.  While editing a list item with multiple content types, when a user changes to a different content type using the drop down at the top of the page,
the edits are not saved.  Is there any way to force an update when the user changes content type?  Clicking save returns the user to the list view which means the user needs to edit it again, and navigate to the content type.

    Hi Steve,
Per my understanding, you might want to update item with the input values when content type changed by selecting an option in the “Content Type” drop down menu in
    EditForm.aspx page.
A Content Type is a set of predefined columns, from the perspective of the use of Content Type in a list, it would be easier to maintain per record with only one content
type as an item, this is also a recommended behavior when working with multiple content types in a list.
If you want to take use of columns from multiple content types in an item, a suggestion is that you can create a custom content type with the columns from other content
types you want, then add it into your list.

  • SharePoint 2010 Content Type Hub

    Hi,
I have a Content Type Hub in the SharePoint Server and it is being subscribed to one of the Web application and it’s site collections.
If I make any changes in existing column of the Content Type in Content Type Hub and subscribe to the required site collection, the changes are not being propagated to libraries columns which are part the attached Content Type from the Conte Type Hub.
But the Content Types are being subscribed and changes are available at Site column of the Subscribed Sites but not in the existing Library level.
If I add the New column in CT hub and the new column appears in the existing Library of the subscribed sites.
Please assist me how can I propagate the Content Type changes from CT Hub to the existing Library of the subscribed site?
    Regards,
    Vidya Lokesh

    It's a known issue.
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/b865e6a0-39d8-4aae-9df6-f07ff9d1d96c/content-type-changes-are-not-reflected-in-subscribing-document-libraries?forum=sharepointgeneralprevious
MS chose to avoid pushing down to lists and libraries, presumably to avoid people trashing their systems by making silly changes and pushing them down to thousands of lists and libraries.
The only surefire way is to delete the CT from the list/library and re-add it. You could script something up to do that I guess but I don't know of any examples of it floating about.
PS. You're in the wrong forum, this relates to 2010 not 2013, although in this case that's not a major issue.

  • Manually Running Timer Job "Content Type Subscriber" on SP Online

I need to run the "Content Type Subscriber" timer job on my SP Online instance because the default setting is hourly.  This makes it difficult to build out and deploy content types quickly because depending on when you make the content type
change you have to wait upwards of an hour to see it published.
When will we be able to run timer jobs using the PowerShell cmdlets or some other way?  Is there a recommended approach by MS to handle this scenario?

What you describe is by design, I don't have to use a content type hub to reproduce. Only add a site content type into a list can show this.
    According to
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms463016.aspx
When you add a site content type to a list or library, SharePoint Foundation makes local copies of any columns that are referenced by the content type and adds them to the
list's fields. For more information, see Fields and Field References.
In addition, SharePoint Foundation makes a local copy of the site content type and adds the copy to the content type collection on the list.
The new list content type is a child of the site content type. The value of the
    Id property for
the list content type is different from the value of the Id property for its parent site content type, but otherwise the two content types are initially the same.

  • How to change content-type (text/xml;charset=utf-8)  in SOAP receiver?

    Hi,
How can I change the content-type (text/xml;charset=utf-8) sent by the SOAP adapter to an external webservice?
I need to sent text/xml  as content-type to the webservice, otherwise I get an error.
I have tried with different adapter modules but so far no positive results.
    Thanks.
Edited by: Roberto Viana on Mar 26, 2009 2:02 PM

Hi Stefan, many thanks for your answer.
According to your answer it is not possible to manipulate/change the way PI fills the content-Type.
I was hoping to solve the issue with a custom built adapter module that sets the HTTP header content-type to text/xml without the charset entry, but I understand that's not the case.

  • Invalid Content Type Error in Receiver SOAP Adapter

    Hello Experts,
Is there a solution for this problem?
I am getting the following error in one of my receiver SOAP adapters:
com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: XIAdapterFramework:...:com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML
I have checked the message I am sending to the receiver adapter and it is XML, ok. After checking this thread: Re: Error in soap receiver adapter and SAP note 856597 I used the TCPGateway program to check what the web service is answering to the adapter request and I found the problem is due to an authentication failure. The TEXT/HTML is an error page the SAP WebAS that hosts the webservice is sending out as response saying no login method succeeded.
However...  The webservice URL and basic authentication information, the user and password, are configured correctly. I double checked it and I can also run the webservice using that information directly with wsnavigator on that WebAS.
Checking the request message I found out that the root problem is that the adapter is not sending out a basic authentication request as configured. It is actually sending a header with SAP SSO2 (single signon) ticket instead.
The most strange thing is that I configured another channel exactly the same way and it sends a basic authentication header as it should and works correctly.
So as a workaround I am using this new channel instead of the problematic one but why is the original sending SSO2 tickets? It is configured exactly the same as other channels. I think that SAP SSO authentication is not even supported by XI SOAP channels!!!???
Thanks in advance for your kind responses.
    -Sam.

    Shabarish:
Thanks for the link, but the real issue is not the request message (regarding your blog) but that the reply from the webservice is the standard HTML page informing no login module succeeded because the adapter is deciding completely on its own that it should use SAP single signon ticket instead of basic authentication as configured.
    Volker:
I have performed full and delta cache refreshes to see if the channel performs as configured in the ID but it doesn't. It insists in trying to use SSO2 ticket instead of basic authentication.
I am sure this is an ugly bug in the WEBAS Java, more so because an identically configured channel does use the basic authentication as it should. Anyone knows about a SAP note regarding this? I have performed many searches on the support service but haven't retrieved anything significant.
    Thanks for your help guys!
    -Sam.

    Hi,
    From the mail adapter FAQ,
<i>How can I set the file name of a mail attachment?
There are several MIME headers that play a role in how the client retrieves the file name of an attachment. Unfortunately, this behavior differs among various mail clients. The reason for this inconsistent behavior comes from the fact that this mechanism has been extended incrementally. The old way is to use the name parameter in the Content-Type header as specified in RFC1341. For example, you can set the content type of an XML attachment as:
               Content-Type: application/xml; name="abc.xml"
RFC1521 discourages the use of this name parameter in anticipation of the new header Content-Disposition, which is defined in RFC1806.
With this Content-Disposition header, you can set the file name as:
               Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="abc.xml"
Some clients may show the Content-Description value as the file name. The Content-Description header is typically used to associate some descriptive information to an attachment (RFC1341) as in
               Content-Description: my xml file
To avoid potential interpretation problems, it is recommended to combine the use of these headers.</i>
Also, the note 779981 describes how to set Content Type in the mapping program. Am not sure, but combining the two, maybe it should be possible! Havent tried something of this sort though!
