Recent iPhone update - issues connecting to server
when i connect the iPhone to the computer & tell iTunes tod download the new iPhone update, it says it cannot connect to the server? anyone else having this problem?
i'm trying to figure out if this is just an issue due to a crowded server or settings on my end that can be changed.
Looks like neither of public key and password is accepted by the server. Assuming you put the right keyfile in ~/.ssh/id_rsa and you used the right password, I think the server is rejecting your account (as opposed to your authorization tokens). Does your account exist on the server? Is allowed access in the sshd config file? Or if you're trying to log in as root, is PermitRootLogin enabled?
SSH is known for being difficult to debug client side. If you keep having trouble, could you post the server side log?
By the way, AFAIK it's not possible to do two factor authentication with SSH. If you permit authentication with passwords and keyfiles, anyone can login with either. Exclusively allowing public key logins (and guarding your private key well, protecting it with a strong password) is the strongest authentication scenario you're going to get.

Where is Support for Windows Update issues for Windows Server?
Where is Support for Windows Update Issues for Windows Server?
Windows Update keeps prompting to install an important update, KB2871690 and continually fails with error code 0x800f922
I ran all the fixes I can find, it still fails.
I also tried the manual install, fails.
Microsoft used to provide no charge support for Windows Update issues. They additionally offer online fixes for other versions of windows, but not server, and I can't find a forum.
I also cannot ignore the update, it continually prompts.
I ran the windowsupdate.diagcab and it continually states it fixes Windows Update error 0x80070057, by resetting windows update data store. It further states it fixes Problems installing recent updates.
But it doesn't. I've run it 50 times, and it says the same thing every time.
So there is no support for windows update, and no support for windowsupdate.diagcab.
What's the deal?I've done the SFC/ SCANNOW and DISM
here is the cbs.log

MacBook Pro, iPad IV and iPhone 4S Cannot Connect to Server
I have a MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion 10.8.5, and an iPad IV, both less than three months old. I also have a pair of iPhone 4s's.
All of a sudden none of them can reliably connect to our AT&T Wireless home internet. There are particular websites we are blocked from viewing, notably any apple website, including apple.com, apple support, itunes, and App store, but also random ones like Wikipedia and others. We constantly get the "cannot connect to server" message. Yet other websites load right up with no problem.
Many websites are seriously snarled up, particularly Ebay, which is a critical one for me to have quick access to. Ebay screens are scrambled and out of order, act like purchases are being made when they're not, and photos don't show. All we get is little blue questionmarks.
Multiple PCs running on our home network work just fine, and we can get into any website with them. But ANY apple product is just stymied. We can turn off wifi on the phones, and get into websites with 3g, but as soon as the wife is turned back on, we're back to square one.
Nothing has changed on our network recently, although we did get a new router about three months ago after having consistent outages. I have noticed our wifi getting glitchier and slower as time goes by, but again, it affects the Apple products, until it just went totally haywire last week.
My husband gets wifi at work just fine, and I am accessing wifi quickly and accurately on the MBP at this very moment on a museum network.
The issue seems to be the AT&T home network, and very specifically with the full line of Apple products.
Any clean and easy suggestions? I don't want to have to jump through hoops on four different products, and I now suspect it's something to do with AT&T?Pleeeeeeease. Somebody? Anybody?
I can't get into Facebook, or Ebay on my MacBook. Life is too short to weep and lose hair over computers. Surely there's a quick fix I just haven't thought of? -
After recent iPhone update why does my phone no longer work with my car's bluetooth?
Recently I updated my iPhone 5 and my wife's iPhone 4s. My wife and I attempted to use the bluetooth connection in out car to listen to some music and it will not work. On our screen we get a message "No Data." Since the same is true for both of my iPhone and my wife's, there seems be some type of bug with the new update. Is anyone else having the same problem? If so, is there a work-around solution?

IPhone 5 not connecting to server to get emails
I have the Iphone 5 upon trying to open my email account I just recently started getting the message connection to server failed. I deleted my email account and when I tried to reenter email, I am receiving same message before even setting up account? Any ideas what to try next?
chel71,
Great question. I am sorry to hear that you are having problems. In the past we have noticed that this becomes a problem when the password has changed for the email account. If you have not changed the password, we suggest that you do go online and change the password. Once that is done put the new password in and it should work with no issues.

Unable to download iPhone update - "network connection was reset" error
I'm trying to download the latest version of the iPHone software update, but I keep getting the same error 50 - 75% of the way through the download. I get an error that says "Your network connection was reset". All other downloads work PERFECTLY in all other programs.
I've cleared my DNS, I've disabled my McAfee security software...any suggestions??I am having a similar problem. The iPhone software will not update.
I can (and have) updated the most recent version of iTunes (9.0.3.15). When that completed, it asked to download the newest iPhone software, 3.1.3. I said yes, and the download began.
It shows 'Downloading 1 item iPhone software update (2 minutes remaining) for about thirty seconds, then the number climbs higer for a few seconds and the error message: There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone "iPhone". The network connection timed out.
Ever since then, i get the same results and same message no matter what. I have diables firewall, virus protection, rebooted, tried to resotre instead of just update, reauthorized my computer, checked all connections (i can do other updates, surf the web uninterrupted, etc).
I am using a wireless connection, but even the itunes update itself worked, just not the iPhone update.
Thanks for any advice,
Jim
EDIT: I also noticed that itunes changed from recognizing the phone as 'Jim's iPhone' to 'iPhone'

Recently I upgraded to Firefox 4. Since then, at least once a week, I get a message to update, but when I click on "update" a message "connecting to server" appears that runs and runs and nothing else happens. No update! I don't know what to do.
If you have problems with updating then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
* Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded

After installing the most recent security update, my mac started experiencing problems with SLEEP - computer would hang when energy saver kicked on, failed wake when prompted, monitor wouldn't turn on after sleep.
The only solution was to force shut down and restart.

Yes, usually the first course of action is to repair permissions from the install disk ... here's the issue this time ... my computer locks up as soon as the "choose your language screen" appears. Cursor freezes and the keyboard is locked out so I can't even return past this screen. Nothing happens. I can't repair permissions and have to force restart.
Any thoughts? Or, am I looking at an archive and install?
G5 Mac OS X (10.4.8) 8gb ram, airport, bluetooth, 30" flatscreenSounds like your optical drive or your installation disk is damaged. Call AppleCare to ask for a replacement disk first to see if it is the disk. You can repair permissions though from the Applications -> Utilities folder. You can't repair disk (which is the directory repair) from the Utilities folder Disk Utility.

IPhone shows up in iTunes but not Windows Explorer (after most recent iPhone update)
The phone shows up as a device in Devices and Printers, but not in the Device Manager...
Tried other suggestions, iPhone was unlocked when plugged in, restarted phone, uninstalled driver, restarted phone, etc. Running Windows 7, but same issue on other versions as well, all since last iPhone update. I did not have any prior issues with getting to my photos in Explorer!!!!!Thanks.
That's wonderful, so now we are forced to use iTunes (the most unintuitive piece of crap program ever), or use a Mac and Image Capture??
or put them into the Cloud for everyone to see? -
Laptop to internet ok. Iphone to internet "connection to server failed"
Laptop to internet ok. Iphone to internet "connection to internet failed" can someone help me fix this?
I think bluetooth should be upgraded to allow to use
iPhone to connect to the Internet with any laptop
(i.e. Powerbooks or MacBooks), this is the only
feature I am really missing with the iPhone! Do you
think will be any software upgrade or third party
software allowing to do that? Thanks for sharing.
Wireless access from the iPhone is $20 a month. AT&T's unlimited access for laptops is $80 a month, and for other devices (PDAs, Blackberry, etc; the TOS forbids you to use the PDA as a wireless modem for a laptop) is $50 a month. Thus, if the iPhone COULD be used as a modem it would undercut all of the other wireless data services.
Anyway, you wouldn't really want wireless laptop access over EDGE; believe me, I've tried it. If you really need wireless access get a 3G aircard with a separate data plan. It's really worth the price to have DSL speeds over the cellular network.

Larry

Following the iPhone update on April 8, 2011, I found that;
1) all my email was gone
2) my iPhone internet settings are gone
3) I can't access ANYTHING (maps, text, phone, etc.)
4) all my apps which I downloaded were gone
I weas able to find the apps through trial and error finally
But I hvae an iPhone that I can't use for anything, not even a phone call. People I've spoken with have said that all their updates did not affect anything for them!!!Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything on another computer and restore your iphone.
Either way you have to restore your iphone. -
IPhone update: "Cannot connect to Apple Server"
First time I got that message when I tried to update the iPhone software! iTunes works fine, all downloads and updates. Used the iTunes connectivity tests, all worked fine. My security software and all setting haven't changed. Nothing's changed. Sync works fine. When I plugged in my iPhone and started iTunes, it said an update is available, but then when I click update, it tries to connect to the server but then I get the message "cannot connect to apple server." Help! Thx
I disagree with the above two posts. It is probably the same issue as described here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/17784700#17784700
Try adjusting the DNS servers on your PC to 8.8.8.8 and then trying it.
Edit: another post with the same problem/solution: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3789415?tstart=0 -
Does the recent Airport update help connectivity issues?
I always have issues with my D-link router, which I haven't been able to test since the update. Are people still having connectivity issues and dropped signals since updating?
Usually a update is released to fix and improve functionality. This time a lot of users reported the update caused bugs and even connection problems. If you're already in troubles you can install it and see if it fix your issue.
Consider that your router could be faulty. I replaced mine with a US Robotics after having used my old d-link for 2 years.
I hope that helps, bye -
I did a search on this forum for can't sync and got over 500 results. NONE of which has fixed my problem, and many many others are having the same problems.
And no, my phone has not been hacked, altered, dropped or anything else.
It all started the day of the last update.
When I dock my phone now one of several things happens:
1) Get Cant find disk error
2) Get the dreaded spinning beach ball forever
3) Get the always exciting: "The Iphone "My Iphone" cannot be synced.
The device is not connected."
4) Or it just gives the message in the top display window of itunes "Syncing "My Iphone"" and that happens indefinately
5) Nothing happens, itunes just acts like my phone is not docked at all.
6) It actual does sync, maybe one in ten times
Here is what I do if I really really need to sync it, which takes about 45 minutes:
a - repair permissions
b - I go to user>library>application support>syncservices and put the folders in the trash
c - restart
d - repair permissions yet again
e - start itunes
f - dock Iphone
This works about 50 percent of the time, but for only one single sync, then I have to start the entire process over again.
None of this happened prior to the last Iphone software update, and seeing how there is a small army of people with syncing issues, I'm hoping this gets resolved quickly on apples part, or someone else has a fix for this.
If anyone has a real fix for this that would be great.
txs,
Brown.Reclusebrownrecluse,
First, trashing the SyncServices folder can cause corruption that could be excerbating the issue you are experiencing. This is discussed in the "swarm of bees" article which can be found here:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301920
If you have done everything else short of removing the SyncServices folder, I would recomend calling into support, and referencing that article.
What model of Mac are you using? If an iMac, is at PPC (G3, G4, G5) or Intel-based iMac?
Hope this helps,
Nathan C.
