"Recipient address not valid" regedit

I am wondering if anyone nows how to turn off the following MailTip with a registry setting. I would like to turn off "Recipient address not valid" it is located under Undeliverable Message MailTips. The reason being is we have users within our
organization that do not have email addresses but are part of a location group.
Thank You in advance for any help on this.
Troy

Hi Troy,
Do you want to configure organizational settings for "Recipient address not valid" MailTip?
As far as I know, there is no such registry setting to control the "Recipient address not valid" MailTip. We can only disable the MailTip feature to achieve this goal. See:
Configure Organizational Settings for MailTips:

In addition, you can also post in Exchange forum to get further assistance:

    Not in SCOT, If you read carefully i said,
    setup the Relay Agent in your SMTP server
    For example if you use MS Exchange you need to do the config there... If you ask your Mail Admin he will know what you're talking about.

  • "Email address not valid" messages

    When creating new accounts on websites or making purchases with Safari 6 with very typical fields to complete, I frequently get error messages, especially "Email address is not valid" or "Email address is not in a valid format". In these cases the email is not mistyped and it IS a valid email address. I also have occasionally run into similar issuses with the form saying that my CVC number from my credit card is not valide (also when it is not mistyped or incorrect). Help. This is extremely aggravating.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    In the past couple of months, various websites where I need to enter an email address, are giving me error messages saying that I need to enter a valid email address. I am using a .me address, but I've tried .icloud, and .mac. I've also tried other Apple email addresses, and I get the same rejection.
    What is going on that websites are rejecting Apple mail addresses? HELP!

  • IPhone and Cox e-mail issues -- sender address not valid?

    I have had an iPhone for several years and have never had a problem with e-mail and Cox internet. However, I transferred my service this week to a new address - same account information - and now my e-mail is not working correctly. Cox told me to reset my password via Webmail, and I did. I also followed the information here as to the correct set up for mail accounts. I can now receive e-mail,but I can't send e-mail. I receive the message - the sender address was invalid- and my outbox is full of unsent messages. I have everything in place according to the online articles posted here and on the Cox site. Can anyone help me correct this issue? Thanks!

    What are you using for an SMTP server?
    Go to Settings, Mail Contacts Calendar, Your mail account, Account Info, Advanced and look for Outgoing Mail Server.
    If Cox does not permit AUTH-SMTP, set it to AT&T's mail server. Even if Cox does permit AUTH-SMTP, try using the AT&T mail server.
    If that doesn't work, try resetting the phone.

    You fail to understand that the domainname is NOT REGISTERED.
    IT DOES NOT EXIST.
    With or without MobileMe. With or without iWeb. And regardless whether or not MobileMe will be gone.
    THE DOMAINNAME DOES NOT EXIST.
    And if is does, and you are the only one who can verify it, then enter a CNAME record where you manage the domainname.
    And FYI, Mobile still allows enabling Personal Domain.
    So go where you bought the domainname and manage it.

  • .Mac ID address not valid for emails

    I subscribed to .Mac a few years ago, and my old, now-unused (and unpaid-for) .mac address/ID is my account ID for all my iTMS purchases.
    Problem: I cannot use a differenct address to have 'Artist Alerts' in iTMS because the only address it seems to know (or list for me) is my old .Mac address.
    (Similarly, when I logged into this forum it uses my .mac address, and any emails apple tries to send to it will surely bounce.)
    Suggestions as to how to get iTunes and Apple to use a differenct address while letting me keep my .mac ID?

    Welcome to my world.
    When they created the whole Apple ID system, apparently iTunes got left out in the cold since it is the only service that doesn't seem to update from the Apple ID. Everything else seems to work just fine (Apple Online Store, iPhoto Store, etc.) iTunes just seems to get hosed if you use the Dot Mac account. I would warn against it to any out there.
    I am still trying to get Apple/iTunes Music Store to help my update my email address. So far it has been about 6 months since I first inquired about how to update it. Now that my .Mac account has infact expired, I am still trying to get an answer. The last email they sent me seemed to give me some hope. They said they were going to update my info and asked for a new account name and email. My mom needs this done as well since she used a .Mac account attached to mine.
    That was before Thanksgiving. I am still awaiting and answer as to when they will make the change.
    Keep writing to them. This is obviously a probelm for more than just a few people.
    Good luck!

    Have a new IPad with IOS6.  Will not send emails.  Addresses are valid but get notice each time that "recipient was rejected by the server."  Apple has apparently neglected to put out a manual with IOS6 and the previous manual has no indication of what to do.  Really miss Steve Jobs.

    Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works

  • SendFailedException, valid email addresses not sent

    Hi all,
    I'm using the JavaMail 1.2 API to send email to an SMTP server and I'm having a problem with invalid addresses. I'm using the Transport.sendMessage(Message, Address[]) method. The API docs says, ". Also, if any of the addresses is invalid, a SendFailedException is thrown. Note however, that the message is sent to the valid addresses."
    However, if there is an invalid address I get the SendFailedException as expected, but the message is not sent to the valid email addresses.
    Has anyone experienced this? Solutions, workarounds?
    Thanks,
    Derek

    Hello Sir,
    I am working on an Enterprise Java Bean Application running on J2EE application server..Also using JavaMail API to send Emails through my application.
    I am able to send emails successfully through it and sending it into a loop one after the other...
    What i am tring to do is, if i encounter an Invalid Email Address the application throws me an SendFailedException and from this SendFailedException i want to catch Invalid Email Addresses... so that i will come to know which emails where sent and which were not...
    But the problem is that ,if an Invalid Email Address is encountered and after throwing me an SendFailedException if i try to Catch the Invalid Address ,like
    Address[] invalid = sfe.getInvalidAddresses();
    and print an SOP after this,
    System.out.println("Collected InvalidAddress from SendFailedException...."+invalid);
    the SOP prints "Null" ...
    The Invalid Email Address is also an well Formed String....e.g... "[email protected]"...
    The complete Exception is .....
    The exception is javax.mail.SendFailedException: Sending failed; nested exception is: javax.mail.SendFailedException: 554 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: Domain not found
    The Code is ..
    <Code>
    MimeMessage msg = new MimeMessage(session);
    msg.setFrom(new InternetAddress(eMess.getEmailSender()));
    String to = "";
    msg.setRecipients(Message.RecipientType.TO,
    InternetAddress.parse(to, false));
    msg.setRecipients(Message.RecipientType.BCC,
    InternetAddress.parse(eMess.getEmailReceiver(), false));
    msg.setSubject(eMess.getSubject());
    msg.setContent(eMess.getHtmlContents(),"text/plain");
    msg.saveChanges();
    try {
    Transport.send(msg);
    System.out.println ("The Email has been sent successfully....");
    } catch (javax.mail.SendFailedException sfe) {
    System.out.println("The exception in MailHelper is " + sfe);
    ArrayList al = new ArrayList();
    Collection badAddresses = null;
    System.out.println("Collecting InvalidAddress from SendFailedException....");
    Address[] invalid = sfe.getInvalidAddresses();
    System.out.println("Collected InvalidAddress from SendFailedException...."+invalid);//this SOP is Null....
    if (invalid != null) {
    System.out.println("Invalid Addresse(s) found......");
    if (invalid.length > 0) {
    for (int x = 0; x < invalid.length; x++) {
    invalidAddresses = invalid[x].toString();
    System.out.println("The Invalid Addresses are :"+invalidAddresses);
    </Code>
    Can anybody help me out with this problem.Any suggestion or code can be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks a million is advance...

  • Group mail not delivered - "Recipient address rejected: Access denied"

    Apparently I'm not alone who is having the issue with mails being rejected while the addresses are fully valid.
    Specifically, I have a mail distribution group created, with several e-mail addresses configured. The group is properly set to accept mails from the outside of the company.
    The emails sent from the company accounts are delivered properly. However, when an email is sent from the outside, it gets "Recipient address rejected: Access denied" error message back. There is no trace of such an email in "message trace".
    What helps (others on the forum as well as me) is switching the Domain type in Mail flow / Accepted domains from Authoritative to Internal relay. The emails start to be delivered.
    The main reason why I do not want to have ths setup is that when an invalid email address is used, the email apparently keeps going in rounds between servers until the maximum number of hops is reached and then the message that is sent back to the sender
    is just that - "554 5.4.6 Too many hops".
    Is there any intention to tackle this problem?

    Hi,
    The first thing that comes to my mind is the 'Require that all senders are authenticated' setting. Is that setting to found your distribution list? If, try uncheck that.

  • Exchange not sending mail to the correct recipient addresses when one of the addresses is incorrect

    Hi,
    I am creating an email msg programatically and sending to the exchange server.
    When all the recipient addresses are correct, the mail is sent successfully.
    But if one of the addresses is incorrect, the server gives a "550 5.1.1 User unknown" error and theemail msg is not being sent to the correct addresses as well.
    When this is tested via Outlook, the mail is sent to the correct addresses and there is an error mail from the server stating that the mail was not sent to the incorrect address, this is the expected behaviour.
    What needs to be done to get the expected behaviour? There must be some alternative setting being used by outlook.

    Hi,
    What you describe can happen if the AntiSpam Agents has been installed
    and Recipient Filter Agent is enabled on Mailbox Servers.
    Recipient Filter agent
    Although the Recipient Filter agent is available on Mailbox servers, you shouldn't configure it. When recipient filtering on a Mailbox server detects one invalid or blocked recipient in a message that contains other valid recipients, the message is rejected.

  • Sending an email to a valid address,yet iphone say not valid

    Have just got first, iphone, have set up pop3 email correctly. yet when i send an email, i get a message syaing either the address is not valid, which it is, or is an incorrect address which it's not. never had a problem with any previous phones, yet this seems to want to complicate a very simple process.

    Not sure that there is one in today's world of spamming - frankly, I'm glad my ISP and/or web email hosting service et al have these in place.
    This is what I do for any emails which need to be sent to more than about 10 - 15 people:
    I prepare an email with attachments if necessary and have my address book open. I start inserting email addresses in the BCC field until I reach a certain number. I open a new message window, paste in the email, and work on the next 50 or so. I do this until I've enough emails to cover every recipient I want to send this to. I then send one or more emails, wait about 2 hours, send more, etc, etc - you get the idea.
    Also, be advised: Comcast has told me that they watch the activity; although they do not have a maximum in my case, if they feel that you could be a spammer by the number of emails and recipients, they may not allow the usual port for you to send email through and you will get errors.

  • Built in Approval workflow can't send to AD univeral security mail enabled group (email recipient not valid)

    Background: SP2010 SP2 with March 2015 CU installed. Using the built-in Approval - SharePoint 2010 workflow on a library. The Approval workflow does send email to individual users when users are specified in the Approvers field instead of a group. We
    need to use a group. The workflow reports the error email recipients are not valid. I don't see anything in ULS logs. The Exchange server tracking logs do not show the emails to the AD group being processed (no evidence they are even received into Exchange,
    but all other mail from SharePoint goes through, including the workflow's email to the workflow initiator). I can send email to the AD group from Outlook and all group members get it.
    To send Approval workflow email to a mail enabled AD Universal Security group, what
    exactly are the requirements?
    Q1. Does the SharePoint\system account (aka web app pool account) *absolutely* need to have a mailbox?
    If so, I need some clarification. I saw
    http://www.spdev.info/2012/11/using-security-groups-with-workflows.html which was offered as a solution in another post. It says "To allow SharePoint to email the mail enabled security group you need to either create a mailbox for the SharePoint service
    account, or attach the email address provided in the Outbound Email Settings as an additional email alias for a mailbox." Then it says you need to do *both* - create a mailbox for service account *and* add the outbound email settings address as an alias
    in the *service account's* mailbox settings. Well, we can't do the latter. We are using a dedicated AD account with a mailbox for SharePoint mail settings purposes, and no two mailboxes can have the same alias.
    I tried adding the AD account specified in the Reply From: outbound email settings (Reply To: is set to a distribution list) to the AD group's "Message Delivery Restrictions" and UNchecking Require that all senders are authenticated (even
    though the AD account does authenticate). I tried allowing All Senders and UNchecking Require authentication (though that leaves email address open to spammers), but neither worked.
    Q2. Does the AD mail enabled group need to be synchronized via User Profile Sync?
    We currently only sync users. I do see the AD groups (we use AD groups into SharePoint groups security model) in SharePoint's People and Groups, and the mail address for the mail enabled group is *not* present in the properties. Is it a requirement to sync
    the AD groups so that the email address shows in the AD group's properties in SharePoint?
    The AD group is in a SharePoint group with Approve permissions. The individual AD group members are also in another AD group in a SharePoint group with Contribute permissions. I even placed myself in the AD group to test whether permissions issues; I am
    farm admin. All SharePoint groups are set to allow Everyone to read the group's members.
    This is driving me crazy.
    Thanks,
    Joan

    Hello Victoria,
    Thank you. I have an update. I got the workflow working. Turned out to be two separate unrelated issues:
    (1) invalid email address for recipient was because the email address of AD group was not present in SharePoint's properties for group. Also why nothing appeared in Exchange Server tracking logs; the email was never sent from SharePoint. Once this was remedied
    (explained below), the Task Assigned email was sent out to the AD group.
    (2) the Task Assigned email was rejected by Exchange for reason 550 5.7.1 RESOLVER.RST.AuthRequired. The Exchange tracking logs clearly showed this. Setting the AD group's properties Mail Flow Settings, Message Delivery Restrictions to "Only senders
    in the following list: <the domain account of the email address specified in SharePoint outgoing email Reply From setting>" and UNchecking "Require that all senders are authenticated" allowed the Task Assigned email to go through.
    Answer to Q1: It is not required for System account (aka web app pool account) to have a mailbox when the SharePoint outgoing mail settings Reply From email address is of a domain account of the domain SharePoint is in. That is our scenario, as I noted we
    use a domain service account dedicated for SharePoint mail. I can't speak to other scenarios. The Reply To: does not have to be the same email address; we use a distribution list. And, ever paranoid about spamming because of unchecking require autenticated
    senders, I verified that my own account could not send email to the group (Outlook provides message "You do not have permission to send to: <GroupName>").
    Answer to Q2: I did not have to sync groups via User Profile Service. What I did do, however, was remove the AD group from SharePoint, People and Groups, Groups list, and readd it. (Note: what I *literally* did was was remove the SharePoint group from all
    permissions, remove the AD group from the SharePoint group, then remove the AD group from the Groups list, readd the AD group into the SharePoint group, and reassign permissions to the SharePoint group - Read to top-level site, Read to subsite (has unique
    permissions), and Read, Approve to the subsite library with the workflow. In order to start clean. When I readded the AD group to the SharePoint group, it came in with an email address; email address now shows in the group's SharePoint properties. I noticed
    that the format was GroupName instead of Domain\GroupName. (I had originally created the AD group as a Global Security group, added it to a SharePoint group, *then* (after I found out about that requirement when first troubleshooting workflow) converted it
    to Universal and mail enabled it.
    I suppose, would syncing groups would fix this issue of SharePoint not updating AD group changes?
    Additional note: I first gave the AD group Read to the library directly instead of giving Read to the SharePoint group, tried the workflow, and the email was sent. I then removed the AD group's direct permissions to the library and added the SharePoint group
    to the library and that also worked. So I was able to use the AD group in SharePoint group (I had read in one post that would not work).
    Thanks,
    Joan
