Recording time shift from a continuous signal

Hello
I am just starting learning LabVIEW and have to complete this vi.
I need to output the data from continuous time shift, but I don't know what to do to translate it to acceptable one.
The attachment 1 is the vi.
The attachment 2 shows where the problem is.
Thanks

Sorry I don't understand "....fix this error, you HAVE to replace your local variables with wires......",
Look at your diagram.
You have one of the Tektronix VIs outputting a value called DELTA T.
A couple of places you use the DELTA T control (local variables) as an INPUT.
Which one do you think will execute first, and why?
The answer is, you don't know.
Since you didn't connect with wires, LabVIEW thinks you don't care about the order of things.  It might do the READ of local variables BEFORE doing the WRITE.
Even if it does them in the order you want the first time, it might just do it differently the next time.  It's allowed.
To avoid that uncertainty, run a wire from DELTA T coming out of FETCH WAVEFORM directly to where you want to use it.  Delete the local variables.

  • Can you set recording time video in Ipad mini?

When recording videos in my Ipad, they always stop after 2:30min. I wonder how to change the video recording time?

    From another user....
    Two paths -
One - use an alternative recording app (eg FILMiC Pro) that allows you to record at a lower frame rate and/or smaller image size. (Don't know if it supports iPad 2 on iOS4)
Two - get an iPad with a larger storage capacity. If you need more space than what a 64GB model gives you, combine it with option 1. (FILMiC Pro is supported on an iPad3 running iOS 6)

  • Record time from start to trigger

    Hello there,
I have a program that uses N analog channels to record data, they start taking data (either finite or continuously) a trigger.
I use the built in digital trigger but a software analog trigger (works well though). For now let's just worry about the digital trigger.
I am trying to record the time elapsed from when I start the program to when the trigger signal is received--that is, when the program actually starts collecting its data.
I've seen the examples of how to put a time stamp at the point of the trigger HERE. However, I have a few differences in my code--mainly that I am collecting N channels of data rather than one, which complicates it. Also I don't necessarily want the time stamp, but the time elapsed from start to receiving the trigger.
Right now I have a few ideas:
    1) somehow timestamp the start of the VI, then figure out the time stamp of the trigger in a similar way to the example above, subtract the difference.
    2) In debugging code, I find that probes record the last update at a certain point in the code. Is there a way to utilize this in actual code?
    3) most difficult. Setting up a new channel that observes the digital channel I am triggering off of so that I can record its data continuously, wire that channel to trigger my analog channels. then i can see the time at which the trigger went off. But I am unsure of how to implement this.
Just looking for opinions as to what would be the easiest way to accomplish this task.
Also, I can post my code if desired-- I didn't because it's quite large and difficult to follow.
    Thanks to everyone,

Take a look at the Timing palette.
Also, if you search the NI Developer Zone for "elapsed time" you will find 160 documents.
Surely something in one of those places will help you.

    hi all,
I have a task to make an interface program between external time recording and sap r/3, and then to transfer the time events from that external system to sap system with the help of an rfc, i have got some information like the data first has to be transferred to the table CC1TEV and then from this table the data will be uploaded to 2011 infotype with the help of a standard program, but i am unable to find a solution for making the interface program and the RFC or BAPI which will transfer the records from external system.
if anybody has any information on this plz help me out to solve this problem.

Which recorgding terminals using to capture time events? They should have give some guidelines about this?

Here in CATS0006 one table is there CHECK_TABLE.
when I am executing time sheet from back end(t code  CAT2) the table Check_table is having forward and backword 6 weeks data from the key date and date_from and date_to fields have correct value for week start and end.So that I am able to validate records.
But when I am executing from ESS>Working time>Record working time and set an external debugger on CATS0006 I got that at this time CHECK_TABLE has only edited entry and date_from and date_to field value are also not correct one.

    Hi,
What password are you talking about, the one created with the workgroup manager? That will be difficult since 2010 doesn't have the workgroup manager anymore. You can still use the database in the 2010 environment but you can't make any changes to the original
    database without the password.

Get red error when loading Delta data and the red error is:
Record 1 :Time conversion from 0CALDAY to 0FISCPER (fiscal year A1 ) failed with value 20060426
We went to RSA1 -> Source Systems page, right click on the source system, choose Transfer Global Settings, check "Fiscal year variants" and check "Rebuild tables" and then run it twice, but still not helpful that we always get the above red error!
    Any idea?

    hi Anurag,
You are right that run OB29 on BW, find there is no any period entry for variant A1.  Since all the variant should come from R3 by run "Global Transfer Settings" on the source system, I run OB29 on R3 and find the same thing that there is no any period entry for fiscal year variant A1.  I will go ahead to ask R3 people to correct it on R3, then conduct the "Global Transfer Settings".

  • Time shifting and record live stream

    Hellow everyone,
I would like to stream videos for my viewers and them have a abiliti to timeshifting live stream.
Can I use live application for timeshifting? Or I should use livepkgr to do that.
For archive and play on the VOD mode I like to stream live and record at same time. in the livepkgr I see in the stream folder create a stream file with the f4f extention automaticaly whoever in the live application I should call application.record on the FMS to save live stream on the server.
Please advise me the better solution to archive and time shifting.
    Many Thanks.

livepkgr application for for HTTP streaming...
f youjust want to stream over rtmp use live application and code to record the stream...recording is pretty simple in AMS just call Stream.get() s.record(...) s.play() where s is the stream which you are recording...
    application.onPublish = function(clientObj, streamObj) {      trace("recording started...");       var strName = "recorded_" + streamObj.name;      var s = Stream.get(strName);      if (s == undefined )           return;         s.onStatus = function(info)      {           trace(info.code);      }           if (!s.record("record"))      {           s.trace("record failed.");      }            s.play(streamObj.name, -1, -1, true); }

There is a separate thread on this subject. It's a bug in Windows Phone 8.1. It is fixed in the upcoming Windows 8.1 Update 1 release (due Nov/Dec 2014). Alternatively, you can install the developer preview (go to Store and search for 'preview for developers'.
You have to register as a developer though (easily done through appstudio.windows.com) or you can wait for your phone vendor (Microsoft / Nokia) to release the 'Denim' upgrade.
For now, I don't know a decent workaround.

  • Stamping of a continuous signal

I have a VI where I sample at 100Hz for a certain number of seconds, for a certain number of times, and appending it to a file.  I have a system where I convert parameters for each iteration into a string and add them to the comments section of the file, which lets me get info for each iteration.
My problem is that I have a temperature sensor running continuously in the background (the outermost while loop), and when I add it to comments section the VI fails to run correctly; all it does is read temperature and doesn't execute.  I imagine this is because I need to sample the signal at certain points, then record that value as a string and add it to the comments, because the program gets confused when it is making a continuous signal into a string.  Does anyone know how to do this, or if I'm completely wrong about this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike Bottom

    Hi Mike,
I'm having some trouble understanding exactly what behavior you are seeing.  What do you mean when you say "all it does is read temperature and doesn't execute"?  I'm guessing that you might need a shift register to combine data from different loop iterations into a single string but I'm not sure.  Perhaps if you posted some simple example code or a screenshot of your VI we'd be able to help further.

  • Sharepoint list dataheet view error "Cannot connect to the server at this time. You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available"

I have a List which is having around 14000 items in it.while opening that list in datasheet view it is giving error .
Below is a summary of the issue:
After selecting datasheet view beow error occurs:
"Cannot connect to the server at this time.  You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available."
        "Unable to retrieve all data."
The item counts displays say 100 out of 14000 items.
Exporting List to excel is giving only 2000 records out of 14000 records.
    Other Observations   -
This is happening to only one list on the site .There are other lists in the site whose no. of records is equal to 8000 to 9000.They are working absolutely fine without any error.
Also, If I am saving this list as a template and creating another list with it ,then it is working absolutely fine with 14000 records,so the issue does not seem to be related with no. of records as the template list is working fine.
I have checked the Alternate access mapping setting ,its fine.
It should not be related to lookup, datefield or any other column as the list created from it template is working fine with all these columns.
I checked below links also ,but doesn't seem to work in my case.

I have spent two days to resolve this issue. Microsoft has released two KBs with reference to this issue...but are not appearing in search results at the top.
    I am sharing my finding.
    1. First install the
KB2552989 (Hopefully you might have already installed it. The KB detetcts it and informs the user.)
    2. Then update registry by adding new key for data fetch timeout as mentioned inKB2553007
These two steps resolved the issue in our environment. Hope it might help others as well.

  • I can record midi data from my Mason & Hamlin Piano Disc Pro Record through my MOTU Traveller into Logic but Logic won't send midi data out to the MOTU Traveller to the Piano Disc player

    Hello All,
I can record midi data from my Mason & Hamlin Piano Disc Pro Record through my MOTU Traveller into Logic Pro 9.1.8  but Logic won't send the midi data back out to the MOTU Traveller and thus to the Piano Disc player. I got it to playback one time but have no idea how and when it did it was looping or something because the velocity was way high coming back in and the damper pedal was slamming down. When I play a key on the piano the midi "in" light on the Traveller lights up. When I play the track back on my computer no lights blink on the Traveller and when I did the apple midi studio test in utilities when I play a key I get the confirmation signal noise and the Traveller blinks when I click on the down arrow of the Traveller in the Apple midi studio test the midi out light on the traveller never lights and the signal light on the piano does not blink either. No outbound signal at all...
I have messed with every possible parameter I can find and and have had help from one of Piano Disc's premier editors but no luck. The piano was prepped for me on Logic so it would work with my studio.  I'm positive it's my fault and I'm overlooking something really simple and stupid but what!??!
Somebody please help.  Thank you all in advance for ANY ideas you might have!

    Blues Piano,
I'm not sure if this will be a help or not.  I'm so Logic Pro wet behind the ears that I make newbies look experienced.  However, I'm not expecting many on the Apple support forums have a PianoDisc system, much less one with the new optical record strip.  While I don't have any record strip on my PianoDisc, I do have a PianoDisc iQ that's only a month old.  I've been playing converted paper scrolls from hundred year old player pianos through it via the MIDI in port of the PianoDisc CPU.  I've found I have to open the MIDI file in Logic Pro (10.0.4) then go to <Track><New External MIDI Track> then copy the existing track to that new external track.  Only then can I see in the Track inspector (defaults left side of screen with the Icon for the instrument) the "Port" parameter.  Then I can select my external MIDI device in that Port selector.
I've also encountered problems with the PianoDisc not using enough force on the notes or using too much force.  To get around this problem, until I understand Logic better, I've been setting minimum and maximum volicities.  To do that I right click on the track and select "Select All."  Then I right click again and select "MIDI" then "MIDI Transform"  then "Velocity Limiter."  In the resulting pop up window in the center is a drop down and you can play with the velocity from "MIN" to "MAX" along with "ADD" "SUBTRACT" etc.
I hope this helps.  I envy you your Mason & Hamlin.  If you need more help on this just email me at pfleischmann at mac dot com.

  • Recording live audio from a Bus

    Hey,
So what I'd like to do is record audio from a bus directly into an audio channel
I have a test oscillator in the input slot of an instrument channel
As you can see, the output is routed into bus 1
In order to process any audio that I have coming into bus 1, from any number of channels, I have bus one routed into an Aux channel, from which I can run any effects.  Aux 1 (w/ Bus 1 in the input slot) is routed to Bus 2 (Bus 1 w/ effects from Aux 1)
As I said earlier, I'd like to record the audio from a bus, in this case Bus 2, into an audio channel so that I've got a continuous audio file.  I figured the best way to do so was to create a record-enabled audio channel, with Bus 2 as the input, which I've done here
As the screenshot shows, the audio from Bus 2 is making it into the channel.
When I hit the record button, with "Audio 3", as the selected track no audio is recorded.
In other words, I can hear the audio, and I can run it through any processes, but I'm unable to record in a way that allows me to capture the live processing of the sound.
I tried googling the matter and some suggested bouncing the track the project, which should leave me with an audio file, in the bin, of the audio with any automated effects processing.  Logic's stopped responding, with the mini "bouncing" window on the screen both times I've tried to do this- I'm not sure if this is a seperate problem, which I'll have to deal with at another time or if it's related to what I'm triyng to do.
In any event, has anyone come across a way to route the audio that would allow me to record this audio live, without resorting to recording only the effects parameters and bouncing?

    Thanks CCT,
Checked the prefs and switched them to built in and it cleared it right up, but it did bring up another issue, because I don't remember ever switching it into the "none" position.
I'm working with a USB audio interface that I remove when not in use; possible that logic automatically reverts to "none" rather than "built-in" when I remove it, and can I make it so reverts directly to "built-in" when the interface is removed?

I used an ethernet cable between my iMac and Time Capsule for the initial backup.  Now that initial backup is concluded, can I assume I can simply unplug the Time Capsule from my computer without any glitches and Time Capsule will then run wirelessly.  Is this assumption correct?

can I assume I can simply unplug the Time Capsule from my computer without any glitches and Time Capsule will then run wirelessly.  Is this assumption correct?
Yes, if the computer will be able to receive a strong wireless signal from the Time Capsule.
I did not disable wireless.  So I assume the backups are occurring both with the ethernet and wirelessly.
It is inot possible to have both an "active" Ethernet and "active" wireless signal simultaneously. If an Ethernet connection is established, your computer will default to the Ethernet connection. If the Ethernet cable is unplugged, the computer will revert to the wireless connection.
I also show 2 wireless networks available through Airport.  Shouldn't there only be one now?
You have a simultaneous dual band Time Capsule. That means that it will always be providing both a 2.4 GHz and a 5 GHz network.
I named my new network the same name as the old network.  This enabled all of our devices to continue with their connection without entering the new network and/or passwords; however, I am afraid this may pose problems in the future somehow.  Any input on this issue as well?
Things should be fine. Devices will connect to the best signal.....either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz....based on their capabilties and location in relation to the Time Capsule.

  • Continuous signal to discrete

    Hi everyone,
I'm supposed to do a discrete time fourier transform (DTFT) for my input signal.
I got the input signal from "Basic Function Generator.vi" which is suppose to be a continuous and periodic signal. With respect to DTFT function, the signal has to be discrete and non periodic.
Now the question is, how to I convert the continuous signal to be discrete, and how can I make the signal non-periodic?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
When you generate the waveform with the vi, it is already a discrete and non-periodic signal.
It is a discrete signal because the function is not defined for all time, but only at the multiple of your sampling period, i.e. you only have data point at the sampling period intervals.  If you have a sampling rate of 0.1ms with initial time =0, you would have a point at 0, at 0.1ms, at 0.2ms, at 0.3ms, etc, and you will not have any data point at 0.05ms, 0.25ms, etc.
It is a non-periodic signal, because at any given time, you would only have a waveform from a particular time instance to another particular time instance, and you will never have a waveform form from -inf to +inf, which is part of the definition of being periodic.  Let me know if this is clear or not.
    Yik
