Close Photoshop Elements Editor and Organizer.
    Navigate to:
    //Library/Application Support/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/11.0/Locale/en_US/
    Delete the file Mediadatabase.db3.
Re-launch Photoshop Elements Editor. A progress bar appears as the media database is re-created. Wait for this process to complete. It make take some time and the screen may periodically go blank; so go away and get yourself a coffee and be patient.
N.B. If you have any of your own custom effects, you may need to re-create/re-install them.

  • Do anyone know about recovering notes that I accidentally deleted from my iPad during sync process? Thanks

Do anyone know about recovering notes that I accidentally deleted from my iPad during sync process? Thanks.

If you are using iCloud you can check to see if they are still available remotely by logging onto iCloud.com on a desktop/laptop computer, or 3rd party app like Private Browser or Photon.
If your not using iCloud, or they were also removed from there, you can restore from your last backup (iTunes or iCloud). Unfortunately, this will only recover notes created prior to backing up your iPad. Hope this helps!

  • Moving Garageband Music Files to MyBook for Mac External Hard Drive on OSX 10.5.8  I'm a musician and need to make space on my mac hd. Is it safe to move music files there and delete them on the mac? Thanks!

use a MyBook for Mac external hard drive.
I need space on garageband or the entire hard drive, since I am getting the "need space on the hard drive" messages.
It's scary to move my precious music files!
How should I move them to the external and feel safe about doing so?
Or are there other methods besides the obvious, clearing caches, deleting the trash and downloads, etc., that are recommended?
I am doing music now and producers are waiting for the new vocals!
    Help!
    Thanks!

The process is as simple as just copying your Garageband project to the external drive and deleting from the macs hard drive. But before you delete anything you really need to back them up to someplace else also. Having just one copy is not safe. Get another external drive, DVDs or even flash drives, you absolutely need anything important in more then one place.

  • What happens to the music files when I delete iTunes?

OK, I have iTunes and over the years I have moved files about and tried to organize and back up stuff! And now it seems like I have three of each track showing in iTunes. Some of these, when you click on you get an exclamation mark and a file can't be found! Now to go through it one would be labourious and very very time-consuming.
So if I straight up uninstall, and hunt down any reference to iTunes on my PC, what will happen to all my music files? Do they go in the uninstall? Am I best backing them up to another hard drive for safe keeping first? (I'll probably do that any way) Or are they safe where they are until I reinstall iTunes? Will this fix my deadlinks and duplaicate problem?
    Many thanks

Am I best backing them up to another hard drive for safe keeping first? (I'll probably do that any way) Or are they safe where they are until I reinstall iTunes?
Uninstalling iTunes will not delete your music files.  However, other things will, such as a hard drive failure or physical damage.  So yes, you should always have a backup of your valuable music.

  • How to recover a file i accidently deleted on OS X snow leopard?

I added a file on the right side of my dock, when opening it the mouse slipped and it got deleted accidentally and i looked in SPOTLIGHT and FINDER and MACINTOSH HD and couldnt find anything... this was the tip given to me:
'Open a Finder window. Look at the left side. Click once on "Macintosh HD". Now you should be able to see the Applications folder. Drag it to the Dock. Now look for the "Users" folder. Open it. Do you see a folder that looks like a house? Open it. Do you see "Documents"? Drag it to the Dock.' i tried that and didnt work.
PLEASE HELP!!! THAT file that got deleted has all my important files.
    THANK YOU

Do you see "Documents"? Drag it to the Dock.' i tried that and didnt work.
THAT file that got deleted has all my important files.
When you drag a folder to the Dock and it sticks in there (near the Trash can area) it's only a "alias" and the original goes back to where you dragged it from.
What I suspect occurred is you accidentally dropped the original Documents folder either into the Trash or the Downloads folder, or even the Applications folder "alias" by accident and it's disappeared.
Spotlight might not be able to search the Trash or Downloads, or perhaps you have indexing turned off for the Applications folder.
So I suggest you manually look in those folder for the Documents folder and place it back into your User folder (home)
Then you can try dragging the Documents folder to the Trash can area on the Dock to create the alias.

  • How do I recover lost files from a deleted user with no backup?

So I was locked out of my account for no reason giving me an error occurred message. I came on here to get help and the guy who helped me made me delete the account and then make a new one with the same name. The next steps to recover the files that he gave me do not work and he mentions that if it doesn't work to find the files and if I do not have a back up I will never be able to recover those files. If I knew deleting the user would have a chance on loosing all my files I would have never done it! I CAN NOT LOOSE ALL MY FILE. I REALLY NEED ALL MY PHOTOS 10 years of photos. Some of the photos were in an older iphoto which was deleted after Yosemite update. WHY I DON'T KNOW. However most of my photos were in files never connected to iphoto. Can anyone please help me find and recover all my photos. PLEASE, there has to be a way. I appreciate all the help provided.

    General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as MAC Data Recovery, Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro.  Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.  Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk.  Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads. Recovery software usually provide trial versions that enable you to determine if the software would help before actually paying for it. Beyond this or if the drive has completely failed, then you would need to send the drive to a recovery service which is very expensive.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.
Also visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on Data Recovery.

  • Having trouble recovering music files from data cd

Over a month ago my computer crashed, possibly due to me trying to update my ipod to Version 1.1. Unforunately a lot of my programs weren't working after that, including Itunes, but I still have my music files which I could not listen to so I decided to save them as data so that they would not be lost forever. I was finally able to get Itunes up and running a couple of days ago, the music files on my harddrive have been deleted. I am now having trouble getting the songs from the cd I had burned to back onto my hard drive, I have tried Apple's method of dragging the files to the Source List while in Itunes, but this does not work. I have also tried Importing the songs, copying the file, and copying the folders, but none of this works. Sorry for this being so long

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What do you have set in the System/CDs and DVDs preferences to do when a disk is inserted? If the option is not set to the Finder do so and see if that will make any difference.
Otherwise boot into Safe Mode and see if you can copy the files from the CD to a folder on the Desktop. Boot back into your normal account and see if you can import. Or import while still in the Safe Mode.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How do I recover a note I accidentally deleted

How do I recover a note I accidentally deleted

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico my first language is Spanish. I do not speak English, however I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
Under normal circumstances you can't. But if by chance you have a backup of your iPad that includes this note then you could restore te iPad with the backup and recover the note.

  • Recovering a file I accidentally saved over

I just designed a 16 page spread in Adobe Illustrator CS5, and then somehow saved over it with just the first page--15 pages of design lost. Please tell me there is a way to recover the file. I'm working on a Mac desktop. Thanks

Unless you save a copy somewhere else the only option is to try the Revert command from the File menu. This is assuming you haven't saved and closed the file. If you have, then all bets are off.

  • How do you recover a file that was deleted from iCloud?

I can't find a file I stored on iCloud. I must have deleted it by mistake. I need to recover it.
    Thank you,
    Eddie

Sorry, there is no file recovery for files you delete from cloud storage. If you made a local backup then you can restore from it.

  • Can I recover pictures that were accidentally deleted?

Help! I need to recover pictures that were deleted..is this possible??

Only if you had them backed up somewhere.     If you had them on your SD card, there is SD card recovery software that might be able to retrieve them.  I haven't used one in quite a while, so can't suggest one, but you could do an internet search.

  • HT204406 in iTunes Match can I protect music from being accidentally deleted or playlists changed on my mobile devices?

My entire music catalogue is saved from my desktop in iTunes Match.  How can I prevent my children from deleting or editing playlists and songs on my iPhone or iPods?  Is there a way to lock the devices from making changes and only allow them to listen?

If you have iTunes Match, and your music is in your Match library, you can access it from iCloud on all your devices, provided they are signed into your iTunes Match account.  Make sure you keep a backup of your music somewhere though as the match process isnt' perfect and you may find that some of your iTunes Match music isn't exactly the same as the original (see https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4112).
The best way to back up your photos is to import them to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  If you are out of room on your Mac, get an inexpensive external drive to save your photos on.
