Recovery of excess TDS paid

HI Experts,
If a employee paid tax in advance, if any excess amount found, that should return to employees in Payroll.
In detail, if a employee paid 15,000 as voluntary tax, payroll and posting run also done. later at year ending management found that his original tax is 12,000 only. so they want to return the excess amount of 3,000 to the employee from respective GL.
All the tax amounts paid by the employees will hit a GL, before FI team clear the amount in that GL, they want to return the excess amounts to employees internally. later they will transfer the exact amount to the respective department.
So, I was asked to create a addition wage type to pay back the excess tax and that amount should deduct form the respective GL and should add to the salaries and wages payable GL.
Kindly guide me how to do the configuration to meet this requirement.
Best Regards
Raveendra.

Hi All,
We have raised this issue to SAP and got reply that,There is no such standard process to refund the tax to the employee.

  • TDS clearing on Down Payment

    Dear All,
I am facing the following problem
    1) When I make down payment to Vendor, EWT (i.e.TDS) is getting calculated.
i.e.Down PAyment Rs.50000. TDS calculated on it say Rs.500
    2) Then as per I.T.Act, pay TDS to Govt by 7th of next month. So TDS A/c is getting cleared. Payment goes through bank.
    3) When post final invoice (say Rs 100000) whenever it is received, say 2 months afterwards, system is calculation TDS on whole of Rs. 100000. To avoid this we used Base amount column & put in there Rs.50000. Now system calculate TDS on Rs.50000.
    4) Real Problem comes now. When we clear Down Payment against The Invoice of Rs.100000 through F-54, system clears the down payment correctly but along with that REVERSES THE TDS DEDUCTED EARLIER RS 500 ALSO. ACTUALLY THIS TDS HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID TO THE GOVT & DUE TO THIS REVERSAL TDS ACCOUNT IS GETTING WRONG DEBIT FOR RS 500.
How to resolve this? I want the down payment to clear without reversing the TDS amount.
    Pl help.
    Be assured about points.
    Gov

    Dear Gangadhar,
As you mentioned, I used Central Invoice Proportionate in ‘Withholding Tax type for Payment Posting”
The thinking behind using this is as follows –
    1)     Received Down Payment (DP) Rs.10000 on 1.04.2007. TDS thereon say Rs.1000.
    2)     Received Invoice relating to the same DP Rs.20000 on 15.04.2007. TDS theron say Rs.2000
    3)     Here we have calculated excess TDS on the Invoice to the tune of Rs.1000 as it was already calculated on the relevant DP.
    4)     Now we clear the DP against the Invoice through F-54.
    5)     In this process, TDS on the DP also gets reversed.
    6)     So in the end 1000 gets reversed in the TDS account & net Rs.2000 TDS remains in the account.
    7)     I felt this is should be the correct process.
    8)     Now the problem starts when we receive DP in month 1 & gete the Invoice in any month afterwards. I already elaborated in my 1st question about this.
    9)     Now how to tackle the situation? In nutshell I want as follows- TDS on DP. TDS on Invoice to the extent of Balance Amount i.e. excluding the DP amount either at the time of Invoice posting or by way of clearing.
    10)     I hope it has not become confusing.
    Thanks a lot ,
    Gov

  • Excess Payment to Vendor

    Dear Gurus,
In my Company there has been an excess payment to a Vendor and now the Vendor account shows a DC balance.
The Vendor promised to give the amount by check, how do i clear the payment received from the Vendor against the excess amount paid to him.
    Thanks for helping me out.
    regards,

    HI Raj
When you physically receive the cheque payment from vendor, do the transactions through T Code:F-52 like any other customer receipts.

  • TDS advance adjustement effect in invoice

    hai,
Regarding WHT, while doing advance payment to vendor for Rs.50000.00, system will calculate TDS for Rs.50000.00. Then we received the bill from vendor for Rs.100000.00, then the system will calculate TDS for Rs.100000.00. But system want to dedcut TDS only for Rs.50000.00. How it is possible?
I know one option, while entering invoice, select Withholding tab and system will display the keys and base amount. In that base amount if we enter the balance of Rs.50000.00 means, sytem will automatically calculate only for Rs.50000.00. But i don't want to enter every time. System want to calculate automatically.
Can anyone give me an idea about this.
    govind.

    Hi,
While making an advance for Rs.50000, system will deduct tax on Rs.50000. Then when Invoice is received for Rs.100000, then the system will calculate TDS on Rs.100000 only. Then when you do the clearing between the down payment and the Invoice using T.Code - F-54, the system will reverse the excess TDS deducted (ie) it will reverse the TDS deducted during down payment.
    Try this.
    Cheers

  • Factory rescue and recovery disc usage

I figured I'd ask here before I get very, very angry.
My ThinkPad SL400 has experienced a massive failure.  I was able to rescue my documents, etc., but the boot software was corrupted and I needed to do a complete system restore.  I didn't have viable rescue and recovery discs and so paid $45 plus shipping to order a set of them from Lenovo.  They came with instructions, which I have followed.
Step 9 of their instructions states:
"When all of the data has been copied from the last disc in the set, a message is displayed prompting you to restart the computer.  Remove the disc and then click Yes.
Note: The remainder of the recovery process is fuly automated and no action is required by you.  the computer will restart into the Windows desktop several times and you might experience periods when no activity is apparent on the screen for several minutes at a time.  This is normal."
Unfortunately, that's not what happened.  When I rebooted the machine I got a message stating:
8206 - Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key.
I've restarted the machine several times with no different answer.  I tried booting from the first two Rescue and Recovery discs they sent and neither worked to complete the boot process.  I tried changing the boot device to the hard drive and it didn't work.  I called Lenovo Technical Support and they told me that, even though I had JUST PURCHASED the discs, they would not answer my questions about how to use them.
I am feeling very much like I just poured $50+ down a rathole with a company that won't stand behind its products.
Hopefully you guys can give me some suggestions before I call my credit card company and ask them to remove the charge as a fraudulent purchase.

So i guess you selected the optical drive to be the first one to boot in the boot up list?

  • Extended withholding tax problem - India

    Hello
I have assigned ewt tax codes in vendor master. ewt tax code on invoice posting as well as payment posting are assigned. However i am facing two problems.
1.In case ewt is deducted on invoicing, again it is getting deducted on payment for that invoice. One thing that comes to notice is that the payment ewt tax code appears in witholding tab at the time of invoice. However if i remove it manually and then post the invoice then it does not deduct the ewt on payment. Is there a way to allow only the invoce tax codes to appear during invoicing? The other tax code on ewt on payment should not appear in the withholding tax taab in FB60/MIRO
2.At the time of downpayment - Advance is given to the vendor. I will again deduct the tax, however later when an invoice comes it can be for more or the same amount. How do i not deduct the tax on invoicing ?? Manually removing is a really bad option, as people tend to forget. That is also acceptable in case the vendor is giving complete invoice equal to advance, what can be done in case invoice exceeds the advance amount?? Here ideally i would like to deduct tax only for the balance (invoice amount in excess of advance given).
Any ideas how we ccan meet these real world requirement
    Regards
    Sameer

    Hi Sameeer,
The solution is not to enter the PAYMENT withholding tax code in the vendor master. Only enter the invoice withholding type and code and the payment withholding type.
    The following are the scenarios
    1. Normal invoice and payment - At the time of invoice the system uses only the invoice tax codes and the payment tax codes are blank. Therefore TDS is deducted only for invoicing and not during payment.
    2. Advance, Invoice , Balance Payment - At the time of advance payment the system gives a popup for entering the payment withholding tax code (as it is blank in the vendor master). The user can choose to enter the withholding tax. Therefore tds is deducted on the amount paid. At the time of invoice booking tds is deducted on the entire bill amount. Now use F-54 to clear the invoice against the down payment. At this time the system will reverse the excess tds deducted (during invoicing) into the vendor account. Note however that if the tds certificate is already given to the vendor for the advance the user has to manually change the base amount during invoicing. Also the tds certificate and the returns will also be automatically correct.

  • Vendor Interest calculation with penalty calculation

    Dear All,
We have some requiremnt from my client.
We receive Deposit from our Loan Creditor for a specified period and refund/payback the amount along with interest after completion of the tenure of the deposit.
Meanwhile,if the depositor wants to withdraw the principle amount then the following are the scenarios,
In case the deposit is withdrawn after 6 months but before 18 months, then the rate applicable for ONE year shall be taken and 1% penalty should be deducted and interest shall be recalculated for the period for which the deposit is run and excess interest paid (if any) is to be deducted from the interest/principal.
In case the deposit is withdrawn after 18 months but before 30 months, then the rate applicable for TWO year shall be taken and 1% penalty should be deducted and interest shall be recalculated for the period for which the deposit is run and excess interest paid (if any) is to be deducted from the interest/principal.
In case the deposit is withdrawn after 30 months but before 36 months, then the rate applicable for THREE year shall be taken and 1% penalty should be deducted and interest shall be recalculated for the period for which the deposit is run and excess interest paid (if any) is to be deducted from the interest/principal.
Also we want the applicable tax should be deducted on interest and the net interset amount should be credited to depositoru2019s account once we are execute the (period specific) interest calculation run in SAP.
    The entry must be
    Interest on Fixed Deposits Dr
Interest Payable on Fixed Deposits (Net of TDS, if applicable) Cr
    TDS on Interest Payable CR
Do suggest, how this can been config in SAP system.

  • Clearing Open Items

    Dear Friends,
This is an issue regarding clearing of open item.
When a Business Partner pays an excess amount over the Open invoice items, it should normaly post it as a payment on Account.
Any excess payment paid by the Customer Consumption Charges are getting settled against the next instalment due, which in turn should not happen. Excess payment made by any Customer against  Bill should reflect as Payment on Account, and should get reflected as Credit amount in his next bill getting generated.
But in our case, the excess amount is getting adjusted against the Installment plan amount for the next month. The Client needs the excess amount to be shown as payment on account rather than clearing the next  month's installment plan.
The grouping/sorting settings has been done based on Due date.
Can anybody throw some light on the same?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
I would suggest you to place clearing locks on the individual instalment plan line items until each of them is due based on the individual instalment plan line item due dates.
So, if in case, excess payment comes in, it will not clear the instalment plan line items which are not due and will sit as payment on account, if there is no other debt against the account.
Subsequently this will be reflected as excess payment on the customer's next invoice.
You can place clearing locks during the instalment plan creation using event 3040.
    Hope it solves your query.....
    Thanks,
    Amlan

  • Adjustments for Sale Excise Invoice

    Hi,
Our client is Cement Industry, at the time of budget changes, we posted around 1000 nos. of sales excise invoices with excess amounts, now we want to pass JV for that GL accounts because of that we are unable to do J2IUN. Will anybody tell me where to pass JV for sales excise invoice with effecting utilisation also. This is very urgent issue.
    Regards,
    Prasad

    Dear Prasad,
As far my understanding the excise law, the excess amount paid by you can only be refunded by excice office.
In J2iun the entries are posted thru sales invoice or invoice cancellation.
The utilization amout increases when we create excise invoice thru J1iin and reduction in utilization is thru invoice cancellation.
So in my opinion , you cannot reduce the utilization by passing a JV.
Reward points if answer is useful to you infutrue as the reply is late ,

  • Reconcile BP balance.

In case I have made "on account payment" to a vendor against 2 or 3 different Invoices and the amount paid is higher than the total amount required to be paid. how to i close the Invoices against  "on account payment made"..?? and what about the excess amount paid to the vendor..??

    Hi
Go to Business Partners->Internal Reconciliations->Reconciliation. Select your vendor in Business Partner tab and you can reconcile it.
There will be 2 transactions for reconciliation 1 is Payment and 1 is Invoice, select both the transaction for reconciliation and then copy the Invoice amount and paste it in Payment filed, so ur reconciliation value will be zero.
Reconcile it your invoice will be close against that payment and balance u can see in payment as on account.
