Recursive error restaring after Full Restore

For a Satellite  L445D-S5976
It says:
For Realtek RTL8101E/8102E(l) PCI-E Eathernet Controller v1.13 (081016)
This seems to be a check for the internet connection which is connected and functioning properly.  Then it goes to:
Client MAC ADDR: 00 26 22 37 AA D4   GUID: 45449F36-9ED6-11DE-9A8A-00262237AAD4
It seems to be checkng for something via the internet for about 1 mn then it gives me an error:
PXE-E53: no boot filename recieved
Then goes back to the "For Realtek" check and just keeps going like that.
Scratch the above (I'll leave it there for reference), I've got it onto a different error message now.
After getting some advice on how to use the restore discs I burned, it is now beginning the process of loading up Windows7, but it runs into another error.  It says:
An error has occurred
ERROR : F3-F100-0004
An error has occurred.
Please press [OK] to turn off the computer.
Exact same thing on several attempts.

Your TM partition is a bit small. Apparently you're backing-up about 316 GB (TM adds about 20% to what it's backing-up for workspace, the "padding" in the message, on the TM volume), to a 555 GB partition.
The general rule of thumb here is, it should be 2-3 times as large, or about 632 to 948 gb in your case. But of course that varies greatly depending on how you use your Mac, and how much that 326 gb may grow. See item #1 in the Frequently Asked Questions post at the top of this forum for more detail.
And yes, everything you restored is considered as changed, so TM wants to back it up. You cannot prevent it. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1338.
So your only immediate choices are to expand the TM partition by at least 160 gb, or erase it with Disk Utility and let TM start fresh.
Longer-term, your best bet would be to get a larger drive, perhaps 1 tb.
One other note: do you have backups of the other partition(s) on your current TM drive? If not, they're at risk when that drive fails (when, not if). If you get a big enough drive, TM will back-up both your internal and that external, so you have two copies of everything.

  • Time Machine not backing up after full restore from back up.

Problems started after I restored my Mac Pro from a TM back up.
Mac Pro has 1TB of storage and used less 500 GB (414.1 GB), so
I used a partitioned 1TB ext HD 500/500, and used one partition for
the Mac Pro and backed up properly before the full restore, since I used
less than 500 of the 1TB.
After the restore my TM failed to back up because it required approx 800 GB.
So I thought my old OS must still be on the internal or some type of duplicate
so I erased the free space at the most slowest speed, 10 hrs later sure enough
I reduced everything to 414.1 GB.
So I attempted to back up to my 500 GB TM with no success, says I still need
    1.75 TB.
I Tried reformatting and renaming my ext TM back up HD with the same partition
set up. I even update my OS to mavericks.
    Any new ideas out there?

I dont remember if I hit inherit.
TM started working after I reformatted it, but stopped backing up.
I have 500 GB drive i'm using so its more than enough space.
Since my 1 TB internal HD is only using 389 GB.
The back up that I have now is from this 1 TB HD.

  • I photo lost after full restore

i did a full restore at the apple store with a tech .. computer had slowed down .. so i restored it having a complete backup from Time Machine.. the tech then reloaded Maverick and told me to restore my files with the time machine.. the backup shows on my mac but no restore is offered.. my iphoto, final cut and garage band are not included in the new maverick.. how can i restore them?

Applications like thoses are not included in OS releases
    reinstall from the original source
    Could be
1 - the restore disks that came with the computer
    or
2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased
    or
3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first

  • Unstable After Full Restore

    Hi all,
iPad 1 owner. Latest updates applied. Plenty of free space.
I have random flakeyness in all applications - mail, facebook, games - Some freeze. Some quit unexpectedly. Really hard to use.
I did the three R's - Restart, Hard Reset, and finally a full Restore.
Still I get the same behaviors. And they're getting worse.
Can it be a specific app that is messing up the entire thing?  I would hate to go through the binary problem solving method that I used in Mac OS 9 to figure out which extension was causing problems. That is a royal pain.
Is it time for a Genius Bar visit?
    Thanks for any help
    -Ray

Did you restore from a backup? Could be a software problem being backed up then being brought back by the restoration. Restore as new and sync your content back on instead of restoring from a backup.
Does you iPad have enough extra room to work with? I'd leave at least a couple of GB for it to use for running the apps and iOS.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If these things don't help it might be best to Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • Time machine backup takes forever after full restore

My HD went haywire yesterday but luckily I was able to restore everything from my backup (and the Mac even got a speedier, yay).
But for some reason I can take new backups. Time machine works forever, seemingly want to replace most files on the backup (250 GB, 500000+ files) and have now for more than 12 hours stood at “44 MB backed up”. The problem repeats itself when I stop and retry the back up procedure.
I have tried to create a new back up on the same Time Machine drive but I am unable to rename the old “backup.backudb” folder, so thats not a solution.
    ANy ideas?

After a restore Time Machine will back up everything again.  Because of that, if possible the initial backup should be done over Ethernet, not Wi-Fi.  See item D3 on this post.

  • MacBook Pro super slow, unusable! Even after full restore

My Mac got incredibly slow and ghee fans were tremendously loud and fast. Idk what was wrong so I did a full restore. Even wiped all my data. The past week my MacBook Pro has been so slow I have been unable to use it. Loading, typing, even moving the mouse.

    Hi C,
Try running Verify Disk from Disk Utility. It could be a HD issue.
It might help someone to help you if you listed your exact model of MBP, what OS you're running, how much RAM you have, the capacity of your HD and how much free space you have available on it.

  • After Full Restore from Time Machine..

    Hello All!
I've searched around but can't find the solution.. Unfortunately there was a terrible accident with my last Macbook Pro so I purchased a new one... I did a full install using Migration Assistant to replace my User account from Time Machine. I never got the option to 'use time machine history' and now aren't sure whether it's 'building' on top of my old Time Machine or just starting a new one. When I go into preferences it says 'oldest Back Up - None' & 'Latest Back Up - None'
Does any of this matter as the Old back ups are still there - the External Harddrive says 127 of 250Gb used... Or do I need to 'merge' these backups?
    Many thanks.

I think that you should be fine.  If you open Time Machine you should be able to determine the status and it should work as designed.
I have never encountered the"Inherit Backup History" that you mention.  It probably is a Lion feature (I still use Snow Leopard) and I have never used Time Machine to transfer data to a new MBP or a restore.  I prefer to select what I want to retain and let the rest go by the wayside.  This way any 'trash' I may have does not get copied to the new MBP.  Consequently when I connect the Time Machine HHD, it then does an entirely complete new update.
Keep the Pondini web site in mind.  It has a plethora of useful Time Machine information.
    Ciao.

  • How do I get past a blue screen after full restore from time machine and rebooting?

Wife had her hard drive replaced by apple, they reinstalled the os.  After boot up system questions, the option to restore everything from timemachine backup was selected.  System came up to login but would not take what the password should have been.  I rebooted the macine and it has not come back.

That;s really not enough free space... you can use a tools such as OmniDiskSweeper to find out where your large files reside and begin pruning (or copying to an external if they're files that you want to keep).
One thing is certain - if you're going to continue your current usage you're certainly going to need to install a larger boot drive.

  • Time Machine Deleting old backups after full restore

So I'm wondering if anyone else came up with this issue:
My computer crashed and so I restored my MacBook from Time machine. I've never done this before, but figured it would put everything back to how it was.
It did on my hard drive, but my Time machine external drive's backups all got wiped! I had about 1.5 years of backups and they are all gone!
I realize that hopefully the backup that I restored to should have everything I need, but I never thought to backup my backup drive before using it to restore.
Seems like a really dumb glitch in the software.

    harryhewitt wrote:
Exactly what happened with me. I was using Snow Leopard, my macbook pro died, I bought a new one and restored from my HD which I had used with TimeMachine to back up to for the past 18 months. it restored brilliantly and I was impressed - passwords etc were all there.
However, I now see that I have no backups other than the last one before my old mac died. As has been said, that is a serious glitch in the software. At the very least there should be a warning that it is going to do that. And why does it need to do that?
It's a different Mac. Time Machine backs up each Mac (and each drive) separately (all other full system backup apps I've ever seen do, too); if it didn't, those who back up 2 or more to the same place would have a complete and unreliable mess.
I'd agree that the "Would you like to reuse the backup" prompt you saw on the first backup of the new Mac could be worded better, but it is explained in #B5 of Time Machine - Troubleshooting (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).

  • I have an Iphone 3Gs stuck in restore mode after full restore?

Hello, I was trying to restore my Iphone 3Gs to 4.3.2 firmware. I got it all restored then the message on itunes popped up saying the phone would reboot and not to unplug it. Well I didnt and after the messaged left about three seconds later itunes popped up and said a phone has been detected to be restored. I have been through this process five times already. How do I get it out of DFU or recovery/restore mode?
