Red & flesh tones turned yellow on Vostro montior

Colour tones went yellow on laptop monitor (OK on external monitor). I was in Win7 personalisation and colour management. Did colour calibration several times no improvement. Colour distortion accross all users and admin on laptop. Vostro 3550 (2012 model) How can I restore warm red and flesh colour tones.

In addition to Barbara's excellent suggestions, I offer you a technique which served me well a few weeks ago with a faded photo, which I scanned in order to work on it:
1. Obtain skin color swatch. I downloaded swatches palette from Adobe Studio Exchange a while back, but cannot find its source at this time. However, you can get RGB & Hexadecimal values here and enter appropriate one for your foreground color

2. Duplicate your background layer, set blend mode of background copy layer to luminosity, opacity 20-25%. Shut off visibility of background layer by clicking on its eye icon
3. Select soft paint brush, mode:color, opacity: 100%, may need to reduce same

Is PSE 3 (Mac) able to fix skin / flesh tones?

I have an old photo of my son as a 1 year old. It was taken by one of the major department stores'"professionals". So, those of you familiar with that process of over 20 years ago can guess that the entire, once full-color, picture now has a bluish tint to it.
I've fooled around with the red, green, blue, increase/decrease with some (limited) success on the entire photo.
Can anyone suggest how I might make his skin tone (both lit and shadowed skin) look more natural? Using my method in the second paragraph, if he's not blue, he's too red, or green, or yellow - but never natural looking.

I am an Electrical Engineer by trade and have 15+ years working with computers. I left it to charge over the last 3 days. Doesn't do anything. It's a $300 paper weight. My mother bought this product for me because she thought it was a great present but now it turns out to being worthless.

One of my PlayBooks recently went 'possum on me, too. Very frustrated, tried all the known tricks and tips to charge and revive it. Over a year old. I called the support line knowing it was out of date and they would deny me.
Nope, the lady very pleasantly accepted my request, I spoke with customer support and they bugged me via email daily until we got it resolved -- to MY satisfaction. My first interaction with PlayBook support, and it could not have gone more nicely nor further beyond my expectation.
I don't know what you experienced with PlayBook support, you didn't say why you're so mad with them. This is a user-to-user community support forum. We are not RIM employees, but volunteers who enjoy assisting other users. RIM personnel rarely comment on queries posted here. You would have noticed this in the EULA and message upon registration.
Sooo... good luck, and just for the record... the LED activity you described IS very fixable. Sorry you don't have the choice to explore those remedies any longer.

Macbook Air 13 turns yellow when starting

I've recently had a replacement because my macbook air turned yellow when I start it.
It starts okay but right before it moves on to the desktop screen, it turns yellow. And it feels like the overall hue of the screen proceeds to be kind of yellow tinted.
What bugs me is that my replacement has the same problem :(
Is this normal?
I went to the apple service center, and the guy there told me it happens to all macbooks with the new OS X.
I'm also kind of concerned if the replacement is not a new product.
( bought it on the online apple store )

Yeah it's happening to me too.
I read from several sources, it's just Lion in general cause animation lags. It should be fixed in the next bug fix software update; don't worry, it's not just you.

HT1430 My ipad mini is frozen in an app and the home button is stuck. Pressing down on the sleep/wake button does not give me the red slider to turn the ipad off. Is there any other way I can reset?

Poor flesh tones on HDTV from iPhoto & EyeTV

I have an Insignia HDTV hooked up to an iintel Mac Mini via DVI at 1600x900 (and have also tried via VGA) and experience poor flesh tones on certain pictures from iPhoto and with certain headshots from EyeTV. Things look great frrom my old Mac Mini and on my ibook via VNC.
Any ideas?

I'd be interested to see what's going on. When you say whites become green, I'm not a color specialist so if they're taking on a green cast, I might not see it, but, if you're looking at the coloring crayons in the color picker, if it's going from "Snow" to "Clover" I'll probably spot that

I can't import HD video from Samsung OIS Duo into FCP. However, I can see the video with QT. In FCP, I just see a red bad with a yellow triangle (warning). Can someone help me. The video are Full HD 1080/60i?

Could it be the case that you have "proxy media" selected in the preferences (under Final Cut Pro -> Preferences, click on "Playback" and see which is selected, proxy or optimized), BUT you are not creating proxy media when importing?
If that is the case, either
- switch to "original/optimized media",
or
- create the proxy media (control-click the clip(s) in the event browser, choose "Transcode media" e check the box for "create proxy media").

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go. (No data loss)

I don't know which old version you're referring to but iPhoto 6's, 7's and 8's retouch tool works exactly the same as iPhoto 9's. The color of the enhance tool's area while applying is a light brown color but the retouch works on any color using the surrounding colors as a basis.

Photoshop CS5: Any color with zero red information will turn black

I've been having this problem ever since I installed Photoshop CS5 (12.0.4) on a Windows 7 64-bit machine. I've used the program on a Windows Vista 64-bit PC in the past with no problems.
Any color that has zero red information will turn black when in RGB mode and in either 8 or 16-bit mode. If I use the paintbrush, for example, a color with RGB 0/100/100 will be black. However, the color 1/100/100 will not. This problem also occurs with imported images. I've only tried JPEG and PNG so far. The problem does not save out though, as any image exported from Photoshop will appear fine. The issue seems to go away when in 32-bit mode, but it's a little RAM-intensive, and the file sizes are quite large.
I have reinstalled Photoshop, reset its preferences, and reinstalled my video card's drivers (I have a Radeon HD 7870). My PC has 8 GB of RAM and plenty of free hard drive space.
Below is a screencap of what's going on. I'm a bit lost here...any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's a well-known issue with current ATI drivers and Photoshop's GPU-accelerated color-management logic.
You can work around it a couple of different ways:
1. You can install ATI's latest Catalyst 13.2 beta driver, which does solve the problem, or you can uninstall and drop back to Catalyst 12.8.
2. You can switch to Basic GPU mode (and restart Photoshop). Basic mode moves the color-management logic into the CPU. This might be a workaround you'd prefer to take until AMD releases their next non-beta driver where the problem is solved.

It depends ,whether the SDA/SCA/EAR file selected for deployment is an Offline or Online deployment.
By default,SDM will be in integrated mode.When SDM is supposed to do deploymet,It comes to Standalone mode.
And if the SCA selected is an Offline deployment,Whole insatnce will get restarted,As a result dispatcher may turn yellow and come to Onlline state after the deployment.
Meanwhile if the problem is not with the deployment,u can right click on dispatcher and see the developer trace.
You can also see dev_dispatcher log file under /usr/sap/SID/JCxx/work folder.

Mac Mini Casing Turning Yellow / Beige

I have three Mac Mini Intels, two at work and one at home.
The one at home which was from march 2006 is white, the brand new one at work is white, but mine at work which is from around May has turned Yellow, an ugly ivory colour on the top, when the white remote is put on top, it is a totally different colour. Has anyone else got this?
I can only assume it is the daylight or flourescent tube on the ceiling above affecting the plastic.

I haven't noticed any significant discoloration in my mini's, though when compared to a 3rd generation iPod, both look slightly yellowish. I have one in my office under fluorescent lighting, and one at home in daylight/partial sunlight but both look the same color, and both match a brand new mini I set up for a user.
The only mini I have seen show any real sign of discoloration was used in a smoking environment, where not surprisingly it turned a rather unpleasant shade of yellow.
Is it possible that there are trace chemicals or impurities in the air in your office that may have affected just that system?

My girlfriends iBook G4 is turning yellow where her palm usually rests..
Is there any chance one can fix that or get it fixed by Apple?

Hi there;
There is a very easy fix for this. This happens on my G4 iBook after a while. All you need to do is get a good cleaner to take care of the dirt and sweat that get embedded in the wrist area.
I personally use Mr. Clean eraser pads. They quickly and easily clean this area as well as the keys. You need to be careful what you clean with these kinds of pads because they can scratch smooth surfaces. However, I've found them very safe for the keyboard and wrist rest areas of my laptop.
