Rediculous Icloude deleted all my contacts with out notice

Hi,
I wonder , I am first time user of ICloude, I just taught of seeing how we can back up things in ICloude. I just enabled (on)the contact in ICloude and unfrotunately all my contacts in my Iphone deleted. nothing left expcet only my own email id.
my last back was taken 2 years back and after that I added many contact now what to do
I called US apple call center they asked for $70 + so that they can get them back but I cannot spend that much now. please help me .
Any help is hightly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mouli Kommineni

Still no luck yet, I think apple donot do it wantedely because they want to make money out of it. once we lost contacts any way we have to contact apple, so that they can make money .
It just didnot promot for any message, when I enabled contacts in ICloud, it just simply deleted with out my notice.
I also verified all the possible places like ICloud(logged in using browser and checked), any other apps and through out my iPhone(inlcuding contacts) couldnot find contacts any where.
Yes I relaised that I should take back up before I start with ICloud. I would have not used ICloud for my back up, It is not trust worthy.
Can any apple guys do any any thing in this case.
I think ICloud is dangerious, please donot use it , if  you really want to try just take back up and try.
Thanks,
Mouli kommineni.

  • Signing up with "iCloud" deleted all my contacts!

I was trying to exports contacts from iPhone4 to Macbook pro address book. I don't know why I thought "iCloud" would be a great idea, signed up with iCloud and checked import contacts, notes and calendar. After finishing iCloud backup; all my contacts in iPhone were vanished and there was iphone absolutely empty.  I tried to synch iPhone with iTunes to get them back, but failed.  Where are my contacts?? "iCloud" is sooo not user friendly.   I need help. Anyone?

True, there is no option of importing. I just added e-mail account and created iCloud account for the first time in Address Book and Notes app of Mackbook Pro and checked the boxes of contacts and notes. Some synching took place automatically after i did that. There were for existing 4 contacts in Macbook Pro address book, which replaced my hundreds of contacts in iPhone. Now I have just those 4 contacts in phone from the address book.
Later i turned off my iCloud account and tried to retrieve contacts from iTunes, but even after the sync was finished; i couldn't get them back in iPhone.

  • ICloud deleted all my contacts off my iPhone

I just created an iCloud account to see what it is and to help me store all my information and stuff.  I have a MacBook Pro and an iPhone 4s.  On my phone, I clicked sync everything on my computer to the icloud, and iCloud put all my contacts from my computer onto my phone.  I realized that these were really old and never used contacts, so I decided I didn't want contacts to be synched using the iCloud.  I turned off the button in my iPhone settings that synched contacts with my phone, and an option appeared: "Keep on My iPhone" or "Delete from My iPhone."  I thought this just meant if I want to keep on my phone the contacts taht were put there from my computer, or to remove the contacts from my phone that were just put there.  I clicked delete from my iphone, and now suddenly every contact on my phone, regardless of if they were already on there or if they were just put there from my computer via iCloud, was gone.
Basically, I thought I was deleting only the contacts that were just put on my phone from my computer via iCloud, but I actually deleted every single one of my contacts on my iPhone.
My last iTunes back up of my phone is from September, so thats 4-5 months of contacts I'd still not have.
Is there any way I can get these contacts I just accidentally deleted back?
    Any response would be helpful,
    Thanks.

Thanks, yeah I called Apple Customer Services and the guy said that the only thing I can do is restore my phone from my latest iTunes backup.
The screen I got when this debacle happened literally said: "What would you like to do with the previously synched iCloud contacts on your iPhone?" It's so poorly worded, I thought it was just referring to the contacts that were just put on my phone from my computer, hense the "previously synched iCloud contacts" but when I was on the phone with the guy he was saying that I misunderstood the screen.
I don't think I'm crazy, they could have worded it better and made it more clear they meant ALL contacts deleted, not just the ones synched from iCloud.

  • ICloud deleted all my contacts and photos. How can I get it back?

All my contacts and photos from my iPhone and from my ICloud webpage are gone.
I have an ICloud backup from yesterday morning so i tried restoring, but my contacts disappeared again after a few seconds. It says that i have 1000 photos, but I can't see them. All the pictures are grey and when I click on one it just says "loading" and nothing happens.
I kept getting a message to enter my ICloud password, so i did and maybe that could be the reason, or maybe it's because I charged my phone on my new macbook and it somehow deleted it all.
I don't have an ITunes backup, but if I have an old ICloud backup, shouldn't it be possible to get it all back?
I hope someone can help. Thanks.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photos don't restore from back up, they restore after back up has completed, so it's quite normal to have to wait a while, especially if you don't have a reliable network.
To restore from a back up made through iTunes, follow these instructions.
To restore from a back up made through iCloud, try the following:
The difficulty in restoring iCloud data from a back up is that the back up is older than the current version on iCloud and anything that is restored gets removed again when an iCloud sync occurs.
Ensure the device is connected to your local network.
Start the restore from iCloud back up.
Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
Wait for the time out confirmation.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn off contact syncing (keep contacts when prompted).
Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.
Delete any iCloud contacts from iCloud.com on a computer.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn on contact syncing (merge contacts when prompted).
May I suggest that you carry out a back up to iTunes before you try anything, that way should things become even worse, you can at least restore back to where you are now.

  • HELP! Deleted all my Contacts with Bento

I downloaded the trial version of Bento.  The first time I opened Bento it imported all of my contacts from iCloud (used with my iMac and iPhone).  I did not realize that Bento was mirroring iCloud.  I thought it just created a resident file with my contact information.  So this morning I was playing around with Bento (going to use for personal business) and I thought I would would just delete all of those personal entries that it had originally imported.  Big mistake!  My entire iCloud contact list is wiped clean.  My question is this.  How in the world do I get it back?  I show a recent backup to the icoud of my phoen at 11:51am.  I don't know if this is before of after I wiped the contacts clean.  If I erase my phoen and go to restore it from the cloud will i have the choice of restoring from other backups?  I'd like to know that before going into it.  I am also an avid backerupper with time machine.  Any optiosn there anyone can think of that would be easier than restoring cloud contacts from and iphone reinstall?

If you have Time Machine, that would be an easier solution.  Do the following:
Go to System Preferences>iCloud, uncheck Contacts, choose Delete from My Mac at the prompt.
Open Contacts on your Mac and enter Time Machine.  Go back in the time line until your contacts are visible again.
Select all your contacts by clicking on the top one, then shift-clicking on the last, then tap Restore on the bottom left.  Select to add the contacts at the prompt.
Select all your contacts again, then go to File>Export>Export vCard, save this file on your desktop.
Select all your contacts again, then press your Delete key to delete them.
Go to System Preferences>iCloud and check Contacts again.
Go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and verify that Contacts is set to On.
Email the vCard file you made earlier to yourself, open it on your iPhone and tap the attachment to import the contacts to your phone.  They will also be added to iCloud and should appear on your Mac after a short delay.

  • Icloud replaced all my contacts with a stranger's contacts?

    Hi there,
I woke up this morning and tried to make a call from my one week old iPhone 5c to find that all my contacts have been replaced by a stranger's contacts. I tried restoring a backup, logging on to icloud.com and deleting saved contacts, and the stranger's contacts remain.
Any idea what else I can do?
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Bridget

Someone hacked into your iCloud account.  Change your iCoud password.  If you use the same ID/password for your iTunes account, change that too.

  • HT5824 How can I delete all my contacts from icloud with a single command?

I would like to delete all my contacts from iCloud so when I synchronize with my other devices, the one I already have don't be duplicated or deleted

If you delete all your iCloud contacts, then enable contact syncing with your other devices, the empty iCloud contacts are likely to overwrite the contacts on your other devices and you will lose them.
Do you have a master list of contacts on one of your devices that you are trying to replace the iCloud contacts with?

  • I took my daughter's new Iphone 5 to shop and they replaced it with a new one.  Today she logged on to my ICloud account and deleted all my contacts and just kept the ones she wanted.  Can I retrieve my contacts, please help

My daughter has a new Iphone 5 and we share an ITunes account.  She logged on to my Icloud Account and deleted all my contacts this morning.  Can i restore this as I now only have her friends as my contacts?

No, data like Email, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes are only synced between devices and not included in icloud backups, so unfortunately you won't be able to restore them. Please see also: iCloud storage and backup overview: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12519/

bought a new iphone and i cant activate it unless the previous owner deletes the account from their icloud but i lost contact with the previous owner how can i fix this?

Take it back where you got and and get your money back.
As has been pointed out, if there was a "previous owner", the phone is not "new". Thephone you purchased is most likely stolen. If whoever you bought it from won't give you your money back, turn it over to the police.

  • How can I delete all my contacts from the icloud?

I've been working with Apple's sometime, and now I have been forced to use iCloud after MobileMe.
After syncing a couple of devices, some things went quite wrong. My iCloud contacts are now a complete mess. I have lots of duplicates. And over 8000 contacts.
What I want to do is, is do a cleanup, and clear all the iCloud contacts, and import a new 'clean' address book from 1 mac to the icloud, which then in it's turn can be synced to all the devices?
Is dit possible? I've noticed deleting manually is a pain, because the browser doesn't really allow more then 50 contacts or so at a time, before the browser freezes.

Go to your Contacts on your Mac - if more than one pick the most accurate; delete any contacts you don't want. Select all the contacts, and from the File menu choose 'Export...'>'Export vCard'. Save the resultant file safely: it will be your 'master' list.
Now delete all the contacts from whichever device has the most in it. Sync with iCloud. If necessary repeat with different Macs. The result should be that the deletions sync to iCloud and in the end you finish up with empty Contacts lists everywhere.
Now you can import your saved file to one of your Macs. Make sure you import it under 'iCloud' not 'On My Mac'. Then it should propagate iCloud and any other devices. Keep the saved file at least until you are satisfied that all is in order.

How do I delete all the contacts in Icloud so that I can start over, as if I never used Icloud before?

There is an option, under Advanced, on the Info Pane in iTunes to replace all contacts on your phone with what's on your computer for the next sync only. So, edit everything on your computer & use that method.

Go to icloud.com on your computer, sign into your iCloud account, open your contacts, click on a single contact, press control-A to select all contacts, press the Delete key on your keyboard.  Do this for all groups to be sure you get them all.  Note: if any of your devices are signed into this account with contact syncing set to on, this will also delete the contacts from your devices.
