Reducing the length of my movie

I finally discovered why i couldnt upload it onto yOu tube despite the fact I THOUGHT i had trimmed the length from an hour to about 5 mins(in fact two clips left on the clips viewer).I moved all the others back onto the clips pane ,i clicked *save as* gave it a new title but it took an age to complete and I realised it was saving all the clips i removed except they were not there.When i played back the shortened movie the playhead carried on moving to the right after it had crossed both clips as if the the clips i removed were still there.
Can someone please advise me .Many thanks

iMovie 6 uses nondestructive editing, so even if you trimmed back your movie to a shortened version, iMovie still keeps all the clips used in the movie, saving them in their entirety. If you use only 4 seconds of a 10 minute clip, iMovie keeps the entire 10 minute clip.
If you want to keep just the clips that are actually in the movie, 'share' your shortened iMovie as Quick Time 'Full Quality' and save it to a convenient place such as the desktop.
Once that has been created, open a new iMovie and drag that new quicktime movie clip into it. Your movie will be one long clip.
But now, this iMovie contains only that quicktime clip and no others.
It will be shorter.

  • How to reduce the length of the info object that's being used?

    Hi All,
    I have created info objects and used them in a DSO. Now I want to reduce the length of the info objects but i'm unable to do it. When I reduced the length and tried activating the Info object, it's giving me error and the info object is not getting activated. Please guide me how I can reduce the length and activate the Info Object.
    Thanks
    Hima Bindu

    Reducing the length of an infoobject is not that easy
    Cleanest way -
    Drop all transaction data for that infoobject
    Drop all data in the DSO and cubes.
    Reduce the length and then activate and transport all the infoobject and there dependence objects.

  • How to reduce the length of  lines in Smartform windows

    Hi,
           In  smartform  Mainwindow or any window,  how to draw the vertical lines and horizontal lines and how to reduce the lengths...very urgent please explain.
    Thanks and Regards,
    surya

    Hi Surya,
    You should use templates for this purpose.
    and if you are in table then you can not use templates. Here you should go for the line type.
    and in either case there will be pattern tab in the right side bottom.
    if double click on the teplate it will get display.
    click on the select pattern and select the required format and give the line width

    I think this will help you

  • How to reduce the length of PageHeader

    Hi,
    I developed few webdynpro application.In each iViw i given the UI element Page Header and number of text element and corresponding input field. So because of this the length between the text and the input field is looking very wide . In my case input field is started from the end point of the Page Header length.I want to reduce the length of the Page Header as well as the length between the text and input field.
    So what change we can make in property editor for getting the above requirement? Any useful answer will highly appriciated.
    Thanks,
    Kundan

    hi,
    Place your UI elements in a transparent container with layout selected as Matrix Layout and stretchedhorizontally property set to false. Elements  inside the container which are placed at the begining of a row should have "layoutdata" property selected as MatrixHeadData and rest of the elements in the same row should have "layoutdata" property set as MatrixData.
    hope this resolves your problem

  • Is there a way to reduce the length of the Timeline?

    In Captivate 6, one of my slides has an audio track that is a minute and thirty seconds long. No elements will go beyond a minute-thirty. But the timeline is twenty minutes and thirty-two seconds long. If I zoom in to fine-tune some layers the scroll bar slider at the bottom gets incredibly small. It's a lot of wasted space. I'm looking for something like After Effects' "Reduce comp to work area" function. Does it exist in Captivate?

    If nothing extends beyond a minute thirty, you could shorten the overall timeline by changing the Time setting in the general section of the Properties Inspector for the slide:

  • Video converters (or iTunes?) shortens the length of my movie?

    I downloaded Disney Pixar's movie, "Up," & tried to convert it using "Videora" & "Any Video Converter," but everytime it converts, the video is shortened to 36 minutes.  It is orignally one hour & 36 minutes.  I don't know why it does that because when I play the movie in its original format, it's fine.  Is there any way to fix this?

    If on win or lin, try using handbrake it's best out there. I don't know what to use if you have OSX ...

  • Looping a short animated gif over the length of a movie ?

    Hello,
    I hope I have a good question here.
    How would you suggest looping a very simple 3 frame .gif animation over the entire length of a 3 minute video ?
    I have placed the gif animation on the timeline, and then positioned it as I want it to be, however, simply copy and pasting the video over and over again doesn't work, and adding it again from my bin, places the animation in the middle of my video, which is not where I want it.
    Thank you for any suggestions on how to go about this.
    Dave.

    You could try putting the overlay in a separate sequence with position etc as you wish, then make another sequence of several loops of the first sequence, and then use the longer version on the main timeline.

  • I am trying to reduce the length of the google navigation & search boxes without any succuss. This has been asked numerious times on the site but no answer fixes the problem. I can change the size by using the line that seperates the two boxes but I only

    I added a personna 6/25/10, wanted to shorten the google navigation & search bars to see it but can't. Have re-installed the google tool bar, have selected the firefox tool bar version as my default and can then change the width but when one box gets shorter the other gets longer still filling the width of the screen. Customize tool bar doesn't give any options to shorten the tool bar width, I'm at a total loss. Would love suggestions if you've successfully fixed this.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == 6-25-10

    The location bar and search bar have a flex property and take all available space.
    You can only change the relative size of both with that resizer between the two bars.
    You can only do that by adding a lot of Space elements in the View > Toolbars > Customize window.
    You can set a fixed width by setting the min-width and max-width to the same value.
    Add code to [http://kb.mozillazine.org/UserChrome.css userChrome.css] below the @namespace line.
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Editing_configuration#How_to_edit_configuration_files
    <pre><nowiki>@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */
    #urlbar-container {max-width:400px!important; min-width:400px!important;}
    #search-container {max-width:200px!important; min-width:200px!important;}
    </nowiki></pre>
    You can chose your own values as long as the min-width and max-width for each bar have the same value.

  • How can i reduce the session length ?

    Hi,
              I am using weblogic 5.10 . The session length is too long , i think it
              defaults to (52 bytes).
              Is there anyway the length can be reduced to 8 bytes.
              There is a property "weblogic.httpd.session.sessionIDLength=8 which is
              supposed to reduce the
              length. But this does not have any effect.
              thanks,
              Pat

              Hmmm, in WLS 6.0 you can set this in the web.xml deployment descriptor for
              your web app with IDLength. You are correct, the default is 52 bytes, and
              coincidentally enough 8 bytes is the minimum, max is Integer.MAX_VALUE. I
              don't know if this will work in 5.1 (not much help huh?)
              (weblogic.xml)
              <session-descriptor>
              <session-param>
              <param-name>IDLength</param-name>
              <param-value>8</param-value>
              </session-param>
              </session-descriptor>

  • How can I reduce the shaking of my animations?

    I am using the move effect to move my images from one place to another. Then I scroll the window so the focus will stay on them, How I can reduce the shaking that those moves cost?
    Here is a link for my application, just press continue after the loading is done.
    http://gazman.000space.com
    And another thing if know what program I need to learn so I be able to create SWF animations?

    You can't reduce the size that I know of but you can reduce the number by grouping them. Moving one icon on top of the other will create a folder. Also notice the horizontal scroll dots or swipe feature.

  • Modifying the length of a column list

    Hi,
    I need to maintain a MOSS 2007 site. It has an existing list with some columns to update. I need to reduce the length of these columns. Can I accomplish this operation with no impact on list data_
    Fe, could I have a data truncation respect to these list columns?
    Many thanks

    Hi,
    I seem to have been clear. I need to reduce the lenght of some list columns, thus to reduce the number of characters. The list is already existing and has some thousands of items.
    In order to run a proof, I've modified the length (number of characters) of only one list column and then I've set the original length: the data saved inside the columns hasn't been truncated. So, I've noticed that setting the length of a list
    column inside MOSS 2007 doesn't modify the pre-existing value, because doesn't modify the length of the corresponding column in the content database. Changing the lenght of a column affects only the input data operation in the MOSS list.
    Bye

  • How to remove extraneous noises with out reducing trak length?

    I suppose my question is actually two. A recording I made in Logic Pro contains extraneous sounds of breathing through nose at the end of a lyric phrase and also ‘pops’ because I hadn’t used a shield. How do I eliminate these without reducing the length of the track?
    Thanks

    another option, if you need to edit these sounds out using the sample editor, is to make a cut on the audio region where the noise is. Like if it's at the tail end of a vocal phrase.
    Make a cut right before, and right after that word, and then select that newly created audio region, and use the "Convert Regions to new audio files" found under the mini audio menu.
    This way, any edit you make to this word, which as you discovered actually eliminates audio, thus shifting the WHOLE region forward, only happens to that edited word, and everything after that word remains in tact, and in it's original record position.

  • How can I select and enlarge the entire doc,ge on a page, reducing the surrounding boarder.  I can move the difference text boxes about independently of each other but the outer most boarders of the main template block appear to be fixed.

    How can I select adn enlarge the entire document/image on a page, reducing the the surrounding boarder?  I can move the different text and image boxes around independently of each other but the outer most boarders of the main template block appear to be fixed.  I thought I would be able to enlarge or reduce my document from 'page layout' but this does not seem possible.

    Inspector > Document > Document Margins
    The word is border. Boarders are the Harry Potters of this world.
