Referencing additional instances using JavaScript

Sorry I am new to JavaScript. I am having instance issues. I have a line of code that adds instances of a table and a text field and works great.
Here is the code:
Form1.Body.AddLine.btn_AddLine::click - (JavaScript, client)
Item.instanceManager.addInstance(1);
But when this code runs on the exit it still changes the first instance of the object. It will not change additional lines after they have been added?

Each line has its own instance and the instance number is on the subform and not the object level. So your expression should be:
Body.Item[2].Add_Notes.rawValue = "Bottom Chord Pitch:_________"
If you try to address the object instance with a variable then you would use this type of expression:
xfa.reolveNode("Body.Item[2]")Add_Notes.rawValue

I have tried using document.getElementById(<button name>).disabled=true and document.getElementByName(<button name>).disabled=true and keep getting errors. I am needing this to enable and disable a button depending on a value selected from a select list.

which is used in above code *[value="Cancel"]*.
The normal disabling mechanism with above methods don't work on Template Based Button
as it is not constructed using <input></input> internally in ApEx but using <button></button>
and hence they do not have any attribute id.

Package.Package and Referencing Additional Assemblies Using MsBuild Properties

Hi everybody,
We have a SharePoint 2013 project that depends on shared assemblies (from another of our non-SharePoint projects) being deployed into the GAC. These assemblies are included in our WSP by means of the "Additional Assembiles" feature in the
pacakage.package manifest.
The assemblies are output to a specific location in our build structure on the build machine. Because of this, it's not easy to tell the build machine how to package the .wsp. I can't seem to be able to specify MsBuild properties in the 'Source'
field when adding additional assemblies (it seems the source field references the position of the .csproj).
Is anyone aware of a way to use MsBuild properties in the package.package file?

Okay - I sat down to work on this and ended up down the rabbit hole a bit.
I started off by creating a new MsBuild task that would expand MsBuild variables in the package manifest file and injected the task into the SharePoint packaging process. The packaging process works on the Manifest.xml file, which is placed by the
SharePoint build tasks in an intermediate build directory. The SharePoint build targets allow you to extend BeforeLayout and AfterLayout. In between BeforeLayout and AfterLayout is the PerformLayout target which creates and processes the Manifest.xml
file.
The trouble is that during the BeforeLayout target, the Manifest.xml file doesn't exist yet - it's created during the PerformLayout target. That rules out overriding AfterLayout because errors on the Manifest are generated during the PerformLayout
processing.
Ideally the SharePoint product team can change the build process to create the Manifest.xml file before the BeforeLayout step, which would allow people to come in and process the manifest before it's handed back to SharePoint build process.
An interim fix for this was to fix up our build process so that the additional assemblies are always built to/placed in a fixed location. However, this method is not extensible and represents a brittle breaking-point in the build. In fact, for
this reason I would recommend if at all possible to not use the Additional Assemblies functionality in WSP packaging until MsBuild variables are supported in the packaging. Unfortunately for us we need to use this until we find a better way.

Is the array-referencing syntax notation allowable when using javascript as the calculation language? My hierachy looks like the following:<br /><br /> . form1<br /> . You can use resolveNode on basically anything, so yes you can access the record nodes within the xml data source. The function assist does not have anything when you do record but the nodes are created under record to match the nodes in your XML data source.
I am not sure of what you are trying to do with your example - if you want to return a list of nodes match some expression, then there is another version of resolveNode method which does just that called resolveNodes()
For example if you want to find all conditions_item nodes you would have:
xfa.resolveNodes("xfa.record.conditions.conditions_item[*]")
This returns a collection of Nodes and you can then use .length to see how many are returned. Make sure conditions is a child node of the root element. I am not sure, I think you do not specify the root node when accessing the record nodes.

you cant use JavaScript here in Web Dynpro. But if you want to calculate the sum through a button click that can be done through the Action Handler method.
Suppose you have 2 fields to add whichare field1 and filed2 in the context tree and the sum will be shown in field3 of context tree - all of numeric data type - obviously. So you can do the following in the action handler method.
int sum = wdContext.currentContextElement().getField1() +
wdContext.currentContextElement().getField2();
wdContext.currentContextElement().setFields3(sum);

How to pass a single quote in a URL using Javascript

Can someone tell me how to pass a single quote in a URL using Javascript. I have created a Javascript funciton in which I pass several column values from an APEX report.
The URL for the report link I am using is "JAVASCRIPT:passBack('#EMP_ID#','#Name#','#e-mail#')"
The problem occurs with the Name and e-mail columns contain a single quote (i.e. James O'Brien)

Since I built the report using type 'SQL Query (PL/SQL function fody returning SQL query)' I had to add some additional quotes to get it to work.
i.e.

Child Report Window Size XI 3.0 SP2 Using Javascript

Hi All,
I have to admit this is not my area . I'm trying to get a new webi report in a sizeable window using javascript. I want to achieve this by selecting an open doc link from an existing webi report.
We have been trying with the code below but get the 404 Missing Page error.
We have been trying to get this to work on Edge. Do I need to install any SDK on to the system to get this to work? Can anyone let me know the steps, please.

I have done a bit more digging and I think that you can only create a link referencing Java script in a crystal report, not Webi?
One way I thought of getting round this is to create a copy of opendocument.jp and add my Java script, in there, to resize my child window.
Any comments or experiences to share?

Basically, to add javascript to a PDP (or timesheet page for instance),
edit the page
add the content editor webpart
set it as hidden
copy paste the code
Note that you can also point from the content editor webpart to a js file embedding the javascript code

Using Javascript to require 2 drop down menus to have something selected

Hi everyone. I'm trying to get 2 drop down menus to each have something selected when the form is submitted. I'm using javascript for this, but I can't get it to work. Basically, if one is blank and the other one isn't, I want an error to pop up saying they have to fill in the one that is blank and vice versa. What am I doing wrong? Here's what I have for the javascript and on the form below. My 2 drop down names are Mfg_Spec_Prod_Approval_Initials and Mfg_Spec_Prod_Approval_Rev. Thanks for anyone's help!

   I actually got this javascript below to work so if one drop down is left blank, and the other one is filled out, an error will pop up saying to entering either some initials or a rev. The only problem is that I have a dynamic list of drop downs in rows, so I need this javascript to run for each row. If I do the 1st row with 1 drop down selected and the other not, it gives me the error, which is perfect. But if I want the 2nd row to error out, for instance, doing the same thing, the error will not pop up. How do I make this work so it does this for each row since the list of drop downs is dynamic? My drop down menu names are Mfg_Spec_Prod_Approval_Initials and Mfg_Spec_Prod_Approval_Rev.

Using javascript to set non database values

I finally figured out how to set the values of a non database form field using Javascript. The only problem is, I want this
field to be a display only field, and the value does not get set if I make the field non updateable on the form. Can
somebody please help me!! This is urgent.

One way to do this is to call the doSubmit() function and create a page branch to handle your request. This way you can use apex validations and other goodies if your requirements change. Also this will save the state of your items on the page you are leaving.

I forgot to mention that you can pass a string parameter to the doSubmit function. The parameter will be the request sent to apex. For instance you could use doSubmit('DO_SOMETHING') and you can have a page branch which will fire if the request is equal to DO_SOMETHING.

Rename an XML tag using javascript

I have a requirement to rename XML tags, in the interface for an adobe form, using javascript.
the XML looks like this:

Is this possible and how can I do this? I was hoping that something like renameNode() (for instance) is also possible in the javascript set for adobe forms.
If it's not possible I'm going to have to create new nodes, put the data from the existing node in the new node and remove the original node. This will be a lot more work and just renaming is easier :-).

This is not the best way to write JavaScript in Portal environment!
You can't be sure that a form is the first in the html source!
In Portal you change the order of your portlets, and also you can have several instances of the same portlet on the same page!!!
You should use qualified form and field names!

Character encoding problems when using javascript client-sdk for remoting

I have recently downloaded LCDS to try. I was interested in using Javascript for remoting. I have a Java-based web application on the server side, and use HTML + Javascript (dataservices-client.js) to send/receive messages asynchronously in AMF format.
I can both send and receive data (not only simple types, but objects with several attributes), however when I receive data from the server side that contains special chars (e.g. á, ï), I get some gibberish in my javascript objects. This is not same when I send content to the server: All special characters are received (printed) correctly in Java (server side).

Is there any bug on the serialization?
My software version is Adobe LiveCycle es_data_services_JEE_4_7_all_win

In my attempts, I tried using AMFX serialization so that I could see the message in a more comprehensible format inside my browser (eg using firebug). After configuring an HTTP channel and destination in the server side, and adjusting accordingly in the client side code, the Javascript API still sends binary!
Sadly, I concluded that client-SDK isn't mature enough...
By the way, if you send an String like "&aacute" from the server, in the client you get "á"... instead of the raw "&aacute" ... they forgot escaping.

I had a similar experience. I was interfacing between 4.6 (RFC), PI and ECC 6.0 (ABAP Proxy). When data was passed from ECC to 4.6, RFC received them incorrectly. So i had to send trimmed strings from ECC and receive them as strings in RFC (esp for CURR and QUAN fields). Also the receiver communication channel in PI (between PI and RFC) had to be set as Non unicode. This helped a bit. But still I am getting 2 issues, truncation of values and some additional digits !! But the above changes resolved unwanted characters problem like "<" and "#". You can find a related post in my id. Hope this info helps..

How to use Javascript to load random pages?

I wonder if anyone knows how to use Javascript to load a list
of links stored in the text file.
Every address will take a line, and the Javascript will
randomly select one of the addresses to load.
The user will click the button "random" and access the page
randomly selected by the script.

I forgot to say this because my computer froze......(how
lame)
I got the code for random accessing the links.
But now the problem is, is there anyway to parse a text file
into the array in Javascript?
