Hii,
How can I get an exception through Reflection?
For example:
I have this class:
public class MyClass {
public MyClass (int id) throws FlashException {
if (id > 0)
throw (new MyClassException("Error");
Now in the reflection class when I execute this line
methobj = ct.newInstance(arglist_ct);
I can't get the exception.

The call to newInstance() should throw an InvocationTargetException. Your FlashException will be the cause of that exception; you can get it with getCause() and then process it in whatever manner you desire.

Same Input name with different data type cause the reflection exception
I have a proxy contains couple RFCs. Two RFCs contain an argument named IN_COMPANY_CODE with data type of ZTRE_FX_BUKRSTable. Another RFC contains the same argument name of IN_COMPANY_CODE but hold different data type (String). All RFCs are in the same proxy. Complie and build the application with no issue.
But when I ran the RFC, it generates the reflection exception below:
Method SAPProxy1.Z_F_Tre_R_Pre_Trade_Fx can not be reflected. --> There was an error reflecting 'In_Company_Code'. > The XML element named 'IN_5fCOMPANY_--5fCODE' from namespace '' references distinct types System.String and MSTRFOREX.ZTRE_FX_BUKRSTable. Use XML attributes to specify another XML name or namespace for the element or types.
I realize the conflict introduced by the same name with difference data type. But I would like to know if this is fixable as a bug or if there is any best practice and/or some manual intervention to make it work.Please install fix from OSS note 506603. After this, right-click .sapwsdl file and select "Run custom tool".

When reading a date from the database and using reflection to set a java.sql.Date field in my class I am getting the following error:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException
at sun.reflect.UnsafeObjectFieldAccessorImpl.set(UnsafeObjectFieldAccessorImpl.java:63)
at java.lang.reflect.Field.set(Field.java:519)However the value does appear to be getting set.
Even more strangely if I change the field that I am trying to set to a java.util.Date type then it works fine, but then I can't use the PreparedStatement.setObject() method to set the date for an update/insert.
So I can't win, I can either update or read but not both.
Any ideas?>
Any ideas?The javadocs for Field.set(Object obj,Object value) provides a very specific list of why an IllegalArgumentException might be thrown.
My guess is that you have a access modifier problem. But since you didn't provide code I can't say for certain. -
Work Completion in the cProjects Dashboard is not working
Hi All
In my cProjects dashboard Work Completion is not reflecting the actial figures. It is always displaying as '000'. I have run the evaluation report for dashboard and all other fields are reflecting except this field. Can you guys let me know what could be the problem.

have you entered actual work + remaining / planned work? This KPI is calculated based on that. It is NOT the 1:1 aggregation of the % complete on task level. Regards

Hi, after fixing the difference in the ejb-jar.xml of 6.0 and 6.1 and deploying my mdb, I'm getting an exception, something like UndeclaredThrowableEception or something like a reflect exception, it happened in the deployment of a friend so I haven't retested it again. Anyone experienced it? Anyone fixed it?
Changing core field types isn't possible out of the box. Something like this would take some heavy customization. However, out of the box you can create extended attributes or custom sections the supplier can fill out. The eQ admin could manually transfer that to the core fields when pushing into GSM or you could even have the system transfer that custom data to the core fields on eQ push, save or workflow.

Soap generation doest respect "useServerTypes" ?
It seems that setting the useServerTypes="true" doesnt work in WLS Platform 7.0.0.1.
After getting all sorts of java.lang.NoSuchMethodError's, reflection exceptions (and
pulling my hair out) I have finally tracked down the cause.
The problem it seems is that the servicegen/clientgen tasks are ignoring the useServerTypes
flag. What is happenning is that the gen tasks are generating classes for complex
types that are different to the originals. In particular, the codecs depend on the
generated class (it has to call certain get/set methods in order to serialize/deserialize).
In my case, at runtime, the original files are found first in the classpath - and
hence the string of exceptions.
Has anyone else run into this?

NickThanks for the reply - though, the root problem wasnt the Date/Calender mismatch
- it makes sense if you generate from WSDL. However, with the useServerTypes="true"
flag set, it should have still used Date.
I am not sure how I ended up with the generated-from-wsdl classes - I must have done
something silly. Anyway, its solved now.

The problem is, both java.util.Date and java.util.Calendar
are mapped to xsd:dateTime (5.3.2 in the spec). On the way
back xsd:dateTime is mapped to java.util.Calendar (4.2.1).
So when we generate the WSDL from the service, Date gets
mapped to xsd:dateTime and then when we generate client
from the WSDL xsd:dateTime gets mapped to Calendar.
That is how you are ending up with Calendar in your client
side stub interface.
The reason Calendar is preferred over Date is because
java.util.Date can not fully represent xsd:dateTime.
So the solution (workaround) may be:
- use Calendar on the client side, if you are ok using different
data types on client and server.
- use Calendar at server side.

Update ALV screen - quantity field
Hi All,
Data: o_Ref_Grid Type Ref to cl_Gui_Alv_Grid.
Update the main ALV table with any changes made to the grid (ie check boxes)
Call Function 'GET_GLOBALS_FROM_SLVC_FULLSCR'
Importing
E_Grid = O_Ref_Grid.
Call Method O_Ref_Grid->Check_Changed_Data.
Am using the above code to get the values changed at ALV at runtime.
All changes values are reflecting except the quantity field.
Say I enter 6,000 in quantity (the fdata element in ALV structure is KWMENG) after the call method its becoming 0.006.
Pls suggest solution to solve this.

In SAP ABAP, currency fields are conneted to a CUKY currency ke field and quantity fields are connected to a UNIT field. This is enforced when creating a structure in data dictionary. If field catalog is created by REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE this relationship is transferred to ALV object and handled accordingly.
It is possible to create the relation of quantity to a unit in ALV, it is better to have both in the DDIC structure for the ALV display table.

(1) I am trying to get the data from a database table and import into a text file.
(2) If the record set have the data then it runs ok
(3) when the record set not having any data it is giving the below error

This problem below is the latest of a series of problems i started getting after i updated my BIRT version in Eclipse 3.3.1 and RAD 6.0... One of the funny things here, is that this is happening only when i start websphere in debug mode!

I set up the web service by following these steps:
1 write endpoint application source code
2 write build file and build properties.
3 use asant command compile the source code (successfully)
4 use "asant generate-runtime-artifacts" generate web service artifacts(successfully)
5 use "asant pkg-war" to package war file. (successfully)
6 use "asant deploy-app " to deploy the web service. (successfully)
So, I can find my webservice in administration console. I click the test button, it pop up a webpage, in which I can input parameters for my web method.

installed a Service Pack, make sure that both service pack jar files are at the front of their corresponding

I have an EJB method that uses reflection to do the set<type> methods on the PreparedStatement to set the positional parameters for a SQL query statement.
The first time the method executes, I get a ParameterNotBound exception. I've used the debugger to determine that all the parameters are bound - at least the set<type> methods have been called.
The wierd thing is that all subsequent calls to the the SQL query method work fine.
Does anyone here know where in the PreparedStatement class are the parameters bound. What data element? I'm trying use the debugger to determine what's different the first time the method is called.

vmWhen you run your code standalone there is no security manager so you won't get a PrivilegedActionException. Install a SecurityManager and examine the complete stack trace to see what is going on.
