Refresh Query Button in Dashboard
Hello,
We have created a dashboard where we have used a BEx Query.
Refresh Query Button is added to the Dashboard.
The issue is:
We have two Query Prompt selectors in the Dashboard and these are Query variables used.
In the Dashbaord preview, when I select Calendar Year in the prompt selector, all the data for that year is shown.
Now, when I further select Calendar Month, the data is shown for that selected year and month.
But, when I just want to select another year without any month selected, it does not happen as the month is already selected.
In this scenario, if I click on Refresh button, all the selections in the prompt selectors should be removed and the dashboard should return to the First Display, but it is not doing so....
Can anyone let me know how to clear the values selected in the prompt selectors or how the refresh query button works....
Note: We have not used excel for any data display or calculations, everything is directly connected to BEx Queries.

plz try RESET BUTTON
the reset button does
all the selections in the prompt selectors get removed and the dashboard return to the First Display.
Refresh query button
it refer only the query not the dashboard to refresh dashboard we have to use reset button .

Have you tried to connect this instance from another machine using SQL Server Management Studio?

In IE, they have a refresh screen button, you do not..how do I refresh screen w/you?

If you go to IE you will see it in the tool bar under the address line.And to keep the reload/Stop buttons from combining after moving them elsewhere, either place them as Stop|Reload or put a flexible space in between if you prefer them as Reload|Stop.

Query button in Master/Detail form
Hello All,
I created a Master / detail form...looks good for a blind query and for a specific column value...
The problem is When the user selects query button ,how do I show records that the logged in user has created.
Am already storing username in the table when the user inserts new record.
Appreciate if you could send code ..if that's the choice to fix my issue..

Replace 'A_USER_ID' with name of your user id field . I hope you have selected this field in your form and if not select this field & hide it in the form to make this code to work.

NPD - "Refresh Values" button in Metrics section
Hello,
We use metric functionality for some activities.
Now we would like to create custom reports that show metrics data too.
However reports can not be reliable if team leaders do not manually click on "refresh values" button within activities right before reports are triggered.
If team leaders forget, reports are not correct.
We wish we could build up a small program that automatically refresh all data in all metrics across all activities in the system.
Would it be possible?
Would you please give us a piece of advice?

DanieleAs my opinion, if you attached spreed sheet after adding metrics, it will be automatically refreshed.
But if metrics changed and spreed sheet as normal, you have to update it manually by pressing Refresh Values button.
Unfortunately, you do not support yet. But you can raise a SR for this requirement, we may add this feature in the future version. -
How to save a document programatically when u click on "Run Query" button

I am new to BO Web Intelligence java SDK. I am using Java Report Panel to edit and save the document.
(As per my knowledge the default functionality of the Java Panel is, once u edited the document query and then run the query and as when as u click on the "Save" icon then only the report will be saved into the repository )
What my doubt is ?
Once i edited the query in java query panel, when i click on the "Run Query" button the following operation needs to be performed
1) The doucment has to be saved in the specified reposiory folder.
2) The SQL for the docment has to be captured.
how to do the above operations programatically? can any body help me please.... thanks in advance

Madan KumarYou would have to modify the Java Report Panel to be able to do this. There is no documentation on how to make modifications to the Java Report Panel, and it is beyond the scope of what assistance support would be able to provide you. There may be people in the community that have done this before that can assist you.

Increase Query timeout in Dashboard
Hi,
When we add a query through query browser in dashboard after certain time the connection gets timed out if the system is idle . Normally we can increase time out for webi reports but where could we increase the time for the Bex Queries to get timed out.

I created a Web Intelligence report,there will be more than 30 companies use.The company only allowed to see the Company Data. I want to use the url of the way, from my company in the development of the system to open report, and refresh reported Table data.but do not want users to use the toolbar of "data refresh" button to refresh the data .
Now the question of identity authentication system, as well as statements by url open the question of Has been resolved, but it can not shield statements through the pages of "data refresh" button.

I am working in oracle 10g with developer 2000 as front end (forms and reports 9i) which was developed by software professional. unfortunately i don't have any source code or user manual of the project done by them.
I have a small problem for which i need help / guidance to solve it.
There are around 300 reports in the package and in all the reports the submit query and reset button is placed on the top of the page . It makes me uncomfortable to go to the top of the page after entering all the parameters for the report.
I did check from the source of that page and i found out where the submit query and reset button is and placed it at the bottom as per my requirement. But i don't know where the changed source should be saved. since if i run from the changed htm file the sumit query button is at the bottom, but if i run the report from the front end it is at the top without the changes.
i would be thankful if i could get some suggestion as to where this htm file will be in the package and how to make the changes.

How do you hide the Page Options button on dashboards in 11g?

I would like to hide the "Page Options" button on a dashboard in 11g. I found some examples on how to do it in 10g, and they all talk about editing a file called dashboardtemplates.xml. I can't find this file on my 11g BI server, so I'm assuming the file was part of 10g but not 11g. Has anyone figured out how to hide the "Page Options" button on a dashboard in 11g?

thanks for your reply, but I have a feeling that your solution is for obiee 10g and not for obiee 11g. We are using 11g, and when running Analytics (Answers), I don't see a "Settings" option, but I seem to recall that in 10g there is a "Settings" button/link. Also, I don't understand how your solution answers my question. You describe how to grant "everyone" read permissions on dashboards, but I want to know how to hide the "Page Options" button on dashboards.

Error when clicking on refresh all button in excell add in

One of our users is facing an issue when clicked on the refresh all button on excel.
Below is the error she is getting.
"Request Definition has been changed on server since last download. Please use edit Prompts and levels to select new filters.tableView"
Sometimes it does work and sometimes it doesnt.
How can we rectify this issue? Please advice.

Where has the copy query button gone to in BEx Anlayzer 7.0?

In BEx Analyzer 3.5, there is a copy query button under tools. It allows you to copy query within a workbook to another sheet.
I can't find this button in BEx Analyzer 7.0.
Any idea on how to get this copy query button back?
Thanks.A good workaround is the "Add Drilldown According to..... in New Worksheets" context menu selection. Once you have your worksheet/report the way you want it, from the navigational panel with free characteristics, choose a field that has one or two values in it (you can put in filter values to do this, ie 2 calendar years). Right click and choose the entry "Add drilldown according to...". This will create new worksheets for every value contained in the infoprovider for that characteristic (hence the need to apply a filter). The new worksheets will be a replica of sheet one, filtered by and named by the characteristic values you've chosen.
From there you can continue to filter, drilldown, etc.
