Refreshing an array

i have chess program which has newgame() method inside it
with local array
now i implemented loading postion of my game form file and when i load game it display board [with new array(array in updateloaded from file)] but still use [arrays in (defualt)new game] as its calculation array how can i reset value(in new game) [it correct itself after the first move) i think it construct progame with old value and it refresh them when it through it once.it work properly after other player make its move
how can i tell loadgame with load arrays rather arrays in newgame.
does anything to do with how i initial the array.

[code]
Class Board{
int loadboard[]= new int [120];
int loadboardcolor[]= new int [120];
public void drawloadBoard(){
updateload();
repaint();
}public void updateload()
{     for (int i=21;i<99 ;i++ )
{ board<i>=loadboard<i>;
boardcolor<i> = loadboardcolor<i>;
}public void newgame ()
{     //generate original position
     int [] openningpostion = {     7,Pawn,Pawn,Pawn,Pawn,Pawn,Pawn,Pawn,Pawn,7,          7,FreshRook,Knight,Bisshop,Queen,Freshking,Bisshop,
Knight,FreshR };
int [] Coloropenning=     {     7,White,White,White,White,White,White,White,White,7,          7,White,White,White,White,White,White,White,White,7,            };}
// here it method which should update my board
for (int i=0; i < 120; i++)
{ board <i> = openningpostion <i>;
     boardcolor<i> = Coloropenning<i>;      }}
tanx

I tried your code and it did work. I implemented your suggestion but in my application it keeps adding the new data as an additional curve. I cannot append the new data, even if the shift register feeds the data into the build array. I can't see at the moment what I did wrong...

    You need to provide the full error. This is not enough information.

  • AdvancedDataGrid - create Array (cfquery) with children for hierarchical data set

    I'm trying to create an AdvancedDataGrid with a hierarchical
    data set as shown below. The problem that I am having is how to
    call the data from a ColdFusion remote call and not an
    ArrayCollection inside of the Flex app (as below). I'm guessing
    that the problem is with the CFC that I've created which builds an
    array with children. I assume that the structure of the children is
    the issue. Any thoughts?

    I had similar problems attempting to create an Array of
    Arrays in a CFC, so I created two differents scripts - one in CF
    and one in Flex - to build Hierarchical Data from a query result.
    The script in CF builds an Hierarchical XML document which is then
    easily accepted as HIerarchical Data in Flex. The script in Flex
    loops over the query Object that is returned as an Array
    Collection. It took me so long to create the XML script, and I now
    regret it, since it is not easy to maintain and keep dynamic.
    However, it only took me a short while to build this ActionScript
    logic, which I quite like now (though it is not [
    yet ] dynamic, and currently only handles two levels of
    Hierarchy):
    (this is the main part of my WebService result handler)....
    // Create a new Array Collection to store the Hierarchical
    Data from the WebService Result
    var categories:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection();
    // Create an Object variable to store the parent-level
    objects
    var category:Object;
    // Create an Object variable to store the child-level
    objects
    var subCategory:Object;
    // Loop through each Object in the WebService Result
    for each (var object:Object in results)
    // Create a new Array Collection as a copy of the Array
    Collection of Hierarchical Data
    var thisCategory:ArrayCollection = new
    ArrayCollection(categories.toArray());
    // Create a new instance of the Filter Function Class
    var filterFunction:FilterFunction = new FilterFunction();
    // Create Filter on the Array Collection to return only
    those records with the specified Category Name
    thisCategory.filterFunction =
    filterFunction.NameValueFilter("NAMETXT", object["CATNAMETXT"]);
    // Refresh the Array Collection to apply the Filter
    thisCategory.refresh();
    // If the Array Collection has records, the Category Name
    exists, so use the one Object in the Collection to add Children to
    if (thisCategory.length)
    category = thisCategory.getItemAt(0);
    // If the Array Collection has no records, the Category Name
    does not exist, so create a new Object
    else
    // Create a new parent-level Object
    category = new Object();
    // Create and set the Name property of the parent-level
    Object
    category["NAMETXT"] = object["CATNAMETXT"];
    // Create a Children property as a new Array
    category["children"] = new Array();
    // Add the parent-level Object to the Array Collection
    categories.addItem(category);
    // Create a new child-level Object as a copy of the Object
    in the WebService Result
    subCategory = object;
    // Create and set the Name property of the child-level
    Object
    subCategory["NAMETXT"] = object["SUBCATNAMETXT"];
    // Add the child-level Object to the Array of Children on
    the parent-level Object
    category["children"].push(subCategory);
    // Convert the Array Collection to a Hierarchical Data
    Object and use it as the Data Provider for the Advanced Data Grid
    advancedDataGrid.dataProvider = new

  • Clearing array in movie clip

    In frame 1 one presses a button and an array ("array 1") of
    11 jpgs load into a movie clip "_root.overview".
    On frame 2 when another button is pressed another array
    ("array2") loads into the same movie clip "_root.overview". The
    only problem is that the second array has one less image than the
    first array and the extra image remains persistent if one toggles
    back.
    Is there a way to clear an array before reloading another in
    the same clip. I tried unloadMovie but that unloads everything. I
    need a way to refresh the array each time it is clicked.
    Thanks

    Clearing out the array isn't going to get you anywhere. You
    need to first
    unload the movies you loaded in. You should be using
    MovieClipLoader class,
    along with its unloadClip method.
    You say you're loading images into an overview clip - how are
    you loading in
    the movies?
    Also, why is clearing out everything (with unloadMovie) bad?
    You load in new
    images anyway right?

  • Dispatch Event for loaded Netconnection datas

    Hi All!
    I made a manager component to retrieve data from database
    through amfphp.
    When the datas are loaded at the end of the "onResult"
    function, I dispatch an event "contactLoader"
    Another parent mxml component has an instance of my manager
    component with a call to a function contactLoader="getData()",
    and then this function calls in turn the getContacts()
    function of the instantiated manager component to retrieve the
    datas. Thus I am sure that the datas are correctly loaded by my
    manager before to retrieve the Array.
    But I would like to refresh this array in case any change has
    been made in the database. The problem is that the listener is
    created automaticly by the instance of my manager component and the
    "contactLoader" already exists once the data are loaded once. I
    need a way to reload the data in the manager , create a new event
    once the data are downloaded and then my parent component can call
    one more time the getContacts function.
    Is it the right way to do that? I'm not skilled enouth to
    solve that problem. Thanks for your help.

    I'm not sure what the issue is...you can fire a new
    contactLoader event
    whenever you need to.

  • Edit filtered ArrayCollection messes up Datagrid

    I understand Datagrid + itemrenderer is a frustrating issue
    sometimes. After Googling around, I got no luck solving my problem.
    It goes like this:
    I have an ArrayCollection
    objectArray as the dataprovider for a datagrid. I applied a
    filtered function on
    objectArray and the datagrid displayed the filtered array
    with no problem. However, when I looped through the filtered array
    and made some changes, the datagrid went crazy. The order got
    changed and some of the changed values didn't show up as changed.
    Did anyone come across the same issue? Can anyone give me
    some idea of what's going on?
    Thanks.

    mmm...
    Filter should be working, lets try to change Item for object.
    private function changeValue():void {
    for each (var item:Object in myArray) {
    item.value = true;
    myArray.refresh();

  • Help needed in refreshing a button array

    Hi,
    I am developing a GUI, in which window1 is in package pack1 & window2 in pack2. from window1, clicking "Add" button window2 appears.
    In window1, I am storing the content of a particular directory in my file system as a string array. So, each string in the string array is used as the label of a button in the button array. The no. of buttons corresponds to the no. of files in the directory. window1 is having a panel that displays the buttonarray.
    In window2, I have created a textfield and a "ok" button. whatever textinput(string) I give to the textfield, after clicking "ok" that is stored as a file in the directory, to which window1 refers for its buttons.
    My requirement is: During runtime, when I am creating new files thru the textfield of window2,those files need to be added to the panel of window1 dynamically updating the directory content.
    So, how can I refresh the panel in window1 after adding a file thru textfiels in window2.
    If anybody has any idea about this, please let me know soon.
    Regards.

    Hello,
    I have not got the solution. So, still I am waitiong for the answer.

  • Object Array Data Provider Refresh Possible bug

    Hello
    I am having a problem with Object Array Data Provider in terms that the table's data is not changed corectly after a request as expected, but after two requests.
    Steps to reproduce the bug:
    0. Create a new Visual Web project, call it 'test'.
    Set 'Bundled Tomcat ' or 'Sun 9' as deploy target server.
    Edit 'Page1' of the project.
    1. Create an Entity class, simple class that has only getters and setters with a few fields (lets say 'id' and 'name').
    2. In the SessionBean1 that is generated by the framework create an array of Entity class named 'entityArr', and getters and setters for this field.
    3. Add a new Array Object Data Provider on the page and set in its properties as array the array created in the previous step 'entityArr (SessionBean1)'.
    4. Add a new table component, and set as data provider the provider created in step 3.
    In the Table's Layout map the fields from the Entity class, and set whatever compnents you desire for each component's type or leave the default ones (Static Text).
    5. Add a 'property change trigger component' on the page. I called it like this because I tried the following :
    5.1 A text field and a button to submit the text value
    5.2 A Calendar component with autosubmit
    5.3 A DropDown with autosubmit.
    6. On the property change trigger component created at step 5 set a value_changed method that changes the the array that should be displayed by the table.
    For Example, for a DropDown component, you will have a method like this :
    public void dropDown1_processValueChange(ValueChangeEvent event) {
    String idStr = (String) event.getNewValue();
    System.out.println("Entity id :"+idStr);
    if(idStr .equals("item1")) {
    fillSessionBean1(true);
    else {
    fillSessionBean1(false);
    getSessionBean1().setItemName(idStr);
    private void fillSessionBean1(boolean fillValues) {
    Entity[] values ;
    if(fillValues) {
    values = new Entity[4];
    for ( int i=0;i<values.length; i++) {
    Entity entity = new Entity();
    entity.setDescription("Description "+i);
    entity.setName("Name "+i);
    entity.setId(i) ;
    values[i] = entity;
    else {
    //values = new Entity[0];
    values = null;
    getSessionBean1().setEntityArr(values);
    7. When running the program, if the selected is Item1, the table does not show the array set if on this branch.
    I am using :
    Netbeans 5.5 build 20061017100,
    Visual Web Pack 070104_2,
    Ent.Pack 20061212
    jdk 1.6.0
    Operating Systems : Both Linux Suse10 and Windows.
    If anyone has a solution for this please let me know.

    OK
    While no one responded, I had to think for myself.
    There is a bug in the code generated by netbeans or there is nowhere specified that if you attach an array to a data provider you will have to notify by hand the data provider that the array has changed.
    You will have to put this line that is generated in init function in your valuechanged functions :
    objectArrayDataProvider1.setArray((java.lang.Object[])getValue("#{SessionBean1.entityArr}"));
    I think this aproach is a little bit wrong, even it works.
    I believe the data provider should be notified the array has been changed.
    There could be a much more simple aproaches :
    1. In the code generated by netbeans, if you attach an array to a data provider the data provider will be notified after any set(Object[])
    2. The data provider could have a function so you will ne anle to attach to the data provider an Object (the session bean, in my case) and the name of the function that retrieves the array (in my case, 'getEntityArr') .
    The code generated by netbeans could add this function easily.
    Maybe there are any other better aproaches, and I might be wrong.
    It's good that it works.

  • Table data does not refresh

    Using LV2010.
    A table displays the test configuration that has been selected by the user.  This appeared to work fine until recently.
    Nothing in that area of the code has changed .
    The issue is that although valid data exists on the wire and it even gets written to file, nothing is displayed in the table.
    The operator can click multiple times and nothing is displayed.  Even when running with highlight execution turned ON, the table does not get refreshed.
    Unfortunately, each time the operator click the button to insert the configuration, it does.  But it is not displayed.  The same list goes to the table.  You would expect the subsequent attempts would cause all the items to be displayed when it finally does, but no... only the last selection gets displayed.
    I've recently taken over the project and did notice that a previously working feature was not working.  That feature was to allow multiple selections to be inserted at once.  I suspect the feature still workes, but the table only displays a single line of data.
    I did find a thread that started to discuss a similar behavior with a link to a description of the bug, but that page appears to have dissappeared from the website.  It was discussed in 2005.
    Is there a way to force a refresh display on a table?  Another thought... Could it be that the table is displaying data from a portion further down the list which makes it appear as if there is no data?  As I said earlier, this section of code was not touched and it is the only area where the table data is updated and the display refreshed..
    Has anyone else seen this behavior?
    As can be seen above, the probe does "see" the data on the wire.  The screen capture was taken after the data flow had completed the entire state. The wire itself claims to have a 2D array of 1 X 11 elements.  Normally, this data would be displayed.  I can't think of why it wouldn't be displayed.  If I could, I wouldn't be posting this..
    I am curious if this is a LV bug...

  • How Do You Populate A Spark List Control With An Array?

    Hello, all,
    Sorry to come accross so frustrated, but how in the name of God do you populate a Spark list control with the data in an array?  You used to be able to do this with the mx:List control, but the guys developing Flex just had to make things more difficult than they need to be!  I am more of a code purist and prefer doing things the way they have been done for decades, but apparently nothing can ever stay simple!
    I simply want to populate a list control with an array and this shouldn't be rocket science!  I found out that I must use a "collection" element, so I decided that an arrayCollection would be best.  However, after searching Adobe's documentation about arrayCollections, I am lost in a black hole of data binding, extra lines of code just to add a new element, the need to sort it, etc...!
    Here is my code:
    var pendingArray:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection();
    for ( var i:int = 0 ; i < queue.length ; i++ )
         var item:UserQueueItem = queue[i] as UserQueueItem ;
         if ( item.status == UserQueueItem.STATUS_PENDING )
         pendingArray.addItem({label:item.descriptor.displayName,descriptor:item.descriptor});
    Here is the relevant MXML:
    <s:VGroup>
         <s:List id="knockingList" width="110" height="100"/>
    </s:VGroup>
    I'm not getting any errors, but the list is not populating.
    I have seen several examples where the arrayCollection is declared and populated in MXML:
            <mx:ArrayCollection id="myAC">
                <!-- Use an fx:Array tag to associate an id with the array. -->
                <fx:Array id="myArray">
                    <fx:Object label="MI" data="Lansing"/>
                    <fx:Object label="MO" data="Jefferson City"/>
                    <fx:Object label="MA" data="Boston"/>
                    etc...
               </fx:Array>
            </mx:ArrayCollection>
    That may be fine for an example, but I think this is a rare situation.  Most of the time I would image that the arrayCollection would be created and populated on the fly in ActionScript!  How can I do this?
    Thanks in advance for any help or advice anyone can give!
    Matt

    In your post it seemed like you were trying to take care of many considerations at once: optimization, design, architecture.  I would suggest you get something up and running and then worry about everything else.
    If I use data binding, then I will probably have to declare the  arrayCollection as a global variable and then I'll have to write 100 or  so extra lines of code to addItem(), removeItem(), sort(), etc...  It  just seems like too much overhead.
    I believe you may have some misconceptions about databinding in general.  You won't have to make it a global variable and you certainly won't need an extra 100 lines of code.  If you did this forum would be a very , very quiet place.
    I don't want to use data binding because the original array is refreshed  often and there is one function called by an event that re-declares the  arrayCollection each time, populates it with the array, and then sets  it as the list's dataprovider.
    That is the beauty of the ArrayCollection, it can handle the updates to its source Array. I don't know if you need to redeclare the ArrayCollection, resetting the source to the new Array allows everyone involved to keep their references so you don't have to worry about any "spooky" stuff going on.

  • After updating to 10.10.2, my OpenGL applications do not work, and there are problems with window updates/refresh in App Store, and many applications, Google Chrome is unusable.

    After performing the OS X 10.10.2 update, OpenGL applications, for example Starry Night Pro fail to run, there are numerous windows update/refresh problems (incomplete refresh, remnants of window/frame borders), and some applications, for example Google Chrome are unusable, as cursor motion in the application window causes the display to flash horizontal bars in the window.
    I've tried a variety of things, including downloading the most current release of Xcode, turning on/off transparency in Accessibility, graphics switching, and a few other things, but the problem persists.
    The App Store display behaves similarly.  I am running a MacBook Pro.
    This is the output from EtreCheck:

  • Refresh browser causes to increment results

    Hi,
    I have a servlet that is using a database to query results from a survey. The survey has 3 questions and each one of them has 4 possible answers. The query runs fine and displays in the web browser, but once I do a refresh some of the data increments its value at a constant rate.
    Here is the code:
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.util.StringTokenizer;
    public class Survey extends HttpServlet {
    private Connection con = null;
    private Statement stmt = null;
    private String url = "jdbc:odbc:survey";
    private String table = "results";
    private int numQues = 3;
    private int [] numAns = {4,4,4};
    private int num = 0;
    public void init() throws ServletException {
    try {
    // loading the jdbc-odbc bridge
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    // making a connection
    con = DriverManager.getConnection(url,"anonymous","guest");
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    con = null;
    public void doPost(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)
    throws ServletException, IOException {
    String [] results = new String[numQues];
    for (int i=0;i<numQues;i++) {
    results = req.getParameter("q"+i);
    // test if the user has answered all the question
    String resultsDb = "";
    for (int i=0;i<numQues;i++) {
    if (i+1!=numQues) {
    resultsDb += "'" + results + "',";
    else {
    resultsDb += "'" + results + "'";
    boolean success = insertIntoDb(resultsDb);
    // print a thank you message
    res.setContentType("text/html");
    PrintWriter output = res.getWriter();
    StringBuffer buffer = new StringBuffer();
    buffer.append("<HTML>");
    buffer.append("<HEAD>");

    else {
    buffer.append("An error has occurred. Please press the back button of your browser");
    buffer.append(" and try again.");
    buffer.append("</P>");
    buffer.append("</BODY>");
    buffer.append("</HTML>");
    output.println(buffer.toString());
    output.close();

    Hi,
    I do encounter similar problem. The root cause was that URL at the location bar of the browser still pointing to the same servlet (which handle the HTTP POST/GET request to update the database) after the result was returned by the servicing servlet.
    For example, in your case the "Survey" servlet URL.
    The scenario is like this.
    1.Browser (HTML form) ---HTTP post ---> Survey Servlet (service & update database)
    2.Survey Servlet -- (Result in HTML via HttpServletResponse)---> Browser (display the result)
    Note that after step 2, the browser's location bar value still pointing to the Survey Servlet URL (used in the HTML form's action value). So if the refresh is performed here, the same action will be repeated, as the result, 2 identical records have been created in your database table instead of one.
    A way to work around this is to split the servlet in to two, one performing the update of database and one responsible to display the result.
    Thing become as follow:
    1.Browser (HTML form) ---HTTP post ---> Survey Servlet (service & update database)
    2.Survey Servlet -- (Redirect the Http request)---> Display Result ServletBrowser
    3.Display Result Servlet --(Acknowledgement in HTML via HttpServletResponse) ---> Browser (display the result)
    Note that now the browser's location bar will point to the Display Result Servlet. Refresh action will be posted to Display Result Servlet which will not create duplication of database update activity.
    to redirect the request to another servlet, use the res.sendRedirect(url); where res is the HttpServletResponse object and url is the effective url of calling the target servlet.
    Hope that this help.

  • Excel 2010 Pivot Table VBA Not Refreshing Table

    My company recently upgraded from Excel 2003 to 2010. I had VBA written to take source data and convert it into a number of Pivot Tables on a number of worksheets. It has been working fine for years. After upgrading to 2010 the VBA crashed. I tracked it
    down to the fact that when my code was making changes to the Pivot Tables (changing fields, filters, etc...) the pivot table on the worksheet had no data, but the fields were there. I can manually go to the pivot table and manually refresh and all the data
    comes in.
    So I tried adding the VBA code to refresh the pivot table, but the pivot tables will not refresh with data.
    I tried:
    ActiveSheet.PivotTables("WO Pivot").RefreshTable
    and
    ActiveWorkbook.RefreshAll
    And these did not work.
    I also tried recording a macro for the manual steps to refresh and got:
     ActiveSheet.PivotTables("WO Pivot").PivotCache.Refresh
    This does not work either.
    The PivotTable name is correct, but I tried using the number as well, and the name works for other code manipulating the the pivot table.
    e.g.:
    With ActiveSheet.PivotTables("WOPivot").PivotFields("Task Title")
          .Orientation = xlRowField .Position = 2
          .Subtotals = Array(False, False, False, False, False, False, False, False, False, False, _False, False)
    End
    With Why isn't this working? Is there another way to refresh pivot table data in 2010?
    Thanks. P.S. I've tried formating this so it is readable, but it comes out garbled. Hope this looks better.

    The solution above didn't work for me, but the following did the trick:
    ActiveSheet.PivotTables("WOPivot").PivotCache.Refresh
    By the way, I identified it by recording a macro, then going on the Pivot Table that needed refreshing and pressing F9 to refresh it. The line of VBA code above was the result.
    Cheers,
    Marco.

    There is a new hype going on called AJAX. It is either that, or dumping a lot of information in javascript arrays and reading the information from there when you make selections. I would choose AJAX.
