Refreshing File System in JFilechooser

Hi,
In my Java application, I have a JFilechooser, which is not instantiated every time it is opened.
My problem is that once i launch my application, and then change some files folders in the underlying file system, then these changes are not reflected in the file chooser, untill i reopen my application.
so is there any method which will refresh the contents of my file chooser, without re-instantiating it ?
hoping for a quick response.
thanx

But I don't want to add any content, bloat to the doc.
I may just try to write a legit plug-in, since I have a little experiance writing C++ plug-ins for InDesign. But I wold like to just confirm that this functionality does not exist in Acrobat with scripting (due to sandboxing etc).
Thanks

  • JFileChooser and other types of "file" systems

    Good afternoon...
    just wondering how reasonable it would be to modify JFileChooser to work with other types of file systems. such as .zip archives, remote FTPs, etc.
    any ideas where i should start?
    i even want to use this for something that doesn't contain files at all, but the analogy works perfectly.

  • Pool file systems cannot be refreshed - Oracle VM 3.0.2

    Hi all,
    I am using Oracle VM Server Oracle VM Manager 3.0.2 and 3.0.2, was presented a 386GB LUN, I make the creation of the Pool add the server that will be part of this pool, it creates and mounts the partition and some directories within the LUN (DB, etc.) but when I create a repository he displays the following message:
    Filesystem is OVMRU_007001E Pool Pool 1 - Pool file systems can not be refreshed.
    What can I do to solve this problem?
    tks,

The large LUN is then used for the repository. It sounds like you've assigned this LUN as the pool filesystem, which means it is no longer available to be used for anything else.
    You need to dismantle the pool, destroy the LUN, create two new LUNs and use those instead. You can't reuse the existing LUN as it has already been formatting as a pool filesystem. There is a manual way to scrub it, but it's probably easier just to delete and recreate it. Remember to remove the pool first.

  • How to Refresh JTree if a file System got changed during Run-time

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me how to refresh a JTree(javax.swing.JTree) used for displaying file system(both local and remote).
    I'm getting a problem if a file/directoy is added to the file system, after my Applet is loaded. Actually, i have used DefaultTreeModel's reload() method for refreshing and calling it inside SwingUtilities.invokeLater() using Thread, but its not working.
    I want that the tree should reflect the latest Files/Directories on the click of a node, if any file or directory is added under that node.
    Plz tell me if this is possible or not.
    Thanks

    Hi Shay_te,
    Thanx for ur reply as i was eagerly waiting for the one.
    but the example is using the TreeTable
    and i have used JTree and DefaultTreeModel.
    I'm calling reload(node) within treeExpand() method
    Then, i'm regestring addTreeModelListener() as
    m_model.addTreeModelListener(new javax.swing.event. TreeModelListener(){ }
    inside which all 4 methods are over-ridden
    code snippet is as follows so plz help me and tell if this the right way:
    class DirExpansionListener implements TreeExpansionListener{
            DirExpansionListener(){
            public void treeExpanded(TreeExpansionEvent event) {
                final DefaultMutableTreeNode node = getTreeNode(event.getPath());
                final FileNode fnode = getFileNode(node);
                Thread runner = new Thread() {
                    public void run() {
                        if (fnode != null && fnode.expand(node)) {
                            Runnable runnable = new Runnable() {
                                public void run() {
                                    try{

  • Implementing a remote file system to use with JFileChooser

    Hi all
    What I want to do is create a virtual file system so that I can browse through it with JFileChooser, select a file, and then take the correct action. If anyone has something like this that they can post it'd be much appreciated. Otherwise, does anyone have any advice about creating a navigation tool for traversing a vertual file system?

    It appears that some people have indeed created some graphical FTP clients incorporating JFileChooser capabilities. The first entry on the search (and a few others) appear useful.

  • Folders not appearing in file system

    Ok, so here is my issue.  I have a law firm that asked me to set up a simple backup script for their network drive... back up all their case files to external hard drives.  The network is mostly Windows XP computers with one Windows 7 computer.
     The share drive is on a windows XP computer that I don't have direct access to normally (Its the attorney's office computer and it is rarely available to work on during the regular business day, which is the only time I have to work).  So, I created
    a batch file, which is left on the backup drives, to xcopy the files through a symbolically linked directory on the C drive.  I did that so I could set the same symbolic directory on all the computers and the script will work regardless of which computer
    they are plugged into.
    So, my script runs xcopy with the /d /v /y /e flags, plus an exclusion file excluding random things like $RECYCLE.BIN and /RECYCLER/.  Because a lot of the computers are XP, robocopy wasn't an option.  Regardless, I found that running robocopy
    created the same problem anyway.
    After copying everything over, the file system stops recognizing the backup directory.  My batch file is still there.  The exclusion text file is still there.  The Backup directory, however, just vanishes.  It almost like its hidden,
    but it doesn't show up when hidden files and directory are shown and, in the CLI, dir /ah doesn't pick it up either.  It is there though... trying to create another "Backup" directory at that location is rejected and, if I remember where things
    are, I can still cd into the directory structure.  I have tried restarting the external hardrive.  I've tried rebooting the computer.  I've tried refreshing the explorer.  Nothing works.  If I copy the files over, the directory that
    I copy them to just stops being recognized... every single time.  Not sure if it matters, but I formatted the hard drives to NTFS.  So, any ideas?
    As a side note... $300 for tech support?  Really?  What I'm doing is really basic and simple, and I'm not using anything that isn't integral to your software... xcopy.  You want me to pay $300 to report and fix bugs that are either in a fundamental
    component of your own command line application suite or with the compatibility of your file system?  "Lets get them to pay for something that doesn't work and then make them pay us to fix it!"  That is blatantly unethical.  In any
    other industry it wouldn't even come close to being legit.  If you paid a plumber to install piping in your house, and then your house flooded right after you turned the water on, is it reasonable to have to pay him again to fix the problems that he caused?
     Nobody would tolerate it... but somehow its a standard practice here.  Your solution is "Either pay us, or get the community of other users to help you".  There is a good reason why my entire business (not the law firm, but my business)
    runs on Linux and other open source software.  If we are being told to "fix it yourselves" anyway, then I at least want access to the source code so I can.  Seriously... I hate it when I have to come here to correct issues with MS overpriced,
    bloated, proprietary POS.

    If i read this correctly you are going the other way but copying files from Windows XP to a Windows 7 machine will cause networking to drop out on the Win7 machine, you have to do some registry tweaks for the networking for it to not drop out. I've run into
    that several times.
    If that has nothing to do with your issue the only thing i can think of is an issue with your script causing it to delete or not successfully copy the files. I've used xcopy /dicey for lots of things without an issue though. Perhaps it is something with
    your exclusions or symbolic links. Maybe drop the /v off and see if that makes a difference?

  • Crystal Report failed scheduling onto the File System

    Hi,
    We have set up a Crystal report file for scheduling via file system. This report has been running fine with regards to generation all through last few months, but has started failing to generate the report at the scheduled time onto the file system from the last few days. When I checked the logs of the Instance Manager, it shows an error like this 'Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 1017 ]'.
    Please note, I was able to run the report from InfoView without any issue, so I don't believe there is any issue with stored procedure/report/database connection but something else.
    Can someone please provide some insights on this.
    Thanks.

    Hello Satish,
    Is this issue specific to FileSystem location? What about default enterprise location?
    When you view the reprt in InfoView, click on Refresh button to get current data. If the repot was published with Saved Data option, then you would see data in the report but it would be old one.
    Above step would confirm that there is no issues with database user credentials specified with the report.
    Also, open the report in Crystal Reports 2011, refresh it and publish without saved data in BI 4 repository and schedule it.
    Regards,
    Mahesh

    As the EXIT CODE is 31 ( A device attached to the system is not functioning), I have checked device manager and made sure there is no yellow warning shown against any hardware device. Further I am not sure how to proceed and debug this issue.
    Please let me know if you have any suggestion on how debug this issue further.

    My solution was to run netstat -ano to identify what process was running on port TCP/UDP :111, then with the command tasklist I got PID matching with the task name. Once identified I stopped the process, rebooted and installed
    the NFS service. On top of that, before installing NFS services I disabled firewall and antivirus. It worked fine for me. I hope this will be usefull for you. By the way, don't forget to enable all process back!
    Have a good one!

  • Error with "File System" destination only in a Publication

    Hello,
    I am able to have individual reports run & refresh to a File System destination, but when I attempt to have the same reports, as part of a Publication, save to a File System destination, I receive this error in the log:
    ERROR PublishingService:HandlerPool-32 BusinessObjects_PublicationAdminLog_Instance_15516 - Publication ID # 15516 - Distribution to destination CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged ... destination DLL disabled. [http://CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged ([1]/1])]: [ (FBE60013)
    If I use Email instead of File System in this Publication, the Publication runs fine, no issues.
    Thanks for any help.

    Let's start with proper terminology
    You're not sending report to unmanaged disk, you're scheduling it there.
    When you use publication - you're publising it there.
    2 different worflows, that use 2 different servers. Each server has to be configured for this functionality.
    It is done in CMC in servers properties.
    Admin guide will give you information on what each server in BO architecture is responcible for and what are the parameters that needs to be set for various workflows.

  • Oracle eSSO - File System Synchronization

    I'm having a lot of trouble just setting up a simple file system synchronization for Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On v10.1.0.2 or v10.1.0.4 (I've tried both). I've tried it many ways, but the agent never seems to be visible to the admin console. Here is the simplest example:
    On a single test machine, install the Admin Console. Use the Admin Console to create a new set of Global Agent Settings. Leave everything to default except under Synchronization, click Manage Synchronizers. Create a new synchronizer with synch type 'File System'. Go to the Required subkey and enter a network share under 'Server'. In this example, I created a share on the same local machine. The share gives 'Full Control' to 'Everyone' and 'Domain Users' groups. Save these settings in the Admin Console. Then Go to Tools > Generate Customized MSI in the Admin Console, exporting the newly created Global Agent Settings to the customized agent installer MSI. Then on the same test machine, install the agent by using the customized MSI. During the agent installation, choose 'Custom' and enable installation of Extensions > Synchronization Manager and File System synchronization type.
    So, that's what I've done. When I then go back to the Admin Console and connect to the repository (the share setup on the local machine) and select 'Configure SSO Support', the result is that it creates a folder called 'People' and two override objects: ENTLIST and ADMINOVERRIDE. That's it. No matter how many or where I install agents on this computer or elsewhere on the network 1) the admin console does not seem to see them 2) the ENTLIST of customized applications never gets pushed to the agents. In fact the ENTLIST shown in the Repository within the Admin Console does not seem to update when the apps list in the admin console is updated (even if I press 'Refresh' in the repository).
    Can anyone help? Is it something silly like the order in which I've done things, or did I miss a step somewhere?

    Hi,
    I have the same problem, but I use an Active Directory in the basckend :o(
    I'm able to configure the admin console (connection to AD, create a global agent for my AD server). When I install the ESSO-Agent on the same machine (where the administrative console is already installed)...it's quite easy because the following "option" is available : "Export Apps to Agent"!!! Using this, there is no problem.
    On the other hand, when I install the ESSO-Agent on the user's workstation...it's really an other story :o( For the monent, I'm not able to get the credentials (pre-configured applications) from Active Directory. I think that the (Global Agent) settings have been successfully pushed into AD, but I'm not able to get them from the user's workstation.
    What are the steps to realize this operation (get the pre-configured applications from AD)?
    I always get a connection window which requires the following three parameters: username, password and user path.
    Because AD is my backend server, I thought that the following "values" were correct...., but that's not the case, and I'm sure that I'm not connected to AD:
    username: cn=toto toto,cn=users,dc=name,dc=com
    password: mypwd
    user path: dc=name,dc=com
    I hope that you have resolved your problem, and that someone could help me :o)
    Thanks a lot.

  • ZFS file system mount in solaris 11

    Create a ZFS file system for the package repository in the root pool:
    # zfs create rpool/export/repoSolaris11
    # zfs list
    The atime property controls whether the access time for files is updated when the files are read.
    Turning this property off avoids producing write traffic when reading files.
    # zfs set atime=off rpool/export/repoSolaris11
    Create the required pkg repository infrastructure so that you can copy the repository
    # pkgrepo create /export/repoSolaris11
    # cat sol-11-1111-repo-full.iso-a sol-11-1111-repo-full.iso-b > \
    sol-11-1111-repo-full.iso
    # mount -F hsfs /export/repoSolaris11/sol-11-1111-repo-full.iso /mnt
    # ls /mnt
    # df -k /mnt
    Using the tar command as shown in the following example can be a faster way to move the
    repository from the mounted file system to the repository ZFS file system.
    # cd /mnt/repo; tar cf - . | (cd /export/repoSolaris11; tar xfp -)
    # cd /export/repoSolaris11
    # ls /export/repoSolaris11
       pkg5.repository README
       publisher sol-11-1111-repo-full.iso
    # df -k /export/repoSolaris11
    # umount /mnt
    # pkgrepo -s /export/repoSolaris11 refresh
    =============================================
    # zfs create -o mountpoint=/export/repoSolaris11 rpool/repoSolaris11
    ==============================================I am trying to reconfigure the package repository with above steps. when reached the below step
    # zfs create -o mountpoint=/export/repoSolaris11 rpool/repoSolaris11
    created the mount point but not mounted giving the error message
    cannot mount ,directory not empty When restarted the box, threw service adm screen with error message
    not able to mount all pointsPlease advise and Thanks in advance.

    Hi.
    Don't mix content of directory as mountpoint and what you see after FS was mounted.
    On othet ZFS - mount point also clear. You see contetn of ZFS file system.
    For check you can unmount any other ZFS and see that mountpoint also clear.
    Regards.

  • How to refresh training system/client

    Hi Experts,
    I have a ECC6.0 IDES which is used for training purposes.Now the database(/oracle file system) is approaching 100%.
    Can anyone let me know how can I refresh the system ( by scheduling any background job? not sure).
    Actually the client 001 is to be refreshed.Because training runs on 001 client.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Moulinath Ray

    if you use 001 as the trainig client, then you alter the data in this client, so you cannot use it as a master client.
    The 8xx clients are preconfigured IDES-clients and i wouldn't use them as training clients.
    You should configure a client (e.g. 001) according to your needs and then create a new client. You can logon to this new client with user/pw sap*/pass (if the profile parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar is set correctly, if not adjust and activate the profile and restart your system). Then you can do a client copy from 001 to the new client. When the training is done, just copy 001 again to the new client, so the trainers have a fresh training client.
    If you want to remove the client you can use tcode SCC5. I wouldn't delete the data on database level

  • View remote file system

    Hello to all.
    I have just implemented a simple client/server application which enables file transfers.
    I would like to know if there is a way of implementing a remote file viewer in which i will be able to send requests and download files. My primary concern is to be able to view the remote file system of a server on a client computer. Please note that its a two-way application i.e. part of the software is installed on the client, part of it is on the server.
    I have browsed through the forums and concluded that it is not possible to do this using a JFileChooser.
    Anyone has any ideas regarding this matter?
    Kind Regards
    Christophoros

    hi JaWarrior, thanks for your reply. I think i've read this solution somewhere else in the forums. The solution was like yours collecting the remote file system and sending it to the client. So if i got this straight i should have the server component sending lets say an array of strings with the files of the current working directory to the client?
    Also could you please provide an example on how do i go on and grab the contents of a directory?
    Many thanks to all

  • File system problems

    Hallo everybody
    My device works already with KitKat.
    Now I have problems with the file system.
    If I add a folder with the File Commander in e.g. Internal storage/Music, I can’t see the folder on the PC connected with USB. Neither “refreshing” nor disconnecting/connecting helps.
    A folder created with the PC can be seen with the File Commander.
    Can anybody help?

    Hi,
    Try to copy content to the folder you have created in the file manager and see if it appears when you connect the phone to the PC.
    Which operating system do you have on your PC?
