Reg:@dac parameters in dac

hi all,
our comapany is using hr analytics.In hr analytics,SDE_ORA_PersistedStage_WorkforceEvent_Performance_Mntn task is taking a long time to run.uaually it used to run for 1 min to load 222,344 rows but taking 3 hrs to do the same.
the dac command for this task is @DAC_SDE_ORA_PersistedStage_WorkforceEvent_Performance_Mntn_CMD.what does @dac mean.is this a command that dac server is looking for.is this might be the reason the work flow is running for more time.
please help in understanding @dac parameter and if it's a command then what is the location of this file.

The Informatica maps are not taking the parameters from dac

Hi All,
The Informatica maps are not taking the parameters from dac. We have tried setting the parameters at DAC level, task level. The parameter file is getting generated by DAC and has correct values as we expect. But when we run a full load from DAC, the initial date in Informatica is being taken as 1/1/1753. Do we need to specify the parameter file name at workflow level?
Is there any setting that we are missing. Please guide us and let us know the steps we should take to make sure that the parameters that we set at DAC level get passed to the Informatica maps. Also mention this is happening only with dates and other parameters like data source num , soruce and target database information is getting passed to Informatica maps.
The version of Informatica as 7.4.1 and dac version AN 328, Build date Aug 8 2007.
Please Help me in this issue.

Hi Ananth.v
Try to make sure that your parameter file's path in Infa is in-sync with the path of DAC files being generated.
The date you are getting seems strange - which are your Source/Target DB platforms?
In general take a look at [this thread| http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=3405906#3405906] , it may make some thing clearer for you.

Prune Days parameters in DAC

For BI Applications installations where eBusiness Suite is the source system. what should be value of prune days parameter in DAC for daily incremental run ? Out of the box , it is set to 30 days. If the incremental ETL is run daily, do we still need to set it to 30 days.

Hi,
Prune days decide the number of days of data which it process during the ETL. Ex. If the last ETL load date is 14-Jan-2013 then with Prune 30 it would process data like last updated >= 13-Dec-2012.
The functional reason why we use Prune days is for address back-dated transactions and remote users (like remote users in Siebel). In our existing implementation we are using Prune days set to 7. It can be 1 also. I suggest you to talk with your Functional users and understand the remote users concept and back-dated transactions.

   I am have a issue with adobe forms, the purchase order in me22n changing the values and saving the PO has to go as an PDF attachment to the Vendor mail . But it is not happening but the PO is Processed sucessfully. The vendor mail is checked and it is correct and the type of medium to the Output is External Send which is for the email. The form is copy of Standard Adobe form and the program is also std copy of SAPFM06P. In the driver program is any coding is required for the controlling parameters of form so that mail will happens.
    Plz help me out in this issue.

I think the standard program may not have functionality for sending mail .
Check for nast-nacha value, see the code below

Reg;Event Parameters

Hi all,
In Transaction SWO1 i have an event for which i could create parameters which refer to the data dictionary fields.Now i want to replace the individual parameters of the event with a structure (this structure has four fields).i am unable to do this.can anyone tell me what is the procedure to declare a structure under the events.
this structure should be available to create a binding between the event and the workflow.
any help would be appreciable with points.

DAC Source System Parameters

Hi,
Could anyone tell me please what parameter I have to set if I want to do an initial load stating with a given date (eg. 1/1/2009)?
I configured $$INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE, but I noticed a different date for fact tables.
Which is the meaning of the following parameters (in DAC doc are not so well explained):

Do not worry as these parameters are for a host of different source systems ..
Initial Extract date is the one used for setting up the extract date for the full load be it dimensions or fact !!

DAC Execution plan for financial analytics keeps running (OBIA 7.9.4)

Hi Gurus,
I have problem when tried to run full load on financial analytics execution plan. I used OBIA 7.9.4, Informatica 8.6.1 and DAC 10.1.3.4.1.patch.20100901.0520. This runs on Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 with 6 GB of memory. I set $$INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE='01/01/2011' so it should pull data greater than $$INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE, which I believed not more than 3 years data and should be not more than 2 days for loading this data. But execution plan keeps running and not yet completed even after more than 2 days. I have already checked for DAC execution plan log, But nothing I can found from the log.

After certain tasks I found Informatica workflow did not run. In my case after 190 of 403 tasks but sometime 183 of 403 tasks so it is intermittent.

DAC not populating FACT table for the GL module - W_GL_OTHER_F (zero rows)

All - We did our FULL loads from the Oracle Financials 11i into OBAW and got data in most of the dimension tables populated. HOWEVER, i am not seeing anything populating into the fact table W_GL_OTHER_F (zero rows). Following is a list of all dims / facts i am focusing towards for the GL module.

Also, another reason I had was that if you choose not to filter by set of books/type then you must still include the default values set of books id 1 and type NONE in the list on the DAC parameters (this is a consequence of strange logic in the decode statements for the sql in the extract etl).
I would recomend you run the extract fact sql prior to running your execution plan to sanity check how many rows you expect to get. For example, to see how many journal lines, use informatica designer to view mapplet SDE_ORA11510_Adaptor.mplt_BC_ORA_GLXactsJournalsExtract.2.SQ_GL_JE_LINES.3 in mapping SDE_ORA11510_Adaptor.SDE_ORA_GLJournals then cut paste the SQL to run your favourite tool such as sqldeveloper. You will have to fill in the $$ variables yourself.

USB audio DAC stops working after suspend

I didn't update my mediacenter running arch for a few months so I figured i'd reinstall it because of the filesystem, /lib and grub changes. Now after reinstalling I'm running into the issue that my USB audio DAC stops working after a suspend.
After a suspend speaker-test gives me the following error:

What I'm noticing is that after a suspend "Subdevices: 0/1" gets changed to "Subdevices: 1/1".

Yes I am suspecting the kernel as well. I'll try to change some options in XBMC to maybe get this working, and if not I'll see how far I can downgrade with the kernel. My last installation was a few months old so I hope it broke not that long ago.

Implementation of DAC with PLSQL ETL

Hi,
We were planning to implement the ETL using PLSQL and not Informatica but we were interested in using DAC for scheduling and managing the ETL(PLSQL) runs in the way it currently does for Informatica. Can you please let us know if this is feasible.
Primarily we want to use the DAC parameter management, Task management, Scheduling management and parallel execution of tasks.

So are you not using the BI Apps?? Is this for a custom DW? I cannot possibly imagine the advantage of rewriting OBIA ETL code in pl/sql..it seems to defeat the purpose of pre-packaged apps. To answer you questions, I do not believe you can just remove the ETL tool completely from the equation. The DAC is tightly integrated with Informatica and tasks translate to PMCMD commands. As you mentioned, you can add task actions to run stored procedures as pre/post tasks actions or table actions but seems you just want to remove the ETL tool completely from the picture. The DAC used Informatica Folder (logical to physical mappings), Task phases, folder priorities, and source/target dependencies to calculate the execution order for each execution plan. If you use only pl/sql and removing Informatica, how would the DAC know how to order the tasks for parallell execution? Will you manually define the source, targets, lookups, phases?? This does not seem feasible. Bottom line, you can use pl/sql and the DAC parameters but I do not believe you can replace the entire ETL process with just pl/sql and DAC.
