Implementation of DAC with PLSQL ETL

Hi,
We were planning to implement the ETL using PLSQL and not Informatica but we were interested in using DAC for scheduling and managing the ETL(PLSQL) runs in the way it currently does for Informatica. Can you please let us know if this is feasible.
Primarily we want to use the DAC parameter management, Task management, Scheduling management and parallel execution of tasks.

So are you not using the BI Apps?? Is this for a custom DW? I cannot possibly imagine the advantage of rewriting OBIA ETL code in pl/sql..it seems to defeat the purpose of pre-packaged apps. To answer you questions, I do not believe you can just remove the ETL tool completely from the equation. The DAC is tightly integrated with Informatica and tasks translate to PMCMD commands. As you mentioned, you can add task actions to run stored procedures as pre/post tasks actions or table actions but seems you just want to remove the ETL tool completely from the picture. The DAC used Informatica Folder (logical to physical mappings), Task phases, folder priorities, and source/target dependencies to calculate the execution order for each execution plan. If you use only pl/sql and removing Informatica, how would the DAC know how to order the tasks for parallell execution? Will you manually define the source, targets, lookups, phases?? This does not seem feasible. Bottom line, you can use pl/sql and the DAC parameters but I do not believe you can replace the entire ETL process with just pl/sql and DAC.

Error while integarting the DAC with the Informatica Integration services

I am setting up the BI APPS. I am following the documentation provided by oracle. Everything went on smoothly but when when I am trying to integrate the DAC with the Integration service created in informatica it is giving me the following error:

Here is what you need to do... there are some gaps in the documentation for 7.9.6 with infa 8.6:
1) In infa 8.6 there is no repository and informatica server, instead you have repository service and integration service
2) make sure you note down the name of the repository service and integration service when you do the post install of the informatica install
3) when you try to register Infa repository in DAC, make sure you use the (hostname/services) as the name of the infa integration service,
and in repostory name use the name of the repository service and not Oracle_BI_DW_base....
if you still have errors upload or email ([email protected]) the DAC config screens

Need to implement auto suggest with multiple select in a input text field

My requirement is to create an input field where i can provide auto suggest and user can enter multiple email ids. It is similar to current "To" field while composing a mail in Gmail.
Problem:
I have implemented input box with auto suggest. For the first entry it works fine. when i enter 2nd value(i have used ',' (comma) as separator and handled it in 'suggestItems' bean method to take sub-string after comma for providing the suggestion) , after selection.... the first value get lost. So at a time only one value is selected in the input text.

Hi,
doesn't work this way as the suggest list returns a single value. You can actually use the existing values as a prefix to the new value in which case the suggest list would look a bit odd. Beside of this all you can do is to create a user lookup field with auto suggest and once a name is selected, update another field with the value returned from this action

How to implement fact tables with finest level of detail (fine-grained)?

Maybe this is basic knowledge what I'm asking here... I don't know, well, here it goes:
I need to know the way carry my transactional data to a fact table, but keeping the finest level of detail possible (namely, the transactions). I implemented my cubes with MOLAP option for storage (those were the specs that I had to follow) so I can't add a unique constraint to those structures.
I only seem to be able to load aggregated, precomputed data. If I wanted to load the transactions (after the data has been transformed and clenased) where should I do it?
I tried to implement a version of the fact tables as ROLAP but got nowhere (I couldn't add a unique constraint or index on that column either).
I would really, really appreciate your help.

Let me explain the problem in more detail. I have one Date dimension(Date_Code,Month_Code,Quarter_Code,Half_Year_Code,Year_Code). Here Date_Code is the PK.
In F1---->Date (Using Month_Code key)
F2-------->Date (Using Date_Code Key)
Level based hierarchy is there starting from Year to Date.Each level has PK defined and chronological key selected.
F1 has level set to Month and F2 has level set to Day.
Now if i am using ago() function on measure of F2 (having day level data) then it's working fine but if i am using ago() function on measure of F1...I am getting an error at Presentation service: Date_code must be projected for time-series functions.
So the whole issue is with time-series functions. As per my research...I think for time series the tables in the physical model containing the time dimension cannot join to other data sources, except at the most detailed level but here i am joining with F1(using Month_Code which is not the most detailed level).
So kindly let me know how to achieve this in rpd?

Publish subscribe model with plsql

I did not find any sample that shows how to use the publish subscribe model with plsql.
Enqueueing is possible and know how to do it, but how can I subscribe to a topic with plsql.
All samples I found are for Java JMS.

As justin suggested link is very useful to know how to send an email through pl/sql.
Hope it is also very useful .. Please go through the following steps.
1. First you have to login as sys dba ... as user name : sys pwd : ****** ;
2. execute the following sql scripts. like sql> @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlmail.sql ;
3. execute the following sql script like sql > @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/prvtmail.plb ;
4. Set smtp_server information in init.ora or spfile.ora for this you have to execute the following commond..
sql > alter system set smtp_out_server = ‘SMTP_SERVER_IP_ADDRESS:SMTP_PORT’ scope=both;
'SMTP_SERVIER_IP_ADDRESS : SMTP_PORT ' You have to find out with your org/office
ex : alter system set smtp_out_server = ’172.25.90.165:25′ scope=both;
Then send a mail like this...
1. sqlplus ‘/ as sysdba’
2. exec utl_mail.send((sender => ‘ [email protected]’, --- your office/org email address
recipients => ‘[email protected]’, --- your friend/coluege email address
subject => ‘Testing UTL_MAIL Option’,
message => ‘Hi .. this is testing mail’);
3. Check the inbox of the email id, to verify the email receipt.
4 Don't give any gmail/yahoo email address....It won't work.
Hope you got an Idea on utl_mail ... package.

Using an external DAC with Apple TV

How is the sound quality using the Apple TV connected to a home audio system? Is anyone using an external DAC with the Apple TV to up-sample the audio?

The onboard AppleTV DAC will only be used to output analogue audio via the stereo jacks - HDMI or optical out will use the DACs in the TV/processor/receiver anuyway.
Stereo audio files are converted to a PCM bitstream (which will not use a DAC) for output via optical.
Personally I think even lossy MP3/AAC sounds great via optical from AppleTV. My Yamaha DSP won't upsample the PCM bitstream, but frankly upsampling audio isn't going to bring huge sonic benefits as it's only interpolating what isn't there isn't the first place. Granted opinions differ on whether upsampling makes things sound better or not, but you can't reproduce perfectly information you don't have , the interpolation will only be guesswork.

Implement Dispute Mgmt with 4.7 Version

We are currently using 4.7 version. And we have installed FSCM component with 4.7. We bought it with SAP along with 4.7. We are currently researching on implementing Dispute Management Process. Hence my question is did anyone implement this functionality with 4.6 & 4.7 versions. If so, then what are the technical difficulties and challenges encountered? I see most of the posts related to ECC 5.0 & 6.0.
Any suggestions or guidance would be appreciated greatly.

Thanks Cristobal.. Can you pls elaborate 'face the multi system scenario (Two boxes)'?. I read somewhere in the SAP help doc, that Dispute Mgmt uses 'ALE'. I am not sure about the technicalities behind it. Does this scenario create any performance issues? Does it impact any other functions like SD etc.,?

I want to open a web page with plsql. I have tried this with utl_http.request but I have some errors like time out or site is not reacheable.
In fact, I search to personalize a form (11.5.10) with a new menu which call a plsql procedure. And this last must open a web page.

The PL/SQL code should run from the server and not from the forms. Anonymous PL/SQL code written within forms application does not run from the server. The solution is to create a Server side stored procedure and call it from forms.

Implementing a Webservice with AXIS, which calls CORBA objects

Hi @all!
First my aim is it to invoke a Webservice by a Client. As toolkit for developing this Webservice I use AXIS 1.0. This Webservice in turn should establish a CORBA connection to a third application.
A direct access to the CORBA objects without the AXIS Webservice works fine. The Webservice without the Corba access is also running errorfree.
When trying to implement a Webservice with AXIS, which calls CORBA objects following fault was generated:
"internal Server Error(500)".
Are there known problems with AXIS in conjunction with CORBA?

Implement cache coherence with webservice

Need to implement cache coherence with webservice. The scenario is like
1) Want tol invoke a webservice with the key like "catalog" which will fetch the value like "catalog is retrieved" for the corresponding key from the cache
2) The Cache will be inserted with the new value like "new catalog" once the old value is evicted after the value is expired.
3) Client invokes the web service it should fetch the new value for the key instead of returning null value or old value.
4) No DB interaction is required i.e
5) Expirey and refresh ahead is required.
Please can you please help me in implementing this functionality. If you have any existing code sample could you please provide the same. Its very urgent
