Reg: DS enhancement code in production

Hi to all,
We are now in the production support. I want to change the DS enhanced code which is written in the implementation bcoz of performance reason. What is the procedure to do that and is there any prerequisites to take. No need to code help here.

Hi Babu,
You just need to change the code in EXIT from development system and then do a transport. The code changes will be directly reflected in production after transport.
You don't need to worry about any delta or anything else as there are no structural changes and new code will start executing from next extraction onward.
Just transport the EXIT FM, no need to transport DS or anything else. If you are doing further structural enhancement then you will have to transport other objects accordingly. But if you are only doing code changes then just transport EXIT.

SET COMPANY CODE TO PRODUCTIVE

Hi:
I'm setting the company code to productive, is it possible to include this configuration in a transport request. I am not able to do so as it doesn't ask for a transport request. The menu to manually assign them to a transport request is also grayed out.

I do have authorization to configure in the development system but for this specific configuration, it didn't ask for the transport request.
I have done this configuration directly in Production system before since it should not be set to productive in the development system.
But I was just wondering if there's anyway to transport this across the system landscape.

How to make "Read Report" pick up enhancement code as well

I want to enhance a SAP ECC6 program - H99CWTR0 (Wage type reporter). I need to add some more master data objects from other HR tables.
I have succesfully applied implicit enhancements to this program to allow my users to select extra data objects and to retrieve the relevant data from the database. However, the program reads a subroutine pool called H99CWTR0_ALV_TEMPLATE and makes dynamic run time changes and generates a temporary subroutine pool. I have also had to apply implicit enhancements to the template but this is not read by H99CWTR0. So I am unable to to keep the shared data segment in line with the driver program H99CWTR0 which leads to an ABAP dump.
I would prefer to make all changes to SAP programs using the enhancement framework rather than having to clone SAP programs into the "Z" namespace.
Is there a way of making the "Read report" pick up the implicit enhancement code as well as all the other includes in the template?

My enhancement to H99CWTR0 is being accessed, but the equivalent enhancement to H99CWTR0_ALV_TEMPLATE is not. Hence the discrepancy in the length of common shared data segment.
The ABAP line "read report iv_template into lt_code." in include H99CWTR0_FORMS is not reading the implicit ehancement code I added. So when the ABAP line "generate subroutine pool lt_code name ov_driver message mm line ll" is called to generate the temporary subroutine code my code is lost.

For message type LOIPRO you can use process code APLI.
In IDOC PARTNER definition, the partner is linked with an IDOC TYPE and PROCESS CODE for inbound processing. This process code is in turn linked with a FUNCTION MODULE to process the IDoc such as IDOC_INPUT_INVOIC_MRM (Reff.. http://searchsap.techtarget.com/expert/KnowledgebaseAnswer/0,289625,sid21_cid519558,00.html)

Company Code not productive

While going through the system settings, I found that certain company codes are not having the status 'Company code not productive'. These company codes are in operation. I know that a company code in operation should be made productive so that programs will not get deleted by any change.
Can set the indicator 'company code productive' for all those company codes and move the changes to Production client ?

There is nothing wrong if you set Company code productive latter after you went live. Information system auditor can may object if you do not set it productive because with this indicator unticked you can delete and reset GL Master data. You should ideally tick it and set it as productive.

Risks when locking Prod in SCC4, but not setting Company Code to productive

Hi,
I am trying to figure out the risks related to not setting Company Codes to productive... even though the Production system is locked in SCC4. Will the lock in SCC4 mitigate the risk of not setting Company Codes to productive?
To my understanding, setting Company Codes to non-productive in the Production system would result in a risk for deleting financial data. I therefore wonder if defining the lock in SCC4 would compensate for this risk.

I asked myself the same question.
The F1-help in SCC4 says the following:
"This field should be maintained by the customer for documentary purposes."
But also:
"- Production clients and SAP reference clients are protected from the client copy tools, including "Copy by Transport Request" (transaction SCC1).
- There is corresponding protection from the automatic Customizing Distribution and other tools.
- In a production client, customizing settings that can be maintained as "current settings" are excluded from a client lock or transport connection; this means current settings (e.g. exchange rates, posting periods) can always be maintained in a productive client without recording changes. Other clients usually require a transport request."
So, i think that the client role option is more a documentation thing. But also disables some client copy and automatic transport functionality. In my opinion it should be "production" on a production system because if not there are several functions activated that shouldn´t be for security reasons.
That´s what i think. Maybe someone can correct me or give more information to this thread.

Actually my task is,
I created a Master data Attribute Generic data source using Table(LFA1), after that i enhanced the datasource by append structure where i added a filed ZMATNR (filed from MARA table). So, now i have to write a code to populate data into ZMATNR in extract structure and i want to see the data of that field in RSA3. So, please help in this regard......
Technical Information:-
Datasource Name : ZGDSM
Extract Structure Name : ZOXID30102
Append Structure Name : ZENHANCE
Field Name in Append Structure: Component - ZMATNR, Component Type - MATNR
Field Name in Extract Structure : ZMATNR
Please help me in writing this enhancement code......

Normally you can find your serial registered to your AdobeId. To find it please login to the Adobe website and check if you did register it to your account.
Serial number, Redemption, and Product codes | Student & Teacher Editions
In general you will go true a educational verification afterwards you get the serial. So its in your email or account. If you still have issues get in contact with the chat team to get help.

Follow the steps, to Enhance in development system ,
In SAP R3,
Enhance the extract structure with the required field and active the datasource,
Enhance the include program with the code by selecting the appropriate Function exit , (CMOD)
IN SAP BW
Replicate the datasource and do the appropriate mapping
Enhance the datatarget with the respective infoobject.
In Production:
When the changes are moved to the production, your next delta run wll automatically fetches the data for the new field from the date of go live.
In case if you need the historical information for the new field , then you do re init,

Could u please send me the approach of the following issue.Recently i did a r&d reg transaction data field addition to the existing data source.Finally i come to know that i did a mistake.I did it as follows its an addition to sd billing data source(2LIS_13_VDITM).
My addition is its a value which gives Vertical %.
I did it as follows
1) I check DS at RSA6>2)Then i select it and enhance it>3)Then I go to CMOD.->4)i give the projname>5)i go to the user exit for t-data.then i enter in to the ABAP editor screen then i give some code--->6)Then i replicate it to BW.
But unfortunately i did not get the data .
Could U please give me the exact process of enhance ment for an existing DS.If any doc can u just mail to the following e-mail: [email protected]
