Hi Xperts,
Can you tell me /give me a sample code so as to
Compare the data present in the database table and internal table.i.e
Wheher the data in the db table matches with the data in the internal table

First make sure that data is there in the internal table
TABLES : Declare your table example MARA, VBAK etc
TYPES: BEGIN OF ITAB1,
Declare your fields here

    In an ABAP Objects context, a more severe syntax check is performed that in other ABAP areas. See New naming conventions and LIKE references to Dictionary Types not allowed.
    Effect
    Defines an internal table.
    To fill and process internal tables, use the statements INSERT, APPEND, READ TABLE, LOOP, SORT, and so on.
    The OCCURS or INITIAL SIZE parameter (OCCURS value) determines the number of lines that are created when the table itself is created. However, the table is extended dynamically on demand. For details, refer to Performance Notes for Internal Tables. The OCCURS value, has no other semantic meaning (apart from one exception in the APPEND SORTED BY statement). If you do not specify an INIT IAL SIZE , the system uses the default value 0.
    If you specify WITH HEADER LINE, the table is created with a header line, that is, a field with the same name. It has the same type as the line type of the table.
    This addition is not allowed in an ABAP Objects context. See Tables with header line not allowed.
    Variant 1
    DATA itab TYPE itabtype [WITH HEADER LINE].
    Effect
    itabtype must be an internal table type that you have already defined using TYPES. The statement creates an internal table in the program with this type.
    In general, the type specification for the table object must be complete. The exception to this is a standard table, in which the key definition may be missing. In this case, the system automatically uses a default key.
    Example
    Creating a hashed table by referring to an existing table type:
    TYPES: BEGIN OF STRUC, NAME(10), AGE TYPE I, END OF STRUC,
           HTAB TYPE HASHED TABLE OF STRUC WITH UNIQUE KEY NAME.

    Creates an internal table in the program with the type tabkind. Since there are no generic field definitions, you cannot use the table types ANY TABLE or INDEX TABLE.
    The structure of the table lines is defined by the type linetype if you use a TYPE reference) or by the type of the referred object lineobj (when you use a LIKE reference).
    The same rules apply to the UNIQUE and NON-UNIQUE additions in the DATA statement as in a TYPES definition. You may only omit the definition when defining a standard table.
    If you do not specify the INITIAL SIZE the system uses a default initial size of 0.
    Variant 3
    DATA itab {TYPE TABLE OF linetype|LIKE TABLE OF lineobj}.
    Effect
    This is a shortened form of the definition of a standard table. It corresponds to

    *     using "PERFORM"  i have to add mark 1 & mark 2*
    *     and i need to display the total in  3rd internal table.*
    *     how to do by using "PERFORM" .*

    witab3-total = witab1-mark1 plus witab2-mark2.
    append witab3 to itab3.

    It will return itab3 which is sum of itab1 and itab2.

  • Reg. internal table logic

    Hi,
    I have an internal table with 5 fields (Vbeln, A, B, C, D ) and records like this:
    Record1:
    Field vbeln (value is  6000000001), Field A (value is 2006), Field B (value is 1130), Field C (value is initial), Field D (value is initial)
    Record1:
    Field vbeln (value is  6000000001), Field A (value is initial), Field B (value is initial), Field C (value is 2005), Field D (value is 1134)
    Now whenever, Field A and Field B has values, field C and field D are initial and vice versa.
    I Want to get all of the field values in just one record like below when the key vbeln is same.:
    Field vbeln (value is  6000000001), Field A (value is 2006), Field B (value is 1130), Field C (value is 2005), Field D (value is 1134)
    I know I can create another internal table, copy the contents, use the looping logic and achieve the same but wondering if there is any better way of doing the same?

    I am trying to use a database and select all records from it and store them into an internal table.
    My code:

    The error:
    "The type of the database table and work area (or internal table) "GT_CURRENCY" are not Unicode-convertible . . . . . . . . . .     "

    But as you suggested is we use INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE then it resolve the error.
    But I have below piece of code:

    Then I am getting below error:E:The type of the database table and work area (or internal table) "IT_NEW_SOURCE" are not Unicode convertible.
    Can you please advice on this, as performance need to improve in start routine code.

  • Download the KTOPL  field data and GLT0 table data into one Internal table

    I have downloaded GLT0 table fields  data to PC file . But i need to download KTOPL(Chart Of Accounts) data also. in GLT0 table there is no KTOPL field.
    But in SKA1 table have KTOPL field. Then what is the issue is GLT0 data & KTOPL field data needs to download into one Internal Table.
    anybody could you please solve this problem. immediately need to solve this.

  • Regarding Internal table and access performance

    hey guys.
    In my report , Somehow i reduced the query performance time by selecting minimum key fields and moved the selected records to internal table.
    Now from this internal table i am restricting the loop
    as per my requirements using where statements.(believing that internal table retrieval is more faster than database acces(using query)).
    But still my performance goes down.
    Could you pls suggest me how to reduce the execution time
    in abap programming.
    I used below commands.
    Read using binary search.
    loop ...where statement.
    perform statements.
    collect staements.
    delete itab.(delete duplicates staements too)
    sort itab(sorting).
    For each above statements do we have any faster way to retrieval records.
    If i see my bottle neck at se30.it shows
    ABAP programming to 70 percent
    database access to 20 percent
    R3 system as 10percent.
    now how to reduce this abap process.

    Hello Ambichan,
    It is difficult to suggest the improvements without looking at the actual code that you are running. However, I can give you some general information.
    1. READ using the BINARY SEARCH addition.
    This is indeed a good way of doing a READ. But have you made sure that the internal table is <i>sorted by the required fields</i> before you use this statement ?
    2. LOOP...WHERE statement.
    This is also a good way to avoid looping through unnecessary entries. But further improvement can certainly be achieved if you use FIELD-SYMBOLS.
    LOOP AT ITAB INTO <FIELD_SYMBOL_OF_THE_SAME_LINE-TYPE_AS_ITAB>.
    ENDLOOP.
    3. PERFORM statements.
    A perform statement can not be optimized. what matters is the code that you write inside the FORM (or a subroutine).
    4. COLLECT statements.
    I trust you have used the COLLECT statement to simplify the logic. Let that be as it is. The code is more readable and elegant.
    The COLLECT statement is somewhat performance intensive. It takes more time with a normal internal table (STANDARD). See if you can use an internal table of type  SORTED. Even better, you can use a HASHED internal table.
    5. DELETE itab.(delete duplicates staements too)
    If you are making sure that you are deleting several entries based on a condition, then this should be okay. You cannot avoid using the DELETE statement if your functionality requires you to do so.
    Also, before deleting the DUPLICATES, ensure that the internal table is sorted.
    6. SORT statement.
    It depends on how many entries there are in the internal table. If you are using most of the above points on the same internal table, then it is better that you define your internal table to be of type SORTED. That way, inserting entries will take a little more time (to ensure that the table is always sorted), but alll the other operations are going to be much faster.

              I know how to update database table from internal table in one shot (batch) but is the reverse possible? Can I update some fields in an internal table from a database table in one shot (without looping) because my internal table is huge?     You can do it MAYBE , i think you can reverse the update doing a ROLLBACK, but only after you update....not after the program finishes..
    To update some fields at once use:
    UPDATE DBTABLE FROM TABLE IT_TABLE

  • Dynamic creation of variables and alv grid output/internal table

    Dear Experts
    I am stuck in an inventory ageing report which is to be done year wise. the scenario is as follow.
    selection screen i enter the year 2011 or 2010 or 2009.
    the output should show me 2011-2007 or 2010-2007 or 2009-2007. the alv grid should always start from 2007 and end at the year that is entered in the selection screen.
    Now how can i create a dynamic variables to store the values of the corresponding yr and also how can i create a dynamic internal table to store these values.

    Hi Zamir,
    if you are new to ABAP you may leave old and buggy techniques behind.
    If you want to create the table dynamically, please do not use l_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table because it is limited and always triggers a possibly unwanted database commit.
    You better use RTTS dynamic runtime type services, i.e. check the example for [Creating Flat and Complex Internal Tables Dynamically using RTTI|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/CreatingFlatandComplexInternalTablesDynamicallyusingRTTI].
    As done here, leave all outdated ALV technologies behind and start with CL_SALV_TABLE. It is following the object-oriented approach and does not need a field catalog.
    You will get used to field-symbols that can be compared to the data referenced by a pointer. For dynamic fields, you may build the field names dynamically, i.e.

  • Insert or Modify statement from internal table to database table

    Hi All,
    I have three tables wakh, wrf and wakp. I have an internal table with 5 columns col1, col2, col3, col4 and col5.
    The value in Col1 is my article no and the articleno. is in the table wakh. The value in col2 is my ccode and it is in the table wrf. The rest three columns col3, col4 and col5 are unit, qty and price and they are in the wakp table. Now when my articleno is equal to ccode I need to update the col3, col4 and col5 values  in the wakp. wakp has around 20 columns.
    Can anyone of you guys please give me the code for this issue. Your help is highly appreciated and thanks for all for your time.

    let me explain you the whole process what i am trying to do. I have a screen where there are 3 fields. In my first field I have a promoiton no. As soon as the user enters the promotion no. its description will be populated in my second field. If the promotion is not maintained then it will throw an error. In my third field User will upload an excel sheet which has 5 columns articleno, colorcode, salesunit, qty, mdprice. Here articleno is coming from wakh and colorcode is in wrf_charval table and the rest three fields are coming from wakp table. So for the article no. which is in col1. and for its corresponding colorcode which is in col3 i need to update col3, col4, col5 values.
    With my below code I am able to upload the excel into internal table and display it. So instead of displaying I need to update in the database. Can you please let me know how I need to attach the function module within my code and update accordingly.

  • GET statement and internal table

    Hi community,
    I use the GET statement and I want to use some older code segments.
    I read somewhere that I can use the result of GET like an internal table.
    So I tried to get the content of bsid into my internal table it_bsid. But that doesn't seem to work.
    Do you have any advice in this?
    I wanted to do the following:
    TABLES:
            KNA1,
            BSID,
            BKPF.
    DATA:
          it_bsid TYPE TABLE OF bsid WITH HEADER LINE,
          is_bsid LIKE LINE OF it_bsid,
    GET bsid.
    LOOP AT bsid.
      APPEND it_bsid.
    ENDLOOP.
    -or-
    GET bsid.
    LOOP AT bsid INTO is_bsid.
      APPEND is_bsid TO it_bsid.
    ENDLOOP.
    But in both cases I get an error.
    ' "VERSION ... ." expected after "BSID" '
    Do you know what is the reason for that?

    Hi Tobias,
    first you have to assign a logical database which has BSID to your program (in program attributes).
    Then GET is the event triggered by the next BSID record according to your selection. You can not LOOP here but you may append to an internal table. This table may be processed using LOOP in the END-OF-SELECTION event.
    Read some documentation about LDB [Logical Databases|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_01/helpdata/en/f0/ca4584260211d28a430000e829fbbd/content.htm] - it may help to understand the concept of this obsolete technique.

The problem is that i have to transfer internal tables with generic types. i used the import/ export from database approache but in that way i get an error message saying "Object references and data references not yet supported".
