Reg.  JFormattedTectField & Date

Hello Friends,
I have a JFTF of Date set to simpleDateFormat(yyyy-mm-dd) format. when the user enters date in some other format - dd-mm-yyyy format, how can i trap that & force the user to enter date in specified format only.
Currently, as said the date format is set to a text field. Suppose the user enteres 11-11-1974,On retriving the text, I get 0017-03-27. While validating date, as it is a valid date, so no errors, but it is wrong. Such date cannot be saved in a database. If again i have to chk the year, day, & month then what the use of this format. So, I want to know, how and when an I trap this invalid/improper format input & inform user to enter data in specified format only. Do i have to handle any event or what?
I am really very curious, wondering about this, and at this point this is the biggest bug in my application. I tried my best to solve this bug, but couldn't find any solution. Does anyone over here have any idea. I would be very thankful for any help.
Thanks
Trupti

No dear, it doesn't help change any thing. As i had said, on lostfocus, it does some calculations and changes the format & value. Eg. if i enter 11-11-1974, it shows 0017-03-27. So that line makes no changes.
My Code is :-
// Set the DateFormatter with SimpleDateFormat
        SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");
        //sdf.setLenient(true);
        dobFormat = new DateFormatter(sdf);
        dob_tf = new javax.swing.JFormattedTextField();
// Set Format to the Text Field
dob_tf.setFormatterFactory(new DefaultFormatterFactory(dobFormat));Do u think, I am going wrong somewhere in the code.

  • Urgent!!!!!!!!!!!Reg retrieving data from a view in the data base

    Hi All,
My problem is that i need to retrieve some data from V_TTDS which is a VIEW in the ABAP-Dictionary.How can i accomplish this task.

    Hi,
    this is a maintenance view
so you cannot write the select query
but you can write the select query on TTDS
    TTDST tables
as these are the two tables involved in this
this is the condition maintained to get this view
    TTDS     MANDT     =     TTDST     MANDT
    TTDS     TPLST     =     TTDST     TPLST
    select a~field
              b~field1
from ttds as a inner join
ttdst as b on atplst  =  btplst
    into table itab
    where conditions
    then it will work

  • Reg-Creating Data source in BI

    Hi All,
I need to crate a data source in BI By using the following tables TBTCP, TBTCO, TRDIRT, TSTC..First two tables having common relationship, where as there is no relationship between TRDIRT and TSTC tables....For this i am planning to do by creating a Functional Module.
Using Functional Module any draw back's are there?
Let me suggest is there any alternative like BADI, BAPI........
    With Regards
    Aswin

Since there is no common field in the rest of the two tables, you wont be able to make view on them. FM is the option. There is no drawback, the only thing is that you need to write the code.
    Thanks...

  • Reg : export data from ALV to excel file

    Hi All,
I am using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY to display the output. I have total 73 columns getting displayed in output but when i export the data to the excel file using (ctrlshiftF9) I am getting only first 43 columns in the first row and from 44th column on wards the data is populated in the 1st  column of second row.
Please let me know is there any particular setting by which I can get all the 73 columns in a single row.
    Thanks in advance.
    VIJAY

    Hi vijay,
You can try setting your line width to 255 in your abap program.
Otherwise,  you can try an alternative:
    1. Put a customize button on the ALV toolbar.
    2. Go to se41 to create th buttons
    2. do i_callback_program in ALV function. or SET PF_STATUS
    3. Then in sy-ucomm, use 'GUI_DOWNLOAD' to xls.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Reg: Convert Data in LSMW

    Hi,
Upload Purchase Order data using multiple flat file through LSMW
in LSMW it's working fine upto Display Read Data.
After that enter into the convert Data it will ask the Transaction Number.
    I didn't understand what's related Transaction Number.
I tried to enter the some values it will show the error like "Use Date format in the user master". After that i tried to enter the date formate but it's not working and shows blank .
Please anybody help me regarding this transaction number
    Thanks & Regards.
Edited by: Praveen SatyaSai on Dec 28, 2011 3:28 PM

If you leave it empty, all your records will be converted. If you enter 1, the first set of records (or transaction) will be converted.
basically, you can use it to only convert a specific set of data (or transaction).

    I have created a database view with three tables  T001K , TKA02, T001W.
The view is consistent. But it doesnt return any data. I have checked it that common records exist between these three tables. What else could be the problem ?
    Kindly help.

    Hello Ravi ,
The issue got solved. One of the conditions in the view was to check for null values. Null values seem to be represented in diff ways in diff database versions.
    Thankyou.

    Hi Anna,
It all depends on how your Group GL account is linked to Operational GL account in BW. In the BW, you can make Group GL account  Info object as an attribute of Operational GL account Info object (0GL_Account). Then in the Load data stream method configuration, you can map 0CS_Item to Group GL account as an attribute of 0GL_account, on 1 to 1 basis. You have to be sure that in the Source Data Basis, you have Operational GL account data available with the attribute of Group GL account.
    2. Non-implementation of new GL does not make a difference.

  • Reg: End Date equivalent in OIM 11g

    Hi All,
In OIM 11g, what is the equivalent of end-date in GTC Flat file reconciliation? What is the format it will accept?
    Can someone suggest
    Regards,
    Karan

The OIM, though reads the date value in YYYY/mm/DD hh:mm:ss - It returns only date without timestamp.
So, Get the string value, Append the value with 00:00:00
Store the appended value in a temp variable.
Then, use your code to change the string to date vaue.
    Cheers,

  • Reg:Document Date Blank in FB03(Print Preview)

    Hi All,
When i display the G/L Account Document in FB03 Transaction, and give the Print Preview i don't want to display the document date, it should be blank is there any way to achieve this scenario?

Figured it out.  It had nothing to do with the software levels of Safari or Adobe Acrobat.  Here's the fix:
    Open Finder/Applications
    Search "Internet Plug-Ins"
Move any Adobe plug-ins to the trash
    Quit Safari
    Launch Safari
Your pdf document should now render in Print Preview and print properly.

Do you know that thus you are effectively wasting yours as well as others time?
Can't you use the above codings and FM's given by all to achieve your requirement.
First of all you come to a conclusion on what you want, then you can arrive at the solution using all the above inputs and ideas.

  • Reg Keyfigures data type in Transfer structure

    Hi Guys,
When we create a transfer structure for a falt file source system, keyfigures data type is getting converted into CHAR automatically and even the length is assigned . Whats the reason behind this?? How do we get the lenght of a keyfigure?

    Hi Reddy,
CSV stands for "Comma Separated Value". This file format is often used to exchange data between disparate applications. The file format, as it is used in Microsoft Excel, has become a pseudo standard throughout the industry, even among non-Microsoft platforms whereas
<u>ASCII codes</u> represent text in computers, communications equipment, and other devices that work with text.
    <u>The CSV File Format</u>
Each record is one line   ...but
A record separator may consist of a line feed (ASCII/LF=0x0A), or a carriage return and line feed pair (ASCII/CRLF=0x0D 0x0A).
...but: fields may contain embedded line-breaks (see below) so a record may span more than one line.
    Fields are separated with commas.
    Example John,Doe,120 any st.,"Anytown, WW",08123
Leading and trailing space-characters adjacent to comma field separators are ignored.
So   John  ,   Doe  ,... resolves to "John" and "Doe", etc. Space characters can be spaces, or tabs.
Fields with embedded commas must be delimited with double-quote characters.
In the above example. "Anytown, WW" had to be delimited in double quotes because it had an embedded comma.
    Hope it helps...let me know
