HI Experts,
Am not sure if someone has ever come through this requirement.
1) Am calling a RFC FM starting new task for opening a custom Transaction(cannot call a screen starting at..ending at..due to the tcode being customized for only reference and is locked for editing) in another window.
2) Right after the FM am calling VAO1 tcode using call transaction.
Now the VA01 appears for a second and the new task RFC overlaps it. My end user doesnt want to click alt tab and wants the
VA01 at the top and the new task window behind. I know if i reverse the order of the FM's , untill the call transaction comes back the new window doesnt come up..this is of no use since for creating VA01, the new window is for reference.
Automatically when VA01 closes, the other window closes..i have taken care of this..but
can i switch sessions ( instead of the user doin alt + tab)..
Please throw some light on it or is that the limitation SAP has?

One question. even if OP created standby database later it wont support Switchover too. Still its manual apply and used for only failover.

I'm a beginner in using the Oracle Report Designer, and I need
to "switch" to another session and then "re-switch" to the
original session before the report starts.
I tried connecting with the new user in the BEFOREREPORT trigger
using the SRW.DO_SQL command:

but in return I had a
"Error parsing the SQL statement. ORA-00900: invalid SQL
statement" error.
Where I was mistaking, and how can I succeed?

* is it possible to run a sun-ray-server on a sun-cluster-server to provide real HA (not just a failover-group)?
* using smartcard-based hot-desking (mobile sessions). is it possible to switch the session from one smartcard to another (in case a smartcard is lost)?
* is it possible to (at least) view a session of another user like provided by vnc (1 session on the server and more then one client)?

* is it possible to run a sun-ray-server on a sun-cluster-server to provide real HA (not just a failover-group)?What do you mean by HA? If you're asking whether a user's login session can survive the death of the node it's executing on then the answer is no. If the node dies, the session dies too.

/opt/SUNWut/sbin/utuser -a -i ... should let you do that.
* is it possible to (at least) view a session of another user like provided by vnc (1 session on the server and more then one client)?Sun Ray does not provide a built-in way of doing that. You might be able to do it by using x11vnc or Vino, just as for any other X session.

Switching sessions using jsessionid

Is it possible to switch between two sessions (HttpSession's) by changing the jsessionid in the request. For instance, lets say two users have logged into our site each having their own session. User A has jsessionid = AAAAAAAAAA and User B has jsessionid = BBBBBBBBBB.
If user A makes a request to http://localhost/index.jsp;jsessionid=BBBBBBBBBB would User A now have User B's session? I thought this would work, but have been unsuccessful (WebSphere 5.0).
We have a business partner who wants their users to have access to our secure site from their secure site. Users id/passwords will be synchronized between the two sites. The users will log into our business partners site and if they click a link to our site we want to authenticate them automatically. One idea was to have the business partners server send a POST to j_security_check with the userid/password. We will create a session and respond with a specific URL with jsessionid appended. The business partner could then redirect the users browser to that URL and effectively bypass the login.
Can anybody tell me if this will work or if there is a better way? Thanks.

I managed to switch the sessions properly!
In order to do so, you have to create in your META-INF a context.xml with

</Context>tomcat stops using session cookies and relies complete on a ID in the url.
if no one is given, it creates a new session.
I did not get managed to have proper url rewriting, maybe someone can help me.
I just don't know where to insert the code to have my urls rewritten automatically.

I'd like to intervene before a new session ist created, retrieve cookie and redirect to a rewritten url but no clue!

Reg: Switch Over

Edition: SE1
Data Gaurd is not supported in SE1 so it is not possible to switchover.
Can i change the IP of the Standby to Primary and make the stand by database as Primary database.

I think there is a confusion in terminology:
1) Failover - This is activating the standby database to become a primary database. This involves a resetlogs. Once this is done there is no going back to the standby database (unless you use flashback database). This is what happens in a DR situation when you have lost the primary database. There is always the possibility of some dataloss.
2) Switchover - This is reversing the roles between primary and standby databases. Both primary and standby databases must be available. You can switch back again to the original configuration. There is no dataloss.
Note that both of these options are available in all editions of Oracle (EE, SE, SE1, XE), because they all use the same physical standby database architecture underneath. It is just that in Data Guard it has been automated.
So in Oracle Standard Edition you can also do switchover and failover, it is just that you manually have to do it. There are third party products that can do DataGuard for SE and they have automated the failover and switchover processes in Oracle SE/SE1. One such product is Dbvisit Standby.
The process involved for switchover is:
1) Shutdown the databases (primary and standby)
2) Switch the controlfiles between primary and standby
3) Move the redo logs from primary to the standby
4) Startup the databases
The difficulty comes in where the primary and standby databases have different file locations, or one of them is ASM and the other uses regular file systems. Also RAC makes it all more complicated, as well as OMF.
Dbvisit Standby can handle all scenarios when it comes to switchover.

In call transaction we can display both updated and error records separately in a report.
Like that in session method i want to capture and display in a separate report both error and updated records.

Use the BDC_OPEN_GROUP function module to create a new session. Once you have created a session, then you can insert batch input data into it with BDC_INSERT.
You cannot re-open a session that already exists and has been closed. If you call BDC_OPEN_GROUP with the name of an existing session, then an additional session with the same name is created.
A batch input program may have only one session open at a time. Before opening a session, make sure that any sessions that the program closes any sessions that it previously had opened.
BDC_OPEN_GROUP takes the following EXPORTING parameters:
·        CLIENT
Client in which the session is to be processed.
Default: If you don't provide a value for this parameter, the default is the client under which the batch input program runs when the session is created.
·        GROUP
Name of the session that is to be created. May be up to 12 characters long.
Default: None. You must specify a session name.
·        HOLDDATE
Lock date. The session is locked and may not be processed until after the date that you specify. Only a system administrator with the LOCK authorization for the authorization object Batch Input Authorizations can unlock and run a session before this date.
Format: YYYYMMDD (8 digits).
Default: No lock date, session can be processed immediately. A lock date is optional.
·        KEEP
Retain session after successful processing. Set this option to the value X to have a session kept after it has been successfully processed. A session that is kept remains in the input/output queue until an administrator deletes it.
Sessions that contain errors in transactions are kept even if KEEP is not set.
Default: If not set, then sessions that are successfully processed are deleted. Only the batch input log is kept.
·        USER
Authorizations user for background processing. This is the user name that is used for checking authorizations if a session is started in background processing. The user must be authorized for all of the transactions and functions that are to be executed in a session. Otherwise, transactions will be terminated with no authorization errors.
The user can be of type dialog or background. Dialog users are normal interactive users in the SAP system. Background users are user master records that are specially defined for providing authorizations for background processing jobs.

Content switch session incorrect.

Hi Guys,
i did a test on a set of Load Balancer, which is currently being setup. VIP address is 192.168.11.77 and web server is 192.168.11.48. Port from web server is 8080.
When I telnet to 192.168.11.77 thru port 8080 and try got get a page thru command "GET /nagiosstat/indexright.html", I didn't get the reply.
Noticed that during the transaction, the backend web server (192.168.11.48) come into picture and try to talk to the client (sms). This has caused the transaction between (sms) and 192.168.11.77 become incomplete.

www.miw.com.sg is support by 1st set of Load Balancer, which is currently in operation. VIP address is 202.79.212.55 and web server is holding another IP address, port from web server is port 80.
When I telnet to www.miw.com.sg (202.79.212.55) thru port 80 and get the page thru command "GET /Home/main.jsp", I get the reply correctly. Noticed that the complete transaction only talk to the vip address - www.miw.com.sg.

IVI-C switch step open session error

In my current Test Stand 3.5 sequence I start by using niSE open session.vi to begin a new switch session. I then pass this handle along to other VIs for switching, which works perfectly, and then at the very end of the sequence I pass the handle to a niSE close session.vi. The problem I'm having is now I want to start using the built in IVI-C Switch steps. Everytime I insert one of these steps in the middle of my sequence I get an error because the step appears to be trying to open a new session, when one is already open. Is there a way to pass the currently running session handle into the "virtual device name" of the switch step so that it doesn't try to open a new one?

Hi Jason.
This is known bug in TestStand and it is currently being addressed CAR ID #125874. Basically when the NISE session is closed, TestStand doesn't actually dispose of the session but rather hangs on to it until the execution window is closed.
There is a workaround:
Create a statement step after you close the NISE session, and call the following.
RunState.Execution.TSIviStepTypes_AnchorName_For_NISE Virtual Device = nothing
where NISE Virtual Device is the name of the NISE device that you want to end the session to.

[OBSOLET]Automatically logging in different sessions in KDM via kdmctl

I recently found comfort in KDE, so I try to use KDM on my mediacenter to manage both, a KDE session, as well as an XBMC session.
What I want to do: Log in as $USER on two different sessions, one with XBMC and one with the KDE desktop automatically on boot without the need to provide a password.
After playing a bit with the control center, I came as far as automatically logging in a user and/or allowing a user a passwordless login. This is a good first step. I cannot, however, find a way to define the session it should use, the control center setting for auto login will always use the default session (which is the last session I manually logged in to). There is no way to configure multiple sessions at once in the controlcenter.
So I looked for cli tools and discovered kdmctl. It has a number of features, for example will "kdmctl activate :1" jump to the display :1. Another step closer to my goal is "kdmctl reserve", which opens a new login prompt on the next free $DISPLAY. Now it seems like kdmctl is very session-sensitive. I need root access to call it from a tty, while a normal user is sufficient inside a KDM managed X session. Calling kdmctl in a tty will give me more options, than calling it in X, even with sudo. Upon "# kdmctl" in a tty, I can see resume, manage and login options, which are not there in a KDE session.
What I have so far:
1. I can use the KDE control center to log in a user automatically on :0, but I cannot specify the session (Plasma, XBMC, etc.).
2. I can run "# kdmctl reserve" to create a new login prompt at :1
3. I can login to :1 by issuing "# kdmctl login :1 now USERNAME PASSWORD", but only from a tty (which would be sufficient, as I intend to write a systemd unit).
What I cannot do:
1. I cannot specify the session. I have found http://docs.kde.org/stable/de/kde-works … opics.html, but it is not really helpful. It says I need "[session_arguments]" in the "format of printf specified .dmrc". I assume this is how I could specify my session, but I cannot find any documentation. Maybe I'm using the wrong keywords. There is neither a man page for kdmrc nor for dmrc. This is what I'd like to have some help with.
EDIT: It's not actually solved but has become obsolete. KDE4 is fading away and, according to the wiki, KDE5/plasma5 prefers SDDM. Besides that, I stopped using KDE, stopped switching sessions, stopped working on this a long time ago.

I want to get the session details like access token , provider etc on a page (ExamplePage.xaml.cs) , i used the following example from nokia developers community (link)
and implemented the login part but how can i get session details so that i can send it to my API

Issue with Session slot after implement the tacacs+ on FWSM

Hi,
I am trying to implement tacacs+ on FWSM module using 4.1(10),
only facing issue when trying to connect from Switch (session slot)
(Command authorization failed) Rest of the things working fine
here is the output

If users disabled cookies.( other than session cookies)
how i should dynamically switch session cookies.
and how i can generate session cookies in servlet?

If the user has cookies disabled (session, since persistent ones are rarely used for maintaining session state with a browser), then most containers will attempt 'url-rewriting' and insert the session uid there (in the URL). That should work even if cookies are disabled. In order to access a session, you simply call HttpServletRequest#getSession(). If no session exists, one will be created, else the existing one will be retrieved. The J2EE container will send either a cookie in the response or re-write the URL. You don't have to do anything special.

How to switch to "Login Window" using cocoa?

From my cocoa application I need to programmatically switch user desktop to Login Window.
The analog of this function is "Login Window" item near the user list menu in the status area (Fast User Switching, Session switch).
I need this API under 10.6

In the Terminal, type
{code}/System/Library/CoreServices/Menu\ Extras/User.menu/Contents/Resources/CGSession -suspend{code}
So you just have to perform a system call to run this command.
