Reg using the GP APIs with webdynpro applications

Hi Experts,
I have been implementing webdynpro appln using GP APIs as a callable object in my application. In my webdynpro application i have been using RFCs to access data from the R/3 system.
Are there any setting I need to do in Guided Procedures (portal) to run the application in portal.
Can any one of you explain me regarding what are all the setting i need to do from the Guided Procedures perspective while using callable object that interact with an R/3 system?
Also, I would be grateful for any other valuable suggestions from you regarding implementing webdynpro appln using GP APIs as a callable object.

I've done many javacard programs using this method :
_compilation with javacard kit 2.2.1
_convertion into ".cap" with the javacard kit 2.1.2
All this programs work fine with this method : helloworld, read, write in the card, ....
But when i want to use the crypto api, i can't charge the program in the card (just by adding 2 lines for generating keys):

I think it's because i use the 2.1.2 version , but if i use the 2.2.1 to convert , it's another error and no program work with this method.....even helloworld doesn't work...

I thing i must change my gpshel command , but i have read many forums but can't find the configuration for my card cyberflex 32k, some people had similar problems so they used the kit 2.1.2 combined with 2.2.1 like me, but i think they can't use the crypto api with this.........

I deleted my gpshell 1.4.2 directory and i installed gpshell 1.4.0 instead like they said , to avoid some bugs

Project Oxford. Can I use the Face API for law enforcement app

I am a .Net developer and have recently learned of Microsoft's Project Oxford.
I am very much interested in developing an app using the Face API but, had a question regarding the code of conduct.
Specifically it states:
People who use your app must have the consent of the people whose images are being processed by your app. We ask that you include a prominent notice in your app UI so your end users know that consent
is required.
The application I am attempting to develop is for law enforcement to detect wanted persons while out on patrol.
My questions are:
1. Is there an exception to the rule above for law enforcement?
2. Can I use the Face api for my application knowing that
in most cases law enforcement will not specifically ask for consent while scanning people?

I'm not an expert in this matter, but I will post here what I know:
In NW7 releases (at least 7.01.05) it is possible to run JS, also to capture any WD Event and run your own JS code after that, using IFRAME. I have jQuery running here, it would take some time till you create a "framework" to enable some easy usage. I just want to highlight that is possible, thou I think it's a lot of effort.
Not sure about CE7.1 it seems iFrame is deprecated. Still, being deprecated should not "block" the usage, thou it's not recommended since this functionality can be removed in next releases.
I've read that CE7.2 has JS support, and I think you should try having a word with Armin maybe..

I want to get caret position from a windows desktop application using the Windows API GetCaretPos. It works in any windows Application and in IE. It worked also in FireFox for some minutes in version 3.6.8 but than it stopped working. Can anyone tell me how to make it work?

1.I could not understand what this statement means :

The container already provides lots of services so some code you would write for outside a container is not needed when you write for a container. There are APIs that you are not allowed for in container code if you want to adhere to the spec.

Call URL in the same screen of Webdynpro Application

Hi all,
My requirement is to call a URL when the user clicks on the order description. The URL screen should not replace the origin webdynpro screen i.e in the same screen there will be 2 parts, one with Webdynpro Application Screen and another with URL screen.
Is the Iframe functionality of webdynpro is useful here or please suggest any other options to acheive the same.

How to use the UME api in order to search the LDAP?

I have an application which connects to the LDAP the portal is connecting to and search users according to a certain search criteria.
Here is the relevant piece of code:

According to your company LDAP attributes, you will have to extend the above attributes, telephoneShort for example is an attribute within our company.
The UME API does the rest.
All you have to do, is request the right attribute (in my above example it was the last name).

I'm currently developing a java gui application to display usertasks set by the BPM.
I use the WorkList API to communicate with the TaskActionActionHandler.
I only want the tasks that has a creation that is after a specified date. Therefore I add a filter. The code for retrieving the usertasks now becomes:

You can see from the above code-fragment that I specify a FILTER_TYPE_CREATE_DATE_FROM_FILTER filter that is given a Calendar object. This is not working properly. Also a Date value gives a runtime error.

Enter the format that you have defined in the configuration of the property in the Additional Metadata parameter. Use the syntax customFormat=<pattern>.

How to check the authorization based on webdynpro application

Hi Experts,
I was asked to develop a webdynpro component with two webdynpro applications, one each for internal party and external party to be used.
So how to restrict or check the authorization based on webdynpro application used?
Do we have any authorization object like S_TCODE for webdynpro application in roles and authorizations?

You can assign an authorization object to the Web Dynpro Application within SICF -

Of course you could also programatically check which web dynpro application is being used from within the component and then call a custom auth-check. However maintain at the SICF is probably better for visibilty and long term maintenance costs.

Yep, the http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/d2/0357425e060d53e10000000a155106/content.htm shows how to establish a reference to a portal service in order to consume it in your application. But it works only if you have the API of the portal service you want to reference.

Which SCs are needed if I want to use KM related API in webdynpro

I am using NWDI based development, i want to using KM api in webdynpro application. in the application, file will be uploaded using webdynpro fileupload component and stored in KM. I have read some tutorial and known which jars are needs. but I don't know which software component these jars belong to. I want to add that software component as dependent SC in my software component where my application resides.

Using the Java API

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to see if anyone knows whether I need a license to use the Java API included in the trial version of Adobe LiveCycle ES.
I need to include some PDF manipulation code for dynamic XFA forms in an application, and I first read that XPAAJ jar was free. So is the API here also free or do I need a license? If anyone knows, could you please point me in the direction of the details if a license is needed.

You don't need a license as long as the application you're building is for evaluation or testing, and NOT for production use.
You will need to purchase a license for production use.
Licensing can be complex, and you should contact your local Adobe office or enterprise partner for details.
XPAAJ was never free, it was bundled with other Adobe products.
It has been deprecated, and is no longer supplied or supported, as far as I'm aware. You will need to purchase a LiveCycle license of some sort.

Using the Java APIs

I am attempting to use the java api in my reporting solution. The application that we are developing is using JSF and java. I wanted to keep the same look and feel for my reports.
First, I created a very simple rtf template in Microsoft word using BI Publisher Desktop. This simple template is just a table layout of data. No groupings. I created my datatemplate and ran the DataProcessor, the RTFProcessor, and FOprocessor objects. This worked correctly.
I next created another rtf template. This rtf template contains a grouping on Po_Number. I also modified my data template to group by Po_number. The DataProcessor and the RTFProcessor works fine. However, the FO Processor gives me the following message:
XDOException <Line 43, Column 93>: XSL-1015: (Error) Function 'current-group' not found.
However, I can successfully preview this template (with data) in Microsoft Word. Any ideas what may cause this.

It's either a template issue or your missing some jar files (probably jar files).
I would highly recommend you download the BIPublisherIDE. All this code and framework is already written and it's free!
