Regarding Bex user exits
Hello Friends ,
I have created a variable for a report , can a Info Object be associated to the
variable through Bex variable exits ..
Hello Akash,
yes you can. Suppose you have entered your controlling area in variable ZCO_AREA and you want to fill variable ZCHRT_ACCTS (Chart of accounts). Then you can do it like this in variable exit ZXRSRU01:
DATA: l_s_range LIKE rsr_s_rangesid,
l_s_var_range LIKE rrrangeexit,
i_pco_area LIKE /bi0/pco_area.
CASE i_vnam.
WHEN 'ZCHRT_ACCTS'.
IF i_step = 2. "Fill after variable popup
READ TABLE i_t_var_range INTO l_s_var_range
WITH KEY vnam = 'ZCO_AREA'.
SELECT SINGLE * FROM /bi0/pco_area INTO i_pco_area
WHERE co_area = l_s_var_range-low.
IF sy-subrc = 0.
l_s_range-low = i_pco_area-chrt_accts.
ELSE.
CLEAR l_s_range-low.
ENDIF.
l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
ENDIF.
ENDCASE.
Hope it helps (after a few days of waiting?)

Difference between bex user exit and macros in functionality?
Hi all,
I need to create a report on material master data. I created an infoset on 0material and 0mat_plant. In the requirem
ent, I have a report containing different material numbers followed by attributes in each row. the final column in each
row should be calculated using logic. the logic involves comparing different row values and arrive at final conclusion.
the logic comprises of large number of if conditions. so should i use bex user exit or excel macros?
what is the difference between user exit and macros in funcitonalilty?
is there an issue transporting the macro to Prod for end users to use?
any performance criteria?
Any how to documents ..will be of a lot of help
plz send them to [email protected]

ravi aHi,
Macros offer a powerful and flexible way to extend the features of MS Excel. You can either create a macro using VB code or Record a macro. Use Alt+F11 for creating macro using VB code.
You can refer to Microsoft help site or this link for more details:
http://www.taltech.com/support/sw_tricks/exmacros.htm
User-exits are empty subroutines that SAP Developers have provided for you.You can fill them with your own source code.Technically this is a modification.Customer exits are nothing but a include in customer name space will be provided in the function module which starts with CALL CUSTOMER.You can fill them with your own source code.Technically this is an enhancement.
look into following links for procedure to find and use user-exits transaction for finding user-exits is 'SMOD'

BEX User exit variables in WEBI
Hi Experts,
Need your help please.
I have a report in BEX with a user exit variable wich depends on other manual input variable.
In BEX it works properly but in WEBI it doesn't recognize the user exit variable.
It displays the error message: Not possible to determine the value for ZPD_YEAR_DAY variable
Error in DB. Error message is: failure to execute the query MDX SELECT { [Measures].[D9CS1W7FA8FEOHJ3T32H4QDZ4], [Measures].[D9DH9K1NITCZE4UY3J4UAETZ4], [Measures].[D9DH9K1NITDR2R6PF2KGCU88W], [Measures].[D9CS1W7FA8EMZV7CHJMV2AZPC], [Measures].[D9CS1W7FA8K0S7HNQBO5JARLS], [Measures].[D9CS1W7FA8G6D3UV4MI375S8W], [Measures].[D9CS1W7FA8HPQCIDRPDBC0KSG], [Measures].[D9CS1W7FA8IHEYU538SXEFZ28], [Measures].[D9DH28DWVF6742E64ZOL8FX34] } ON COLUMNS , NON EMPTY CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( CROSSJOIN( { [0CALYEAR].[2010] } , { [0HAP_DOC_ID__ZAP_SUBST].[50], [0HAP_DOC_ID__ZAP_SUBST].[70] } ), [0INFOPROV].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ), [ZDATE_AT].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ), { [ZCPM].[X] } ), [ZPROMOCAO].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ), [ZRESP_AVL__ZNIV_CARR].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ), [ZRESP_AVL].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ), [ZNIV_CARR].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ), [0EMPLOYEE].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ) DIMENSION PROPERTIES MEMBER_NAME, MEMBER_CAPTION, [0EMPLOYEE].[20EMPLOYEE], [0EMPLOYEE].[40EMPLOYEE], [0HAP_DOC_ID__ZAP_SUBST].[20HAP_DOC_ID__ZAP_SUBST], [ZRESP_AVL].[2ZRESP_AVL] ON ROWS FROM [ZAVDP_M01/ZPD_GPS_VARIAVEL_002] with error: Not possible to determine the value for ZPD_YEAR_DAY variable. (WIS 10901)
This ZPD_YEAR_DAY variable is the user exit variable.
Thanks in advance,
José SimõesHi!
I am following up to this post to see if there is something I am missing.
We have bex query with user exit variable and webi bi4sp04.4
In bex the user exit variable works correctly, in webi, it is ignored (the webi results are not filtered as they are in bex web results)
I have tried moving the variable to the char restrictions and removed ready for input - so there are now no prompts in bex query.
I have reviewed note 1611185 as well as other info on restrictions of BICS and webi, but cannot find a clear answer if bex user exit variables are supported in BI4 clients or not.

Objects in BEx User Exit ???
Hello all,
I have come across these in some sample codes. I am new to ABAP coding.
Can anyone please take some time and explain what these objects mean in the BEx User Exit. I dont know if they are just some objects or tables. What is the use of them?. I would really appreciate if anyone can answer atleast a few of the below. Some of these might be just some declarations made by the programmer whilst coding.
E_T_RANGE
L_S_RANGE
RSR_S_RANGESID
L_S_VAR_RANGE
RRRANGEEXIT
I_T_VAR_RANGE
LOC_VAR_RANGE
RESULT-SIGN
RESULT-OPT
RESULT-HIGH
RESULT-LOW
Thanks in advance
S NSN,
This is the Function Module - EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001
Go to SE37 and enter above Function Module and You will find different Tap strips
Go to Import and Export Tab Strips you will find the mentioned Variables.
E_T_RANGE - Variables Value Table
L_S_RANGE - Structure (work Area of E_T_RANGE)

I_T_VAR_RANGE - Table
LOC_VAR_RANGE - Work Area of I_T_VAR_RANGE
RESULT-SIGN - I (Interval)
RESULT-OPT - EQ- Equal
RESULT-HIGH - To Value in the Variable
RESULT-LOW - From Value in the Variable
This is the sample code
XYZ - Is your customer exit variable
SY-DATUM - This will get System Date (Current Date)

Regarding Enhancements/User-Exits in ABAP
Hi,
Can anybody tell me What is meant BY Enhancements & User-Exits.
Also what are diffrent types of Enhancements/User-Exits avialable.
Can anybody explain me about diffrent types of Enhancements/User-Exits.
Can anybody provide me documentation with the examples
for diffrent types of Enhancements/User-Exits.
If anybody is having good material on the same please post it.

Rayeez.Customizing exits allow you to add your own functionality to SAPs standard business applications without having to modify the original applications. SAP creates customer exits for specific programs, screens, and menus within standard R/3 applications. These exits do not contain any functionality. Instead, the customer exits act as hooks. You can hang your own add-on functionality onto these hooks.
If you want to enhance the functionality of your R/3 System, you should take advantage of the exits available in standard R/3 applications. There are two main reasons why you should use exits rather than modifying SAP software yourself. Add-ons attached to exits have the advantage that:
They do not affect standard SAP source code
When you add new functionality to your SAP System using SAPs exits, you do not alter the source code of standard SAP programs in any way. The code and screens you create are encapsulated as separate objects. These customer objects are linked to standard applications, but exist separately from SAPs standard software package.
They do not affect software updates
When you add new functionality to your R/3 System using SAPs exits, your objects (called customer objects) must adhere to strict naming conventions. When it comes time to upgrade a to a new software release, customer objects names ensure that they will not be affected by any changes or new additions to the standard software package.
Customer exits are not available for all programs and screens found in R/3 standard applications. You can only use customer exits if they already exist in the R/3 System. You find find more information about locating applications with pre-defined exits in Locating Applications that have Exits.
As part of the enhancement concept, it is possible for the customer to
add his own elements to application logic, screens and menus.
The current possibilities for enhancement are:
Text enhancements:
Allow the customer to add supplementary documentation for data fields
non-specific to a transaction, and to change key word texts.
Field exits:
Every screen element with data element reference can branch to PBO or
prior to PAI to a function module if desired. The field contents are
available here for doing special checks and making changes (e.g. user-
specific checks, authority checks, writing entered data and producing
statistics...).
Function exits:
From the main program you branch into a software level, in which you you
can store ABAP/4 coding. The applications programmer at SAP determines
where in the main program the function exit is placed, and which data is
imported/exported via the interface. The accompanying documentation
describes the functionality of the function exit.
Menu enhancements:
Pre-conceived menu items can be activated and named. On the function code
set at menu item selection, there can be a reaction in a relevant
function exit.
Screen enhancements:
The customer can determine the layout of areas in screens provided by the
applications developer. Here, additional information can be displayed or
data entered. -

BEx User Exit on Variable to populate with YTD values.
Hi All,
I have a multiple selection option variable on 0CALDAY that I want to prepopulate with the YTD range.
When the variable screen pops up it should display the range 01/01/2008 to 05/05/2008 (Current Date), however the user shall have the ability to change these populated values.
Thanks.Hey thanks for the quick resposne. I was thinking of using the following code, but have the following questions, how do i know that the I_T_VAR_RANGE contains the current date that the report is on?
WHEN 'ZCCYTDIN'.
if i_step = 1.
read table I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE
with key VNAM = 'ZRPTDATE'.
clear l_date1.
clear l_date2.
move LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW to l_date1.
Move First day of the year to low
concatenate l_date1+0(4) '0101' into l_date2.
L_S_RANGE-LOW = l_date2.
Move Calendar day entered by user to high
L_S_RANGE-HIGH = LOC_VAR_RANGE-low.
L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'BT'.
APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.

Urgent: User Exit (ZXM06U02) have some problem in coding.
Hi All,
This is regarding the user exit,
The present issue is.
When sending the PO to supplier portal, the outbound IDOC segment does not get populated properly. The text format = is again converted to space in ECC 6.0 which was not the case with 4.5B.
This is an upgrade issue as the function module used to format text FORMAT_TEXTLINES is completely different in ECC 6.0. The entire code of this function module in 4.5B has been commented in ECC 6.0 and new code has been implemented which splits the text and inserts spaces while formatting as shown below.
This issue can be resolved by implementing a customer exit which gets called after standard SAP populates the IDOC. It requires implementing custom code to remove the unwanted spaces inserted by standard SAP for text id F07. Hence after SAP completes its processing to populate the IDOC, the text would be processed further to remove unwanted spaces before actually sending the IDOC out from SAP R/3.
Thus this upgrade issue resolution requires R/3 development,
<b>I write the code in exit include ZXM06U02</b>:
Coding part:
DESCRIBE TABLE int_edidd LINES tabix.
READ TABLE int_edidd INDEX tabix.
IF int_edidd-segnam = 'E1EDPT2'.
CLEAR E1EDPT1.
CLEAR E1EDPT2.
Check whether its higher level segment E1EDPT1 has F07 in field E1EDPT1-TDID
by looking back internal table int_edidd
w_tabix = tabix - c_1.
w_i = tabix - c_1.
DO w_tabix times.
READ TABLE int_edidd INDEX w_i.
IF int_edidd-segnam = 'E1EDPT1'.
MOVE int_edidd-sdata TO E1EDPT1.
EXIT.
ENDIF.
w_i = w_i - 1.
ENDDO.
IF E1EDPT1-TDID = 'F07'.
READ TABLE int_edidd INDEX tabix.
MOVE: int_edidd-sdata TO e1edpt2.
Remove unwanted Space(s) in field E1EDPT2-TDLINE
CONDENSE E1EDPT2-TDLINE.
MOVE E1EDPT2 TO int_edidd-sdata.
MODIFY int_edidd INDEX tabix.
ENDIF.
ENDIF.
<b></b>
But the code statement 'CONDENSE E1EDPT2-TDLINE.' does not work for removing space.
i did not understand why the code is not working properly.
Could any one please explain how write the code for condense the text with out spaces ASAP.
Thanks,
sridhar"Condense" will leave one space between words by default... so you may want to add "no-gaps" on the end i.e. "CONDENSE E1EDPT2-TDLINE no-gaps." to eliminate all spaces between the words.

Hi All,
Can i know the use of "User exit parameter" field in MD01. as i know it means if we only want to plan the materials of a certain MRP controller, for example, we can enter the key of the appropriate MRP controller as the parameter.
in my scenario, we have already incorporated a user exit for MD01 - MRP Run.
i have 3 MRP controllers, but want to plan for only 2 MRP controllers, then how to enter in that field?
Regards,
RamHI,
User exit are available for Md01 transaction. You can plan material by MRP Type, MRP Controller,MRP Type, Procurement type & so on....
Once you activate user exit, you can select the same by drill down option in user exit Key field.

Hi All,
Can any help me regarding the user exit for transaction VF04. the requirment is
When i click Display Billing List Button it will show up a alv report for "Maintain Billing Due List". when i select some Documents and click SAVE then it will generate Invoice. The enhancment should happen along with the INVOICE generation the Printing of Invoice should happen.
If any one of you have done this kind of requiement please help me.
regards,
Lakshmikanth.T.VHi,
Would be much easier, when you tell us the exit you are talking about.
I searched and found exit EXIT_SAPLV60P_008. When you have a look into the calling of this exit (where-used-list), then you will find routine vkdfs_data_display in include SDBILLDL.
That's immediately before ALV-display, obviously this whole routine is never called in batch.
But in batch you have EXIT_SAPLV60P_009, EXIT_SAPLV60P_010... maybe you should make a search for a better (or second) place for your enhancements.
