Regarding BW system setting

Hi,
I have to make my BW prod system in non-modifiable status.  But Query, DTP & info-package should be changed.
So what should I do?
Thanks & Regards

  • Clarification Regarding Logical System Names

    HI all,
    I read the blogs regarding Logical System Name, even I am having the some problems in my system.
    For PI system client is 100.
          R/3 System Client is 100 is created.
    IN PI when I checked the sale->basic setting-> LOgical Settings-> Assign Logical Systems
    I found there is only one client 100, and it is having the same logical system name as 'PICLNT100'.
    In SLD one Business System is created for Client 100 and having the Logical System Name is 'PICLNT100'.
    When I checking in the R/3 system that logical system Name ('PICLNT100')  is not there  and for r/3 client 100 having the different logical system name.
    IN ID when I found the Goto ID->File Buinsess system and Menu ->Services->Adapter Specific Identifiers->Logical Ssytem,
    It is different from the SLD logical System Name.
    How Can I know in PI, that Logical System is belongs to r/3 or PI client 100,
    when I running the sceanrio it is giving error as ATTRIBUTE_INV_SND_SERV while doing the file to Idoc scenario.
    How I have to maintain the logical system names in this case?
    please help me in this.
    Regards,
    Sree

    hi.
    each r3 system has his own SLN (PI,BI,ECC,etc). this name identify each R3 sytem.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/78/217dc151ce11d189570000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
    IN ID when I found the Goto ID->File Buinsess system and Menu ->Services->Adapter Specific Identifiers->Logical Ssytem,
    to export data of your R3 system to SLD, just do it from TCODE RZ70 in your r3 system, not PI.
    once you configure it all data from r3 system is exported to SLD.
    if the SLN does not match in Adapter Specific Identifiers->Logical Ssytem, edit the Bussines System (press in the little pencil) go to Adapter Specific Identifiers->Logical Ssytem and prees in the little hand icon. in the SLN in not refresh, go to menu enviroment--> CLEAR SLD DELTA CACHE. and repeat the steps before.
    each time you send data to an R3 system and the sender system is a legacy. in your receiver communication channel>header mapping>sender system--> select the PI Bussines system and try again.
    hope its helps

  • System setting does not allow changes to be made to object LSYS

    Hi
    Im trying to create the process chain in BW-Production System . Like im trying to delete the PSA data for one datasource in BI7.0 .
    Im using the 'Delete requests from the PSA' process type in the process chain . When i try to give the datasource name and source system name in the variant of 'Delete requests from the PSA' process type and save them , then it is saying that
    System setting does not allow changes to be made to object LSYS
    Why it is saying like that . But i can able to include the other process types in the process chain .
    regards
    mohammed

    Dear Mohammed,
    Since you are trying to create process chain in production system.
    Normally production system wont be open for development at any time. Why the system settings does not allow changes was, your production is not modifiable state.
    Check the settings in SE06. system would be non-modifiable for sure.
    in SCC4,  settings ->"changes to the cross customizing objects would be not allowed"
    These two settings/configurations would not allow any development or changes or edit or create in production.
    Please check with your basis folks and proceed further.
    Hope this would help you more in understanding

  • System setting does not allow changes to be made to object

    Hi experts,
      I implelemt ST-PI/A today and apply note 1300023. There is a information(???) message keep warning
    "System setting does not allow changes to be made to object NOTE 0001300023". I think I should SE06 to modify system change option, but I don't know which one. Please help.

    Hi,
    If you login in German you can see the variable %1 being replaced by "SDF/" in the Help window.
    Or you  can find the text in the note:
    «/SDF/CCMS_READ CCMS_CREATE_COMP_DOWNLOAD»
    Go to SE03 and expand Administration node, Set System Change Option and set Namespace prefix /SDF to Modifiable.

  • "Alter system set command" in a RAC database!!

    Hi, all.
    The database is (10.2.0.2.0) 2- node RAC database on 32-bit windows 2003
    EE SP1.
    I issued the following command on Node 1 database.
    --> Alter system set db_block_buffers= xxx sid='rac1';
    I was able to see "PE enqueue" in top 5 wait event section from an AWR report.
    In addition, I was able to find "PZ99","PZ98" process dump file in BDUMP.
    Soon later, I could find CKPT and DBWR hung.
    Is there anyone who experienced this issue?
    Thanks and Regards.

    10.2.0.2 has some bug which is fixed 10.2.0.3
    You check sequence cache. If it has less value, increase it to 10000.
    select CACHE_SIZE from dba_sequences where SEQUENCE_OWNER='SYS' and SEQUENCE_NAME='AUDSES$';
    SQL> alter sequence sys.audses$ cache 10000;

  • System setting for vendor evaluation incomplete

    HI....
    I want to caryout automatic vendor evaluation when i run t code ME63, its show an error system setting for purchase org incomplete where as i have maintained all the parameters from standarfd 0001, can anyone tell me how to carry out ven evaluation.
    Regards
    SARFRAZ

    Hi,
    Select SPRO --> Materials Management --> Purchasing --> Vendor Evaluation. Select following criteria -
    1) Define Weighing keys - Here define weighing keys in addition to 01- Equal Weighing & 02- Unequal Weighing (if required)
    2) Define Criteria - Here 5 standard criteria are maintained. Maintain additional criteria if required. Also maintain sub-criteria. Each main criteria contains some standard subcriteria. If required you may maintain additional subcriteria upto 20 per main criteria.
    3) Define Scope List - Here you may maintain how the evaluated vendors should be ranked.
    4) Define Purchase Organization Data for Vendor Evaluation - Here you may maintain main criteria & sub-criteria for your purchasing organisation. Also maintain score for equal & unequal weighing. Maintain point score for automatic  criteria for each percentage vainance
    Hope this fulfils your query

  • Alter system set nls_length_semantics

    Hi all,
    my question concerns the scope in the change of NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS can be performed.
    The 10gR2 documentation only the
    "Modifiable      ALTER SESSION"
    But what about altering the system and making your own setting to default for all sessions? With which scope?
    I tried
    alter system set nls_length_semantics='CHAR';
    alter system set nls_length_semantics='CHAR' scope=spfile;
    alter system set nls_length_semantics='CHAR' scope=both;
    None had really any effect. Do I have to bounce the database?

    Hello,
    Do I have to bounce the database?Yes, you have to shutdown and startup the database.
    Else the NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS change won't be effective.
    You may have more details on the following thread:
    nls_database_parameters->nls_length_semantics Help!
    There's also an interesting Note from MOS:
    Examples and limits of BYTE and CHAR semantics usage (NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS) [ID 144808.1]They give many information about NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS and the following Bug:
    Bug 1488174
    Problem: ALTER SYSTEM does not change the setting of NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS for the current and new (!) sessions.
    Workaround: Don't use ALTER SYSTEM SET NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS scope=both; but set NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS as a init.ora parameter or issue ALTER SYSTEM SET NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS=CHAR scope=spfile; and bounce the database.Hope this help.

  • Query on ALTER SYSTEM SET

    Hi,
    I was under impression that
    "PFILE has the limitation to change the initialization parameters dynamically.If any init parameter is to be changed,we can edit the pfile and the parameter changes will come into effect with the next reboot of the system.
    To overcome this limitation,Oracle has come up with the concept of SPFILE ,where in the initialization parameters can be changed dynamically using ALTER SYSTEM SET statement."
    But,today I started my test database using PFILE and executed the following command to change the memory_target parameter from 300M to 290M.
    ALTER SYSTEM SET memory_target=290M;
    And to my surprise,this statement executed fine without any errors and memory_target parameter has been set to the new value(of course,in memory).
    Isn't it changing the init parameters dynamically using PFILE itself??
    Please clarify my doubt and correct my understanding.

    You have a wrong interpenetration about the genesis of the SPFILE. Yes it is a binary file and all that but remember, its not the SPFILE that makes a parameter dynamic or a PFILE that makes it static but it's the very nature of the parameter itself that makes it happen. Yes, the difference in the PFILE and SPFILE parameter would be evident when you would change a dynamic parameter and would give a bounce to the db. Since teh PFILE wasn't updated (its a text file so has to be updated manually) , with the next restart, the parameter would take the same value as it has in the PFILE. But with the SPFILE, depending on what you have set in the SCOPE, the parameter would behave accordingly.

  • Alter system set shared_pool_size extremely slow.

    I am trying to increase my shared_pool_size from 60m to 200m by simply typing alter system set shared_pool_size=200m;
    I did alter system flush shared_pool; before to clear out the current shared_pool.
    I'm on 9i and my SGA_MAX_SIZE is 3g and I have plenty room to grow.
    show sga
    Total System Global Area 3222769016 bytes
    Fixed Size 744824 bytes
    Variable Size 2382364672 bytes
    Database Buffers 838860800 bytes
    Redo Buffers 798720 bytes
    My event in v$session_wait is background parameter adjustment.
    Any help would be appreciated. I know that I can bounce the server and let it read it from the init.ora. However, I'm trying to fix some current 4031s in my shared pool. The flush did fix them temporarily.

    Are you sure your instance was in the state you thought it was ? This is what you reported from show sga:
    Total System Global Area  3222769016 bytes
    Fixed Size                    744824 bytes
    Variable Size             2382364672 bytes
    Database Buffers           838860800 bytes
    Redo Buffers                  798720 bytesYou say your shared_pool_size is 60M and you want to grow it to 200M, but the Variable Size in the output above suggests that your shared pool had already grown to about 2.3 GB, so your command would have been trying to shrink it quite dramatically. (And 9i isn't very good at shrinking the shared pool because of the problems of pinned and "KEEP"ed objects in the library cache.
    Things to check (from another session):
    v$sga_current_resize_ops to see if your resize operation is still running, and what it's trying to do.
    v$sga_resize_ops to see i f your resize operation completed some time ago - leaving your session stuck somewhere else. (There's a convenient query I wrote against this view published here: http://jonathanlewis.wordpress.com/2007/04/16/sga-resizing/ )
    v$session_wait (for the resize session) to see if the session is waiting or working
    v$sesstat (for the resize session) to see if it gives you any clues about current activity

  • Failure "System set to Unchangeable" in eCATT

    Hello,
    I have a problem with an eCATT run.
    I try to enter a value in a table with the settab command (SETTAB ( YPDM4T001 , TABLE_2, PDM_H42 ). )
    When I execute the script I get the error in the log file "System set to Unchangeable".
    Where can I change this so that I am allowed to enter values in the table?
    I tried to enter a value manually and that worked.
    What do I have to do?
    Thanks in advance.
    greets
    manuel

    Hi Manuel,
    see my reply on your other post.
    SETTAB is intended for writing into customizing tables only. In your case, YPDM4T001 is either no customizing table or the client in your system is protected against customizing changes (see sm31->view on T000).
