Regarding creation of data type from an excel sheet

hi experts,
  I am to create a data type which has 2000 fields. details about data type is in excel sheet.
Is there any way i can convert this excel sheet to xsd and impot it in XI
or there is any other way to do it fast.
Or i will have create it manually one by one element.
thanks
Jaideep

Hi,
By default the occurences in the DTD will be Only One Occurrence.
In the DTD you have to delclare the occurences as below and then convert to XSD using XML spy.
Declaring Only One Occurrence of an Element
Declaring Only One Occurrence of an Element
<!ELEMENT element-name (child-name)>Example:<!ELEMENT note (message)>
The example above declares that the child element "message" must occur once, and only once inside the "note" element.
Declaring Minimum One Occurrence of an Element (put + sign after the message)
<!ELEMENT element-name (child-name+)>Example:<!ELEMENT note (message+)>
The + sign in the example above declares that the child element "message" must occur one or more times inside the "note" element.
Declaring Zero or More Occurrences of an Element  (put * sign after the message)
<!ELEMENT element-name (child-name)>Example:<!ELEMENT note (message)>
The * sign in the example above declares that the child element "message" can occur zero or more times inside the "note" element.
Declaring Zero or One Occurrences of an Element (put ? sign after the message)
<!ELEMENT element-name (child-name?)>Example:<!ELEMENT note (message?)>
The ? sign in the example above declares that the child element "message" can occur zero or one time inside the "note" element.

  • Data Migration from MS   Excel Sheet to Oracle 9i Database

    Can anyone please help me to perform a data migration from MS excel sheet to Oracle 9i Database. I have an excel sheet from which i need to move data to the database. One of the columns in the sheet posseses multiple new line characters, and which causes a problem while migrating data with the help of SQL Loader. I would like to know whether any utility is available to migrate data directly from MS Excel sheet to the database, or it would he really helpfull for me , if anyone provide me with an alternate solution.

    I think Christian's suggestion will work for easily and quickly.
    1) create table link of Oracle target table in MS Office's ACCESS thru ODBC;
    2) from Access screen, you may easily dump the excel data into the linked table.
    This is very easy and feasible ways. Don't bother to find other ways. The other ways will need you to clear the unwanted carriage return signs first.

  • How to set the Data types of the Excel sheet while exporting details to it.

    Hi All,
    We are trying to export some order details to the excel sheet from a jsp. It is working fine when the local system language is set to English.
    But when i change it to Russian. the details like Line Numbers(e.g: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and so on... ) are getting changed into some other data type(e.g: 01.янв, 02.янв, 03.янв and so on....).
    i guess this is mainly due to some data type mismatch, so i tried setting all the possible charset for response in the jsp, but could not succeeded.
    This is only for the details which or of decimal format, working fine for the details which are in String type. like Description, Item name etc...
    As it is high preference issue for our client, Please help me in this regard ASAP.
    Thanks & Regards,

    hi Shiv..
    Its not an OAF page but it is from Apps only (i.e.Oracle iStore).
    we tried writing this:
    <%response.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel; charset=UTF-8");%>
    <%response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=downloadOrders.xls" );%>

  • Creation of data type

    hi all.
    sorry i just want some information in creation of data type which i svery ease to solve.
    and it is i had seen one data type which was creatd by my colleague and its haveing occurance 1..unbounded for some and 1..10 for remaining elements and the other thing is in details she has given MAXLENGHT.
    i just want to know y she has given these things under data type.
    waiting for any great answer.
    bye.
    regards.
    seeta ram.

    Hi,
    All data types are described by XML Schema. All required information about XML Schemas you will get from:
    <a href="http://W3C XML Schema">http://www.w3.org/XML/Schema</a>
    You can create data types either directly in IR using data type editor or import from external definitions.
    Occurence, maxlength are properties of tags, attributes etc. and are defined by XML Schema.
    Regards,
    Jakub

  • Auto Expand Html table when we paster data from Microsoft Excel sheet

    hi,
    I need copied data to my Html table.
    Actual requirement is like that when i copy selected rows with selected columns from Microsoft excel sheet and press "ctlr v" on my jsp page then table on jsp must be auto expand as data in excel sheet.
    Take an example.
    I copy 4 rows with 3 columns from excel sheet.
    I have JSP page with 1 row and 3 columns.
    when i press "ctrl v" on first cell of my jsp table then table should be auto expand to accommodate 4 rows of excel sheet.
    here i have some of the code which is near to this, this code just copy past only one row, but i need multiple rows.
    If need then please refer below code and if possible then give me the solution to auto expand HTML table on JSP
    Code to copy paste cell in to HTML Table
    <form>
    <table>

    Hi Ross,

    I suspect it is caused by the difference of web server security settings.

  • How to put the data from one excel sheet in another excel sheet

    hi ,
    I want put the data from one excel sheet in another excel sheet in seq. order Eg: I have one excel sheet in which i have 3 col. Name , Sno. , Email along with data .I want to put data from this sheet to another excel sheet in the following orders of col. Sno,Name, Email .
    While loading data in another sheet , i have to perform validation like char field should n't contain numeric values and vice versa .
    Let me know on this soon ..
    regards
    Prashant

    Well, you can issue separate queries with the ordering you need from each tab in the spreadhseet. You can open an ODBC connection from a VBA macro, select a sheet, run a query, select another sheet and run another query. As for the validation, you can do this in Oracle via stored procedures or again in VBA code.

  • Transport data types from PI 7.1 to 7.0

    Hi,
    I need to create in PI .70 a datatype that contains 30 datatypes, these datatypes are created in other machine PI 7.1, It's possible transport this objects from PI 7.1 to 7.0?
    How I can do it?
    Thanks in advance
    Jose Manuel

    Export the data types from the IR in PI 7.0 and then import them into PI 7.1.

  • How to access  complex data type from a soap web services?

    hello
    can u please tell me how can i access complex data type from a soap web service from jdeveloper 10g
    Jdeveloper generates 3 classes
    serviceStub
    getproperties
    response
    i have to retreview the data which is a complex data type it gives some
    unknown type. and the return value is a key-value pair data type .
    regards
    vs

    After you create the partner link and the invoke (to create the variables), change the element type of the response message to the complex type definition of your collection that appears in the XSD. You can do the same thing if you want to change the element type of the payload of the request message as well.

  • How to crete data type from XSD

    Hi All,
    can anyone tell me ...how to create data type from agiven xsd.
    I need urgently....
    thanks in advance....

    import this XSD, load this in your mapping editor and then use this to crate the datatype manually.
    Or, use XML spy, load this XSD and then you should be able to see the Structure, or,
    Look into the XSD data and decipher things yourself

  • Find data type from value

    Hi,
    I want to find data type from its value.
    Ex- If value = 1234 then its data type is numeric.
          If value = ABCD then its data type is char.
    So is there any FM which can tell the data type from its value or any way to do it.

    Hai.
    check this.
    the five non-numeric types (text field (C), numeric text field (N), date field (D), time field (T), and hexadecimal field (X)), there are three numeric types, used in ABAP to display and calculate numbers. Data type N is not a numeric type. Type N objects can only contain numeric characters (0...9), but are not represented internally as numbers. Typical type N fields are account numbers and zip codes.
    integers - type I
    The value range of type I numbers is -2*31 to 2*31-1 and includes only whole numbers. Non-integer results of arithmetic operations (e.g. fractions) are rounded, not truncated.
    You can use type I data for counters, numbers of items, indexes, time periods, and so on.
    Packed numbers - type P
    Type P data allows digits after the decimal point. The number of decimal places is generic, and is determined in the program. The value range of type P data depends on its size and the number of digits after the decimal point. The valid size can be any value from 1 to 16 bytes. Two decimal digits are packed into one byte, while the last byte contains one digit and the sign. Up to 14 digits are allowed after the decimal point. The initial value is zero. When working with type P data, it is a good idea to set the program attribute Fixed point arithmetic.Otherwise, type P numbers are treated as integers.
    You can use type P data for such values as distances, weights, amounts of money, and so on.
    Floating point numbers - type F
    The value range of type F numbers is 1x10*-307 to 1x10*308 for positive and negative numbers, including 0 (zero). The accuracy range is approximately 15 decimals, depending on the floating point arithmetic of the hardware platform. Since type F data is internally converted to a binary system, rounding errors can occur. Although the ABAP processor tries to minimize these effects, you should not use type F data if high accuracy is required. Instead, use type P data.
    You use type F fields when you need to cope with very large value ranges and rounding errors are not critical.
    Using I and F fields for calculations is quicker than using P fields. Arithmetic operations using I and F fields are very similar to the actual machine code operations, while P fields require more support from the software. Nevertheless, you have to use type P data to meet accuracy or value range requirements.
    C ---> character
    D ---> date
    P ---> packed
    T ---> time
    X ---> hexadecimal
    I ---> integer.
    N ---> Muneric.
    Possible ABAP/4 data types:
    C: Character.
    D: Date, format YYYYMMDD.
    F: Floating-point number in DOUBLE PRECISION (8 bytes).
    I: Integer.
    N: Numerical character string of arbitrary length.
    P: Amount or counter field (packed; implementation depends on hardware platform).
    S: Time stamp YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.
    T: Time of day HHMMSS.
    V: Character string of variable length, length is given in the first two bytes.
    X: Hexadecimal (binary) storage.
    regards.

  • Is CS6 capable of 'Data Mapping' from an excel based database?

    I have CS6 and want to know if it is capable of data mapping from an excel based database.
    Basically i am using inDesign to create new Organisational Charts for my company. i have 23 seperate documents created, all of which conatin; 1 image box and 2 text boxes per each employee in that particular department.
    I want each document from inDesign to point at the database and pull in the correct details to each box within that document.
    I am aware of the 'place' feature but all this does is allow to you to select a range of cells and dump that in the document randomly.
    i have tried ringing adobe and they ponted me to here.
    I am a man on the edge with this... someone please help. Even if its to say 'NO' inDesign does not support this feature.
    Thanks in advance, Danny.

    Well, without more information on your data, the layout in ID, and how you expect to connect them, as Mike has already said, it's pretty hard to tell you what out of the box capabilities ID has that will work, if any, or where to point you to other commercial add-on products if they exist, or even to suggest a scripted solution, though my current reaction is that you are looking at some sort of XML workflow, which is well outside my own comfort zone.
    ID is a very complex program that has many more capabilities than what are "built-in" in the standard release versions. One of it's greatest features is the ability to expand what you can do through scripts or plugins. This forum is full of free advice, but very few participants are willing to to spend more than an hour designing a custom solution that will not be useful to anyone else unless they are compensated. The people who respond here are professionals, like you, who need to make a living. If I were paid for the time I spend here handing out free solutions and advice I wouldn't need my regular design business anymore.
    If you feel a feature should be included in the general release at no additional cost, please ask Adobe to do so: Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form
    You need to understand, though, that Adobe is a big corporation that budgets the time that developers can spend on new features, and most new things that are added are features that many users have asked for, and usually over the course of several versions (long document users are still waiting for improved footnotes, unchanged since they were introduced), so unless this is a "killer" new idea that will benefit thousands of users you are unlikely to see Adobe add it any time soon, if at all.

  • Problem with Changing Data while Import through Excel Sheet

    Hi Experts,
    I am new to SAP LUMIRA and I am facing an issue with it. Actually, I am importing the data for analysis from an Excel sheet into SAP LUMIRA. I am able to prepare the visualization in the first go. But If I am changing the number of columns in the excel sheet afterwards (that may occur in normal circumstances where data is dynamic) and then refreshing the LUMIRA dashboard, it fails. Please can you tell me about a possible mistake or is it really feasible when we change data afterwards and then refresh the dashboards once again.
    Looking forward to your answers.
    Regards,
    Aman

    What is the error message?
    Can you confirm you are using 1.15.1?

  • Help required in creating a dimension from an excel sheet

    Hello all ,
    We have a new requirement ,where we need to create a Dimension from an excel sheet. I tried creating it from a . csv file. But , I am not sure how to set the across, down statement ( if any) . The procedure is able to peek the data from the excel sheet. But , it says that the dimension member is not a selected member of variables. We have not created any variable yet. The transcript of the procedure is below :
    remove dimension MODULE
    ACCESS EXTERNAL
    USE 'C:\module.csv'
    DESCRIPTION FREE ,
    peek only 5
    read
    BEGIN
    construct MODULE
    level MODULE_CD
    label MODULE_DESC
    preface "custom 5 allocate 1000,30,1"
    END
    end
    compile dimension MODULE
    Please advise
    Thanks and Regards
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
    I believe you should be identifying the fields you have in your csv file, in your case MODULE_CD and MODULE_DESC:
    DESCRIPTION FREE ,
    MODULE_CD text 10
    MODULE_DESC text 20
    Can you try that to see if it makes a difference?
    Regards!
    Ricardo
