Regarding file path
Hi all,
I have downloaded the internal table to application server.
but in AL11 transaction I am not able to see that directory. Is there any way to access the application server path where I downloaded the file.
Hello,
Either you can ask basis team to do SAP mapping of the directory where you have loaded file in application server.
or you can get the physical file apth & try to connect the server using FTP explorer tool.you need to ahve user id & pwd for the server.ONce you access server just click on the directory where you ahve loaded file .Find file & see the contents.
Thanks.

Regarding Application server file path
Hi All,
please explain the process how to create logical file path in FILE t-code.Hi,
logical file path
The (platform-independent) logical file path is evaluated at runtime to get the (platform-dependent) physical path (see Assignment of Physical Paths to Logical Path).
Two examples of this are:
· Logical file path: BW_OLAP_CACHE
Name: BW OLAP Cache
· Logical file path: BW_OLAP_CACHE_SPAN
Name: BW OLAP cache cross-application server
Assignment of Physical Paths to Logical Path
At runtime, the physical path assigned for the corresponding operating system platform is generated from the logical file path.
Since the physical path is platform-dependent, the customer must set it her/himself. The closer the file is to the application server or, with the cross-application server cache mode, to the application server, the faster it can be found and read.
Log(ical) path: BW_OLAP_CACHE
Name: BW OLAP Cache
Syntax group: UNIX (all Unix platforms)
Phys(ical) path: /usr/ (Syntax group WINDOWS NT)
In a heterogeneous system landscape (such as UNIX and Windows NT servers) all system-specific syntax groups must be maintained. Ensure that the definitions for the various syntax groups point to the same directory.

Regarding registry path of plx files
Hi All
I have created a new library and referred it in one of the forms. But attaching library to the form requires the plx file path of the library to be mentioned in Form/Libr attachment section in Edit generator preference of the particular form.
Is there some some registry path which we can modify to put the path where all the plx files are kept. This will not require the attachment of library to the form explicitly.
Any help in this regard is appreciated.
Cheers SudhirDid you include the path of the plx files in your Forms path?
And after you deploy your Forms to the Oracle Application server also include the path of the plx files to the Forms path in the environment file.

Regarding logical file path specification
How logical file path can be specified and when and why it can be used?
Hi Naveen,
Logical File Path can be created using transaction FILE and it is used when you have the requirement to upload your data to the application server. -
What is a Logical and Physical file path in sap?
what is a Logical and Physical file path in sap?
Hi,
Physical file is what you see from the OS level.
Logical file is what ABAP code can call certain functions to read/write.
Transaction FILE would link them together. Typically the logical path ends with "<FILENAME>", and the logical file refers to the logical path.
To extract the physical path from the logical path name

How to get the file path from HTML input form in Firefox3
In IE7 (and probably all famous browsers, including old Firefox 2), if we submit a file like 'C:\folder1\folder2\folder3\filename' it works properly and gives the full path to the file and the filename.
In Firefox 3, it returns only 'filename', because of their new 'security feature' to truncate the path, as explained in Firefox bug tracking system (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143220)
I have no clue how to overcome this 'new feature'.
Can anyone help to find a single solution to get the file path both on Firefox 3 and IE7?
Thanks in advance....Doubleposted and ignored any previous answer: [http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5342405]. Don't do that. It's rude.
Regarding to your "problem": why do you need the file path? -
Logical file path problem in lsmw
Hi folks,
I created logical file path in FILE tcode. its created and assigned physical file path to logical file path.
then i am assigning that logical file path into lsmw step (specify file step).
under specify file i am assigning into import data and convert data.
once read data step completed read data must be save under this physical file but data is not saving under this path.
can any one help me out this..
1.can any one help how to create physical file in file tcode
2.how to assigne that physical file to lsmw step specify fileHi Srikanth,
There is no need to create the logical file path using the FILE transaction.
Under Specify file step, you need to give your local file path in LEGACY DATA Section.
Please check the below link in using the LSMW step by step.

Hope this helps.

File browse : How to keep the file path in the file browse field?
Hello,
I have
1) file browse field called P2_FILE_PATH.
2) a select list with submit : P2_REGION
If i upload some file d:\abc.gif , then select some region in the P2_REGION,
P2_FILE_PATH will become empty. But in the session, i can find the blob value. but not the "d:\abc.gif "
Using the following script I could capture the value of P2_FILE_PATH in a field
P2_TEST.
onload="javascript:document.getElementById(P2_FILE_PATH').value = document.getElementById('P2_TEST').value;"
P2_TEST contains d:\abc.gif .
How to retain the file path, though some other field is selected and submitted?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
ArchanaHello Archana,
You can't do what you want because of some HTML security restrictions – nothing to do with APEX. As you found out, You can capture the value of this item. You can't set it. After submitting the page, the browser is the one to clear the item.
The only workaround is to work with AJAX and not submit the page until the end of the user input phase.
