Regarding Import format for FDM Maploader

Dear All ,
I m trying to import a Maploader file in which i have specified all the dimensions . However only Entity and Account dimension is getting populated . Neither ICP nor Custom 1 to 4 are getting populated . Hence while exporting i m getting the missing dimension error . Can anyone let me know a suitable option by which i can import eport properly .

Hi, I'd suggest the FDM forum:

  • Source Data file format for FDM

    Hi,
    I am new in FDM and have couple of question on data loading.. We are using FDM to load the data in Essbase. Please help me on these-
    Question 1:
    In source data file, suppose, we have around 300 account members and around 100 PO numbers. There are multiple 'PO numbers' records for each 'account member'.
    As per our requirement, we need to sum up the all values for 'PO number' column for each account.
    For example, suppose, we will get data file as below. Here, Important point is, I don't have dimension for 'PO number ' in Essbase. I will get the accounts data corresponding to 'PO number' but there is no dimension in Essbase to store data at 'PO number' level.
    Account column PO number Actual Estimated
    A001 P0123_10 10.00 15.00
    A001 P0123_20 20.00 25.00
    A002 P0123_30 30.00 35.00
    A002 P0123_40 40.00 45.00
    A002 P0123_50 50.00 55.00
    A003 P0123_60 60.00 65.00
    A003 P0123_70 70.00 75.00
    A003 P0123_80 80.00 85.00
    and so on
    Now we want to sum up the data for each Account member i.e
    Account column Actual Estimated
    A001 30.00 40.00
    A002 120.00 135.00
    and so on ---
    As per my understanding, While defining the *'Import format'* for this source data file , we will not consider the column for 'PO number' and will define the mapping with merge option. Hence, multiple record for each account will be accumulated.
    Please suggest me on this.. Is my understanding correct or how will handle this type of scenario?
    Question2:
    Suppose, we have data for multiple scenarios ( i.e. Actual, Estimated etc) in one excel sheet, which will be used in FDM as a source file? As per admin guide, we have POV for Category and data will be loaded for that selected POV only. In this case, will FDM consider the data for each selected POV scenario or how FDM will function in this case... do we need to have separate files for each scenario...
    Please help me to solve these problems...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mohit Jain

    QUESTION1: If you ignore the PO field in the import you will get the accumulating behaviour you describe. Not sure what you mean by using merge in the mapping. The default behaviour of FDM is to accumalate all non-unique lines following the mapping process you don't have to set anything
    QUESTION2: Data will only be loaded to the selected Category in the POV if you have data in the file that needs to be targetted at a different scenario you will need a seperate load file containing that data and choose the alternate category in a seperate manual workflow process

  • Preferred import format for iphoto4

    I've got some old photos that were original scanned directly into PhotoDeluxe. Want them in iPhoto now for obvious reasons. iPhoto Import produces a text message for each photo that amounts to "Can't import".
    I can pass them through Photoshop and export them as almost any known format. But which one? I've tried TIFF, which I know to be lossless, and it apparently works well --the "before" and "after" photos look identical on the screen. But are others just as good?
    What's the preferred import format for iPhoto4 to maintain photo quality? (Is the answer the same for later versions? I assume so.)
    Thanks,
    Henry

    Henry,
    Had to do it myself with some old scans from PhotoDeluxe - run them through PhotoShop and save in another format. That text message means the PD file is propietary PD format - requires PD to use.
    Your export choice from Photoshop depends on what you plan to use the photo for. iPhoto is by nature a JPEG creature, but will accept and protect files in other formats.
    I open PD files in PhotoShop or PhotoShop Elements and Save As a full .psd file for safekeeping and as a .jpg I import into iPhoto. I don't have use for anything bigger or better than a .jpg in iPhoto. I don't edit or print with iPhoto.

  • How to create Import format for building  version Hirerarchy and Node

    Hi
    i Want to know  how to create  Import format for building version  Hirerarchy and Nodes.Can anyone  show me with example  or format  for version  Hierarchy  with few nodes for the hierarchy
    i Want to Build   this   1. Version1 (Version)
                                     2.Account (Hirerarchy)
                                     3. Balancesheet (Limb)
                                     4. Assets (Limb)
                                     5. Cash (Leaf)
    Thanks,

    Please follow the DRM User Guide,
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/drm_user.pdf
    Below is my preferred approach, by selecting only relation and Hierarchy sections,
    The relation section contains the Node Name and Parent Name ( you can include any other properties, but as a best practice keep the Parent Node as the last column).
    The Hierarchy ( Hier ) section contains the Hierarchy Name, Top Node and Hierarchy description
    Follow the Import steps and provide a Name for the version.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    [relation]
    AC_BalanceSheet AC_Account
    AC_Asset AC_Account
    AC_Cash AC_Account
    [hier]
    Account AC_Account AccountHier
    ++++++++++++++++++++++
    Note: Please delete all the special characters (TAB) created at the end of  [relation] and [hier] sections while you copy the content from an Excel sheet to a Notepad.

  • Multiple FDM Import Formats for One Location

    I want to import trial balance data directly from the Oracle Financials database. I'm creating an import integration script to pull the ledgers directly via a SQL statement. My issue is that I also want to be able to write scripts to modify each individual field on the import, similar to a delimited import script where I can have a script for each dimension. Do you know if it's possible to combine import integration and delimited scripts in a single location? I'm guessing it may be a combination of the Import Format and Integration Options settings on the location, but I'm not sure which one should go where. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    This is not possible. Any adjustments to the data would need to be done within the integration script.

  • Import Format Audit FDM

    I have a few questions around import formats as I have recently seen some new approached that I have not seen before:
    Firstly are Import Formats auditable? Can the changes etc be tracked?
    Secondly the formats I see are concatenating GL accounts and a few things from the GL to create a new "unique" account that is then mapped in FDM.
    E.g.,
    in the GL
    GL Account
    810000 - Revenue $10,000
    GL Attribute1
    BL - Blue
    GL Attribute2
    T1 - Dakota
    FDM Import
    Then creates a source GL Account of
    810000BLT1
    FDM mapping
    810000BLT1 = TO_00001
    HFM
    TO_00001 $10,000
    Has anyone seen this before, where effectively a new account is created from the import format ?

    1. I can't make a comment on FDMEE, but what is now 'classic' FDM does not audit the import format table. However if it is a requirement, then i am sure your DBA could sort something out
    2. Yes, this is quite common, but perhaps more for the other dimensions rather than the account dimension.

  • Import Format for Separte Debit and Credit Columns (comma delimited file)

    I have a file that is comma delimited with a sparate debit column and a separate credit column:
    Sample:
    Ent,Acct,description,Dr,Cr
    ,1000,test,100,
    ,110010,another test,,100
    My import format is this:
    Comma delimited
    Field Number Number of Fields Expression
    Entity 1 5 SGB_ABC
    Account 2 5
    Amount 5 5 Script=DRCRSplit_Comma_Del.uss
    I've tried writing the following script to pull the amount from the debit column into the credit column but it just skips the lines with no amount in field 5.
    'Declare Variables
    Dim Field4
    Dim Field5
    'Retrieve Data
    Field4 = DW.Utilities.fParseString(strRecord, 4, 4, ",")
    Field5 = DW.Utilities.fParseString(strRecord, 5, 5, ",")
    'If Field4 has a value then fld 5 is to equal fld 4.
    If IsNumeric(Field5) Then
    Field5 = Field5
    Else
    Field5 = Field4
    End If
    'Return Result into FDM
    SQFLD5 = Field5
    End Function
    Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks!

    I got it to work using this script:
    Function DRCR_Comma_Del(strField, strRecord)
    'Hyperion FDM DataPump Import Script:
    'Created By:     testuser
    'Date Created:     7/22/2009 9:31:15 AM
    'Purpose: If Amount is in the DR column move it to the CR amount column.
    Dim DR
    Dim CR
    DR = DW.Utilities.fParseString(strRecord, 5, 4, ",")
    CR = DW.Utilities.fParseString(strRecord, 5, 5, ",")
    If IsNumeric(DR) Then
    strField = DR
    Else
    strField = "-" & CR
    End If
    DRCR_Comma_Del = strField
    End Function

  • Import format for trial balance sheet

    Hi All,
    The source file for our FDQM app is in the below format(CSV file) consisting of 7 fields:
    ENTITY          ACCOUNT          DESCRIPTION     Opening Balance          DEBIT          CREDIT          Closing Balance
    Can you please provide inputs on how the import format should be?

    The information you need to start with is in the FDQM admin guide, or alternatively consider an FDQM training course.
    Without knowing the dimensions you plan to use, how the file contents map to each dimension, and to a lesser degree the target application, then we would need a crystal ball to try to provide any assistance on the import format.

  • Best Import format for quality and size to use on iPod and to burn

    I want to import from CD's to primarly download to iPod but also to occassionly burn a CD. I would like to be able to set import format 1 time for best results for both. If this is not possible then what would be best format for iPod (smallest/best quality) and best format for burn's (size doesn't matter, ha!ha!) but quality does.

    It all depends on your personal preferences and your ears (the quality of your hearing).
    Recalling some recent topics in this forum, I remember one person, who insisted to rip all his tracks into a full (lossless) format and another person who was happy with converting all his tracks in 48 kbps.
    As for myself, I rip all my CDs in Apple Lossless, which result in full audio quality files having about half the file sizes of AIFF and WAV (which both are uncompressed).
    Then I apply the proper tags, artwork and (sometimes) lyrics and convert them to AAC 128 kbps files for 'daily' use on the iPod, iTunes and burning on Audio CD for the car CD-player. I then store the Apple Lossless files on an external disk for archival purposes.
    In your case, if size doesn't matter, I would rip them in AIFF or Apple Lossless.
    AIFF has the advantage to be a universal format, which can be read by every application that works with audio files.
    File size comparison (average MB/minute):
    AIFF and WAV: 10 MB
    Apple Lossless: 5 MB
    AAC 128 kbps: 1 MB
    Hope this helps.

  • All Possible Import Formats for iMovie

    I was wondering if there is a complete list of import formats. I want to edit a clip using iMovie, however, the program does not recognize the file format. What is/are the possible format(s) of movie files that can be imported into iMovie for editing? Thank you!

    Hi
    No version of iMovie is a general video importing tool.
    eg You can not directly import from DVD ( iM'08 had a work around a while I THINK )
    (DVD needs mpeg-component to QuickTime Pro to be converted - or I use Roxio Toast™ to do this)
    So what kind of material do You want to Import/Capture ?
    I use
    video - miniDV tape Cameras - streamingDV - and via QuickTime Pro I can convert many formats to this as QuickTime .mov that then imports nicely into iMovie.
    audio - ONLY .aiff 16-bit 48kHz (from Camera) and 44.1 from Audio-CD (NO .mp3 or anything else - all converted to .aiff) - THIS saves a lot of troubles
    photo - .jpg (.bmp results in very red toned photos to me)
    AIC - is also a supported video-format - especially if exported to FinalCut ! as it needs much less rendering than video from iMovie (directly).
    .avi - containing Iv50 - IS NOT compatible but needs a Window PC and needs to be converted to .wmv first then to streamingDV in QT to work.
    There are Video Converting programs to buy - I have non of them.
    FinalCut is not so much better.
    So please - be more specific - there are lot's of codecs out there
    .avi, .mov, .wmv, .mp4 - ARE Containers and can contain any strange Codec. So one needs to find out what the true Codec is.

  • Import format for two amount columns in different currencies

    Hello,
    I am working on FDM 11.1.1.3 and will be getting the trial balance containing amounts in two currencies (both local and USD). I need to load data in both the currencies. The extract has two columns for the amount rather than having two different rows for different currencies. Any ideas how to define this format and how to load data. We are not using the translation logic and hence the amounts in both currencies are required.
    Thanks for your help in advance.

    Hi Tony,
    Thanks a lot for the input. Any idea, how should I go about doing this else if you have any documentation, let me know. Also, what are the cons of doing it this way over requesting the customer to get the file with amounts in different rows than in different columns

  • Convert AOL address book to Importable format for OS X MAIL

    I just looked [ using BBEdit ] at our address book from AOl, which we were using when we were using OS 9.2.2. We were using AOL v. 5.0 - which was the best that we could use with OS 9.2.2.
    With BBEdit, I could make out the person names and many of the email addresses in the AOL address book. BUT, it wasw such a "jumble" that editing the file would have been an eternity.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to transfer the info from the AOL address book to OS X v.10.4.6, etc application ADDRESS BOOK ?????
    Thanks for your help -- in advance.
    Samuel

    Address Book has an import function. Have you tried it? There are three formats, one of them text. I don't know AOL, but you should be able to at least export it to a text file.

  • Define Import format for location which is connected to database in FDMEE

    Hi,
    I have created new location in FDMEE and created BefImport script to load data from orcle to Open Interface table.
    Now, I need to import data from open interface table to FDMEE. Can any one let me know what would be the source system for it as it cannot be file and how to define mappings for the same (Are we going to define mappings the same way as we do for delimited file).
    Quick suggestions on this are highly appreciated...
    Thanks in advance

    You need to use the Open Interface Adpater to load data from the Open Interface table into FDMEE where it can be mapped as appropriate. Check out Appendix E in the FDMEE Admin guide for details on how to do this

  • Regarding Import Scenario for free goods

    Hi Sapgurus,
    the typical scenraio :-
    1) Suppose a vendor from china has send  material of A,(Quantity of 10 kg),
    For that scenario, I Have done ME21N(Import PO) and i paid the Custome duties through MIRO. i did GRN wrt to Commercial invoice number and the P.O. and then i paid the payement for import vendor.
    2) Now the vendor sends materials of A (Quantity of 2 kg as free goods). for these free goods we have to pay cutome duties and we have to take the existing p.o. for which we already paid MIRO (Custome Duties),MIGO(for P.O.) and MIRO(for which we have paid the payement).
    in SAP, when i amendment the P.O by adding the same material in other line item and flag as free of goods, then the condtion tab at item detail is dissappearing. hecne i could not give the percentage of Custome duties(CVD etc....). so that at the time of the MIRO, there is no item displaying.
    Hence Please help me with this issue.
    Thanking you
    Praveer

    Hi
    For the free item ..... dont tick free PO indicator ... put price as 0.01 or say just 1.0
    Then only u can do it ...... in MIRO enter exact custom duties .... and dont do MIRO for these free items
    Ask account people to clear it manually .... or may be even if u do MIRO for free items costing 1 RS ....still account people
    can knock off the amount

  • Source Data from OLE DB staging area to Import for FDM

    Hi ! Please help me out on Integartion of Oracle to FDM
    I want to load data into FDM directly fom Oracle database through an Integration Script.
    How to take Source Data from OLE DB staging area to Import for FDM?
    My main intension to import data for FDM from Oracle DB where there is no manual intervention and it could be safe. We are taking Actual data through Oracle Apps and keep that data into Oracle DB for further process.
    FDM can also import data from Oracle Data Base Source means I need procedure/script to import data from Oracle data base staging area where we keep some data for HFM to enter the data on monthly basis.
    OLEDB----->Import FDM-------> Export to HFM (Procedure\script without manual intervention)
    Here in OLEDB data comes cumulative from Day or week to Month basis for inputing to HFM applicaiton.(Actual)
    Regards and Thanks.

    You will want to look at the FDM Admin Guide
    Look for Integration Import Scripts
    There are a few pages that cover what you are trying to do. If you do not know VBScript it might be benefitial to tap someone who does or brush up on ADO.
    Hope this helps
