  • How can I pass multiple condition in where clause with the join table?

    Hi:
I need to collect several inputs at run time, and query the record according to the input.
How can I pass multiple conditions in where clause with the join table?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Regards,
    TD

If you are using SQL-Plus or Reports you can use lexical parameters like:
    SELECT * FROM emp &condition;
When you run the query it will ask for value of condition and you can enter what every you want. Here is a really fun query:
    SELECT &columns FROM &tables &condition;
But if you are using Forms. Then you have to change the condition by SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY.
    Best of luck!

  • MVC: Create a view which populates two (or more) joined tables in a single view table

I am beginner in MVC and I would like to create a view which populates two (or more) joined tables in a single view table as described below.
    I have two tables:
    1 - Bloggers: - bloggerID (int);
                        - bloggerName (string)
    2 - Blogs: - blogID (int);
    bloggerID (int);
                    - blogTitle (string);
                    - blogImage (string)
A blogger can have one or more blogs while one blog must be related to only one blogger.
I would like to have a view table on my webpage as the following:
    Blogger Name
    Blog Title
    Blog Image
    Noris Gang
    Virus
    virus.jpg
    Noris Gang
    Desktops
    desktop.jpg
    Gauthier
    Books

    John Leon
    NNNMHJhjdhj
    Nmbj.jpg
I'm using MVC 4 (or at least 3).
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello,
From your description, it is not very clear that what you mean about the View, if it means the View concept in database as SQL Server, your required view should be as below:
    Create view
    as
    Select Bloggers.bloggerName, Bloggers.blogTitle, Bloggers.blogImage
From Bloggers join Blogs on Bloggers.bloggerID = Blogs. bloggerID
If it means the UI view in MVC concept, I suggest you could ask it on the MVC forum:
    http://forums.asp.net/1146.aspx

  • What are the Pros and Cons while joining tables at DF and Universe level

    Hi Experts,
I am new to Data federator designer. I need help on the below.
Could you please let me know the Pros and Cons while joining the source tables in data federator
And While joining the DF target tables in universe designer.
    Regards,
    Gana

    Hi,
    1. I have created target tables based on source tables with one to one mapping and then join all target tables in universe.
Ex: Source tables: Infocube text tables, fact tables and 3rd party data base table
Target tables:Target tables are same as source tables
--- Yes this is the way to create target Tables  and join them in the universe. These target Tables gives you the flexibility  like in future your requirement is to add one more object based on some calculation which is not possible in the universe so that time you can create  one more column in the target table and do the calculation. at the same time if you are using source table you can not do anything.
    2. Created single target table with all objects of source tables and merged all sources tables data.
Ex: Source tables: Infocube text tables, fact tables and 3rd party data base table
    Target table: Single table.
--- This is bit complex structure to merge all tables data in the one target table.in this situation you have to put more efforts and it is more complex.basically this type of target table is useful when you are merging data by multiple source into single  or  creating one target table based on the  union of tables by adding two mapping rules or more and you can not join tables in universe.
Better approach is first 1. create target tables based on the source tables and join them in the universe.
    Thanks,

  • Joining table in GRC 10 Process Control

    Hi,
I am trying to create a new Data Source in GRC 10 Process Control. I need to join tables AGR_1251 (main table) and AGR_USERS. I am selecting AGR_1251 as main table. However, nothing comes up when I try to select AGR_USERS as 'Related Table'. On searching AGR_USERS , the system does not return any tables. Both are transparent tables and hence can be joined. I tried using both 'Reference Tables' as well as 'Dependent Tables' .
Can you also explain the difference between 'Reference Tables' and 'Dependent Tables'.
    Regards,

    Hi Amarnath,
tables is used to provide the table for the CURR(currency) or QUAN (quantity) fields.
In your case you want to join tables via foreign key(s) and therefore will have to use dependant tables.
The search for table AGR_USERS as dependant table for AGR_1251 will not return anything since the only table
referred as check table (for a foreign key) in AGR_1251 is AGR_DEFINES.
I would suggest to build your query based on defined check tables (see se11) of the needed tables (in this case AGR_DEFINE is the common point of both AGR_USERS & AGR_1251).
    Kind regards,
    Pascal

  • Joining tables rom HR master to documents DB?

SAP Gurus, I seek your wisdom
I'm trying to join tables in quickviewer that show the personal information of who created the doc.(particularly the names) in my purchasing doc. reports.
Is there a way to get data element ERNAM to link to USRID? Or some other method. Please help.

    Hi David,
When saving documents using ArchiveLink, the actual document is saved in the Archive server and a reference link entry is saved in the link tables within SAP Basis. The link tables used are TOA01, TOA02, TOA03 or TOAHR. When saving the documents, a unique id is generated for each document, before storing the document in the archive system. This unique id is also stored in the link tables as DOCUMENT ID.
Using ArchiveLink, you can store any kind of document like JPG, FAX, DOC, PDF...etc. Each document class would have its own size, for eg., the same file stored as JPG file would be probably of the size 150KB, but the same file when stored as BMP file would probably be of the size 2500 KB.
ArchiveLink supports various kinds of connections to the Archive Server. You can use HTTP or RFC connection to the Archive server. Alternately, you can also store the documents in an R/3 Database repository.
SAP provides SAP CONTENT SERVER which uses  HTTP type of connection. Depending on your business requirement, you can determine, what kind of documents you would mostly need to save. Once this has been determined, you can calculate how many documents you are planning to store approximately in a year. This would help you calculate the size of the server that you should be taking.
For searching documents, you can use some transactions like OAAD, OADR..etc. However, please note that ArchiveLink does not support text searches within the stored documents.
Please let me know if you should need any further information on this.
    Best Regards,
    Sindhu Sreedharan.

  • How to convert maintenance view 'v_t001k_assign' to inner join tables

    Dear friends,
I found I could not select the fields of view 'v_t001k_assign' using SQL, and I found there are some tables joined together as below:
    T001     MANDT     =     T001K     MANDT
    T001     BUKRS     =     T001K     BUKRS
    T001K     MANDT     =     TASSIGN_MM_T001W     MANDT
    T001K     BWKEY     =     TASSIGN_MM_T001W     BWKEY
    T001W     MANDT     =     TASSIGN_MM_T001W     MANDT
    T001W     WERKS     =     TASSIGN_MM_T001W     WERKS
    T001W_EXT     MANDT     =     TASSIGN_MM_T001W     MANDT
    T001W_EXT     WERKS     =     TASSIGN_MM_T001W     WERKS_EXT
So how to convert this maintenance view 'v_t001k_assign' to inner join tables for SQL selection?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
You should use the 'Search help exit' to select the data for yourself from the database. Go into the search help maintenance screen and press F1 on field 'search help exit'; follow the links. There is actually a pretty good documentation.

  • Joining tables across databases in OBIEE Physical Layer

I was facing this problem of joining tables across databases in Physical layer of OBIEE admin tool.
I had a requirement to combine two tables from 2 different databases A and B respectively. I had created one database object (OBIEE Object) in the physical layer and I had created two connection pools under that pointing to the required databases. I was able to view the data (right click on the table object --> popup menu option "View Data" ) though I had to go through the "Select connection Pool" window and select the required connection pool. I was able to join the tables and was able to complete the star schema in BMM and bring them up to the presentation layer. Conistency check was also successful. Everything went fine so far.
But when I started building the report, I started getting error whenever I chose the table which was supposed to be queried by using the second connection pool. The error message was something like "table or view does not exist at OCI call OCIStmtExecute". I assume that this was happening because the systm was not able to understand which connection pool to choose (because there were two pools defined under one database object) and by default the server was choosing the first one. If anybody is having a different opinion or definite information about this, kindly update with your reply.
I could resolve this problem after creating a separate database object with a separate connection pool defined under it, which points to the second database. Imported the required table under this database object. (Infact it was reverse. When I re-imported the table, OBIEE Admin tool, by default created its own database object and the connection pool separately for the imported table).
Once this was done then I went ahead as usual by joining the tables across these two different database objects and modelling was already done (ofcourse with a little more tweaking since the mapping had to be redone between BMM and Physical layers). Now I could build the report in the reporting layer without encountering any error.
Appreciate and welcome any further additions/updations/corrections regarding this issue(?).

  • Is it possible to place a view of joined tables into Shared Memory?

    Thanks.

    Tom,
The view of joined tables is just a possible selection method. You may select first and store all data in shared Memory. You better define a shared obkect with a read method and a buffer attribute.
The best thing you can do here is just to say what you want to do and why. It is always difficult to give a satifactory answer to an abstract question.

  • Pass Value From One Form to Another and Populate Join Table

I have a table “std_controls” and a table “actual_controls”.  The standard controls table is updated with the expected business control or process.  The actual controls table is updated with the control or business process the company actually
has in place.  These two tables may be updated at different times by different individuals.  Later I need to be able to map the actual controls to the standard controls.  I have done this before using a join query which then matched the primary
keys and populates a new table with the joined keys.  What I would like to be able to do is this:  Have a form open, “form1” (which is where the standard controls are entered).  The user could then click a button which would open another form,
“form2”, that listed all actual controls at that time from which they could choose.  The user could then select the actual control on “form2” they wanted to map to the current standard control on “form1”.  The user could select the actual control
on “form2” by selecting a check box.  The effect of this mapping would populate my join table.
I have seen other posts that describe doing something similar, but I need more help on how to actually set it up.  Thanks for your help.

    Hi jdmcleod,
According to your description, I don’t understand clearly about your requirement.
But I think you could access “form1”/”form2”’s control in either of “form1” or “form2”, so you could have a button in “form1” or “form2”, then in the click event get these forms control’s value (e.g. checkbox) and update the database.
For example to access other form’s checkbox value:
    Dim f As Form
    Set f = Forms!OtherFrom
    MsgBox f.Controls("Check11").Value

  • SAP QUERY(SQ03/02/02) - how to join tables

    Hi MM Wizards,
I would like to know how to join tables EINE & A017 through SAP Query?
    Thanks,
    Kaveri

    Hi Kaveri,
A017 is a pooled table.  SAP Query does not support joins against Pooled tables.  You should stick to transparent tables if you want to use Query.
You can do a direct read of A017, but you will just end up with a glorified SE16 display.
You could have a programmer write some ABAP and place it into the 'extras' section in SQ02 to grab the additional data that you want, but once you have decided to enlist the aid of an ABAPer, it is better just to write a custom Z program from scratch.

  • SQVI - Join tables using similar fields (but not same)

    Hi folks!
I would like to know if there is a way to do a join between two tables thru fields that are similar but not exactly the same. For example, I need to join tables EKKO and CDHDR, where the PO numbers do exist in both the tables (EKKO-EBELN and CDHDR-OBJECTID), but the fields are different. Is it possible to achieve such kind of a join?
    Appreciate your help.

unfortunately it is not enough... You have to select separately from the two tables and merge the data somehow in the program.

  • What is the better way to join table for ASE 12.5?

To join table with T-SQL, there are 2 options:
    select * from tab1 a join tab2 b on a.id = b.id where x=y
    select * from tab1a, tab2 b where a.id = b.id and x=y
this is only a syntax difference or there is a performance difference? which one is better for performance?

The first query (using the join clause) is the ANSI standard way of writing joins and is usually supported by all mainstream RDBMSs.
The second query is the T-SQL method of writing joins and may have limited re-usability with other RDBMSs.
In most cases which one you use is usually one of preference, ie, which ever one you're comfortable with.
From a technical perspective there are some join constructs that you cannot build with T-SQL joins, but can build with ANSI joins (eg, you may have problems in T-SQL with a table that you want to be both a) an inner table of an outer join and b) part of a equi/inner join).
Soooo, ANSI joins provide you a lot more flexibility in coding as well as portability (between other RDBMSs).  But if you're going to work with ASE you'll still need to understand how T-SQL joins work as you'll see quite a lot of T-SQL join-based queries.
