Regarding SMS application using jsp

Hi Friends,
I want to develop an application for sending and receiving sms from pc to mobile using jsp and servlets.I am new to it.can anyone guide me how to develop that application.
Thanks and Regards,
V.S.Ravi Kiran Balusu.

The Java Messaging Service is middleware for exchanging messages between programs and such, not text messages to cell phones.
You can send text messages to cellphones via email using carrier-specific addresses.

  • Any good books on web application using JSP/servlet?

    Does anyone know good books on how-to build enterprise web application using JSP/servlet? Aside from the book "Head First JSP/Servlet". Development using Netbeans is more preferrable.

    What about the free web server? JBoss or Glassfish or something else? I prefer web/application server that is fully compatible with JEE6 (unlike Tomcat that can't handle EJB). thanksI'm a JBoss user myself, so naturally I would advise that to you if I were ignorant. I'm not however, so in stead I'll tell you to investigate yourself and see which one you prefer. Nobody is going to tell you which one to use as there is no such thing as a 'better' or 'best' server. Just different servers each with different issues.
    And the community edition of JBoss has had many issues in the past (because Red Hat of course wants to advise you to go to the enterprise platform which ain't cheap), but JBoss 5.1 was a rock solid piece of software that I have had zero problems with (after reading the odd forum or two). JBoss 6 builds on top of JBoss 5.1 and provides the full JEE6 web profile; this means it does NOT provide a certified 'full' JEE6 stack yet. This means nothing however as all the services you may need in an enterprise application are already there.
    BTW: for simple servlet programming, don't neglect Apache Tomcat. Its a lightweight server that just works.

  • WAP APPLICATION USING JSP ---- PROBLEMS

    hello people,
    I am having challenges with a wap application i am developing.
    my problem is not writing the program, its deploying and testing it.
    i have deployed the application on our webserver and when i tested it the wap pages with *.jsp extensions refused to come up, they kept returning messages like " unknown format message" , "time out" e.t.c.
    but when i tried it with the pages with *.wml extensions they came up.
    I have set the mime types but this is still not helping issues.
    pls guys any help will be highly appreciated.

    I don't know what you're asking here. From my experience (with struts), if you put your JSP pages in or beyond the WEB-INFO directory, it's not allowed. You should put your JSP pages better in your web application root or another directory after the root but out of the WEB-INFO directory

  • How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application witth just a JRE [Web Application, WAR, JSP, weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds and JRE]

              How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application (either a .war file or a war directory structure) without a java compiler?
              I suspect either the JSP specification is flawed (i.e. it doesn't take account of servers using just a JRE), or BEA's implementation is broken.
              Production servers do not have a JDK installed. They only have a JRE. Therfore a java compiler is not present on the machine that the Web Application is deployed onto.
              On the development machine, when the server is requested to load the JSP it creates a tmpwar directory within the Web Application directory structure. This is then included in the resultant .war file thus:
              D:\war>jar -tf gmi.war
              META-INF/
              META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
              gmiService.jsp
              WEB-INF/
              WEB-INF/classes/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/gmiService.class
              WEB-INF/getList.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrict.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrictConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/lib/
              WEB-INF/source/
              WEB-INF/source/build.bat
              WEB-INF/source/gmiService.java
              WEB-INF/web.xml
              WEB-INF/weblogic.xml
              tmpwar/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.class
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.java
              When deployed on the production server with the web.xml file set to use the following values (note XML stripped):
              weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds
              -1
              weblogic.jsp.precompile
              false
              weblogic.jsp.compileCommand
              javac
              weblogic.jsp.verbose
              true
              weblogic.jsp.packagePrefix
              jsp_servlet
              weblogic.jsp.keepgenerated
              false
              And in the weblogic.properties file:
              weblogic.httpd.webApp.gmi=war/gmi
              I've also tried with the .war file, but that insists on creating another tmpwar directory outside of the .war file.
              Then, although I have set pageCheckSeconds to -1 (don't check and don't recompile) ter production server still attempts to recompile the JSP's:
              Mon Sep 25 11:40:11 BST 2000:<I> <WebAppServletContext-gmi> *.jsp: init

    The default Java compiler from sun lives in the tools.jar that comes with
              the JDK. Just add that to your set of JARs which are deployed in production
              and you should be fine. No need to install the full JDK - just make the
              tools.jar available to WebLogic.

  • How to use debug my jdevloper devloped jsp applications using tomcat 4.0?

    hello,
    how to use debug my jdevloper devloped jsp applications using tomcat 4.0?
    how to run with using tomcat path with browser?
    can any one help?
    thanks
    pullareddy

    Hi Pullareddy,
    Charles' answer will work for Servlets in Tomcat, but debugging JSPs is a bit more complicated than debugging Servlets.
    Here's what you need to do:
    (I don't have Tomcat, so I don't know the details of Tomcat configuration files and I can't guarentee that Tomcat provides the flexibility so that you can configure it for debugging JSPs. Each application server is configured a bit differently. Hopefully you can adjust the following instructions to Tomcat.)
    1. You need to replace Tomcat's JSP engine with OJSP and you need to setup debugging parameters for OJSP.
    This is not specifically in the JDev documentation, but you may be able to apply the information found in the topic "Remote Debugging in OC4J".
    Here are some tips:
    A. You'll probably need to specify the following jars in some Tomcat config file: ojsp.jar, ojsputil.jar, xmlparserv2.jar, ojc.jar, and jdev-rt.jar.
    B. The OJSP class name is oracle.jsp.runtimev2.JspServlet.
    C. The debug parameters are:
    debug_mode = true
    developer_mode = true
    encode_to_java = true
    emit_debuginfo = true
    jspjavacompiler = oracle.jdevimpl.jsp.JspOjcCompiler
    2. You need to make Tomcat start the Java command with debugging options. (This is what Charles was talking about. One of the debug options is -XXdebug). This is in the JDev documentation in the topic "Starting a Java Process in Debug Mode". Please read that documentation help topic.
    3. You need to delete any old .java or .class files which were created in the past for your JSP. If you leave old .java or .class files around, then the debugger may not be able to stop at breakpoints in your JSPs. So, be sure to clean up old files.
    4. Set your project settings for remote debugging. This is on the Debugger - Remote panel in the Project Settings dialog box. You probably want either Attach to OJVM or Attach to JPDA. Which radio button you choose depends on what command line options you specified in step 2.

  • Problem in navigation of portletized JSf application using ADF on portal

    Hi All,
    I am implementing a simple scenario wherein i have an ADF Business Component (a simple drop down) and a command button. On click of the button, there is a navigation from one jsp to another.
    I am able to portletize a simple application using ADF Business Component.It runs fine when run on local.
    But when i put it on portal, navigation does not work.the control is not transferred to the method of backing bean.It is not showing loggers either.
    jdev version :10.1.3.3
    oracle portal :10.1.4
    Standalone OC4j : 10.1.3
    If any one has working model of this, can you pls post the files used.
    Also , if anyone has work around for same, it will be helpful.Thanks.

  • Dynamic select using jsp?

    grrrrr............ok so I'm kinda new to this, and just a little frustrated. I'm gonna ramble here, so any time I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about it 's because I don't..correct me. I want to include a bean in a jsp which will buil d a dynamic select box on the fly. That is, connect to an LDAP db and place each value returned in the query in a select box. Now, I can compile and run the bean in my IDE and watch the output in the console. It's correct because I see "<select><option value = hall>hall....</select>". In the buildSelectBox() method I'm using System.out.println to display each line of my select box (is that right?). Now, when I copy the .class file over to the server I was initially getting an error because the bean wasn't found. I resolved that by properly compiling the bean in a package. Problem is that if I call the bean.buildSelect() method in the .jsp nothing comes back. The page is left blank. What in the world is that about? Can someone push me toward a tutorial that can push me in the right direction or sumthin? Why am I having so much trouble with this? Should I be building the select on the jsp?
    regards,
    mat

    Hi!
    If i understand you correctly :-) you are doing not very right things. I don't want it to seem like I'm going to teach you, but:
    The Bean that has buildSelect() method is not a bean at all. Usualy Beans contain getter/setters and accumulate data. If you want to build html code dynamicaly then you should use servlets(Which is not very flexible in your situation, I think), not JSPs. And if you are using JSPs then you have to make Tag which will do this everything.
    Other way is to use Struts framework which is very good and flexible for building web applications - it has it's own tags for many cases. You can make loops in JSPs, use beans and all that stuff.
    Guys will correct me if I missed something.
    Good luck

  • Using Jsp to create a crystal report

    Hi,
    I am using Jsp to create a crystal report from an oracle database.To create a new report document,i am using the ReportClientDocument class in the
    "com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ReportClientDocument " package.
    I am using this code:
        ReportClientDocument rpt=new ReportClientDocument ();
                       rpt.newDocument();The report application server running on my machine does not support this.
    I have to use an IReportAppFactory interface method which is part of the package com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.managedreports.*,, in order to create a new report document.Can anbody help be know how to use this interface in a Jsp??
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    <p>Hi Tim,</p><p>      For security reasons we do not save the database password with the report. So it is not good practise to write the scriplet code in JSP page. Absolutely right.
    Is there any other way to call the webservice server application in my client(JSP) page?
    What is it that you want to do? If despite all you have said, you still wish to call the webservice from a jsp, read my response above.
    You would do well to rephrase your question if there's something else that you are asking.
