Regarding String array
I have a input string in this format
1 Aviation Lamp 1 Nos 3700 3,7002 Lighting Arrester 1 Nos 1600' 1,6003 Aviataion Lamp Cable 31 Rmt ' 270 8,370
I can able to display the 3,700 1,600 8,370 these values i want to store in a String array for this i have written code in this way but unable to succeed
Code:
String sub="1 Aviation Lamp 1 Nos 3700 3,7002 Lighting Arrester 1 Nos 1600' 1,6003 Aviataion Lamp Cable 31 Rmt ' 270 8,370";
i=3;
Matcher tdata = Pattern.compile(("\\d*,\\d{3}"), Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE).matcher(sub);//Matching is performed using regular expression here
while (tdata.find()) {
for (int ij = 0; ij < i; ij++) {
table[ij] = tdata.group();
System.out.println(" Result "+tdata.group());//trying to load values in string array
System.out.println(" "+tdata.group());
for (int ik = 0; ik < 3; ik++) {
System.out.println(" output " + table[ik]);//Displaying only 8,370.
Any suggestions please welcome
Praveen
Hi Praveen
Matcher tdata = Pattern.compile(("\\d*,d{3}"), Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE).matcher(sub);
From above statement of your code, if u see u have Pattern Object which contain regular expression of
one digit followed by comma and exactly three digits.
Than your trying to match your string sub with the above regular expression so this wont match,
you can confirm by using method tdata.matches() , this method returns true if it matches false if it don't.
you can use the following code to make your stuff work
String sub = "1 Aviation Lamp 1 Nos 3700 3,7002 Lighting Arrester 1 Nos 1600' 1,6003 Aviataion Lamp"
+ "Cable 31 Rmt ' 270 8,370";
String []SplitSub = sub.split("\\s");
Pattern p = Pattern.compile("\\d,\\d{3,}", Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE);
int ij =0;
String table[] = new String[SplitSub.length];
if(SplitSub.length > 1)
for(int i =0; i < SplitSub.length ; i++)
Matcher m = p.matcher(SplitSub);
if(m.matches())
table[ij++] = SplitSub[i].substring(0,5);
System.out.println(" Result " + SplitSub[i].substring(0,5));

i guess i attached the wrong picture.
i currently have this.
I read from a spreadsheet.
and analysis certain row and column, then do calculation and write the results to a new spreadsheet.
it is working fine.
but as an option. i wanted to "read all the data from the spreadsheet as the previous image" and then write those data to the same new spreadsheet file but in a different worksheet.

Help! Inserting a 1-D comment array into a 2-D string array at specified row AND column
Hello everyone,
I am writing a 2-D string array to excel and i need a way to add comments to my file like this:
SLAM NAME G Level Comments
1 RALF 26
1 RALF 26
1 RALF 26
1 RALF 26
For some reason, i cannot specify a row AND column to write because:
When i use replace array subset it only replaces 1 element at my index.
When i use replace array subset with a loop, it creates empty spaces until it reaches the end of the array it is replacing.
When i use Insert into array: i cannot wire 2 inputs for row and column.
In my complete VI i will need to write from row 1-1001, a different comment from 2-2002, a different comment from 3-3003, etc until a stop condition is met so i need to figure out how to do this programatically and not have it replace any elements outside of the range or it will override previous commetns.
I am at a loss of what to do. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

External java function that should return String array
Hi everyone,
I have a split function in plsql that takes 10 times longer a java tokenizer function that i was written. So, i want to use java external function to split my plsql strings into pieces.
I can write a java external procedure that returns types like int, float and String types. I have no problem about it.
My problem is returning an array of strings. I found a book that has an example about how can we get directory list in plsql with java external procedure.
(code)
import java.io.File;
import java.sql.*;
import oracle.sql.*;
import oracle.jdbc.*;
public class JFile {
public static oracle.sql.ARRAY dirlist (String dir)
throws java.sql.SQLException
Connection conn = new OracleDriver().defaultConnection( );
ArrayDescriptor arraydesc =
ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor ("DIRLIST_T", conn);
File myDir = new File (dir);
String[] filesList = myDir.list( );
ARRAY dirArray = new ARRAY(arraydesc, conn, filesList);
return dirArray;
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION dirlist (dir IN VARCHAR2)
RETURN dirlist_t
AS
LANGUAGE JAVA
NAME 'myFile.dirlist(java.lang.String) return oracle.sql.ARRARY';
(code)
I could compile this source file in localhost but not remotehost. There are jar files ( import oracle.sql.*; import oracle.jdbc.*; ) that should be added to remote classpath. ( others have already added java classpath ). But, which classpath i should add? Oracle has own JVM and Classpath, probably i should upload these jar files to oracle classpath. Am i wrong? How can i do? Can you explain in detail? How can i return string array from java external function in Oracle ?
I am using Oracle 11.1.0.7 on Solaris Sparc Machine.Hi,
What do you mean "compile in remote host"
Aren't you using the loadjava tool? - that should be enough, the RDBMS already "has" the jars needed.

Hello everybody,
if I have a string array of say 10 elements, how would I go about shifting those elements to the right or left by one place, ensuring that what had shifted off either end of the array would "wrap around" to the other end of the array?
Thank you for your help in this.
regards,
THE_TH1NGYou could use Arrays.asList() to wrap your array in a list.
To rotate to the right, remove the last element of the list, and add it to the front of the list.
To rotate to the left remove the first element, and add it to the end.
The changes made via the list are written through to the original array you had.
Alternatively write a couple of methods that will do it by hand.
1) store a reference to the array element that will wrap.
2) loop through the elements in the array, copying them into the next element up/down as appropriate.
3) put the stored element back at the start/end of the array as appropriate. -

Use usercontrol with label and checkbox is reasonable for a datagrid control if you don't want to have too much code for those radio buttons. So I agree with andy here with that usercontrol.
So is it required that your radiobutton should be outside the datagrid?
Anyway, I think you already know that you can bind data to columns yourself. So please check the following thread:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22922533/how-do-i-automagically-bind-a-string-array-to-a-wpf-datagrid
<DataGrid Name="_dataGrid" Grid.Row="0" AutoGenerateColumns="False">
<DataGrid.Columns>
<DataGridTextColumn Header="Column 1" Binding="{Binding [0]}"/>
<DataGridTextColumn Header="Column 2" Binding="{Binding [1]}"/>
</DataGrid.Columns>
</DataGrid>
Or define the columns from code, in case you have dynamic number of columns, for example :
string[][] array = fs.CSVToStringArray();
for (int i = 0; i < array[0].Length; i++)
var col = new DataGridTextColumn();
col.Header = "Column " + i;
col.Binding = new Binding(string.Format("[{0}]", i));
_dataGrid.Columns.Add(col);
this.ExternalData._dataGrid.ItemsSource = array;
And for Radio button part, please see here:

Two dimension string array in teststand
Hello,
I want to pass a two dimension string array from a labWindows dll into Teststand. My labwindows dll:
#define NR_columns 12
#define NR_rows 1200
#define NR_hight 1024
int__declspec(dllexport) __stdcall sort( char pspec[NR_columns][NR_rows][NR_hight])
The call of the dll in teststand looks like the attached picture in the doc file.
and I got the error message which shows the attached second picture in the doc file
what is the problem?

Error1.doc 94 KBHello Samuel,
I'm not experienced in LabWindows but I think the reason for this Error is the dimension of FileGlobals.loadspec in TestStand. The Error Dialog displays for this String Array [0..11][0..1200]. That's an array of 12 and 1201 elements but function is expecting 12 and 1200 elements.
I hope this helps.

I need to make a dynamic string array.
Deeper explanation:
I am trying to use a FOR loop to send a series of commands to an 8-channel device. Each channel requires 7 (actually, 1/2 need only 5, the other 1/2 need 7) strings to set them up and the entire sequence needs to be performed 8 times. I started a test .vi by simply using a constant array of type sting. I can sequentially pick each string and program my device perfectly. Now I'd like to do things like add the channel # somewhere in the mix, use variable values based on other controls in my .vi to set the parameters of the channel.
EXAMPLE:
The user sets certain values that determine delays and width for an 8-channel DDG (Digital Delay Generator, to some, a pulse generator). These values then need to be loaded into the DDG. The Strings will look something like this:
ULSE1TATE 1
ULSE1:WIDTH 0.009 000 *NOTEpaces behind decimal are for better viewability only
ULSE1ELAY 0.000 000
ULSE1YNC T0
ULSE1:CMODE DUTY
ULSE1COUNTER 1
ULSE1:BCOUNTER 1
ULSE2TATE 1
ULSE2:WIDTH 0.000 300
ULSE2ELAY 0.008 700
ULSE2YNC T0
ULSE2:CMODE NORMAL
So widith and delay params change, the pulse# changes, and whether it's on certain channels decides if the mode is duty or normal and duty comes with the subsequent params pcount and bcount.
help?
PS - I am going to move the state, sync, and cmode to a common, initialize loop run only at program start, but I still need to use width, delay, and (variably) pcount and bcount.
PPS - I am trying to edit post to diable smilies. Commands should read:"colon, P (or D)" not ,
PPPS - Success, at least for me. I disabled smilies in my settings, I don't know if that means my posts won't show smilies or if just what I am looking at won't show smilies, any responders let me know how it's showing for you.

Auto-indexing is one of the more powerful features of LabVIEW. If you're familiar with text-based languages it's equivalent to the "foreach" statement. Basically it allows you to wire an array into a for-loop and the size of the array tells LabVIEW how many times the loop needs to execute. Inside the loop LabVIEW peels of each element of the array in order for each iteration of the loop. Looks like this:
My comment regarding not needing the sequence frame was related to using the error cluster since that wire would allow you enforce data dependency like so:
Note that the VISA resource wire does the same thing.
"I got a little aggravated at how NI seemed to handle the loops in those two frames concurrently". That's because LabVIEW is a data-flow language, and not a sequenced language like C or VB. In fact, that's one of the things that makes LabVIEW so powerful.

MAN! I KNEW that!!!! GGRRRRR!!! That makes sense. Actually that's WHY I connected the error lines in the first place was to aide in flow control. OH!!! Still getting used to LabVIEW.
But I still have a question related to flow control. Check out the pic below. LabVIEW runs everything in a seemingly random order... well at least where it STARTS each chain of data. It obviously starts with the static constants or the earliest data in each chain, but I can't figure out how in the world it's deciding WHICH chain to start first. It kind of seems to go with the lower right and work it's way to top-left, but it doesn't exactly do that either. I dunno if it's worth you answering this concern or not, but if you got one for me I'd be much obliged.
I should take a LabVIEW class! Yeah right, as if they'd let me... R&D means I won't need it tomorrow ;( which stinks cause I'm liking LabVIEW the more I learn it. (I was not fond of it in the beginning, but that was my stubborness).
thanks again so much for all your help!!!!
Also, I am using all those strings to make my display appear as I want it to... I wonder if there is another way? I am aware of system labels, but I like the look of the recessed, grayed control boxes better.

How do I make an array of String Arrays, not knowing how big the array will be
or how big any of the arrays it contains will be at the time I create it?The size of an array is not dynamic, i.e. if you use an array, you must know its size at the time you create it.
Use one of the collection classes (like java.util.Vector or one of the implementation classes of java.util.List).

Hi,
This is probably a simple problem, but I have a csv file with string values in one column and numbers in another. For example:
Volume, 6
Diameter, 5
But much larger of a file.
I would like to be able to read the first column in and come up with an array of just the strings. I have tried using the Read Text from file into the Spreadsheet string to Array into the Index Array functions, but I cannot seem to get this string array to work out, as it just comes up with 0's for any text.
If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You!!

you have to convert to an array of strings! Then you will receive your first column as text data...

System.out.println(rs.getString(rows));
listTitle=rs.getString(rows);
when control coming to
listTitle[i]=rs.getString(rows);
it is giving some error like :::: No data found.
how to solve this any one??Hi,
U r trying to get the value two times. To avoid this store the value in variable, then manipulate.
Try this,
String[ ] listTitle;
String temp;
rs.next();
for(int i;i<8;i++)
rows="F"+i;
temp = rs.getString(rows);
System.out.println(temp);
listTitle =temp;
