Register a java file in apps

Hi,
I need to call a java file when i click on the function(responsibility-->menu-->function) in EBS.
How?
Best Regards,
Palepu

Hi,
You have any oaframework page and from the link you want to call this java file,
or directly from the menu - function you want to call the java file.
In APPS normally there will not be any direct call to java file(.class), it will be called inside a OAFramework page file (click a link or button or inside some validation process)
or have a simple .jsp file and import the java file and use it in that .jsp file.
For the defn of .jsp file you can run the below query and get sample function defns.
select function_name, web_html_call from fnd_form_functions
where web_html_call like '%.jsp%' and web_html_call not like '%OA.jsp%'
Thanks,
With regards,
Kali.

  • Jar/ java files in APPs

    Hi,
    Could anybody explain me where (in which directories) jar/ java files are situated in APPs and which is the difference between the jar files situated in COMMON_TOP and APPL_TOP ?
    Thanks,
    Paul

    sorry, maybe i didn't state this clearly enough. basically, i have sets of libraries: app server library and middle-tier client libraries these are installed with each client machine and need to be updated accordingly with the libraries resided in the weblogic app server. now, the way i update these libraries is to uninstall/reinstall the client app each time. i am looking for ways to update in 1 place, ideally in the weblogic app server, then each time the client app starts, it will be notifed of these updates and maybe download these updates from the app server automatically...This will save me the hassle to uninstall/reinstall the client app each time, even small changes in the interfaces...

  • How to compile and register a Java CFX tag with multiple class files?

    All-
    If this is the wrong forum for CFX questions, please let me
    know.
    I need to determine how to compile and register a Java CFX
    tag that contains multiple class files. One class file implements
    the CustomTag interface and the other class files implement various
    supporting classes. All of the documentation that I have found
    talks about using a single class file. I am assuming that a JAR
    file will be involved, but I am not sure of the specifics.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    -Josh

    Yes, it will involve a jar. Use your java IDE (eclipse,
    etcetera ..) to create a jar containing all of the classes. Check
    your ide's documentation for how to create jar files. After you
    have created the jar, place the jar in the CF class path so CF will
    recognize it. For example the {cf_root}/WEB-INF/lib directory. CF
    must be restarted before it will detect the new jar. After
    restarting CF, register the CFX tag in the ColdFusion Administrator
    using the name of the class that implements the CustomTag
    interface.
    Though it is worth noting you can also instantiate java
    classes directly from ColdFusion (ie without using a CFX
    tag).

  • Obtaining a *.java file from Oracle Apps 11i

    Hi,
    I am working on customizing an existing Oracle Apps page. For this purpose I would need some of the seeded java files (not class files) provided by Oracle Apps. Is there any place on the application server or some other place from where I can get these?
    Thanks,
    Sangita

    Avoid modifying the std code, extend std.
    If you still want to modify std, do it thru' JDeveloper, Open the Business component, double click on the component to open the Object Editor, navigate to Java, check generate Java File options and then click OK , JDeveloper will automatically create it for you. This will save you the step of adding the new file onto JDev. You can then simply decompile the standard class file, copy the code onto the JDev-created java files and start modifying.

    19 errors

    Hi Guarav,
    There was initial customization done by Oracle consulting some years back. Recently users have discovered a bug in the functionality. Oracle consulting have left .java files behind. We are trying to add few lines of debug code (printing variables and info) and trying to compile the .java file and we are getting above said errors.
    Please advice whether there is any better approach of dealing with the situation.

    In any case, the dtd is incorrect and that may be why. The element structure is at least look like this.
    <!ELEMENT labels (label*)>
    <!ELEMENT label (CUSTOMER_NAME?, HEADER_ID, ORDERED_ITEM, P_INVOICES*)>
    <!ELEMENT P_INVOICES (variable, variable, variable)>If you want to keep some flexibility on variable's cardinality, you can simply it like this.
    <!ELEMENT labels (label*)>
    <!ELEMENT label (CUSTOMER_NAME?, HEADER_ID, ORDERED_ITEM, P_INVOICES*)>
    <!ELEMENT P_INVOICES (variable+)>Then you add the appropriate ATTLIST for the elements.

  • Deleted Java files, now no app opens on iMac

    I was running Mavericks on my iMac and a Java update wouldn't allow me to open certain programs. I then deleted all of my Java files from "user/library/...", restarted my computer and now all I get are error messages whenever I try to open an application, including finder. Is the only way to fix this to take it to a repair centre? WIll I lose all data or will they be able to save it if I give them a hard drive with the computer?
    Thank you

    What are the error messages, and what backups do you have?

  • How to customize a seeded stanadrd report registered as java program

    Hi
    I am using oracle apps r12.1.2.
    Here i have a requirement to customize a report Ie (i need to take a copy of a report and after that i need to add two parameter to that report).
    I have Copied the report and i have added two parameter to that report. Now this program is registered as java concurrent program. When i ran the program i didnt get any output. The concurrent finished with normal.
    Can any one pls tell me the steps to customize or where i need to change the things in java concurrent program to get the output.
    I have used the same executable ''XDODTEXE'' but with different shortname so in some where i need to change.
    Can any one pls guide me the steps to do.
    Thanks & Regards
    Srikkanth

    Hi Sir,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I have seen the docs as you mentioned.
    My doubt is if we customize Java concurrent program means we need to modify class file to refer our short name i think so.
    so can you pls tell me what are the changes or what to do when we copy a standard java concurrent program.
    In the documents i can't able to find where the Main class file path of the Java concurrent program.
    My standard JAVA CP Executable file name is "JCP4XDODataEngine" I have seen the class file but there is no short name of the concurrent is referred. Can you pls tell me where i can get the class file that used to call or declare the parameter list and cp short name.

  • Can not see the design view nor the java file in CentOS

    Hi all. I've recently installed JSC2 in CentOS. I find this tool really useful. But I have a problem with the design view and the java file view. At the beginning, when I first create a Page1.jsp, I can see the design view and the java view with no problem. I run apps correctly. But after a while, I get a "null pointer exception" error and I am able to see only the jsp view, not the others. I don't even have the option to see the Design and Java views. And the page icon in the project window appears to be darker than a well working page. I'm not really sure what sequence of actions I do to get this error, it just suddenly happens. What I've done so far in JSC2 is to link to pages in the Page Navigation view. It works fine for a while, but after a while I get the error I've described.

    Yes, if I do that It happens the same. I've tried everything. Now I'm using Window$ 2000 and it works properly. Thanks anyway.

  • Some videos are semi-missing - they do not show up in File Manager apps or another app

    I have what I will call three FILER apps: File Browser, Air Browser and File Commander.  I also have MovieSRTPlayer.  Those apps appear to not register the presence of some video files that I have definitely copied to my PB.  The MovieSRTPlayer will overlay a .srt file's text over a video allowing the pb to show subtitles.  It works as long as it can find the video and srt files.
    I am definitely transferring a series of video files to the pb's video folder.  I am also transferring a companion file to that folder.  The companion file is a subtitle file in the form of an .SRT file.
    THREE file manager type apps do NOT show those files as present in the video folder.  The Video app itself does show and play those video files.
    I have copied the files using both wifi-sharing and when they did not show up that way, I copied them using the usb cable to the pb's Z: drive and the video folder.
    As stated the dam! files play in the video app.  But they do not appear in the various filer apps.  And they also do not show in another app, one that will display the subtitle (.srt file) file overlaying the video.  In all instances it is as if the pb does not register the presence of those files on the pb.
    Now, what is interesting is that when this first cropped up, 7 files were missing - just a mix of video (no .srt files involved).  That is they showed in the video app and played but the filer programs did not show them.  I managed last night and this morning to get 7 of those to finally show by copying/moving/deleting and recopying.  But now I'm running into this brick wall again.  I have repeatedly copied two video (avi files) and their companion .srt files to the video folder.  They are in that folder (I've looked using usb and wifi-sharing) and they play in the PB's video app.  They are most certainly on my pb.
    Oh, and yes, I've rebooted a number of times.
    Ideas?

    I have what I call 3 file manager apps.  File Browser, Air Browser and File Commander (the older free version).
    They all show or don't show the same thing.  So files are missing.  And SIZE is not the sole determining factor.  When I was testing MovieSRT and "lost" some files I copied and renamed avi and .srt files.  So there are two extra .srt files in the Video folder.  But while they are 32kb (kilobytes) and 58kb respectively, they do NOT show up in the File managers.  The other two identical files with the names matching the .avi files do show up.  The one very large mp4 (2gb) does not show up.  A subfolder I created just as a test does not show up.  But the large mp4 and subfolder were showing up while I was actively copying the 2gb file - they would show up as the file was being copied - the filemanagers showed the file getting larger and larger and while doing so the "missing" subfolder also kept showing up.  Then once the large file was completely copied, both it and the subfolder "disappeared" - again, the large mp4 does show in the Video app and it plays.
    My persistence probably is based on the fact I was a computer programmer many eons ago!  Also, I was trying to get YOUR app to work and the avi files were not showing up in your listing but they were showing and playing in Video app (but no subtitles).  Finally, after copying/moving/re-copying over and over including moving and copying to the PB's Print folder (just since it was empty) and copying it back to the video folder (now 2 copies), the files would finally show up.  Peculiar - yup!
    Oh, one other thing - the 3 file managers all show what I will call the virtual Playbook-Demo video in their listings - your app does NOT show it.  Obviously, it is not located in the Video Folder but somewhere in the bowels of the PB.  So, the filemanagers  are relying on some "file structure" that is not fully correct.  But your app does not appear to show it.

    it should be name=abc.xml dont enclise in quotes...

  • Calling a method from another Java file.

    I think I'm doing this right, but I'm obviously going wrong somewhere.
    In order to not have one big long java file, I've created one main one to execute the program, and another to do some of the functions. I'm using eclipse, btw.
    In the main file, I have
    currentTB = getActiveTB(playerArea);If it works, it should get send the player area variable to the getActiveTB method, and store the value it returns in the currentTB variable, right?
    In the other file, I have;
    package scenes;
    public class sceneIndex {
         private TerrainBlock getActiveTB(String areaCode) {
              TerrainBlock tBlock = new TerrainBlock();
                     **DOES STUFF**
              return tBlock;
    }I have it set up so the second file is in the source folder "resources" and the package "scenes." The problem is I'm not calling it properly. I'm missing something simple, I think. The only error I'm getting is;
    The method getActiveTB(String) is undefined...
    Where am I screwing up?
    EDIT: Yeah, I'm a rookie here trying to figure it out on my own. My computer science courses, so far, conveniently all consist of just one big java file. Easier to write, sure, but not very efficient/organized.

    Yeah, so this is still pissing me off. I'm not sure what else to do. I've tried this a million different ways, in both eclipse and netbeans. Whatever. Here's the code, I'd love it if someone could point out the boneheaded mistake I'm making. I'm getting a little frustrated at being stuck on such a simple problem.

    }Again, I've tried this a few different ways, and I either get a "Could Not Find Symbol" error referring to the getActiveTB(playerArea); in Main, or it just says java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: and Exception in thread "main".
    Whatever.

    Hi,
    You need to add librabry for j2ee-1.4.jar in your classpath this can be found under JSP Runtime library in your jdevhome\jdevbin folder.
