Registry fix for transcoding/importing fix Causes Media Pending Error

There is a fix for the never ending importing problem in Encore CS3 mentioned in the FAQ section, but it creates another problem: It prevents motion menu templates from loading. I waited an hour for a menu template to load and finally cancelled it and saw that the menu buttons were there, but the background video was "Media Pending".
Also, the registry fix causes all HDV projects in Premiere Pro CS3 to lose their video to "Media Pending" screens.
This is not a useable fix.
Is there a better solution that doesn't break all the .m2v importing?

The .m2v importing isn't broken. The files have to be re-indexed, that is all.
There are a lot of video files to be indexed in the Encore Library.

I have the same problem except almost every song I bought from Itunes has this problem. Not only that, but somehow some of the music, about $125 worth has been deleted form my 3 back up discs. This is only happening with my purchases and not any songs I uploaded from cd. How on earth did this happen, and how did it wipe clean 3 different back ups? I have found some of the music where it belongs, but like I said some of them are gone, gone, gone. I run three different back ups and they are on 24/7. Where is all of this music? I still have it on my ipod, but it will not load back into itunes the way purchases used to. Some of the music is purchased straight to my ipod touch, but shouldn't i be able to reload them into itunes? I spent 3 hours going 1 song at a time reloading them from their original location. But I cannot locate about $125 worth of music that I purchased from itunes. I have 6 macs in my family and preach the good news to all who will listen about hows macs are flawless. Now I have egg all over my face and have thrown away a nice sum of money on missing music. Please help!

Premiere 7.1 Media Pending Error

I'm editing some Sony F55 RAW footage but Premiere Pro keeps showing me Media Pending error.
I've already edited a project with F55 files and didn't had a single issue.
My system is an iMac with i7, 32GB ram, external Promise Pegasus R6 (RAID5) with footage and cache files on it.
Tried to move the cache to the internal SSD but nothing changed.
Is that a Premiere Pro bug?

If you have this issue, follow these instructions:
(Replace ImportFastMPEG.prm to 7.0.1 version)
1. Download Adobe Premiere Pro CC 7.0.1 update.

Css fixes for IE not fixing

I have a webpage which appears ok in Firefox and Safari but
fails to format correctly in IE.

I looked at the code generated and found that DW has inserted
css fixes for IE but these do not seem to work.
Any clues as to what I should do?

This method works with simple layouts. The Behavior url thing needs to go inside an IE Conditional Comment to target Pre-IE9 browsers.
Also, I prefer to apply this to a Div ID as this carries more weight than .classes alone.

Importing MPG files - media pending?

Hi Guys,
Have only just started using PE11 and have editted some footage from my Gopro ( mp4 files ) and my Intova ( mov files ) with ease. I just tried to edit some of my older footage take around two years ago from a digital video camera which have mpg files and are unable to import them into premier elements.
They appear in the timeline showing the correct file duration but the media display shows 'Media Pending' in several different languages. There also isn't any audio. I have tried waiting 30 minutes without any change. My computer was able to load the previous file types which were considerably larger instantly.
I have the mpg files in my docs same as the other files. I'm able to play the mpg videos with media player on my computer without any problems. Is there anyway of being able to import these into premier elements 11. I have quite alot of this footage I want to edit which was I bought this program in the first place? A solution to this would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Your mention of two copies of each file caught my curiosity.
Is the .mpg of the two that same exact footage as the one with the .tod file extension?
What are the properties of each?
Is the MediaInfo properties readout the same for both?

Bug + fix for csv import!

hello all,
duh, just tried again to import a csv file into address book. still nothing happens. still the console prints:
Address Book[3282] * -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil key
incredible. this bug has been around for at least 2 years and it's still not fixed. very annoying + embarrassing!
if someone happens to know an address book developer at apple, please tell him/her to add the line
if(theKey != nil)
before the setObject call to the NSCFDictionary object. it's that easy!

Any fix for MacPro Fan problem caused by the last firmware update?

My macPro's fans have been going balistic on restart from sleep mode ever since I loaded that last firmware update that was supposed to address the MacPro fan control.
Any word on a fix... Is this overspeed damaging my hardware?

It is a bug in the firmware update because my MacPro never acted this way before the update was loaded...
Many have reported the problem... and some have not experienced it... Go figure.
Logic says this is not a bug. A bug with the firmware update would be universally felt, no exceptions. Firmware doesn't change its format out of the blue when it chooses to. What it does say is there are some Mac Pros that for whatever reason are not getting sufficient cooling in their position on the desk/floor, or the climate they are being used in. Since Apple does not publish the temperature limits internally for its machine, the best thing is to report this problem to AppleCare, even if the hardware test comes out negative.

When is there going to be a fix for the terrible coverage cause by KitKat?

I've had my Note 3 since release, and it wasn't until KitKat that my phone "mysteriously" started dropping calls left and right. I've done everything that has been recommended: factory reset, new sim card, etc... Months have gone by since the update, hundreds of topics made, and Verizon just sits there with their thumbs where the sun doesn't shine. The coverage issues cause by the update are UNACCEPTABLE! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
I'm going to let T-Mobile buy out my contract pretty soon since the only reason I'm with Verizon is the better coverage that I'm not even getting anymore.

I am experiencing basically the same problems with my S$. Starting to think it's either a bad phone (Feb 2014) or a Samsung issue. I basically need to be around a tower in the open to get a decent signal. I took it to the local Verizon store and they removed some programs. That didn't work. They switched out the sim card last night and again I am sitting here in my office without any signal. When I do get a signal, it only last about 30 seconds. Other Verizon phones worked around me, even Sprint and AT&T phones (believe it or not) are working but not mine. Have to keep it plugged in because it's constantly searching for a signal which is draining the battery. I had a Iphone 5 before this piece of **** and I regret giving my Iphone away.
Is this a software issue or is it a bad phone? Thank God, I don't do much talking on it because the calls continue to drop.

Am I the only one with this problem? And is there a fix for this? What causes it to happen? More details in the description. Thanks!

Hi, I have an iPhone 5s, sometimes when I'm using an app(game) I am unable to quit the app.
The funny thing is: the app is still working fine, doesn't hang and I can still interact with it, but I just can't quit it or access multitasking( be it using home button or assistive touch)
and
I'll have to force shut down the whole phone(lock and he button together), which I dislike doing.

I've set up several OS X servers in the last few months, most of them with ical services up and running. Quite everything works smooth, but most customers experience sooner or later errors like
http:/1.1 300... (mostly with repeating events, which seem to be buggy in iCal&CalDAV already for a long time)
http:/1.1 500...
neither are there any relevant entries in the log, nor does it occur on a regular base - in fact, we can observe these errors all 2 or 3 weeks or so. Stopping an restarting of iCal services usually fixes them. DNS is set up perfectly well, including the SRV-entries.
What about you? Do we just have to live with these errors? Or do I really have to sell Kerio to my customers?

I have had a few years setting up and administering various calendar options on Xserve.
The Apple built in iCal server is by far the worst of the lot.
Previous to that we used phpicalendar- http://phpicalendar.net/documentation/index.php/Main_Page
It is a bit dated and does not support the same feature set as the Apple one. It works well though.
Kerio on the other hand is great, works well and is easy to use, apart from accepting invites on iOS devices. Its also a much better mailserver than Apple's one.
Another option is to write a script to run everyday to stop and restart the ical service?

Mostly, this kinds of error can be caused by two factors:
1.Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries are missing.
2.Software problem.
If the issue is caused by #1, you can reinstall the Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries to resolve the problem.

Possible Fix for Frequent "This game cannot be played" Errors

I was seeing the error, "This game cannot be played," almost every time I tried to start a game on my 30GB iPod. The game would always eventually start fine on the second or third try, though.
I was just living with the error and figured it was a bug Apple would eventually work out. Then it occured to me one day that I'd neglected the fact that the iPod is, in part, a glorified hard disk. Maybe it needed some TLC.
So, I used DiskWarrior 4 to rebuild/repair it and the error has not appeared once since. It's been about four or five days.
Just thought others out there might have been having the same problem...

I also had this problem, and since I don't want to shell out $100 for DiskWarrior nor do I wish to do a restore (I manually manage my songs, photos, videos, etc.), I found that resyncing the games from within iTunes (on a Mac) is viable as well.
1. Select your iPod to bring up the overview/management window.
2. Select the games tab.
3. Enable the "Sync games" checkbox.
4. Select "Sync [Your iPod]" from the "File" menu OR right click on your iPod in the iTunes Devices list and select "Sync."

Location aliases for planning DB corrupted: Causes Essbase 1042003 Error

This is the first time I am running into this. This particular application is on 9.3.3 and was working fine till couple of days ago. The app has 4 DBs including Capex and Wrkforce. Using Smartview/add-in, when I try to connect to Capex/Wrkforce, I get network error 1042003 : Unable to locate servername in hosts file. I can connect to other applications on same server environment without any issues.
I was checking around and found that essbase location aliases are not being created correctly through planning refresh. The server name is server.region.corp.global but location alias get server.region.corp.glo. It is chopping off 'bal' from global in servername.
Is this a configuration issue? How can we get this fixed?

I believe we have figured this out. It was related to server name length. We use fully qualified server names that are longer than 30 characters and EAS/Essbase does not like that for some of the functionality. Moreover, not just the servername but 'servername:1423' should be less than 30 characters if you need any functionality such as partition to work.
I think this might be an EAS limitation but this is a 'feature' I can live without.

IOS Signature Settings for Multiple Email Accounts causes crashes and errors

Hello Everyone,
I've been having troubles with iOS email signature for severals years from iOS 4 (?) through iOS 7 on everything ranging from an iPad2, iPad3, IPad Air, and various iPhones. I'm currently on an iPad Air 128GB WiFi running iOS 7.1.2.
I have about 12 email accounts. I have it set to a unique signature per account. Whenever I try to scroll the list of signatures in the settings app, it will often have greyed out areas where a signature is supposed to be (especially after adding a new account). Other accounts will blur together and overlap each other. Very often the whole settings app crashes. Once the crashes start, they happen more frequently and you basically have to Power Off and Restart the iPad to get it back to a somewhat stable state.
I've come to accept that the Mail Signatures is broken and not stable. But maybe I'm just doing it wrong. So, I ask you great and wonderful Apple Community: Any suggestions? Or just keep on like I've been doing for the last several years?

this crash has been present since ios6 (apparently). it's apparently caused by a buffer overflow (i've not yet examined the crash files i've been generating) because the engineers never tested use cases such as yours or mine.
a painful workaround is to disable all your email accounts but one, edit its signature, then disable it, and enable the next one, and so on. ios saves the correct signature for each account and the settings app crash does not occur.
