Hi Chandra,
This is not a concept of OBIEE but more of a BI general concept that can be applied to many tools.

One thing to take in myind is that dimensions are usually used in the BI world and not the relational word. It helps you analyze data from different points of view and levels (aggregations).
In OBIEE you set a relational "database" in the physical layer buy joining (in general) your fact tables with your dimension tables
In BMM, you actually create and link those dimensions into a hierarchical format. This is, you have a dimension table, and you liked the different fields in the table to create a hierarchy that will later give you a great functionality.

Posting Date: Date which is used when entering the document in Financial Accounting or Controlling. The posting date can differ from both the entry date and the doc date.
Document Date: The document date is the date on which the original document was issued. Ex: Inv date, Bill date etc.,
Invoice Date : Usually the date when goods are shipped. Payment dates are set relative to the invoice date.

Modelling Time Dimension with Fact Table containing Start Date and End Date

I have a time dimension with Year till Date. I have a fact table which consists of Start Date, End Date, Person ID, Department ID.
How do i design Time dimension with fact table the below scenario
In the dashboard i have start Month and End month as prompts.
In the report i need to display Count(Person ID) > Start Date and < End Date along the trend.
For instance, i have selected Jan-2009 as start date and Apr-2009 as End Date, then i need to display Count(Person ID) of Jan-2009, Feb2009, Mar-2009 andApr-2009.
I Can not connect Time dimension with only Start Date or only with End Date to get the trend along the months.
Please advice on the issue which i am having.Hi,
Thanks for the response, Infact i tried using Complex join in physical layer. I have considered Time table joined with Fact table, and used >= and took and alias of the Time table and joined fact table using <=. When coming to BMM, i am not knowing how do i design this as if i merge the both the time dimensiona and its alias into single table, values will not be correct and if i make them as seperate columns. i can not show the trend as both are different columns.
Can you please let know where i am going wrong.

Updating of Completion Date and Booking Date
I have a question related to completion dates and booking dates.
If we have a online class that a learner enrolls in on 1/1/2011 and completes it on 1/1/2011.
The user then goes back in on 7/1/2011 and takes the course again it does not update the completion date.
If a new class is created under the same course and same offering and the user enrolls in the new class it auto populates the completion date from the earlier enrollment.
How are some working around this?

For online courses that are not certifications, the completion date is always going to be the first date the user completes the course. Once it's done, it's done, regardless of how many times the user goes in and goes through the content again. You could look at attempt data if necessary to see all user attempts and the "raw" status of each attempt as set by the content.

Authorization for Basic dates and Forecast dates
Hello colleagues,
My customer requires is to have separate authorizations for using Basic dates and Forecast dates within WBS Element, Network and Milestone.
Iv'e noticed that the rellevant autorization object to have this separation is C_PROJ_TCD ; field: PSARG ; activity: 111 & 112. However I wonder if this is relevant to all related objects in the project or only to the Project definition object.
If the answer is only to PD I will be glad to have an idea how to controll it within the other objects .

Difference between Invoice created date and billing date.

I opened the Billing Document in display mode(T.Code:VF03).In header data I found two tabs one is Created On and another one is Billing Date. Here in the billing document the both dates were different.
Please let me know the difference between Created On date and Billing Date.

Invoice created date : Invoice created date is nothing but the date on which you have created the invoice.
Billingdate:Billing date is the date on which you suppose to do the billing for respective customer. Tease billing dates will be proposed to invoice from sales order if it is order related or else actual goods issue date is proposed to billing document as a Billing date if particular billing document is delivery related.
If you want you can change the Actual billing date the result is invoice created date.

MASTER Data is the data that exists in the organization like employee details, material master, customer master, vendor master etc. These are generally created once.
Master data are distributed throughout the company, they are often not standardised and often redundant. As a result it is very costly to offer efficient customer service, keep track of supply chains and make strategic decisions. With SAP Master Data Management (SAP MDM) these important business data from across the company can be brought together, harmonised and made accessible to all staff and business partners. As a key component of SAP NetWeaver, SAP MDM ensures data integrity via all IT systems.
Regardless of the industry, companies often work with different ERP and Legacy systems. The result: the business processes are based on information about customers, partners and products which is displayed in different ways in the systems. If the data are recorded manually, there are more inconsistencies: some data sets are entered several times, others cannot be retrieved by all divisions of the company.

Always specify key fields when changing the data, including in the checkboxes
The configuration is an exception here. If this needs to be changed, you need to complete it again fully.
Maintain quantities and dates in the schedule line data.
1. Minimum entry:
You must enter the order number in the SALESDOCUMENT structure.
You must always enter key fields for changes.
You must always specify the update indicator in the ORDER_HEADER_INX.
2. Commit control:
The BAPI does not run a database Commit, which means that the application must trigger the Commit so that the changes are read to the database. To do this, use the BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT BAPI. -

I know the function "write to spreadsheet file.vi"
can append the data
to file. You can use the "concatenate strings" to display the date,
time as well as data... Hope this help.

Hope someone can help. I have tried to find the best way to do this and can't seem to make sense of anything. I'm using an Access 2013 Database and I have a report that is based on a query. I've created a Report Criteria Form. I
need the user to be able to select multiple items in a list box and also to enter a Begin Date and End Date. I then need my report to return only the records that meet all selected criteria. It works fine with a ComboBox and 1 selection but can't
get it to work with a List Box so they can select multiple items. Any help is greatly appreciated while I still have hair left.The query should return all records.

But I don't know how to get the first date and End date in given format. The properties file gives me just text. But I don't know how to get the date format using this. I need this urgently.
