Release strategy problem in Purchase order

Hi Guys,
I was trying to configure Release strategy for the purchase order and this button   is not triggering in my purchase order.
I dont know where I was doing wrong and  where might be the problem  as I tried several times.
Can someone give me some good idea about it  how to configure in a proper way.
If you need any further information please let me know.
Thanks
Krishna

Hi
I hope you followed the following steps:
1. Create Characteristic using CT04
2. Create a class and link to the characteristic using CL02( class type: 32)
3. Configuration of release procedure
SPRO IMG->MM-> Purchasing -> PO -> Release Procedure -> Set up procedure
    A) Create release group and link to class
    B) Create release code
    C) Set up the release indicator
    D) Set up Release Strategies-> strategy and codes
    E) Set up Release Strategies -> pre requisites
    F) Set up Release Strategies -> status
    G) Set up Release Strategies -> values for strategy

  • Release Strategy for Asset Purchase order

    Hi,
I have the following client Requirement.
    1. PO document type will be anything but Po created is for Asset
    2. In such case, Release strategy should be approved only be certain groups only. Anyway the Account assignment category will be "A"
As we cannot control the PO Release by Account Assignment category, it has to be controlled via User Exit.
I.e., combination of Acc Assignment category and Purchasing Group should result in a particular strategy.
Can you suggest relevant user exit? This is importantly needed. Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Please do the following changes, same is tested by me in Our dev server and works successfully in PO.
Go to Se11 ,open structures -CEKKO (You will find KNTTP-account assignment field is missing)
Click on append structures ,system will ask you object name ,give as anything, then put a description /
Then system will ask you to add new field in CEKKO structures.
Add field KNTTP and save ,system will generate request for the same.
Now create a characteristic as CEKKO_KNTTP and save ,don't give table name here
Once saved,re-open the CEKKO_KNTTP ,here you need to give table name as CEKKO and field name-KNTTP. Define values an save.
then add the same in class ,and then select the required assignment in CL20N ,save.
And check the PO effects,it will works.

    Who can help me?
I created one PO, then check in ME23, and found release strategy for this PO is 'VS', but when I  check PO release strategy in customizing, it's not defined for PO release strategy.  So, how strategy 'VS' is assigned to PO during order creation?
This order can't be released in ME28

  • Problem with purchase orders and cancelling order lines

    Hi,
We have a problem with purchase orders and cancelling order lines. For example we have created PO no. 4300291277:
We have made a GR 5000186897 on 03.09.2010 amount 1.920 and tried to cancel it with GR 5000208866, but it takes the invoice amount 1.724 instead of 1.920. What is the correct way to undo this orders, so we cancel the 1.920 and not the 1.724?
Please help me, your help will be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Najma.

    hi,
You have to cancel the IR first...and then do cancel the GR...
yes, there will be diff. in the price(if the price changes in bwtn)..if no changes in the price , the price will taken as old one..
    Process:
    1. Cancel IR
    2. Then cancel GR..
    3. then go the PO and try to delete the line item..

  • User exit for Release Strategy in PM Work Order

    Dear all,
Please help me with the following issue:
My client want to change the approval route of the release strategy of the Work Order. The release is based on the PM Activity Type. Now, I am brand new on the project, I have no documentation and I have no access to CMOD so I don't know where to find the cusomised release strategy for change it.
Please, can you advise on this?
    Thank you very much.
    Sorin

    Dear,
to have release strategy based on "PM ACTIVITY TYPE", i suggest you two ways
    Option-1:
    1) Have permit system with classification as per the approval hierarchy.Create permits as per approval levels.
    2) Once maintenance order is created, system will assign the permits to that maintenance order at the time of saving.
    3) Now approvers will approve the permit with respect to Maintenance order PM activity type.
Note: If your client wants to have mailing functionality to their out look or other mails, put logic in save exit after assignment of permits to maintenance order, with the help of ABAPER and also the sequence of approving the permits.
    Option-2:
    1) Create user status profile as per approval hierarchy with number assignment.
    2) Create "Authorization code" for the user status number.
    3) Provide "Authorization code" to the SAP user ids as per approval hierarchy.
    or
If you have only one app rover, provide authorization of creating order to one user  and "Releasing" the order to other user.

  • Problem with purchase order release strategy

    Hi Guru's
i am dealing with problem of  service purchase order release strategy , when i making the service  po ,  i am not giving any over fulfillment tolerance  ,  after release & making Service entry sheet of PO ,   when i go to the change mode and change
over fulfillment tolerance say 90%  , system allow me to make , and not applying release  strategy again  ,  so  there can be a miss use of this Scenario ,  so is there any possibility that release strategy , will appear again when change the tolerance ,
0r  any other idea from your side , to avoid this ,
your suggestions are really always helpful to me ,  please guide me for this also
    Thanks & regards
    Neha

    Hi Neha,
A reset of the release strategy only takes place if
    -  the changeability of the release indicator is set to '4' in
case of a purchase requisition and '4' or '6' in case of
another purchasing document (purchase order, request for
       quotation, contract, scheduling agreement),
    -  the document is still subject to the previous release
       strategy,
    -  the new TOTAL NET ORDER VALUE is higher than the old one.
The total net order value is linked to CEKKO-GNETW for a purchase order,
    CEBAN-GSWRT for a purchase requisition item-wise release and CEBAN-GFWRT
for a purchase requisition overall release.
If you have maintained a Tolerance for value changes during release
(V_161S-TLFAE), the release strategy is reset when the value of the
document is higher than the percentage you have specified and if the
document is still subject to the previous release strategy.
Review the SAP note 365604 and 493900 for more
    information about Release strategy.

  • Problem in Purchase Order Release Workflow

    Hello Experts,
I am working in a workflow for releasing PO.In this workflow I have created just one activity step type to release a purchase order. Here I have taken PO(BUS2012) object as input parameter. In the activity step type I am using a custom task(TS99900011).In this task I have used BUS2012 as Business Object and SINGLERELEASE as method. Here I have used 3 terminating events of BUS2012 object. They are Released, Reset and significantly changed. I have just copied the standard task (TS20000166).
Now my activity step has four outcomes. We can see them in Outcomes tab.
    1.Purchase Order Released(Cgy:External Events)
    2.Not Used(Cgy:External Events)
    3.Purchase Order Changed Significantly(Cgy:External Events)
    4.Processing obsolete(Cgy:Internal Events).
I have set agent assignment as user Manas.
Now, when I am testing the workflow with a valid PO number as input the work item goes to my inbox for release the PO as expected. There I can release or reject the PO.But while saving after releasing or rejecting the PO the work item still remains in Workspace Inbox.Any of the four outcomes is not appropriate for the activity.
Can anybody suggest any solution to overcome the situation.
Are the external events are really helpful in developing workflow activity? Please suggest.

    Hi Manas,
There is one option, where you can stop the workitem and even entire workflow.
    Use Fork for parllel processing
Have a Wait step with BUS2105-Significantlychanged event and outcome to the end of workflow.
    Thanks,
    Sudhir.

  • Purchase Requisition release strategy problem

    Hi,
We have maintain the Item wise PR Release Strategy in three levels (1-Site In-charge, 2-Project Manager, & 3- Director). PR release is in sequence from 1 to 3 but in any case changes required after full release in PR we need to restrict the user for sequence unrelease from upper to lower one then change. Now lower one unrelease the fully release PR and change it. So please suggest me for sequence unrelease from upper to lower one then after changes being possible.
    Thanks.

I believe you should have addressed this question to some of ERP forums as the current one is for ME application.

  • Release strategy problem

I am working on configuration of PO release strategy.
I have two plants in one PO. I included both as values in characteristics and then selected in OMGS (classification) but release strategy is not working when I created purchase order with both plants but works with single plant.
    Does anybody know why ?

    Hi,
Release strategy for PO with  line item charcterstics like Plant, item category, material group etc., gets updated into the structure CEKKO as blank if two different values found in a document.  For this type you need to create a assign a value as blank for the Plant.
Ex: Release strategy S1 for plant 1000 with Charctertic value 1000
Release strategy S2 for plant 1100 with charcterstic value 1100
Release strategy S3 for both plants 1000, 1100 with charcterstic value " BLANK"

  • Problem with Purchase Order receipt - Urgent

    Hi all,
Scenario - A purchase order with a six items has been released, four items have been recieved, fifth item was deleted & sixth item is packing & forwarding charges.
Problem - A change was done in the Mtl master for the packing & forwarding charges to ensure that a GR is not required for this item, but the same is not being reflected, as a query of Open PO's still shows this PO as open with the item packing & forwarding not received. How to resolve this?
    Vivek

    Stephen & Seema,
From your inputs i did get some picture, but here is more details about the problem am facing, maybe you can help me out with this,
The item packing & forwarding chgs has been declared as a material & in the BD-1 view of the Mtl Master, the General Item Category Grp has been set as 'Service w/o Dlvy' & this is causing the GR not to be ticked in the PO & hence it still says item yet to receive. I subsequently changed the status of Gen Itm Category to 'Service w/o Dlvy Confimration' & this ticks the GR. But the issue is, since the change in Material Master is done after the PO release, it is not changing the status in that PO.
And the query i am runing to check the open PO's is a customised query developed using SQ01.
Hope you are clear of my problem now & let me know what i can do

  • Problem with Purchase Order

    Hello friends,
I have a problem during creating a PO also PO requisition. During my work, the system is reporting this error message:
"Budget for all Years under year-based commitment update of value type Purchase order".
I thing the problem is caused by some wrong year end closing activities or by the budget.
I am hopeless. Thanks for your help,
    Charlie

    Hi Charlie,
What is missing is either the budget for the WBS element or Cost Object on which the PO is being raised has not been loaded into SAP and if it has been loaded, it is probably not released yet. Therefore, you would have to get in touch with your Finance Department for them to load and release the budget via Investment Management(IM) module(if used by your company).
Once the plan is loaded, use transaction code <b>IM34</b> to rollup the plan. Next, use transaction code <b>S_ALR_87012812</b> to check the result of your rollup. Use transaction code <b>IM32</b> to copy the view across so that you can see the Annual view. Then use transaction code <b>IM52</b> to distribute to Level 2 WBS and <b>CJ30</b> from Level 2 to Level 3. Finally, use transaction code <b>CJ32</b> to release the budget. You can then run report <b>CN41</b> to look at the overall picture of the budget and the released amount.
It is after this has been completed that you can now start raising PO on the cost objects.
    I hope the above helps.
Do not forget to award the points please.
    Regards,
    Jacob

  • Escape Release strategy based on purchasing group

    Dear Experts,
In our system,  PO release strategy is set up,
But, some of the POs are not subjected to release strategy because they belong to a perticular Purhasing Group (P01).
Where this set up is done?
    Regards,
    Shashidhar

    Hi Shashidhar,
In your system it seems there is a characteristic created for Purchasing Group, if you want it activated for a particular Purch Group, then please do the following
Determine the strategy that you want to be called ( You can see any existing PO to find it out), once done, you need to identify the characteristics and class
SPRO-MM-Purchasing-Purchase order-release strategy, define release strategy, select your strategy and go to details and click on classification, in case you get an error and not able to, click on release pre requisites, come back and then try again, in classification you will get to see the various characteristics maintained and also the class name at the top.
Once you have done that, please go back to the node Edit Class, please put the class that you obtained earlier and get the characteristics for Purchasing Group.
Then go to the node Edit Characteristic, put your characteristic name say PO_RELEASE_EKGRP, Click on the tab values, and add your Purchasing group here and save it.
Then go to transaction CL24N, provide the class, and select the release strategy you are interested in, and select change, and detail, there for the characteristic for Purchasing group, you can add the previously added Group, and you are good to go.
Please let me know if this helps.
    Regards
    Shailesh
