Reload lov by clicking on optiongroup

Hello,
I have a form with an optiongroup with redirect an a lov which values are based on the value of the optiongrop. If the user clicks on the optiongroup the page reloads an the lov will be updated depending on the choosen value of the optiongroup.
My problem is now that all the values in the other textfield in the page will be cleared. How is it possible to save the values of the textfields?
Thx in advance

Hamburger,
The easiest way is to use Ajax for that. See some examples here:

  • Safari won't initially load the page, requires a reload or re-click

    Ever since yesterday, every time I open a bookmark in Safari, or enter a URL and hit enter, the page will just remain blank...only after I hit reload, or re-click the bookmark the page will load. This isn't always the case but happens a lot. This also occurs on my dads MacBook Pro so maybe it is an issue with my Airport Extreme?

    it happens to me too? any idea?

  • Tabs reload when I click on one

    Hi Safari (5.1) will reload a tab once I switch back to it, why does it do this? I have to wait for it to reload etc...
    Thanks,

    I just wrote a blog post that explains how to stop this annoying behavior in Safari 5.

  • On click of a link the LOV should always show the first value.

    Hi ADF Experts,
    Jdev Version 11.1.1.7.0
    I have a table with one of the column as hyperlink.
    On click of the hyperlink a LOV comes inside a popup.
    And the LOV shows a value as "Day" by default.
    After that I select "Week" from LOV. and click search and close.
    Next time when I click the hyperlink, the LOV is by default selected as "Week".
    So it should display "Day" by default.
    Regards,
    Roy

    There is something wrong in your setup. The SOC displays the element the value property is pointing to. So if you see week you value property is either pointing to this list element, or your popup has not been updated with the right data.
    However, the information to decide which one is hte case is missing.
    Check the popup contentDelivery property if it's set to lazyuncached...

  • When click on button in jsp portlet, the portlet is reloaded

    Hi all
    I have a jsp portlet containing a number of divs and buttons. When the user clicks on a specific button, I use javascript to hide and/or display specific divs.
    However, in Weblogic Portal 10.3 (using IE 8 or FF 3.5.3) the whole portlet is reloaded when I click on a button.
    This results in the default screen being displayed again.
    Is there a way that I can prevent Weblogic Portal from reloading the portlet when javascript is executed in the portlet?

    Can you send source for how you create your button? Is it <input> or <button> ?
    I suspect what's happening is that your button has no type, so it's defaulting to "submit" behavior, reposting the page.
    Try using <button type="button" ...> and see if that doesn't fix it.

  • Why has the "Reload current page" control been moved to the navigation bar Firefox 29? I would like to be able to place it where I had it in Firefox 28.

    After getting the Firefox 29 download I tried to rearrange my buttons\controls to where I was used to having them in Firefox 28 and prior. I noticed, in particular, that the "Reload current page" control is no longer available to be set in front of the navigation bar where I've had it for years now. The reason I chose Firefox in the first place was because I could customize it to my liking. I know you can simply right click and "Reload" the tab or just get used to going to the end (right side) of the navigation bar but that defeats the purpose completely for me.
    Here's an analogy; Ford decides they will now replace current model cars in the US with British standard style vehicles. Every car sold by Ford will now be right-hand steer. While this may seem like a "no biggy" to some, others, especially those of us who are inclined to drive standard transmission vehicles, may be a bit resistant to that change. Not sure if I successfully made my point or not but hopefully I did.
    Initially I thought I'd start by "Has someone fallen and hit their head?' or "Did Steve Ballmer suddenly take over Mozilla, in particular the build of Firefox 29, because this one smells like a Windows 8 (aka the aroma of a full sewer tank on a hot day)?" It is understood that updates are required and as an IT guy, I've been around for many a faux pas where the kinks just need to be worked out. They happen. Maybe some consideration will be made with Firefox 30 to those of us in the states that are used to left-hand steer vehicles.
    I may be missing something here, and will gladly fall on my sword if that is the case, but there is no indication that I've seen from the Mozilla sight that the "Reload current page" control can be manipulated in any way as of Firefox 29. On the bright side, I now have a good reason to go back and review some of the browsers I discounted back in the day when I decided to go with Firefox.

    As far as I know, [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ the Classic Theme Restorer add-on] is the only way move the Reload button outside the address bar.
    # Install [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ Classic Theme Restorer] and restart Firefox when prompted.
    # Open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A; Mac: Command+Shift+A), then the Extensions category.
    # Next to Classic Theme Restorer, click the Options button.
    # On the Main tab, make sure "Movable back-forward button" and "Hide urlbars stop & reload buttons" are checked. You might also want to check "Combine stop & reload buttons". Close the options window when done.
    # Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
    # Drag the Back/Forward, Stop and Reload buttons onto the navigation toolbar.
    # Click the Exit Customize button in the lower right corner when done.
    That being said, I should point out that you can reload pages in other ways.
    * Right-click any tab and choose Reload.
    * Right-click an empty area of the page and choose Reload.
    * Press F5.
    * Press Ctrl+R (Mac: Command+R).

  • ITunes 11 annoyance-when in music library and change views (clicking on Movies or iTunes Store, etc.) then go back to Music, it always resets me back to top of my Music library rather than the artist I was looking at prior.

    For example, I am looking at Slash's Apocalyptic Love and click the arrow to Show in iTunes Store.  I then click back on my Music Library and instead of seeing Slash's album still, iTunes has reset my view and I will now be back in the letter A's.  I then have to scroll down or hit "S" to get back down in my list to find the Slash album again and return to what I was doing.  Minor inconvenience, but an annoying quirk.
    Previous versions of iTunes kept your place and remembered where you were in the music list.
    Anyone experience this or have a solution that I'm missing?

    I complained about this the day iTunes 11 came out, they clearly don't give a hoot. It's super annoying, cause I get a lot of free music and then I listen to it in one playlist, look for it in my library to delete it, when I switch back, I have to scroll all the way down again again.  And god forbid you are in your library when it switches songs while you're looking at something, cause it automatically switches to the song playing, and then you have to scroll back to where you were. Seems to me if it's a feature it used to have, it shouldn't be too hard to add it to an update...

  • I want to love iPhoto just a I love iTunes.

    I love iPhoto, but:
    1. The iPhoto library package's upload is slow, because is a folder full of little files. The FTP app read all the paths one by one and it's slow down. It's hard to keep a backup updated. The compressed folder -zipped- is much faster. The same slowness I get when I upload this via wi-fi. Am I wright? Or I'm doing something wrong? OK I may compress this whole package but not the album alone, because it's not organized by name, it's by year. In the iTunes it's by artist.
    2. In iPhoto I never know the real photo size. Like -show the item info- below in Finder. Is there an iPhoto feature for this? I mean. A smart folder for minimum size or maximum size? Or by resolution. Like songs in iTunes?
    3. I like to see the photo full sized. And in the iPhoto I can't. For this, I always have to select the photo and press the key 1, and do this with any photo all the time. It's easier open a finder window and droping pic by pic into the Safari window. And I want to use the mouse's ball to crontrol the directions. Much better than the iPhoto's little navigation window controlled by the cursor. I may use the Preview too and have the exactly size that I want.
    4. I like to put/delete photos from internet in the iPhoto all the time. And it's a pain always open the iPhoto app for one pic or two.
    5. I never know if I cropped the original or just the copy. I don't get this non-destructive thing. I don't want keep the original. I don't want to keep an original and a modified version. What can I do?
    6. With thousands of photos in the iPhoto it's not easy to backup an album because there is the exactly date on them. I used to use iPhoto but it's getting harder to kepping using it.
    What may I do to enjoy more the iPhoto? What's the iPhoto appealing?
    I have MobileMe and I think I'll never use the online gallery. Make no sense. I don't know. Each photo has three copies in different sizes. To make the thumbs and it's slows down. Too much files. And don't open a photo full sized version like in a blank safari window.
    7. I would love to click on an iPhoto library and open this selected one, or just drop this library into the iPhoto's icon... But it's impossible. Always opens the last library.
    Sorry about my english and this long question.

    You can do incremental back ups by using any of the many back up utilities that support iPhoto. DejaVu and Chronosync are two, but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate.
    2. In iPhoto I never know the real photo size. Like -show the item info- below in Finder. Is there an iPhoto feature for this? I mean. A smart folder for minimum size or maximum size? Or by resolution. Like songs in iTunes?
    What do you mean by 'size'? Do you mean filesize? How many MB? Or Dimensions? how many cm x cm? If you mean file size, look at the info pane: click on the little 'i' below left. This also has the dimensions in pixels.
    3. I like to see the photo full sized. And in the iPhoto I can't. For this, I always have to select the photo and press the key 1, and do this with any photo all the time. It's easier open a finder window and droping pic by pic into the Safari window.
    How on earth can it be easier to root through all the folders and folders on the iPhoto Package File to find a pic, then drag it to Safari rather than select the pic in the iPhoto Window and tap the 1 key?
    Secondly: Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.
    To access your files in iPhoto: There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
    For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
    To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
    This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
    If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
    If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
    Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
    4. I like to put/delete photos from internet in the iPhoto all the time. And it's a pain always open the iPhoto app for one pic or two.
    Drag them to a Folder on the desktop and use an app like Hazel to automatically import them next tie you open iPhoto.
    5. I never know if I cropped the original or just the copy. I don't get this non-destructive thing.
    Any changes made in iPhoto are applied to the Original and Saved in a copy. That's the non-destructive thing.
    I don't want keep the original. I don't want to keep an original and a modified version. What can I do?
    Very simply, use a different application. This is how iPhoto is designed and it's adhering to the best practises of Digital Asset Management.
    6. With thousands of photos in the iPhoto it's not easy to backup an album because there is the exactly date on them. I used to use iPhoto but it's getting harder to kepping using it.
    As said above, use a utility to make incremental back ups.
    What may I do to enjoy more the iPhoto? What's the iPhoto appealing?
    It's a very good entry level digital assess management application. It has good editing features, good slideshow features and excellent organisational features including Smart Elements and keywording. It's integrated throughout the Operating System.
    I have MobileMe and I think I'll never use the online gallery. Make no sense. I don't know.
    It makes a lot of sense. What's hard to understand about it? Have you read the help?
    7. I would love to click on an iPhoto library and open this selected one, or just drop this library into the iPhoto's icon... But it's impossible. Always opens the last library.
    Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'

  • Different LOVs for a single attribute?

    Hi,
    In our application, we use a "domainvalues" table to store all valid values for enumerated fields. The table has a typical design, with the domain name and the value as primary key and a field for the description. In the database this table is used to validate those enumerated fields. In our ADF GUI we use this table to fill single select lists. For each domain we have a read only View Object, which has a query like this:select value
    ,      description_short
    from   domainvalues
    where  upper(dmn_name) = 'IND_YES_NO'
    ORDER BY description_shortNow we have a domain with three values, of which one value should not be used under certain circumstances. We simply created two domains, resulting in our domainvalues table containing (among others) the following rows:dmn_name  value  description_short
    dom1          1  one
    dom1          2  two
    dom1          3  three
    dom2          1  one
    dom2          3  threeNow we have an Entity Object-based View Object that should use one of these lists. Which list is used depends on the page in which the View Object is used. So I selected the appropriate attribute in the View Object editor. Under "List of values" at the bottom of the screen I clicked the green + button to add a List of Values. I added an LOV with the following settings:
    <ul><li>Name = LOV_Domain1
    <li>List data source = Domain1ViewObject
    <li>List attribute = value</ul>
    The I added a second LOV by clicking the green + again. This time I used this settings:
    <ul><li>Name = LOV_Domain2
    <li>List data source = Domain2ViewObject
    <li>List attribute = value</ul>
    After creating the second LOV, a column of radio buttons appears in front of the table of LOVs, allowing me to select a default. The Domain1 LOV is selected as default and I keep it that way.
    Now when I drag-and-drop the field on a page and choose to add it to the page as an "ADF Select One Choice", a List Binding is created in my page definition file. If I double click that list binding, the Edit List Binding dialog opens. the "Model Driven List" option is selected and I am able to select a Base Data Source Attribute and a Server List Binding Name. The Server List Binding Name option is where I am able to select which LOV provider I want to use. In this case I want to use "LOV_Domain2", the one that lacks the value 2. So I selected that one from the list, instead of the default selected "LOV_Domain1". So far so good.
    The problem is, when I run the page, my select list still contains all three values, so I have the impression that the default LOV is used, regardless what is selected in the page definition. Is this a bug, or am I missing something?
    Best regards,
    Bart Kummel

    Okay, I've figured out a work around myself. I just added an extra attribute in the View Object, based on the same attribute in the Entity Object. Each attribute of the View Object has it's own LOV definition. I only have to select the other attribute in my JSP to get the other LOV. I still think the solution with two LOV definitions associated with a single attribute would be more elegant. I hope this will be added in a next version.
    Best regards,
    Bart Kummel

  • How to populate form data after LOV search on primary key

    This is the description:
    Pg. 1 contains an item defined as P1_CUSTOMER_ID (Popup Key LOV (Displays description, returns key value) with the list of values definition:
    select
    last_name || ' , ' || first_name display_value, cust_num return_value from customers order by 1
    Pg. 1 contains a button defined as P1_FIND_NOW (Redirect) with a URL redirect to Pg. 4.
    Pg. 1 contains a branch defined as Go To Page 4 (after processing), branch point = On Submit: After processing, action = page in this application, When Button Pressed = P1_FIND_NOW
    Pg. 4 contains two regions with multiple items, for example P4_ADDRESS_1, Display as Text Field (disabled, does not save state), Source Used = Always, replacing any existing value in session state, Source Type = Database column, Source value = ADDRESS_1
    Pg. 4 contains a process (before region) defined as POPULATE_CUST_INFO, Process point = On load, before region, Process error message = Customer could not be found, Source process =
    BEGIN
    SELECT
    CUSTOMERS.FIRST_NAME,CUSTOMERS.LAST_NAME,CUSTOMERS.BIRTH_DATE,
    CUSTOMERS.SEX,CUSTOMERS.MARITAL_STATUS,CUSTOMERS.PHONE_NUMBER_V,
    CUSTOMERS.PHONE_NUMBER_M, CUSTOMERS.ADDRESS_1,CUSTOMERS.ADDRESS_2,
    CUSTOMERS.ADDRESS_3,CUSTOMERS.CITY_NAME,CUSTOMERS.STATE_CODE,
    CUSTOMERS.ZIP_CODE,CUSTOMERS.COUNTRY_CODE
    INTO
    :P4_FIRST_NAME,:P4_LAST_NAME,:P4_DOB,:P4_GENDER,:P4_MARITAL_STATUS,
    :P4_VOICE,:P4_MOBILE,:P4_ADDRESS_1,:P4_ADDRESS_2,:P4_ADDRESS_3,
    :P4_CITY_NAME,:P4_STATE_CODE,:P4_ZIP_CODE,:P4_COUNTRY_CODE
    FROM CUSTOMERS
    WHERE :P1_CUST_ID = CUSTOMERS.CUST_NUM;
    END;
    I am getting the pop-up LOV and selecting a customer from the LOV, then clicking the FIND NOW button. This redirects to Pg. 4 where I expect to see all the data for the selected Customer populated into the various text fields (name, address, etc.). What is actually happening is I'm being redirected to Pg. 4 but
    the Process error message = Customer could not be found is displaying.
    If I run the same Source process query within SQL, I get a screen to
    enter bind variables, I enter an existing customer number (e.g.Y0001), and I get the message:
    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error
    The primary key for the CUSTOMERS table is CUST_NUM varchar2(17)

    Your message refers to "P1_CUSTOMER_ID" and "P1_CUST_ID". Is that a typo in the message? If not, perhaps that's the problem.
    Rodney

  • How to use attribute datatype date in LOV

    In LOV have attribute that datatype date when run it show message error
    "java.lang.ClassCastException"
    How to use datatype date in LOV ?
    Can set property of LovVO attribute, LOV Region to date?
    If answer from above question is "NO", Can you give me function and OAF syntax for convert string to date, and where to convert in VOImpl or AM or another.
    Thank you very much.

    After I get parameter date from LOV then click GO, it show below message error

  • Why has the Reload button shrunk and shot to the end of the URL window? How will I find out when the Favloc plugin works in V4?

    I had installed Firefox 4, but rapidly had to backtrack to 3.6, then again to 3.5. Two reasons: 1. The three toolbar buttons I use most are Back, Forward and Reload. In 3.5 I can group these nicely at the left hand end; in 4 the Reload button has shrunk and shot across to the end of the URL bar. Why?
    2. Versions 3.6 and 4 are incompatible with the Favloc plugin. This is such a brilliant plugin you ought to buy the code and build it in. I am marooned in 3.5 until this plugin works in V4 - running 3.5, how will I find out when it does?

    * Press F5.
    * Press Ctrl+R (Mac: Command+R).

  • Cascading LOVs (APEX 4.1) problem, using in report does not set values

    Hi,
    i am using APEX 4.1.0.00.32 and i have a simple report as
    SQL:*
    SELECT * from region
    WHERE region like '%'||P3_REGION||'%'
    and country like '%'||P3_COUNTRY||'%'
    and city like '%'||P3_CITY||'%'
    Items:*
    P3_REGION:
    select distinct region as d, region as r from region
    Display Null value: YES
    Null display value: - select -
    Null return value: +0+
    P3_COUNTRY:
    select distinct country as d, country as r from region where region = :P3_REGION
    Display Null value: YES
    Null display value: - select -
    Null return value: +0+
    Cascading LOV Parent Item(s): P3_REGION
    P3_CITY:
    +select distinct city as d, city as r from region where country = :P3_COUNTRY
    Display Null value: YES
    Null display value: - select -
    Null return value: +0+
    Cascading LOV Parent Item(s): P3_COUNTRY
    The LOVs work fine and the correct values are displayed if cascading through them
    So in the last step i want to filter the report with the values that were selected in the lovs. And this i get not working.
    I tried to add a button with SUBMIT of the page. After choosing values in all LOVs and clicking the SUBMIT button the page submits, alle LOVs are cleared (with value - select -) and the report shows all rows.
    I tried to change the button to "redirect to Page 3" and setting the values P3_REGION, P3_COUNTRY, P3_CITY to &P3_REGION., &P3_COUNTRY., &P3_CITY. but without success.
    I tried to use the setting "Page Action when Value Changed" to "Submit" and/or "Redirect and set value" for all Item LOVs and/or only the last item LOV, but then the cascade of the LOVs does not work properly and the report does not change too.
    I am confused as i don´t know what i can do until now. I think this should be an easy requirement to limit/filter the report with values in the LOVs.
    Furthermore it should be possible to choose only the region LOV and then limit the report with that region (without choosing country and city)
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Dan,
    thank you for your answer. I have the solution now from Kleber_M, this works.

    1. Use bind variables in my query. It would look something like:
    SELECT *
    FROM region
    WHERE region LIKE '%'|| :P3_REGION ||'%'
    AND country LIKE '%'|| :P3_COUNTRY ||'%'
    AND city LIKE '%'|| :P3_CITY ||'%'
    This was only a mistake when writing the post, i forgot the colon. I use bind variables of course.
    2. Make sure you have a comma separated list of item names that the report depends on beneath the SQL Query where it says Page Items to Submit. This will make sure that the value of those items on the page are bound into session state prior to the query executing.I tried this, too, but without success...
    3. Use Dynamic Actions to perform the refresh action when any of the three items changes. This would be both more performant and a better experience for the end user than a full page refresh.How can i do this. This sounds good, because when refreshing the page often some items oder actions are done that i don´t want to.
